It had been a long week, they had been out on patrol day in and day out and he was tired. But something was buzzing. Robin looked around between the fatigued faces of the men sitting with him, trying to place the humming sound. The spaces in between the buzzes were getting shorter and shorter, and the pulses becoming longer and longer until suddenly, he realized what it was.

Robin looked down, seeing the flashing lights going off in his upper pant pocket. He removed his phone seeing the little icon that symbolized a new message and he felt his breath catch.

It was from Regina. He clicked it, watching her message pop up.

Leather or lace?

Robin felt his heart jump. His pulse quickening, palms sweating. It had only been a week. A week that he had been away from her, but it was already a week to long. He hadn't spent a single night apart from her since they had gotten engaged a year prior. However she had agreed that he needed to be there with his men in order to help them defend the town line, as long as he agreed to return to her, promptly at five, on the fifth night. He hadn't thought much of it at the time, thinking nothing about the specifications of the request, however now he was beginning to wonder. Tonight was the fifth night.

He looked back down at the text again, feeling his stomach flip. All she had to do was say three words and he was reduced into nothing more than a young boy with a crush. He would never cease to be amazed by that woman and the power she held over him.

He typed his response as quickly as his fingers would allow.

What?

I have a surprise for you, but first you have to pick one. Leather or lace?

Robin gulped, he had no idea what she was referring to but something told him that he would like it, whatever it was. So he responded.

Both?

Robin.

What? I don't have any clue what you're talking about! Maybe if you gave me a hint?

No.

He snorted. That was just like her. He typed back.

Well then my answer stays the same.

Robin, choose one or else you wont get either.

Robin felt a smug smile form on his face. He was just about to respond when the gruff voice of his best mate, Little John, burst into his ear from right over his shoulder, breaking his train of thought.

"Oi! Robin! Find something amusing over here?"

Robin jumped, nearly dropping the phone. He caught it quickly, desperately searching for the button on the top of the device to lock the screen. It went black just in time as he turned, seeing the overly large man peering nosily over his shoulder.

"John! What the hell mate?!" Robin exclaimed.

Little John's extremely obtuse eyebrows raised.

"Jumpy are we?"

"No more than I normally am when someone sneaks up on me." Robin answered with a raise of his brow.

John tilted his head down, giving him a look. Robin felt his face begin to light in embarassment under his friends penetrating gaze. He was about to tell him to 'sod off' but the clearing of the large mans throat stopped him.

"Alright then, look alive." He said.

Robin nodded.

The moment that his friend walked away, joining the other men in the camp, he regrabbed his phone, retrieving it from where he had haistly stuffed it up his sleeve. Noting that it had been three minutes since he had recieved her last text he quickly tapped the screen, typing out his response in the hopes that he hadn't missed his window of opportunity.

Fine. Leather... and then lace(;

He sent the message, holding his breath as he waited for her response.

A moment later the device buzzed.

Too late.

He groaned. Damnit John!

He knew he was late when he arrived home to a dark house. He quickly turned his head, finding the clock in the hallway. 8:15. Damn. She was going to be pissed.

He called out for her but there was no answer. Only silence.

Dropping the duffle bag that he had on his arm to the floor, he made his way into the foyer, using his foot to shut the door behind him.

"Regina-" he said again, peering into the sitting room. Nothing.

He walked through the kitchen, into the laundry room and out onto the back patio. No Regina.

Coming to the conclusion that she wasn't downstairs he turned, making his way back to the foyer and towards the staircase. He called out her name once again when he was halfway up the stairs. Silence.

Robin huffed, reaching the top of the landing, starting to feel his stomach beginning to turn.

It wasn't until he heard the tell tale creak of the floorboard next to their bed emanating from under the crack between their door and the hallway that he knew for sure. She was there.

With a relieved smile, he made his way to the entrance of their room, turning the handle and opening the door.

The moment it swung open he felt his jaw drop.

Their room, which had been completely bare when he had left, save for her massive bed and few paintings and mirrors that adorned the walls, had been completely transformed.

Now, where her favorite pictures of her, Henry and Roland sat, there were little garnishes. The sheets of the bed had been changed from cotton to silk and were turned down. The lights had been turned off, unnecessary due to the dozens of candles placed on every surface. Now, however, only a few of them sat flickering.

