Chapter 22 – It's Not Baroque
Dean stood in the MOL garage, looking over his fabulous stable of cars. Which one to start on? He wanted to make sure that they were all in perfect condition. He loved the Impala most of all, of course, but a few of these other cars had caught his wandering eye. He hoped the Impala wouldn't get jealous or consider it cheating if he took another one out for a spin.
Standing there thinking, he was engulfed in warm arms. He jumped then realized it was just Sam.
"Damn, little brother, for a big beast of a guy you sure can sneak up on a person."
"You thinking of going out for a ride?" Sam rumbled in his ear.
I was thinking of doing a little maintenance work then going out for a ride," Dean answered. "But, you know what they say, if it's not Baroque."
Sam finished the old joke, "Then don't fix it." He laughed.
Sam tightened his arms around his brother. "You know, sometimes I wish we could go out together. I wish I could show you off, that we could walk down the street together and everyone would know you belong to me, that you love me and although you are beautiful on the outside, inside you are just as beautiful."
"But no," Sam sighed. "They catcall and sneer. They shout. We don't like what we don't understand, in fact it scares us, and these monsters are mysterious at least…"
Dean patted Sam's hand "Don't talk like that. You'll be alright. We're together now; everything's going to be fine, you'll see."
"And if people stare and sneer since, you know, you can be a real beast sometimes, all proud and preening," Dean paused. "You know that I love you still."
Sam exhaled and laid his check on his brother's soft hair.
"Yes, thank you." Sam kissed his brother's cheek. "You are my Beauty."
"The true Belle of my heart."
