''Oh my God, Tony!'' Olivia exclaimed as soon as he had opened the door. He had barely the time to prepare himself, but he didn't fall over when she all but threw herself at him and enveloped him into a hug that could challenge and maybe win over Abby's.

Tony closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her. ''Hey, Liv'' He said almost ashamed.

''How are you? are you alright? What happened?'' Olivia asked rapidly. Gibbs chuckled.

''Just needed some air'' Tony lied.

Olivia pulled back and looked at him skeptically. ''You know I don't believe that, don't you?''

Tony shrugged. ''Yeah I know. It's just... complicated''

''Isn't everything?'' Olivia asked. ''But you're alright now?'' She asked worried.

''I'm fine'' Tony insisted. He made a turn and held up his hands. ''See? Nothing broken, no new bruises. Nothing''

Olivia huffed. ''Fine. But don't do that again or I will kill you'' She warned.

''Duly noted'' Tony chuckled, her kissed her on the cheek and walked to the kitchen.

Olivia looked at Gibbs, but he just shook his head. Some things, you just didn't share. ''He's fine, Olivia'' He told her.

She sighed. ''Okay. Okay, I'm going to bed. Can I drive with you in the morning?'' She asked. She had been using Tony's car, since Gibbs still didn't let him drive on his own. But she wanted to be early at work tomorrow.

''Sure'' Gibbs agreed.

''Thanks, goodnight'' She smiled and went to the kitchen, said her goodnight to Tony too and went upstairs.

Gibbs walked into the kitchen seeing Tony filling a mug with coffee and added sugar. ''Hope that's not for me?''

Tony turned chuckling. ''I don't have a death wish. You are big enough to pour in your own drink''

Rolling his eyes Gibbs did just that.

''Tony?'' Shannon's voice filled the kitchen. She saw the soft smile fade from his face. ''Hey. You okay?''

''I'm fine'' Tony insisted again. Silence. ''I'm fine, now'' He corrected.

''Good. You scared me, mister'' Shannon told him.

''I'm sorry—'' Tony began

''I know, Tony'' Shannon reassured. ''And I know why you did it. You may not see me, but I see you. And watching you and Gibbs without being able to talk to you, has learned me to read you without all that''

''Oh'' Tony casted his eyes down to his coffee.

''It's alright Tony. I understand and Kelly does too''

''She does?'' Tony asked surprised.

''I do!'' Kelly's voices joined them.

Tony felt the mug slip through his fingers.

''Tony!'' Gibbs called out.

Snapping out of his haze, Tony caught the mug, but the coffee ran over his hand. ''Ah shit!'' He turned around, placed the mug on the counter, then put his hand under the running water.

''Tony? You okay'' Kelly asked sadly.

''Don't worry. You just a... startled me'' He excused. Gibbs watched the confusion wash over Tony for a moment. ''and you? You okay?'' Tony asked.

''Always Tony. Do you know where we talked about, when you stayed here?'' Kelly asked, wanting him to be distracted from the awkwardness.

''We talked about a lot of things Little Lady'' Tony smiled.

''True!'' Kelly laughed.

Gibbs smiled as his heart ached at her laughter.

''But I mean. Do you remember we talked about super powers? You read Spider man to me'' Kelly reminded.

Gibbs frowned at Tony, who turned and gave him a sheepish smile. ''Well yeah it was one of the only books I read at the time'' He asnwered and Gibbs rolled his eyes at that.

''It's a strip book, Tony'' Gibbs scolded.

''You asked me what kind of superpower I wanted. And I decided on invisibility'' Kelly explained. ''And I kind off have now!''

''This was not the way I wanted that to happed, Little Lady'' Tony sighed.

''I know... when I... uhm... I... noticed that I... saw myself lying in the car next to mommy... I knew that it was bad. That I was... dead'' Kelly swallowed and saw her father and Tony do the same. ''I was so angry. I mean I was... am eight. It wasn't my time'' Kelly talked. ''I was mad at everyone up 'There'. I didn't talk to mommy for weeks. But then a sweet lady came to talk to me''

Gibbs took a deep breath. Kelly didn't talk to her mom for weeks? That was like Tony who didn't talk for weeks. Almost impossible... almost. ''What did the lady say, Kells?''

''She made me realize that I shouldn't think of all the bad things. That was mommy and I can do were blessings. I had to think of all the things I can do now, as positively as possible. You can't see me so I have my super power now. I have learned how to read people's body languages. As the years past those things get stronger and the times I can stay here get longer then 'There'.'' Kelly said.

''Since when are you so smart?'' Gibbs asked amused.