For a moment Robin was stunned, frozen to the spot.

Once he got over the initial shock, and felt his brain return to him, he instantly realized what was off. She still wasn't there.

Taking a step inside, Robin made his way closer to the bed in search of her.

Nothing. He turned around.

"Regina, I know you're in here." He said, whispering into the darkness.

Knowing that she couldn't have gone far, he paused, holding his breath in order to listen better, trying to pick up any trace of her.

He heard it a moment later.

Something to his left rustled and he immediately turned his head in the direction of the noise.

There, caught between the doors leading to the bathroom and the closet, stood Regina hidden in the shadows. From the odd placement of where she was standing Robin assumed that she had been just about to leave the room. Almost as if she had been trying to hide away in the bathroom. Odd.

"Regina, what are you doing?" He found himself asking.

For a moment she didn't answer, it was almost as if she thought that if she were to stay as quite as possible maybe he would forget she was there and move on. Robin felt his brows scrunch.

"Regina?" He said again, this time taking a step closer.

"You're late."

There was something about her voice. Something about it that made a cold shiver of doubt run through him. She wasn't mad at his tardiness like he had expected. Instead she was quite. Her voice, emotionless. Something was off.

"I know." He responded, taking another step.

"No, stop!" She shouted.

Robin nearly jumped at her strangled outburst, his hands immediately flying up in terms of surrender.

"Regina what's going on?! Are you alright?"

There was another moment. Since he could barely see her, all of his other senses kicked into overdrive and he picked up a quite sniffle.

Finally he saw the shadows shift as she took a step forward. He still couldn't make her features out, but he could see her outline.

"What took you so long?"

Robin took a step back, finding the edge of the bed, "I was caught up with Little John and the Merry Men. There were reports of possible sightings along the western part of the perimeter and we moved out before I realized the time."

"And you didn't call?"

Robin pulled out the small device that she had given him on their anniversary last year, "Phone died."

She had taken another step forward, her figure right at the edge of the silvery light from the moon that was streaming in through the window. Robin saw her head nod in understanding however she advanced no further.

"Regina what's going on?" He asked again, letting himself sit down on the bed behind him.

He could tell she was about the step forward again, when she paused. Her eyes flickered up, even in the darkness he could tell when she was looking at him and right now she was studying him.

Finally she stepped forward into the light and Robin felt his breath catch.

She was dressed from head to toe in black. A perfect leather dress clung to her body, highlighting her curves. A ring of charcoal black outlined her eyes, calling attention to the smokey orbs. Her hair was down, curled out perfectly at the ends and the shade of red that was on her lips did things to his lower regions.

She looked bold and powerful, but there was something about her presence that seemed off.

"I-" she said.

It only took a word for him to realize what it was. He knew that sound anywhere. For with her, she used it so little that he world recognize it heart beat. She was hurt. Looking up he saw past her attire and found the unshed tears glistening in her eyes like diamonds.

"Regina," He whispered, standing up again, his hand automatically reaching out to cup her face. He ran his finger over her cheek, feeling the soft skin sliding underneath.

The moment that he swiped his finger back a single tear escaped from her eye, making a glistening trail down her cheek. He caught it on the tip of his thumb, wiping it away softly before bringing his other hand up and running it through her hair. Her eyes closed at the sensation and he felt her head lean ever so softly into his caress. He continued his ministrations, running his finger down her cheek and to the corner of her lips. When he reached them he whispered her name again.

Her voice was broken when she spoke and he felt his heart shatter into a million pieces because of it.

"I thought you weren't coming back."

"Why would I not come back?" He asked, utterly confused. Was she really thinking he could ever leave her?

No. That was absurd, Robin thought, she knew he would never leave her. But the tears now streaming in little rivulets down her face made him think otherwise.

"When you didn't answer my call I thought that maybe - maybe something had happened to you. And I-"

"Regina nothing happened. I'm fine," He said, brushing his finger over her cheek again. Threading his right hand into her hair he held her close. He had never seen her like this "What is this about?"

She took in a shaky breath.

"I missed you."

Robin released a breathy laugh, relief flooding through his system.

"Dear God, is that all? You had me so worried!" He laughed again, kissing her head and whispering into her hair, "I missed you too."

But she didn't laugh. In fact, if it was possible, her face fell even further.

