Edward walked her in and Rosalie growled. Emmett placed a hand on her back and she leaned against him. Bella walked in shyly and smiled.
"I know." She said simply. Rosalie threw her hands up. "Really Edward! You told her again, we could have had our life back. Do we not matter to you?"
"Rose!" Esme shouted. Rosalie glanced at her but her attention was on Edward.
Edward started walking towards her and Emmett stood. "Edward." He put a hand out to stop him. Edward pushed him and rushed at Rosalie, Carlisle cut him off and stared at him. "Enough."
Rosalie growled again. "What about the Volturi, we could have been in the clear." Edward froze and looked at Carlisle. "Something to deal with later."
Bella backed up and ended up bumping into Jasper. She fell clumsily against him and he helped her. "Whoa there little lady." He said, softly.
Bella turned and smiled up at him. He gave a shy smile back. She just continued to stare, admiring his short blonde curly hair. "Jasper…right?" She said finally.
He nodded and let her hand go once she looked steadied. Alice frowned a little and looked at Edward. Jasper smiled again and moved around her and made his way over to Alice.
He sat down on the couch and Alice sat next to him and leaned against him. "So, you know about us and things does knowing bring back any other memories?" she asked with a smile.
Bella forced her eyes away from Jasper and shook her head. " I've been trying to remember…"
Alice smiled wide and Bella sat on the couch next to Jasper. Edward went and kneeled next to her. "Do you remember us?"
She sighed. "I know you…but like I said I just want to remain friends till everything is done and I now for sure…"
"Know what for sure?" She paused and looked around at everyone, then back at Edward. " I just want to feel like I know my surroundings."
Rosalie grunted and shook her head. Edward rolled his eyes. "Just so you know Rose, I didn't tell her she figured it out."
Bella smiled. " I want to remember, I wonder how long it will take."
Carlisle stepped up. "Its different for everyone. It depends on what triggers memories…some take longer than others."
Bella nodded slowly, feeling slightly uncomfortable thinking back to the image that flashed in her mind. Her phone rang and she answered and walked away from the crowd.
Alice chuckled. " Does she know we can still hear her?" Edward chuckled with her. Bella checked the name and sighed, she answered slowly.
"Hello?"
"Bella?! Are you hurt? Where are you?" Jacob shouted in the phone.
"Yes, No, calm down. I'm fine, I'm with Edward."
The line went silent for a moment, and then she heard rustling.
"Bella?" She heard the pain in his voice and gave a small sigh.
"Yes, Paul?
"I'm so sorry."
"I know. What happened today?"
"I'm going to come get you. I just have to... No objections." Then he hung up. She sighed and walked back slowly and Edward frowned.
"You don't have to go with him." He said trying to stay calm. She opened her mouth to ask him how he knew but shut it, she gave a half shrug instead.
"I know, I'm sorry, I need to see him and make sure he is alright. I don't want anything to happen if I do try to object either"
He grabbed her and looked her in the eye. "You need to think." She shrugged him away. "Sorry that everything is changing but this is how it is."
It didn't take long for the bell to ring. Edward went to open it, but Carlisle stopped him and went for the door. "Hello Paul."
He huffed and looked for Bella. "Bella!" She ran out from the room and smiled at him. " Paul." He gave a small smile and reached to grab her, Edward eyed him and frowned. "Be careful with her."
Paul eyes snapped to him. " I don't think you have the right to say that after what you did."
Bella stepped in front of Edward. "Stop." She looked back at Edward. "We should do this again, it was fun and I want to know more." Paul snorted and grabbed Bella's hand and pulled her out the house. He led her to his car; she looked back at everyone before getting in. Paul drove off before any other words could be said.
Rosalie made her way to the front and stood in front of Edward. "So what. If she doesn't choose you…you're going to give yourself to the Volturi again?"
"Rose!" Alice shouted moving to the front. Rosalie shook her head. " No, I want to know."
Edward just looked at her. "She is going to choose me." Esme touched his shoulder and he sighed. " I just know it."
Bella gripped Pauls arm "Slow down!"He chuckled and the car came to a complete stop. "No need, we are here."
She sighed and he got out and opened her door. They walked down to the bank and he splashed her with some water, she giggled and splashed him back. They smiled at each other for a moment.
His face got serious and she frowned. "Paul?" He met her eyes and looked away. "Can I be honest with you Bella?" She nodded and he walked up on her.
