PS this is completely unrelated but has anyone seen the City of Bones movie yet? Me and my friend are going Sunday and were both avid fans of the books. I haven't read all of them yet though! I LOVE MAGNUS :3

She came too slowly, a slight breeze tickling her hair around her face. Her eyes scrunched as she smelled and heard the scents and sounds of the city below. Opening her eyes she saw that the sun was out, but wasn't yet high enough in the sky to suggest yet that it was noon. She turned her head slowly and noticed, startled, that Gabe sat beside her gazing at her quietly. She swallowed the lump that inexplicably placed itself in her throat and croaked out, "Hello."

He smiled at her and gently wound their two hands together, "Hey kiddo how you feeling? You took quite a spill last night. Everyone was worried about you … well maybe besides Missy."

Amy couldn't help the little snort that came out of her and she grinned at Gabe, "Yeah that's not much of a surprise."

They drifted off and Amy froze as she saw and felt Gabe gently trace the scars on her other arm. Unlike the arm that was previously injured this one still retained the scars etched out on her skin in stark relief. She watched as the trickster gently traced over each and every scar, and that was saying something considering there was quite a few. Then he did something that completely took her breath away, he bent over and kissed her forearm right in the center of all the scars gently. Her breath hitched slightly as she watched him. Slowly he raised his head and gave her a smile, a sad one though.

"I am so sorry Amy." he whispered quietly.

Amy frowned at this. She was confused now; why was he sorry for this? It wasn't as if he had taken a razor to her arm and cut her almost every other day. He had no reason to feel guilty in her eyes but yet … he was.

"Gabe? Why are you sorry?" she whispered quietly.

He raised his head and gave her a long sorrowful look, "Because this is my fault. If I wouldn't have left then maybe-"

Amy had pressed a finger against his lips to make him stop talking. She smiled at him warmly and Gabe felt his heart beat loudly in his chest. "Apology accepted Gabe." she said laughing gently at him.

He smiled back at her, "I promise from now on I'm gonna do this right Aimster." He got up from the chair he had pulled out and walked over to her closet. She stared after him with a perplexed frown on her face wondering what he was up to. "You know I could get rid of the marks," he told her as he slowly pivoted back around to look at her. She frowned in confusion at him and he gestured to her arms, "I could get rid of them for you if you want, but it has to be your choice alone. I could make it smooth like a baby's butt all over again." He winked at her and the corner of her mouth twitched up in amusement.

Looking down at her arms she wondered to herself. It had been so long since she had seen her unblemished skin she could barely remember what it looked like never mind what it felt like to not be scarred and marred the way she was. Biting her lip in concentration she picked at the edge of one of the bandages and shrugged.

"Thanks Gabe for the offer but if it's all the same to you I think I'm going to keep them just the way they are." Amy told him confidently.

Gabe raised an eyebrow at her in surprise, "Are you sure? Because no one would judge you Amy if you wanted them gone for good. Fresh start and all."

Gabe watched as a little frown marred her forehead in between her eyebrows. "No Gabe this is a new start and those scars are just a testament to what I have survived and how I'll keep persevering. I'll get better but I need to keep these scars. They can act as a reminder to what I've been through and what I did to myself in my moments of weakness. They'll be a stepping stone and a warning to stay away from the kinds of evil thoughts that went through my mind. I need them, their apart of me just as much as I'm a part of them. Does that make any-" but Amy dropped off in her explanation as Gabe reached over and rubbed a thumb over the frown between her eyebrows.

Her face smoothed out under the gentle caress of his smooth fingers against her pale skin. She smiled gently as she felt his hand cup the right hand side of her face. It felt baby smooth and strong; turning her head she nuzzled into his palm as she had her eyes closed and inhaled his sweet scent. Opening her eyes slowly she took in his peaceful demeanor as he watched her nuzzle his hand gently and his eyes twinkled in happiness, hope and could that be … love?