Robin gripped her tighter, feeling her begin to shake. Worried, he removed his hand from her face, cupping her chin. "Regina what's wrong love? This can't just be from you missing me?" He said, adding when she didn't answer, "What aren't you telling me?"

She took in a deep breath and her hands came up, wrapping around his. Robin watched in horror as more tears began to fall. She still hasn't spoken and he was beginning to become truly frightened.

Slowly she lowered his hands, grasping them inside of her palms, bringing them down from her face. Stopping only when they reached her stomach.

She placed them on her abdomen, flipping his wrists so that his palms touched her. All he could feel was the cool of the her leather dress and the curve of her stomach.

"Regina, I-" He began but she cut him off.

Robin was confused. He flicked his eyes up in search of answers but he was met with nothing, her eyes were still focused on where their hands were connected, running over her stomach.

He was about to question again when he felt it.

He knew her body and he knew it well. He prided himself on the fact that in the two short years that they had been together he had gotten to know it so well, he sometimes stunned her with his knowledge about her inner workings.

He knew where to touch to make her sigh and where to caress her to make her moan. He knew where to kiss her to make her go weak in the knee's and the exact spot behind her ear to suck on to make her eyes roll back. He knew that she was a sucker for long and leisurely kisses after making love however knew that she preferred a bit of nibbling every once in a while to shake things up.

He knew her every contour, her every curve. He knew the way her body was pieced together like he knew his own name, but this, this was new.

He ran his hands over her stomach again, feeling the difference and then let out a gasp.

She had grown. He knew it was very possible for her to have gained weight in the week that he had been away from her but due to the odd behavior and the tears that were still coursing down her face he assumed it was something different.

"Regina," he breathed.

Slowly she raised her head, her wet eyes meeting his.

No longer were they sad nor full of fear. Now they almost appeared to be twinkling, the tears catching the light from the moon, glistening.

"I told you I had a surprise." She whispered, a small watery smile appearing on her face.

Robin felt his mind whirl. Her texts from before, her promise that she had a surprise for him, it was all coming back, piecing together like a puzzle.

When he finally put it all together he felt his heart stop.

"This was not at all what I as expecting," he heard himself say as the shock over came him.

She blinked. Her eyes instantly loosing their sparkle. When she spoke again, all of her conviction was gone, replaced by the small, timid voice from before.

"Are you disappointed?"

Robin shook his head, trying to rid himself of the shock.,"No. How could you say that? Regina are you-"

She nodded once.

"This is amazing." He breathed.

"Is it?"

Her eyes found his and Robin could see the fear that had set in, deeply ingrained in her brown orbs. He moved his hand which had fallen slack at her side, re-burrowing it into her hair, tangling with the locks, the other holding her waist.

"Of course." He said, feeling a smile grow on his lips at the same time as his brows knitted together, "Regina, why are you questioning?"

She shook her head.

"Because we hadn't talked about this -" she stated, taking a shaky breath, "And I only began to see the signs the night you left and didn't know where you stood on the prospect of more kids, and when I finally realized what was going on it was too late - you were already long gone. Then I took the test this morning and messaged you, and I'd had a Valentines night surprise planned out for you but I got the results back right after I finished messaging you and that put a stop to that. So when you didn't come home, I was worried and then I began to wonder if you would accept the news, and if so, I worried that this was a glimpse of what our life was going to be like. Me being home and you being out. Me always unsure of whether or not you're going to make it back safely." She said, running out of breath.

Robin wrapped his arm around her, gripping her waist. He heard her surprised gasp, feeling her breath hit his cheek as he pulled her close. He brought his hand up to her cheek, running his fingers through her hair soothingly.

His eyes found hers, blue meeting glassy brown.

"Regina," He said, stopping her as her mouth began to open, "I'm here. You're not getting rid of me that easily."

He ran a hand through her hair, tucking a strand behind her ear, cupping her face.

"When I asked you to marry me, I made a vow, M'lady, to be by your side forever. I will never leave you, I plan to be with you always and forever. No matter what. And, this," he said, placing his free hand on her stomach, "This is a blessing."

The tears that were in her eyes doubled as she whispered, "Really?"

"Yes, of course! Regina, we're having a child! What could be better than that?"

