Hello, guys! Thank you for your amazing reviews!
The other day somebody asked me via PM what my thoughts were on the new DBZ movie, 'Revival of F'.
Let me tell you... I LOVED IT! Just the fact of having my all-time favourite villain, (which I myself have brought back in almost every one of my stories lol, although different versions) was enough to have me jumping on my seat. Frieza coming back was so darn exciting for me! And seeing Vegeta again, with his saiyan clothes and his real hair instead of that stupid haircut from GT, was amazing. I won't spoil anything, but I really, really liked it.
I hope you enjoy the story!
Vegeta entered the room and the three saiyans turned to look at him. Nappa and Radditz bowed their heads immediately.
"I need to talk to the boy. In private." He said.
Nappa and Radditz looked at Vegeta and the small child nodded slightly. They got up, bowed again and left the room. The older Vegeta closed the door behind him and crossed his arms, looking down at the tiny saiyan on the bed. The smaller version also looked up at him, feeling dread and nervousness bubbling inside him.
"Well, I think it's safe to say that both our timelines are officially ruined." The older prince said. When his younger self didn't answer, he frowned. "I figured you'd be happier about being here, with Frieza gone and all."
"I am." He said softly. "I just… What will happen now?"
Future Vegeta sighed deeply and stared at the child's twitching tail .
"Well, we're certainly not sending you back to the past." He said. "It would be too dangerous for you."
Past Vegeta looked at his small hands and frowned.
"I am a Saiyan Elite. Me and my men would kill anyone who tried to do anything to us." He answered.
"No, you wouldn't. Frieza, Zarbon, Dodoria, the Ginyu Force – they might all be dead, but in your timeline, Cooler and King Cold are still alive. Frieza's family. And all the rest of his soldiers, who would give anything for a chance to get you, Nappa and Radditz and kill you. Cooler might even treat you more like a slave than Frieza did." He explained. "And they're all way too strong for you. Without Frieza's protection, you're nothing out there."
"You're wrong!" the small child tried to argue.
"I'm not. It took me 20 years to be able to defeat all of them, with the exception of Frieza, of course – and they're all dead in this timeline. You're safe here. Kakkarot and me are the strongest in the universe, anyway." Future Vegeta said. "And you'll be, too, if you follow the rules."
"What rules?" Past Vegeta spat, crossing his arms.
"I know you're angry, and I know you're frustrated, but this planet is your home now, and you will protect it. You will not hurt, attack, or murder any human being on the planet, and neither will your men. Got it?" the older man spoke sternly.
"I will do as I please." The small child said.
"You will not, unless you want me to send you gift-wrapped to the past and into Cooler's ship, so that he will do as he pleases."
The small child shuddered and looked away.
"Whatever."
Future Vegeta sighed and tried to control his annoyance.
"You don't need to purge planets anymore. That's not your life any longer. You will stay with us. Me and my family… I will train you to your full potential. Real training sessions, not Frieza's twisted version." He added as he saw the small child's eyes widening. "Radditz and Nappa will also stay with us, mainly because I'm sure you'd like them to keep you company."
The small child nodded.
"Okay."
"Nobody here knows who you are and what you did. Except for my wife's friends, but they are of no concern to you. On this planet, nobody will try to hurt you and no one will hate you just for being born." The future version said slowly. The child looked up at him with wide eyes. After a moment, he nodded.
…
Vegeta sat on his bed, against the corner. His whole body was engulfed in horrible pain. He was holding his tail in his hands, as it was hanging from a few strands of skin from his back. He was really trying to remain still, but he couldn't help it. His body kept on shuddering, twitching and jerking. He couldn't stop the tears either.
Radditz came rushing into the room, with his little bag in his hand.
"Oh, for the gods." He said, looking at the small boy. "What happened?"
"The Ginyu force is back." Vegeta whimpered.
"Why didn't they give you a tank?"
Vegeta swallowed against the knot in his throat and his eyes squeezed shut.
"I-I'm still on punishment from our failure at P-planet Sheekia."
Radditz sighed angrily. Planet Sheekia had been bigger than they had anticipated, and they hadn't been able to purge it in time. Frieza had been extremely upset.
"It's okay." He said. "Let me heal you and then you can rest a little."
But Vegeta didn't move from his little ball. If anything, he tensed even more.
"I don't understand." He whimpered.
"What?" Radditz asked softly, sitting next to him on the bed and taking out a cream to lessen the bruises.
"Why do they hate me so much?" he sobbed. "They tortured me in front of a lot of soldiers and everyone was laughing! And they cheered. Nobody tried to help me."