She turned her head slightly and kissed his palm hesitantly watching for his reaction. Gabe's breath hitched as he watched Amy's gentle treatment and his heart thudded hard in his chest. He could feel butterflies go through his stomach. Never in all his millennia of being on this planet had a human made him feel so strongly until Amy came along. There was just something about her. Slowly he cupped her chin and dragged her forwards.

He watched her closely in case he was reading the signs wrong; he didn't understand how he could, but just to be safe. However, everything was telling him that she wanted this as much as he did. Slowly he lowered his head towards hers. He paused just before her lips and he could feel the quick puffs of air that brushed against his slightly open lips. He saw her eyes fluttering and he leaned over the last centimeter and captured her lips in his.

Amy's eyes closed in bliss as she took in the silky feeling of Gabe's lips against hers. She could feel his insistent pushing against hers and she pushed back. She could taste a candy like residue on his lips probably from a lollipop or something else that he may have eaten earlier. Her heart was fluttering, this was her first kiss! Her first real kiss and she was sharing it with someone she generally cared about. Her heart soared at the thought that Gabe really did care deeply for her and she could feel the butterflies pulsing deep insider her stomach. She smiled into the kiss but gasped as she felt a wet object press against her lips gently yet insistently.

It took her a moment to realize that it was his tongue. Gasping again in shock she opened her mouth slightly to offer him entrance and she moaned deeply as she felt the powerful muscle slip between her parted lips and begin exploring. Her hands reached out and gripped Gabe's shoulders tightly as she thought to hang on to some kind of reality as his tongue made her feel as if she were in heaven. She could feel his strong hands band around her waist and pull her so that their two bodies were collided and meshing together in the most intimate ways possible.

Gabe smirked as he heard the little mews that were issuing from Amy's mouth. His tongue explored her entire mouth running smoothly along her teeth and then coaxing her tongue to play with him. She seemed hesitant at first but slowly became more and more comfortable with the action becoming more and more receptive. Gabe growled deep in his throat as he subdued her tongue easily and felt her shiver against him. His arm tightened like steel bands around her body. No one was going to take her away from him, not even death himself.

The two were so engrossed in each other that they hadn't even realized that the door to the room had opened. The only time they realized was when someone cleared their throat. Amy yanked her mouth away from Gabe's and stared at him in shock; when she tried to move away from him to gain some distance she felt his arms tighten around her and she was forced to sit astride him still.

She blushed deep red at that revelation. 'Oh my goodness when did I end up in his lap?' She silently asked this in quiet mortification. She chanced a glance to see who was at the door and turned beat red at seeing Jazz starring at her in wicked amusement.

"Yes? I don't appreciate being bothered right now Jazz." Gabe huffed at her his eyes sparking slightly in warning and good humor.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted something," Gabe snorted at this and rolled his eyes, "but I was just wondering if you guys wanted to watch that movie still that we were going to earlier?"

Amy quickly nodded and Gabe stared at her with an astonished look on his face, "What?! Amy we were having a good time here until we were rudely interrupted I might add." He said this pointedly as he looked over at Jazz.

She merely raised her eyebrow at him and smirked in amusement, "While I'm glad you two are finally getting freaky and all I would really appreciate it if you avoided my bed. I sleep there."

Gabe huffed in annoyance, "Fine. We'll be right out just, give us a minute."

"Suit yourself." She stated as she closed the door behind her.

Amy looked back over at Gabe and her breath was quickly sucked in as she noticed his heated stare. She bit her lip in nerves as the past few minutes flooded back to her. She could still feel his smooth, strong tongue gliding and toying with hers and it made her shiver slightly in want. Gabe sensed the shiver coarse through her body and rubbed a soothing hand up and down her back. He leaned forwards and placed his forehead against hers.

"There's no rush about anything you know," he told her quietly. Amy gazed at him with their foreheads still pressed tightly together. She nodded her head in understanding, "I just don't want you to think that that's the only thing I want out of you, or that you need to do that to keep me around. So please Amy out of anything don't ever make that assumption about me. I'm not going to pressure or force you into anything you're not ready for yet. We'll go at your own pace, if it's too fast you tell me and if you want something else then we can explore."

