Bunny backed away in horror as the new reformed Jack rose to his feet with a sinister smirk on his face. His eyebrows were knotted into a tight frown as he brushed a piece of snow off his shoulder. Jack then grinned, showing his white teeth which only made him look even more sinister.
"Jack?" Bunny asked cautiously, raising his arms up and held them out to his sides as if coaxing him to take it easy.
"I am not Jack!" the winter spirit spat and it sent shivers down Bunny's spine as he realised Pitch had somehow taken control of his mind.
"Listen to me now…I am not your enemy. Pitch is controlling your mind. Fight him!" Bunny told him but Jack sneered at him.
"He cannot hear you Guardian! But I can...after all…what kind of Guardian can't even save his friends and believers?" he snapped, then raising his hands and to Bunny's shock, energy balls of ice started to form in his open palms; crackling and spitting flakes dangerously.
Bunny couldn't even manage another word as Jack flung the ice pulse at him. He barely dodged it and the pulse created spikey ice patches in the place where Bunny had been standing moments ago.
"I won't let you control him!" Bunny said, preparing to throw out a boomerang but Jack threw another pulse at his feet, freezing them to the floor. Bunny let out a yell as the cold seeped through his body as the grey ice held him down good. As he struggled to break free, Jack laughed at him.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have some business to finish," Jack said as he then began to walk over to the fountain where most of the fearlings were positioned.
"Why you…!" Bunny snarled but was silenced when he felt something break through the ice that was trapping his feet. He looked around to see North, who looked quite worn out, standing next to him.
"What happened? What is wrong with Jack?" he asked, pulling Bunny to his feet.
"That ain't Jack! Pitch has hold of his head!" Bunny said, tapping his feet on the ground in attempt to warm them.
"What?! He wouldn't go that low would he?" North asked but was answered when a maniacal laugh came over from the fountain. He turned to see Jack standing around the edge of it with fearlings surrounding him.
"Need I say anymore?" Bunny asked, pulling out his boomerang as they headed over to Dumbledore, who was helping a barely conscious Harry up.
"How is he?" North asked.
"Weak. He managed to push Voldemort out of his mind but barely," Dumbledore said as Harry got to his feet shakily. He looked around for Voldemort but he wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Nice work mate," Ron said as he came over along with the others.
"Thanks," Harry said with a stutter.
"Where's Frost?" Star asked, who had dirt smears across her face and looked pretty worn out. Hermione, Neville and Ron looked pretty worn out too as well as some additional cuts and bruises. Tooth and Sandy were a little tired but not as beaten up.
"That is our next problem," North said, looking up at the head of the fearlings. Everyone followed his gaze and were shocked as they saw Jack standing there with a sinister grin on his face.
"What happened to him? Looks like he got out of the wrong side of the bed," Star commented as she rubbed the side of her head fondly.
"This is no time for jokes Star!" Hermione said sharply.
"I wasn't joking, look at him!" Star said, raising her hands in surrender.
"Pitch, your argument is with us, not Jack!" North yelled, pointing a sword at him.
"We are the ones who put you in this position in the first place!" Tooth added, rage growing inside her at the fact that he had a hold of Jack's mind. Jack laughed sinisterly.
"Oh but it isn't just about that Toothania. I gave Jack an opportunity to join me once, much like young Harry here when he had the opportunity to kill Bellatrix in return for killing his Godfather. I will not let such a powerful weapon slip through my fingers again thanks to this new trick Voldemort taught me," Jack said, forming an ice pulse in had again as he talked and tossed it hand to hand as if mocking them.
"Jack is not a weapon!" Neville shouted.
"He's a Guardian!" North shouted in agreement.
"Please! He's a fool who creates blizzards and kills millions around the world! He's just like me," Jack said evilly. That made something snap inside Tooth and Jack noticed this. "I would advise you to watch your temper. I can still hurt Jack but I can get away clean," he warned her and Tooth instantly deflated at that comment.
"You won't get away with this!" Harry declared. Jack sniggered as he held the ice pulse in one hand and gave them all a cold smirk.
"I beg to differ Potter," he snapped before throwing the ice pulse down at the floor. As soon as the pulse struck the floor, ice immediately circled outwards and spread out throughout the entire floor.
"Oh no," Ron said, his eyes wide with fear as the ice spread towards the group like a moving carpet. Everyone had to jump to avoid getting caught in the ice spread and Neville fell down after landing back clumsily on his feet. As Star helped him up, Bunny watched in shock as the ice spread even further and started to climb up the walls, coating the tiles in grey frost.
"North, we have to get Pitch outta Jack's head. If he gets out into the open with his powers, he'll put the whole place in an ice age!" Bunny said, trying not to hop about on one foot from the coldness of the ice.
"Such power! I sense even more within him! There is no wizard or witch who can help you now!" Jack yelled, looking down at his hands in admiration while the fearlings neighed like shrill sirens.
"Albus do something please!" North pleaded.
"I cannot undo another being's magic. Jack is the one who has the power here," Dumbledore replied with a solemn expression. Harry, Neville and Ron looked at each other in worry and they turned to face the girls, who were surprisingly having a quiet discussion.
"That could work but it's a small possibility," Hermione said, leaning away from Star and Tooth at last. They whispered it so they were out of Jack's ear shot.
"It's all I can think of but I don't have the heart to say it," Tooth replied and Star cracked her knuckles.
"Insults? Please, this has my name all over it," she said confidently. Bunny came over immediately at the mention of an idea.
