Hey guys and let the 2014 year begin with more fandoms and fics on the way! Not to mention How to train your Dragon 2! Best part of that is that its near my birthday! Whoo! But hey, there is a while till that day yet! Let's get these out the way first! Super happy with all the positive comments in the last chapter and I know I said it before but some people are still asking so I will say it again. Jack and Star will NOT BE PAIRED TOGETHER! I had a long chat with my friend about it and we both came to conclusion that the pairing won't work and will complicate things. Jack turned around to face Star who now had a blank face expression. "What? I don't know what you mean" Jack said and Star rolled her eyes.

"I might not be the smartest witch in the world but I am not the dumbest. I know you're hiding something from us all" Star said, folding her arms.

"Seriously, I don't know what you mean" Jack said, panic starting to rise in his chest. He then attempted to walk out of the room but the next thing he knew, the door had slammed shut and he turned to see Star standing next to him, locking the door.

"Cut the cupcakes Jack. Tell me the truth. I know that's hard for you but do it" Star said, stepping towards him. Jack started to back away and raised his hands so then his bag fell on the floor.

"Okay… um… I was testing out a new spell! Yeah I was enchanting wood to make it fly! It's a new charm I've been practicing" Jack fibbed. Seemed believable but Star didn't buy it one bit.

"Right, then show me" Star demanded.

Jack now had nowhere else to go as he found himself backed right up against the wall. "I can't! I was gonna show you but when I came back into my room, I hit my head so I can't remember the spell. Sorry" Jack confessed.

Star almost seemed convinced. Almost. "Then can you explain to me why you used ice without casting any words? Or without a wand when you were flying?" Star asked. Jack said nothing at that so then Star gripped the side of his hoodie as if she was going to punch him.

"Whoa whoa easy!" Jack said, raising his hands up.

"Jack I swear, if you don't tell me what's going on, I will show everyone that picture I took of you when you were out flying, testing that spell. Don't think I won't!" she threatened.

"You're bluffing!" Jack challenged and Star gave him a clod stare that sent shivers down his spine.

"Am I really?" she asked darkly, tightening her grip on Jack's hoodie.

Jack's eyes actually went wide with fear at the dark tone to her voice. To prove her point, she pulled something out of her pocket and held it in front of Jack's face. True to her word, there he was on the photo, staff in hand as he flew through the air with a huge grin on his face. He had no other choice now.

"Okay… I'll tell you. I don't know how long we have though" Jack said with an exhale, and Star let him go.

"We have an hour. Start talking" she said. Jack sighed as he sat himself down on the edge of his bed and Star sat next to him.

"The truth is, I'm not a wizard. In fact I never knew that this place existed before I came here. Two weeks before the year started was when I found out" Jack said.

"Same here. So if you're not a wizard, how did you get a letter?" Star asked.

"I didn't get one. Dumbledore paid me and my friends a visit. My friends are the Guardians" Jack told her and she cocked her head to one side.

"Your legal Guardians?" she asked and Jack shook his head.

"No, that's what they're best known as. I have no legal Guardians or parents. I'm over three hundred years old" Jack said and Star's jaw nearly dropped.

"Really? That's so cool! So who are the Guardians?" she asked.

"Well, when you were a kid, did you believe in the Sandman, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy?" Jack asked and Star nodded. "Well, they're real and they are the Guardians. I joined them about a year ago. My name gives me away. I'm Jack Frost, the Spirit of Winter and the Guardian of Fun" Jack said. He closed his eyes and prepared for the laughter but as he opened them again to look at Star, she looked amazed.

"I knew it! All those times when my parents said that they weren't, they were! Ha! I never stopped believing Jack! I had my suspicions about you being a Winter spirit but I never would have guessed that you knew them!" she almost shouted.

Jack had never seen any teenager believe before or be this excited. "So you believe me? In me and the others?" he asked.

"Of course! I'm not the only one! A bunch of my friends still believe too!" Star told him. Jack grinned at that. "You're never too old to believe!" she added.

"True that" Jack agreed.

"But there's one thing I don't get. If you are who you say you are, then why are you going to Hogwarts?" Star asked and Jack ran a hand through his hair and pulled his beanie off.

"Yeah this is the tricky part. Dumbledore wants me to go undercover as a student here to keep an eye on his students, Harry in particular. That's why I asked for your help. With Umbridge making these new rules, it's been hard for me to investigate on my own" Jack said.

"So that's why you asked for my help?" Star asked and Jack nodded.