"I have an attachment to you... I don't ever want to part from you." Bella gasped and he leaned in slowly and kissed her; the kiss was gentle and she leaned into it.
He pulled away after a moment and she continued to breath heavily. "Then don't." She said after a while.
Paul smiled and hugged her. Bella jumped when suddenly an ear-piercing howl fill the air. Paul shook his head then chuckled slowly.
Bella pressed to him. "What was that?" He stroked her hair. " An angry wolf."
She cocked his head and he laughed. " Come on lets go eat." He grabbed her hand and led her up to the house.
Sam raised an eyebrow at them but didn't say a word. Embry ran up to Paul and high fived him. Leah growled, " Just can't get enough of Bella! Everything's about Bella"
Bella frowned. "Why do you have a problem with me?" Leah chuckled. "You are everyone's problem."
Paul stepped in front of Bella. " If you have a problem with her you have a problem with me."
Leah scoffed. "You don't scare me, She'll probably end up dead sooner or later with you anyway." Paul's breathing sped up and he began shaking. Leah smirked and dropped her arms.
Sam shook his head. " Bella get back!" She jumped and Emily quickly grabbed her and moved her back.
Paul transformed and Leah quickly followed sue, Paul snarled and attacked Leah. Bella gasped and looked at everyone; confused by their lack of confusion. "What is going on!"
The two very large wolfs continued to fight. "Don't be scared Bella." Sam said after a moment. The growling started to fade as the two wolfs rolled into the woods.
Bella looked confused and contemplated on running. Sam noticed her confusion and touched her shoulder. "Its fine." Paul ran out the woods and ran up to Bella. "You okay?"
She nodded slowly. "This changes things." Paul put some space between them and frowned. "Changes things how?" He said slowly.
She reached for him and he grabbed her hand. " I'm not afraid and I didn't mean it like that."
"How did you mean it?" He said after a while. "You're much more than I thought."
"Much more than that Cullen." he spat. She bit her lip softly. "You don't know?"
He raised an eyebrow at her. "Know what?"
She stuttered for a moment before pulling him towards her and kissing him. The pack whistled and whooped Sam looked towards the road. Jacob stepped out the trees and scoffed "This doesn't mean a thing." He shouted. Bella jumped and Paul put a protective arm around her. "Chill Jacob."
"Chill?" Jacob pushed past Seth and stopped in front of Paul. "Bella. You don't love him. Hell you don't even like him!"
"I know what I want Jacob…and its him." Bella said holding her ground, Paul smirked behind her.
"You don't know what you want! Try to remember." He shouted at her. She scoffed and grabbed Paul's hand. "Bella..." Jacob shook his head and stormed in the house.
Leah looked at Bella and rolled her eyes. " Its like you had the chance to fix everything and somehow the second time around you've managed to make everything a whole lot worse."
"Cool it Leah." Seth piped in. She curled her lip and ran after Jacob letting the screen door close with a crack.
Paul looked at Bella and felt a strange tingle and wanted to be with her even more. He pulled her hair playfully and skipped back, she laughed and swung at him. He kicked some sand up at her and ran, she giggled and was close behind.
Emily looked at Sam. "Is it love or the imprint?" Sam shrugged. "When she realizes the Cullen boy has her heart." Emily started. "Paul would be so crushed and you know how he is. His anger.. everything about this situation worries me."
Sam kissed her cheek and ran his fingers through her hair. "That's Something we will have to worry about when the time comes." He walked over and picked up a volleyball and whooped. The pack whooped back and started up a game of volleyball; Paul and Bella's laughs could be heard every now and then.
Jacob watched them running around outside and growled. "I didn't have enough time!" Leah sighed. "Jacob maybe its not meant to be."
He glared at her and she slid next to him. "You didn't imprint on her, don't waste your time loving her because when the time comes and you do imprint she's going to be left with a broken heart."
He huffed. " I know you know all about that." Her head fell and he touched her arm. "Sorry."
She shrugged his hand away and gave a small smile. "You have the right to your feelings." she said slowly.
"This just cant be, as hard as Ive tried. I thought we had a connection, I thought for sure this time she was going to choose me."
"If we are being technical Paul didn't imprint on her either. When he finds his other, her heart will still be broken but the least you can do is be there to help her mend it."
Jacob nodded, listening to her words and thinking about how much time they spent together when the leech left.
"I also could take the leeches out of the program." He said finally. She raised an eyebrow. "Sam would be pissed."
He tore his eyes from the couple and smiled up at her. "So we a go?" She grinned and nodded.
