Chapter 3: Wizard Sawada, Jedi initiate Tsuna

Tsuna was in a pickle. More specifically, a pickle rolled in jam, coated with sprinkles, doused with petrol and set on fire- if he were the type to worry. As it were he decided it was best just to say, he was in a pickle.

A normal pickle, sort of.

Pickles aside, Tsuna didn't know what to do with his life.

Sure he had that wonderful plan to be completely unnoticed and living comfortably and all that jazz, but the truth was, he didn't find that option appealing anymore. After watching the Avengers, Tsuna had noticed how brilliant the idea of world domination sounded to him. Then he remembered that global reigning took both money and dedication and that plan was quickly scrapped.

Yup, a pickle.

After more hours of contemplation and avoiding his murderous best friend who was still trying to kill him for taking a day off last week, Tsuna happened to remember one tiny little thread of orange than now currently resided in his mind-scape of white. It grew as days went by and Tsuna, ever so loving tugged on it often and received the odd feeling here and there from it, watched it grow, wondering if one day soon he would have a pair of fluffy orange socks floating in his head. And as these feelings nudged him about- turn left, not right, you left it in the letter box, no you cannot pay your sire to give your caretaker a little something something- Tsuna came to suspect that he had magic powers.

Tsuna, was a god damn wizard.

Either that or he had a sixth sense, because while he had originally dubbed his piece of growing string instinct, it was just too far off with the things he could sense just by looking at them. Clearly he formed some hybrid magic mix of legilimacy and seer magic. It wasn't exactly seeing into the future, but it wasn't exactly reading peoples minds. It was an intense form of the human intuition and he had quickly named this new branch of magic Luna Logica. In humble offerings to Luna Lovegood, also known as Looney Luna, a friend of Harry Potter's who spoke in odd riddles but was always right in the end. Much like his odd magic. The logic of Luna. It wasn't because he was a fanboy or anything, not at all.

Still, there was that pickle.

Now that he knew that he was a wizard, he had to chose what kind of wizard he was. Clearly, he didn't expect wizards to be exactly like the ones of Rowling's writings but the categorizing was there people! Which was why he now sat with a glaring demon bird, sipping at his strawberry milkshake, contemplating frown screwing his face up adorably and skipping school once again.

"So," Tsuna stretched out, "You see what my problem is right? I mean this is life changing stuff here, I can't just pick one and move on, I'm going to be dedicating myself to one life path, I need to think this through and your opinion was is always appreciated, bestie."

The dark haired boy kept his glare. Clearly he did not believe his tales of wizardry and so with an exaggerated sigh, Tsuna pulled out a small pad and pencil from his pockets, knowing this would be the case. "Here." He thrust both objects to the older boy and smiled, "Draw or write something down, I don't care just don't show me."

Kyoya quirked a brow at the order but most likely didn't say anything because of his interest, Tsuna was completely aware of his own excitement. With eager eyes, Tsuna watched as his Kyo-chan's uniform clad arms moved from left to right, agonizingly slow for his little piece of magic had already whispered the answer with light bubbly laugh across his mind. Still though he waited with a grin until the Hibari placed the pencil down with a light clack.

Kyoya stared in his eyes, silent. A small challenge arouse in them, one Tsuna was all too eager to meet head on. "An apple."

Those eyes narrowed the slightest bit, but shined with intense interest. "Again." He ordered swiftly and picked up the pad to start another drawing and almost instantly the answer was given to Tsuna, his thread roving like a puppy eager to please.

"Tell me what it is." Kyoya demanded quietly, voice low but lips dangerously close to pulling up in a razor sharp grin.

"A clock with its hands positioned at lunch time." He answered confidently before taking another sip of his drink. "Another?" He asked with happy smile, legs kicking from underneath him.

Hands clutched at the pencil before they roved over white lined paper, the sound of sketching filling the silence of Tsuna's bedroom. It was with great shock that Tsuna realized that his caretaker had been right about something, perhaps there was hope for yet? For he was, indeed, having fun in his bedroom. With a friend, wonders just never ceased.

The scratches of graphite against paper quieted as Kyoya looked up through strands of dark hair, waiting. Tsuna cocked his head to the side, also waiting. This time his Luna Logica did not speak, not for the longest time before providing the answer. "A skylark devouring it's prey?" Tsuna asked, uncertainty caused by the stall in his magic.

"Yes," Those same deft hands that dislocated his shoulder and drew pictures dropped the pad and pencil to grip the corners of Tsuna's collared shirt in possessive hold, "A skylark devouring it's prey, is correct." He finished, the smile that had been fighting it's way up his lips now stretched across his pale face in a mockery of a childish grin, each tooth bared like a sharp dagger.

Tsuna who had been forced closer to the older boy just giggled, "Interesting, isn't it?"

"Very." His best and admittedly only friend murmured back, his voice nothing but a quiet whisper now.

And because Tsuna had all the self preservation of an ant, he thought nothing of the hands still holding him close, not letting him inch back the slightest bit. He thought nothing of the unholy light that spread through the boys steel eyes and his magic stayed quiet, apparently content with its masters choice of psychotic, entertainment deprived, possessive friends.

Tsuna patted his friend on the back, "So what shall we do now, oh unholy, satanic lord supreme Hibari?"

Tsuna was so close to having a mental brake down.

Why?

Simple.

He wasn't a wizard. God it was so clear now, he was a jedi.

That thread in his head? The force! Guiding him on his perilous journey. As it turns out, after some research, the little demonstration he had done with the demonic skylark was something the Jedi masters of the council often did before initiating force users into the temple to train, the exact method. Tsuna didn't know much about the Jedi which was why he had recently bought the books starting with the Jedi apprentice series.

So far, things had added up. Many children with high midi-chlorian counts fell through the cracks in the system, sometimes the Jedi simply could not receive a child because the planet they were born on was not advance enough for off worlders. Earth was apparently one of these planets, which confused Tsuna as Obi-wan Kenobi was, in fact, human. But apparently humans were a diverse race and spread far through the universe. Which brought up the question of where humans originated from.

Then again, Tsuna was only six, he still had seven years to be picked up by a Jedi and be apprenticed. But until then, Tsuna would be sure to brush on his force control to impress future master prospects.

Tsuna stared at the weak orange flames that licked lazily at his skin, "Oops."

That was definitely not supposed to happen. Tsuna had been attempting to tap into his force wielding abilities by tugging insistently on his orange thread when suddenly the thing had lashed out and caught on fire, in panic Tsuna had left his mind scape and opened his eyes to find himself reliving the Salem witch trials only without the holy water being splashed on his face. Which was odd, considering he thought he was a wizard forty-eight hours ago.

"Odd." Tsuna commented lightly as he twisted his palms from side to side for the flame to be observed at every angle. The thing really was small, like when you lit up a birthday candle and looked as if it wanted to collapse in on itself, like a suicidal miniature bon-fire.

Still, it clung to it's meager life like it clung to his skin, like a puppy. Tsuna liked puppies. Tsuna would keep this flame.

Tsuna kept his flame for a full four hours before he collapsed from exhaustion. He liked that flame.

And that single flame would be summoned quite often after this.

Tsuna was a bad ass, fire wielding Jedi initiate whose future was still unclear and years from now when thousands knew his name, when people whispered about him in awe and disbelief, when Tsuna would look back to his childhood days and laugh over his countless adventures with his demon cloud, his first friend, he would still claim to be just that, with only one difference.

A bad ass, fire wielding Jedi master.