"Yes. There is something bad going on in this school. When I got hit by that spell at the Quidditch match, I had a dream about two people talking about a takeover for Hogwarts and the same thing happened when you and Fred found me in the hallway but they warned me to stay out of their way. I think I knew one of them and I know the other one was the Dark Lord" Jack said worriedly but was now glad that he could talk about it to someone.

"Mmmm… well, some of the girls in the dorm have been having nightmares lately. I asked Delyth if she has been having any and she said yes and so have the other girls in her dorm. I think some boys have been too" Star said, "That help?" she added.

This finally confirmed Jack's suspicions. He knew who it was and he knew who had teamed up with the Dark Lord. It was Pitch Black. There was no other explanation. "Ah its Pitch!" Jack said, slapping a hand to his face in dismay.

"Who's Pitch?" Star asked curiously.

"The Boogieman. He is casting nightmares upon the school! I knew those shadows looked familiar!" Jack said.

"Huh… wonder why they've teamed up" Star said.

"Beats me but I'm gonna find out when we go back! By the way can I ask you something?" Jack asked.

"Shoot" Star said, crossing her legs.

"How did you know I was hiding something?" Jack asked, now very intrigued.

"Well, I first got suspicious when you made Malfoy slip on the ice in the Great Hall that first night. I saw that you had your wand out but yet you didn't cast a spell. The fact that the boys always complained that the room was so cold, even though the windows were all shut and no pranks were played. In Umbridge's room when you had that outburst, I saw some frost patterns appear on the windows as your mood changed since you were pretty pissed. I put those pieces together and figured that you were somehow linked with the cold, but I didn't know how you were linked. Finally, the fact that Snape kept you behind after that hilarious potions lesson and said that he knew what you were, plus he took points away from Slytherin. No student could ever make him do that but someone who had power over him could, like Dumbledore. I was eavesdropping if you're wondering how I knew about that" Star said and then inhaled a deep breath after the long speech she gave.

Jack was shocked and amazed. All this time, Star was suspicious of him and he never even knew. "I don't know what to say" he admitted.

"Oh and it's like you were BFF with the wind or something too" she added.

"Oh I fly the wind" Jack told her.

"Sweet. So what are you going to do now? I mean, you have your explanation but where's your proof? The Ministry will never believe you if you tell them that the Boogieman has teamed up with someone who they don't think has returned" Star pointed out.

"I know… I can't let anyone know about my secret. It's crucial that no one finds out" Jack said, rubbing his temples.

"Well, that isn't going too well is it?" Star asked and Jack laughed.

"No not really" Jack answered.

"Well, you might want to control you emotions a little better. That's what gave you away to me" she said with a grin.

"Fair enough. So what do we do when we get back to Hogwarts?" Jack asked and Star shrugged.

"How am I supposed to know? You're the immortal here, you should know what to do" she replied and Jack rolled his eyes.

"That's going to be your excuse for everything now isn't it?" he asked and Star nodded with a huge smirk on her face.

"Yup! Oh by the way, I have something for you!" Star said, rummaging in her pocket for something. Jack edged away lightly.

"It's not going to blow up is it?" Jack asked cautiously.

"Not unless you want them to" Star answered, then turning around and handing Jack a fairly large box. Jack looked at it in surprise.

"How did you fit that in your pocket?" Jack asked and Star swatted her hand.

"Just used a charm Hermione taught me. I've been using it to give the twins their products back when I'm in Umbridge's weird pink office. I was gonna give this to them but I think you would have better use for it. Open it" Star said.

Jack leaned his head back a little as he opened up the box and when he looked inside, he saw a dozen cupcakes, all different colours. "Uh… thanks?" Jack said, looking at them.

"They're not ordinary ones. If you throw them at someone, it blows up, covering them in sticky icing. Made them myself" Star said proudly and Jack grinned.

"So they're like Cupcake Bombs?" he asked.

"You could say that, yes!" she answered.

"Well thanks. I may need them" Jack said, closing the box.

"Star! Jack! You ready?" a voice called from downstairs and Jack recognized Hermione's voice.

"Yes!" he called back. He stood and put the beanie back on his head, picked up the box and his bag and made his way over to the door. "You won't tell anyone will you?" Jack asked and Star pretended to look clueless.

"Tell anyone what?" she asked innocently.

Jack was about to answer but then realized what she meant and she gave him a smirk. "Thanks" he said, then unlocking and opening the door and both of them headed downstairs, not knowing that Death Eaters were having a massive breakout from Azkaban and the Dark Lord's army, along with Pitch Black, was getting stronger by the minute.