Amy blushed at his confession, "I just don't want to disappoint you." she whispered this out quietly.

Gabe pulled away from her slightly and frowned in confusion, "How would you possibly disappoint me?"

"I-I just meant because I'm not experienced what so ever. I'm scared that I'm going to do something wrong or upset you or frustrate you or-"

Gabe had cut her off by quickly sealing her lips with a quick kiss of his own. He pulled away after a few seconds and Amy hesitantly licked her lips as the sweet taste that met her tongue. Gabe's eyes darkened as he watched her actions and he let out a low deep rumble that Amy could feel travel through his body and straight to her core.

"Amy there's almost nothing as natural as doing what we will hopefully do if you're ready one day. The act of loving someone and showing you care is one of the highest forms of self-expression that a person can ever seem to do. I don't want you worried that you're doing something wrong just do what feels naturally to you. Believe me when I say that your body will guide you through everything." he told her this quietly.

She nodded her head and smiled at him. Leaning forward she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him as she looked over his shoulder towards the window. "Thanks Gabe." she whispered quietly to him.

He hugged her back and patted her back. "Hey there's no need for a thank you hun. Let's go see Jazz and the rest of them so that no one ends up dead what do you say?"

She smiled at him and nodded her head, "Sounds good."

They got up from the bed and Gabe quickly gave a light pat to her butt which made her blush and hurry towards the door. She heard him snicker behind her as he followed her but otherwise didn't bother to embarrass her further.

They joined Lance, Jazz and Missy in the living room. Jazz was fiddling around with the DVD player and Missy merely watched her with thinly veiled impatience.

"Do you need any kind of help over there Tinker Bell or do you think you'll figure it out?" Missy asked in annoyance.

Jazz huffed and blew air out of her cheeks, "How about you shut it before I decide to find a way to use you as a DVD player and then we'll see who gets the last laugh."

Missy's eyes narrowed at the elf but otherwise didn't say anything. Lance gave a small laugh under his breath and popped some popcorn into his mouth as he lay back on some cushions with the bowl on his stomach. Gabe and Amy perched themselves on the other couch and watched Jazz struggle with the player for a few more seconds.

Just when Amy thought she would need to help her friend she heard her utter a small "Eureeka!" and the screen went dark with the movie beginning to play.

Amy reached over to grab some popcorn and popped some into her mouth, "Hey by the way what movie did you guys even decide on watching?"

"Oh it's called Drag Me To Hell." Jazz said conversationally.

Amy choked on the popcorn and spat it out while Missy started laughing from the other chair beside them.

"Well isn't that just a fitting movie to watch right now at all times."

Amy kept silent but otherwise had to agree with her.

After the Movie

~x~

The movie ended and Amy found herself curled into Gabe's side by the time the ending credits began rolling down the screen. Lance was snoring peacefully on the other couch, the popcorn bowl hanging precariously from his fingers and touching the ground. Jazz was sitting wide eyed almost directly right in front of the TV not even moving. Missy stretched along the entirety of the couch and scoffed at the short, playful pixie.

"Wow Jazz if you let your mouth sit like that any longer bees can start building their own hive in there." she told the elf in disgust.

Snapping her jaw shut she glared at Missy and snapped the movie off. The TV was playing some kind of news bulletin but otherwise went unnoticed by the rest of them.

Amy nuzzled her face on Gabe's chest and her arm that was wrapped around his waist tightened involuntarily. She could feel him shift slightly against her body and then relax in a weightless posture as he gazed at the screen. She could smell the sweet scent of candy on him, along with honey, some kind of spice like cinnamon, and mint. Smiling she couldn't help it as her mouth stretched into a wide grin. His arm that rested around her shoulders tightened and then began to stroke her soothingly. The movie itself hadn't scared her but she didn't want to move from the trickster's protective embrace that he kept around her body. She lifted her head and smiled at him. He smiled gently back down at her and leaned over. She closed her eyes as she felt the gentle kiss of his lips in between her brows. Laying her head back down, she closed her eyes in contentment.