''I would be 24 this year, daddy'' Kelly pointed out. ''I maybe in a eight year old body... and have still two tooths missing and two pigtails'' Gibbs smiled at the vision. ''But I have 16 years of uhm... watching and learning''

''Right'' Gibbs nodded.

''Jethro. She means that she has to see everything positively. Being negative makes you look older'' Shannon told him.

''So I look older then I am?'' Gibbs asked playfully.

''You may have some lines that would go away if you kept being like you are now'' Shannon chuckled.

''Don't worry I will keep him in line'' Tony vowed, gaining a soft head-slap.

Shannon and Kelly laughed. ''We have to go, boys'' Shannon said.

''But we will be here when you want to talk to us'' Kelly added.

''how about everyday?'' Gibbs asked.

A sigh from Shannon. ''Jethro... as much as you can talk to us and sometimes feel us. And as much as we are here... We aren't here totally... you can't stop moving on just because you can talk to me. You understand that?''

A silence as Tony looked at Gibbs, seeing the emotion run through his mind. Gibbs eyes closed for a second, but then opened and smiled. ''I know. Can't let family down here and because I have familythere'' He said.

''Good that you understand'' Shannon said. ''We have to go now. We have been here much too long''

''Bye, daddy. Bye Tony'' Kelly Giggled.

The giggles faded then disappeared.

''They were worried because they love you too. You know that right?'' Gibbs asked Tony.

Tony sighed but nodded. ''I know''

4 weeks came and went faster than they all thought.

Tony went to the grave yard on Friday afternoon, now since he was off duty, when there was no case. Gibbs and he had decided that he was off on Monday, Thursday and Friday, so that he had long weekends when they were off rotation. A few days after they started the new arrangement, Tony had gotten a box from the program with all the books, he needed to find the information.

At work, Ziva and McGee were still getting used to the new method of working and the switch of listening to Tony and Gibbs. They had two cases in the four weeks, and at first it was a little weird, but as Gibbs, Ziva and McGee went out on the field, Tony and Chris stayed behind, it quickly turned into the most normal thing there was. And the other time it was Gibbs who stayed behind with McGee.

Chris had been pulled into the team, from the first moment on and didn't have any complaints about their method. He liked his team and felt like this was really a team, instead of a couple of co workers working together, like his old one. He did notice that even though it felt like they weren't doing it on purpose, that the way Gibbs treated to Tony was different than he treated Ziva or McGee.

The head-slaps had surprised him, but he had gotten the warning that if Gibbs felt he needed it, he would use it on Chris too. He had even given Tony permission to do it. Which made a shocking expression on the other mans face, before it turned into a full blown grin.

There were no worries in the Gibbs household. Everything went smoothly. Olivia lived there with Mason as if she did for years. Gibbs picked up the routine of taking care of them like he had known them for years. And when Tony or Gibbs were home, they would take care of Mason, instead of bringing him to Daycare. Olivia was off every Tuesday and on the weekend. So daycare was now only needed if she had to work and both Tony and Gibbs had to work.

Everyday Tony was off from work and Gibbs and Olivia would come home, Tony was seated on the dining room table. Either working on 'School' or trying to draw a house. His house. His drawing maybe not as great as Kate, but he was good.

Slowly the house was coming together. Less sheets were getting crumpled and the house had his form. He had contact with the municipality, to talk about his plans. Luckily for him, they were more flexible with older styled houses that the modern styled houses and up until now, they had agreed to everything he suggested.

A week ago, Tony had canceled his lease on his apartment, and had changed his home address at work into Gibbs' address. His stuff, were stored in the attic of Gibbss house and the bigger things were stored in a storage box. Again Tony had a good time seeing the expression on Jenny's face when he brought the information upstairs.

Since then, Gibbs' house had changed and the older man didn't mind it a bit. The old TV had changed into Tony's flat screen, on a newer TV cabinet, so that Tony could place his DVD's in there. Cable was on the way. Next to the couch laid a rug, specially for Mason. He had been starting to learn how roll over and doing more of that sort of things.

Gibbs' boat was on a break and had to wait until the fold out couch, Gibbs was making for himself, was finished.

Kelly's room, was really turning into Mason's room. The bed, the toy chest and the desk had gone to the attic, while the changing table, had gone to the room, and the remaining clothes of Kelly in the dresser, were put in a box in the attic, and were replaced with clothes for the little boy.

Olivia had insisted to have some pictures on the walls. Gibbs was nervous about it at first, but now they hung or stood... he loved it.