"Insults?" he asked.
"Just get his staff," Hermione told the Pooka, who quickly hopped over, whilst kicking a fearling as he went and retrieved the staff and came back over.
"Now what?" Bunny asked.
"I'll explain now. Star, start it off," Hermione ordered. Star nodded in response and took a few steps towards Jack whilst trying not to slip.
"With pleasure," she said smugly.
"What is she doing?" Harry asked as he came over.
"Just watch her and you'll get the idea," Tooth said as Hermione started to whisper the plan to the others who looked bewildered at what they were told. Hermione's stare then told them to go along with it however.
"Oi you!" Star yelled, pointing a finger up at Jack, who then glared down at her. "Yeah I'm talking to you old man!" she snapped.
Jack snarled at her. "Old man? Who do you think you're talking to?" he asked and Star rolled her eyes.
"A guy with a big ego," she replied as she folded her arms.
"You're in no position to dictate terms to me girl," Jack said with a frown.
"Sure I am! I have to be honest with you, I thought that a Nightmare King would be much better than this," Star scoffed as she gestured to the ice around her, causing Jack to raise an eyebrow and for his yellow eyes to flash dangerously.
"Excuse me? What are you implying?" he asked angrily.
"I'm implying that you have no idea what you're doing. You call this a reign of evil? Please, Jack could sneeze and still do better than you," Star responded.
"Yeah, you're so called fearlings? So out of date mate!" Bunny called.
"Boring!" Ron yelled, followed by the nods of the other teenagers.
"How dare you! You dare to speak to me in this manner?" Jack yelled in a rage, a sudden torrent of snow blowing around him like a mini cyclone.
"I do dare! I can't even take you seriously dude! Your fearlings lake any real fear, you can't make a simple snowball and lastly… your mother's dress does not suit you!" Star yelled.
Everyone burst out laughing at that last comment and even Dumbledore was smiling at it. "You insolent brat!" Jack yelled.
A sudden tremor ran through the ground and to everyone's shock, black sand started to come out of Jack's mouth, and formed into the figure of Pitch just in front of Star, who instantly backed away. As soon as the figure of Pitch was complete, the body of Jack Frost slumped to the ground.
"Jack!" Bunny called but it was no use getting to him now. The fearlings had crowded around them all and Pitch was boiling with rage.
"You want to see real fear children? I'll show you real fear!" he yelled, forming black sand in his hand and prepared to throw it at the small group. Sandy instantly got a sand ball of his own ready but it wasn't needed as a gust of cold wind made Pitch lose his aim and for him to be hit with something blue, causing him to be flung across the room and for the fearling to crumble apart.
Clearing their eyes, everyone saw Jack; the real Jack, standing on the floor with his signature smirk on his face. "Is that good enough for you?" he asked.
"You're back!" Tooth yelled happily, tackling him into a hug, and North soon followed.
"Yes…but I need to breathe!" Jack choked out, causing the two to let go of him instantly while the others came around him.
"Good to have you back mate!" Bunny said, hitting him on the back.
"I can't believe that plan worked," Hermione said and Star pretended to look hurt.
"Are you insulting my insults? If so, I am offended!" Star said, placing a hand on her chest, making everyone laugh.
"Here's your staff Jack!" Neville said, giving back the staff, in which Bunny had given him to hold onto.
"Thanks!" Jack said, taking a hold of it so frost patterns reappeared on it. Harry held out his hand to Jack, in which he gratefully shook. Looking up, he seemed baffled at the ice coated ministry. "Did I do that?" he asked.
"Yes, yes you did," North said in amusement.
"Can you undo it?" Ron asked.
"You're asking me that? Nothing is a problem for me, not even old Tom," Jack said smiling and everyone chuckled at that comment.
"Oh but maybe I am," a bone chilling voice said. Everyone turned to see where the voice had come from and saw, to their horror, Voldemort, standing over Pitch, who was covered in patches of frost on the ground.
"Voldemort! Quick, give me some of your strength!" Pitch instructed from his position on the floor. Voldemort looked down at him as if he was a rat.
"I will do no such thing. I thought that your assistance would help me…but it appears you can't dispose of a few children…so I have no further use for you," Voldemort said, raising his wand. Pitch widened his eyes.
"What are you…?" he asked but Voldemort had already made up his mind. Bringing his wand down, Pitch was enveloped in green light, causing everyone to cover their eyes and they heard Pitch's scream echo through their ears. When the light died down, they reopened their eyes to see that Pitch was now gone.
"What did you do?" North asked in shock. That...was unexpected.
"Nothing that concerns you anymore. Now... Harry Potter… it's time for you to die," Voldemort said, then raising his wand at Harry. Jack was the quickest to realise what he was going to do.
"Watch out!" he yelled, then hitting Harry with his staff, knocking him out of the way and then everyone else as Voldemort cast his spell.
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort called and a twisted green beam came from the tip of his wand and struck Jack in the chest.
Bazinga! I used the killing curse! I have been waiting to use that for ages! Yes! I know most of you will say that Jack can't die cause he's immortal but hey, look at the movie, Sandy died didn't he? Whether Jack will live or not, it for me to decide so ya know, about twelve reviews would fit the bill. And might I add, you might think Star is being a Mary Sue but could you picture any of the other characters saying that? Just saying. Cupcakes await you all soon and don't forget about my announcements at the top of the chapter! Bye for now!