"You don't think this is to many? You have your son, I have mine-"

"Ours." Robin cut her off, grabbing her hand that boasted the ring he had given her, and holding it in his own. It was small, the diamond wasn't nearly as big as any of the ones she had worn as Queen of the Enchanted Forest. But she had said she loved it and it glittered and glistened whenever she moved, making his heart soar every time he saw it.

At that, a small appeared on her face, as she repeated his statement of 'ours'. He had told her when they had gotten engaged that he had known ever since the day she had saved Roland, back in the forest, that she was the one for him. He hadn't known how and he hadn't known why then, at the time the very thought of being with her scared him. Not because of who she was but because of who he was. The moment she had scarified herself in order to save his son, he had seen past her evil facade. He knew the kindhearted and caring soul that was in her, buried underneath layers and layers of hurt and betrayal and he hadn't seen himself as worthy enough to be the one to show her. But he couldn't shake the feeling that he got whenever he was around her.

She made him feel something, something he hadn't felt in a long time. Or ever, if he was honest.

The moment he had arrived in Storybrooke he had missed his home in the forest of Sherwood. But the second that the curse had broken and his memories returned, he found himself not longing for a place, but for a person. Her. Home for him had always been where his heart was and now she had his heart. With her he was home.

Feeling his heart swell, Robin took a deep, running the pads of his fingers over the drying tear stains on her cheeks.

"Never." He answered, staring straight into her eyes, "In fact I look forward to having many more with you."

He heard the small gasp that came from her but he didn't see her eyes go wide, for he brought his lips to hers, sealing them with a kiss passionate enough to chase every one of her fears away.

He meant it to be sweet and innocent, only to comfort and console, but as she wrapped her hands around him, her fingers sinking into his hair, he couldn't help it. She ran her tongue along his lip, and he deepened the kiss. In moments there was nothing but short breaths and hands on skin.

He ran his down her sides, gripping her tightly to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Robin groaned, feeling her toned body press tightly against his, the cool leather of her dress clinging to her like a second skin.

When she moaned into his mouth he lost his control and picked her up. Flipping her round, he leaned her back and dropped down on the bed.

Regina chuckled as her head hit the pillows. Her hands were still on him, now ripping at his shirt.

He helped her, leaning back to pull it over his head before coming back down, sucking on her right earlobe.

She moaned.

He continued his ministrations, moving lower and leaving kisses and nibbles down her neck.

He could feel her writhing in the sensations underneath him. He knew she loved this and that was what he wanted to do. He wanted to show her that he loved her. He wanted tell her flesh with his lips and her soul with his heart. He wanted every part of her to know that he was there for her, completely, fully and incandescently hers.

Robin wound his hands around her back, finding the zipper of her dress and sliding it down. The moment he removed it, starting to unhook the clasp of her bra, she stopped him.

"Wait," he heard her say.

Robin stopped, pulling back to stare into her eyes. He was confused. For a moment he was worried that she had regressed back into her nervous state, but the moment his eyes met hers he knew that wasn't true.

Her eyes, which were usually a shade of light brown, were so dark they looked like the bark of the tall tall oak trees that grew only in the deepest parts of Sherwood Forest. Staring into them, he smiled and she mimicked him before lifting her hands.

Her eyes flicked to the side and Robin followed them, spotting the candles that were lining the room. With a flick of her wrist she lit them, casting the room into a warm amber glow.

The light danced on her skin and she looked back at him, her smile now transformed into a full out smirk.

When she arched her back, in order to unhook her bra herself, her breasts pressed into his chest and he released a groan.

Tossing the garment to the side she fell back, reaching for one of the hands that he was currently using to support himself above her. Gripping it in her own, she moved his hand down her body. Reaching the curve of her stomach she rested them there, intertwining her fingers with his. Robin felt his breathing hitch as he remembered yet again what was growing there. A child. Their child.

A long time back she had told him of the condition that she had that made her unable to produce a child. Even if he had been blind he would have been able to see the great sadness that it caused her.

That night he had held her, stroking her back, his fingers running through her hair soothingly. Whispering into her ear that she was enough. He didn't need a child from her to prove their love. He loved her regardless. But now, now they were having one. Robin felt his eyes begin to tear.

They were going to have a child of their very own.