Tony had brought the pictures of him and Kelly and Shannon to a friend, that could blow them up a bit and make them more clear. They were hang in his bedroom now, in a new frame. Also Olivia had hidden a picture of her and Tony when she was pregnant all those years ago. It stood in her bed room.

When Gibbs had seen the picture for the first time. Even though they were young, they really looked like a happy couple having their first child. It made him think over their relationship. Though Tony and Olivia told him they had never even thought about a potential boyfriend or girlfriend, they both didn't see each other as brother and sister either.

Maybe someday, they would be ready to call it... something. And he wouldn't stop whatever they decide to call it.

With all the changes, the house was slowly turning into a home again. And Gibbs? Had scared himself that it went so easily. Though, talking to his girls now and then, while he was changing things might be helping him.

Even though, Tony, Olivia and Gibbs, had no worries for the first time in their lives. McGee, Ziva and Abby had. They didn't know about Tony's plans of being a foster parent, nor did they know about the plan of his house. Tony had declined every time they would ask him out for a drink or for a party, saying that didn't have the time, but never given a reason why he didn't have the time.

But now just like months ago, Gibbs was getting worried friends by his desk. They were afraid that Tony once again was excluding himself. Ducky had also tried to get information out of him, knowing that Gibbs knew what Tony was up to. But the older man had also told Gibbs that even though, Tony was up to something, he hadn't gotten the idea it was anything bad.

''You have to tell them sometime'' Gibbs told Tony one Saturday morning, after those four weeks of change. He sat in the chair in the living room.

Tony sat crossed legged on the couch, a sketchbook on his lap and a pencil on his hand. He had drawn the outside of the house and the ground floor, Now he was busy deciding how to organize the second floor , every now and then it would change the outside and ground floor, but he didn't tear the paper out of the book and throw it across the room anymore.

''Don't know how'' Tony admitted, dropping the pencil on the coffee table.

''It's summer?'' Gibbs raised an eyebrow.

''Yeah so?'' Tony frowned, he knew that. It was late Juli now. Mason was born in April 7th, so he was around the 3,5 months.

''I got a big yard'' Gibbs added.

Tony's frown deepened at first, then a broad smile appeared on his face. ''You really wanna have a BBQ here?''

''Don't see why not'' Gibbs shrugged.

''What did I hear about a BBQ?'' Olivia came downstairs. She had changed into her clothes and her hair was still damp, in a pony tail. She plopped down

''Gibbs wants to have a BBQ party for the team'' Tony explained. ''When exactly?''

''Tonight and otherwise tomorrow'' Gibbs said simply. The smile faded from Tony's face. ''Tony...'' He warned. ''You can't keep postponing it''

''He's right, T.'' Olivia said. ''They are your friends and they have tried really well to make up for what they did. It's time to tell them something'' She grinned. ''Besides, I want to big juicy burgers now'' Olivia added, with a desirable look in her eyes, then laughed.

Tony chuckled and gave her a kiss on her cheek. ''Okay. You can have your burger'' He gave in.

''Thank you'' Olivia said innocently, then leaned against him. Resting her head against his shoulder. ''How's the house?''

''it's... forming'' Tony said chuckling. ''I have downstairs finished, well for now. I want all bedrooms upstairs, just like here. But I'm debating with myself, how many bedrooms. 3 or 4''

''Depends, DiNozzo. How many foster kids you want'' Gibbs told him.

''Let's start with one'' Tony glared. He pointed at the sketch he was working on of the second floor. ''So my room's going to have a bathroom en suite, obviously'' He said. ''I have a general bathroom downstairs. And I was thinking a second bathroom upstairs''

''Well'' Olivia said. ''If you do four bedroom's in total. Than you have room for when you decide for a second foster child and still have room for guests'' She reasoned. ''Then the guest room can have also a bathroom en suite''

''Hmm'' Tony tilted his head thoughtfully. ''You planning to stay over sometime?'' He asked with a grin.

''Of course silly!'' Olivia laughed. ''And I have to have my own bathroom when I do'' She said sarcastically.

Tony looked down again. Suddenly he grabbed an eraser and replaced walls so that he could manage three bedrooms on the second floor, with two of them with a bathroom en suite.

''Uhm, T. you know you have just three bedrooms now?'' Olivia spoke up as she looked at the sketch.

''Uhu'' Tony said. He flipped the sheet over and a smaller room appeared. ''The fourth room is the attic'' He grinned.

Gibbs was intrigued now too, leaned forward and grabbed the sketchbook from Tony's hands. He flipped through the papers and observed it. ''Nice house'' He commented.