Radditz closed his eyes as rage invaded him. The Ginyu Force loved to have an audience when they tormented the small prince. The older saiyan had just arrived from a mission. He had been getting out of his pod when Vegeta had called his scouter, crying. Nappa was on another mission, so he couldn't help.
"They are just sadistic bastards, Vegeta. They enjoy the blood."
"But I didn't do anything to them." He cried as Radditz cleaned his tears and applied the cream to his swollen eye and bruised cheeks. "I only do what Frieza tells me… I didn't choose to be the saiyan prince."
Radditz cleaned the blood from under his nose, chin and temple and swallowed.
"Being the saiyan prince is something to be proud of, Vegeta."
"I know." The boy said. "But… they hate me for it. Everyone hates me just because I was born."
Radditz pushed him down softly, so that he was lying on his stomach. He winced as he got a look at the boy's back. It was black, blue and red. Bruises, welts, cuts, gashes, burns… they had really taken everything out on the small prince.
"It's just because you're small and can't beat them yet. But you will someday." He said, applying his creams. However, as he looked at the tail hanging from a cracked bone and strips of skin, his calm demeanor faltered. "Oh, for the gods."
Vegeta pressed his face against the pillow.
"I just wish… everyone in the universe didn't hate me so much."
"They don't. Frieza's army does because they are idiots… but I'm sure someone out there doesn't hate you." Radditz answered, moving to heal the prince's legs. "When you beat Frieza and escape, you'll be the ruler of the Universe and then everyone will bow down to you."
…
The older Vegeta knew what his younger self was going through. He was weaker than a lot of people on that planet, and being weaker had never been a good thing. He had promised the boy that nobody would hurt him on Earth, but he knew the boy was still scared and insecure.
He exited the room and closed the door behind himself.
Once outside, he noticed with a growl that the Z fighters were already there, no doubt after having sensed the return of their beloved friends. Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chaotzu, Chichi, Goten, Gohan and Videl were all there.
Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Chaotzu were in a little circle, talking between themselves and sending glares and terrified eyes at Nappa and Radditz. They were tense and nervous, as if preparing for an attack from the Saiyans. But the two men were giving their back to everyone.
Gohan and Videl were off to the side talking to Piccolo, who was explaining how everyone had gotten back.
Goten and Trunks were talking excitedly about all the amazing things the latter had seen during his adventure.
And Chichi was in a screaming fit against Kakkarot.
Vegeta rolled his eyes and walked over to his wife, who was talking to Dende. She quietly excused herself from her conversation and turned to Vegeta, a smile on her face.
"How did it go?"
"Fine. He's somewhat nervous, but he'll manage." Vegeta answered. "How are the kids?"
"They're fine." Bulma said. "Happy to be home."
A few moments later, the door to the prince's temporary room opened. Everyone turned to look at him, expectantly.
Vegeta was surprised to see so many people on the lookout, and his tail twitched at the looks of distrust he received from most of them. He met each of them in the eye, his frown unfaltering. His tail wrapped around his waist and he walked proudly over to his men. They turned to him and dipped their heads in respect, as they often did when others were around.
Bulma walked over to them, Vegeta following closely behind.
"I think it's time we went home." She said. "We all want to shower and rest, I'm sure." She turned to the crowd. "Thanks everyone for coming to check up on us, but we'll go now. I'll contact you all for a banquet on Friday to celebrate!"
"Bulla," Krillin said softly as she prepared to go. "Are you sure it's safe? Having those saiyans around?"
"Well," Bulla said, "we had them around for days in an environment where they could attack us and kill us and they didn't. I think we can trust them with this."
…
Each saiyan was given a room, and after a tour around the house, the three of them went to train in one of the Training rooms in the last floor. The Gravity Machine was too small for them and Bulma sujested some gravity-free training.
That same night, Bulma's mother set up the rarely-used, enormous table in the dinning room for all of them.
The food was delicious for the three saiyans, and it kept coming and coming until they felt more satisfied than they had ever felt before.
And then the softest, warmest bed Vegeta had ever been in welcomed him. The room was wide and smelled nice, and Vegeta knew that he was safe from Frieza coming into his room to 'train' him. He wouldn't be rudely woken up the next morning by awful pain or calls to the Throne Room. They were all gone… and the people he was living with didn't hate him, and didn't want to see him suffer.
Vegeta decided that he was ready to call that place home.
And, for the first time in a long time, nightmares didn't haunt him that night.
This isn't the last chapter, guys!
I still have one more coming!
I appreciate the reviews!