He wasn't sure how but he assumed it had to do with the magic that they carried inside of themselves. She had told him one night of the bond that they shared - soul mates - and he surmised that it must have to do with her new found ability to conceive. But whether it was due to them being soul mates, or some miraculous intervention, he would take it.

This was her dream, he knew it.

She had always wanted to be a mother. She had raised her son, Henry with every ounce of love in her heart, loving him like he was her own, and when she had met Roland she had done the same. And even though Robin knew her love for them would never fade, he knew that this was different.

This was their child. One born of pure love. Their love.

He grinned, looking back down at her to see a beaming smile reflected on her face.

He looked into his soon-to-be wife's eyes and was about to let himself drown in the rapture of it all but before he could she quickly raised her other hand, wrapping it around his neck and crashing her lips to his.

xxx

Lazy rays of warm light flickered in through the kitchen window.

"Sugar?"

"Yes, please."

Robin turned, grabbing the glass container of sweeteners off the counter and reached into the cupboard.

"Herbal or ..."

"Black," She answered, "As in coffee."

"Regina," he sighed. She shook her head in annoyance, beginning to stand. As she did his hands instantly shot out to steady her as she stumbled a little.

"I'm pregnant Robin, not immobile."

"Yes I know that proved it last night."

From the reddened cheeks and the slight smirk that grew on her face he knew he had got her.

Once her feet were firmly planted on the ground he let go slightly, only to move his hands from her waist to her hips. "And I do believe you owe me M'lady."

Regina's eyes sparkled as she raised one meticulously groomed brow. "I do, do I?"

"Oh aye." He responded, feeling a small smirk grow on his face.

"If I remember correctly you asked me to choose between leather or lace, but I picked both. Well, I've seen the leather," he said, remembering her very suggestive dress from the night before, "but there has been no lace."

A small smile threatened to blossom on Regina's lips but he could tell that she was trying her hardest to keep it locked down. However, from the way that her lips continued to curve up, against her will, he could tell she was quickly losing the battle.

"Funny you mention," She said, breaking him from his trance like thoughts about her lips.

There was now a smile on her mouth. Robin watched as her eyes began to sparkle mysteriously and then her smile turned into a smirk.

Her hand dropped down, running over the exposed skin of her neck, touching her collarbone as she went. He followed her fingers with rapt attention as they ran over the silk of her robe, tracing the opening until they stopped, right above her breasts.

He felt his breath catch as she began to part the material slightly to the side.

Centimeter by centimeter he watched with baited breath until he caught a glimpse of her bra. It was white. Perfectly innocent, simple and pure, however as she opened the robe further he noticed one thing. It was made entirely out of lace.

Robin's throat went dry, seeing the outline of her breasts clearly through the sheer fabric. He could make out their supple weight and the dusty color of her nipples clearly and his hands shot out. He pulled at the silk of her robe, untying the knot and helping her rid herself of the offending article more quickly.

He only saw a flash of her white teeth as her smirk widened before his mouth descended on hers. She moaned into the kiss, her hands coming up and rustling through his hair. He placed his on her hips, gripping her firmly before moving them down, running them underneath her and raising her up. She gasped.

In an instant she was on top of the counter. Robin stepped forward, parting her legs and stood in between them.

He kissed her until he couldn't breathe anymore. Breaking apart, he took a step back, hearing her gasp for air.

Her eyes were closed, lips parted. He knew she was waiting for him to bring his lips to hers again, but he didn't. He waited.

Moments later her eyes finally fluttered opened, chocolate brown meeting his. He could tell she was searching him for some sort of explanation but he chose to stay silent.

Raising his hand, Robin tucked a single strand of curled hair behind her ear, just smiling. A happy smile appeared on her face as well, however her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.

Robin grinned wider, taking in her gorgeous olive skin and wide eyes. His eyes scanned over her, zoning in on each of the beautiful features that made her her until he heard her voice.

"What are you doing?" she whispered.

"Imagining how beautiful our daughter is going to be when she ends up looking like you."

Regina's eyebrows shot up.

"Our daughter?"

He nodded.

"What makes you so sure she's going to be a girl?" She asked.

Robin shrugged, "Hunch."

She shook her head, opening her mouth to speak again however he silenced her, leaning in and kissing her deeply.

"Regina," he whispered as he pulled back, placing a kiss on her nose before resting his forehead against hers.

"Yes?"

"Happy Valentines. I love you."