Gabe grinned as he watched her close her eyes. He couldn't help the swell of pride that took over him as he felt her body relax, boneless, once again into his own. She was so pliable beneath his hands. His eyes slitted in pleasure he couldn't help the smile that quirked the ends of his mouth. For the first time in thousands of years he felt a kind of peace envelop him at her presence. He had always felt this way with Amy around before, but now it seemed even more pronounced; maybe because they had come clean to one another about how they really felt towards each other.

"Okay Amy Ineed to talk to you about your training." Missy said as she sat up. She looked over at the two of them sitting nestled against each other and rolled her eyes. It made her sick to see such happy people sometimes.

Amy frowned as she was disturbed from her peaceful rest; cracking her eyes open into little slits she glared at Missy through them. "I think it can wait, can't you?" Closing her eyes again she took that to be the end of the conversation, unfortunately for her however, Missy wasn't letting her off the hook so easily.

"No actually it can't," she told her in her no nonsense bossy manner. "The sooner the better; or otherwise you're in danger of taking out whole city blocks … or worse. So I suggest that you guys queue the PDA for a later date."

Frowning at the bossy headed, blonde, model, Amy sat up. Gabe's hand dropped off her shoulder and she forced herself to brush off the pain of longing that went through her at the limited contact. Jazz was staring at them from the floor right where the DVD player was, and Lance's snoring seemed to have stopped.

"Look Missy I don't want to "blow up" city blocks, alright? I don't. But your big training program is going to have to be put on the back burner for another day or so because me and Gabe are going out tomorrow; and since I promised this a few days back it's happening. So please don't try to make me do something I don't want to do and lay off." Amy hissed all of this out. She hadn't even realized that as she was going off on her tirade she was standing nose to nose with the blonde nephilim.

"You mean you can't put off a stupid date for another few days? You've been waiting for this for, what, how long exactly? Like over a year. It can wait." Missy brushed off everything she had just said with a dismissive wave of her hand.

Amy fumed bright red at her dismissive talk and grabbed her shoulder; she spun her around and glared at her. Missy seemed slightly taken aback by the physical display of dominance that she was emitting but right now she couldn't seem to dredge up the amount of emotion it would take to care. Gritting her teeth she remarked lowly to her, "And that is exactly why it can't wait Missy. See you wouldn't understand that; you think, because you've always been able to get any boy you've wanted, I'm sure, that something like this is underrated and can wait. I assure you though that this cannot, so back the hell off. I told you my training is going to have to wait at least another day, and another day it's going to wait."

Missy swallowed nervously at the end of Amy's announcement. Unbeknownst to Amy, but what was clear to her and Jazz, her eyes were beginning to spark dangerously. They seemed to turn an even deeper shade of blue at present and the slight smell of ozone was starting to taint the air.

"Okay girls let's just take a little breather here!" remarked Gabe loudly as he stood up and walked between them. "I think Amy has made a great point here, you both have, and Missy, I see no harm in waiting one more day. So Amy and I will go out tomorrow and that's the end of that; I'll keep an eye on her don't worry nothing will happen."

With that Gabe grabbed Amy's hand and led her out of the room. They all listened as the sound of their footsteps go fainter down the hallway until they couldn't hear their whispered conversation anymore. Jazz looked at Missy; Lance's eyes were open as well, but he hadn't said anything yet.

"Missy it's just one more day I'm sure everything will be fine." Jazz remarked gently. It surprised her that she was worried about the blonde drama queen but she couldn't shake the somewhat nervous state the girl seemed to be in.

Missy heard what Jazz had to say but she couldn't shake a bad feeling enveloping herself either. Shaking her head she turned around and began to walk towards the balcony French doors.

"When does it ever go the right way though?" she asked as she passed through the door.

Jazz and Lance shared a concerned glance; it wasn't like Missy to show any kind of weakness. Something was wrong. They sat in silence as the ozone slowly faded from the room.