''You think?'' Tony asked hopefully. ''The style is a little older, but the municipality, has agreed to it so far. I have a meeting upcoming Monday, if we don't catch a case that is. So I can lay it out. If I get the clear, I have another meeting with the contractors''

''Moving fast'' Gibbs said.

''Yeah'' Tony smiled. ''It just gets me excited to think that it can be done''

''A dream coming true?'' Olivia joked.

''A little, yeah'' Tony nodded. ''I think I'm going to change. Can you guys call the rest for tonight?'' He asked.

''The BBQ?'' Gibbs asked.

''Olivia and I do the shopping'' Tony stated.

Olivia pulled back and looked at him. ''We do?''

''Uhu. Then you and I go to the park with Mason after that'' He tapped her nose, with a wink.

''Sounds like fun'' Olivia grinned. ''I'll go get Mason ready'' She stood up and all but ran upstairs.

Tony looked after her with a grin of his own and shook his head. He turned his head to find Gibbs looking at him with a raised eyebrow. ''She's almost back'' He told Gibbs. ''In such a short time''

Gibbs smiled. ''That's what happens when you have family who cares about you''

''I'm starting to believe that'' Tony said. ''You want to call the rest, for our plans tonight?''

''Okay'' Gibbs looked at the younger man. ''Ready for it?''

''You are right. Can't keep them out of the loop forever. Abby's been stalking me for some time now and you said they have been talking to you about me'' Tony said.

Olivia came down the stairs, with Mason, dressed and ready to go. ''Tony! Go dress already!'' She said impatiently.

Tony laughed, but stood up and ran upstairs himself now. Gibbs placed the sketchbook on the table and reached out his hands suggestively to Olivia. Olivia chuckled but handed him a lively Mason.

''Good morning, Big Guy'' He greeted. Mason made noises that suspiciously sounded like he told a whole story. Gibbs listened interested and chuckled as the little human tried to grab Gibbs' nose. ''That's my nose'' He told Mason. The hand moved. ''And that are my lips'' He mumbled against the hand. The hand quickly retracted and Mason looked at him with big wide eyes as if he had discovered somethinh. Gibbs chuckled again and kissed Mason's forehead. He loved that kid.

Olivia grinned at the sight. ''Getting into the role?''

''It's easy'' Gibbs stated, with a smile. ''He's easy''

''Hopefully he stays that way. I'm already thinking about his teenage years'' Olivia chuckled.

''He will grow up into a fine man'' Gibbs promised. ''He's got Tony and you''

''And you. Maybe he wants to be a marine'' Olivia said eyes wide.

''Something wrong with Marines?'' Gibbs asked mocking offended.

''No! I just don't think I can take it if he's that long from home'' Olivia explained. Gibbs grunted and Tony came down the stairs and into the living room.

''Ready to go?'' He asked Olivia.

It was later that day when Tony helped Gibbs setting up the BBQ. Olivia was seated on one of the garden chairs, in the late afternoon sun. Mason on her lap, sleeping.

''Who do you think is going to be here first?'' Olivia asked the men.

''Abby'' They said at once, earning a amused eye roll from Olivia. ''And she's almost here'' Gibbs added. Knowing Abby would be here far earlier than planned. As if on cue, there was a hard knock going through the house all the way to the backyard.

Tony sat the BBQ down and jogged inside. He came to a halt in front of the front door, just as Abby tapped a melody again. He opened the door with a grin.

''Tony!'' Abby squealed and she wrapped her arms around him.

Tony rolled his eyes with a smile. ''Nice to see you too, Abbs'' He said. ''But I just saw you yesterday''

''Are you kidding me?'' Abby pulled back. ''I haven't spoken to you in weeks, not about other then cases anyway''

''Well, that's what his BBQ is for'' Tony said. ''They're in the backyard''

Abby squealed again and bounced through the house. About an half hour later, Ziva and McGee followed with Chris, and Ducky came in as the last one. Chris was still new and wasn't used to the fact that coworkers did this kind of thing more than just once. He hadn't even met Olivia until today. Well he didnt thought they knew her so well. She was the girl for the coffee.

Chris thoughts about Tony living with Gibbs and the woman with a little child, had him confused for a couple of minutes. Then he just shrugged. It wasn't like him to judge people. And besides, his attention was more attracted towards the Israeli woman of the group. Ziva David.

''This was an excellent idea, Anthony'' Ducky said to the younger man, who stood with Gibbs watching him grill the burgers.

''Oh. It wasn't my idea, Duck. Gibbs came up with it'' Tony explained. ''I just did the groceries''

''Well'' Ducky said surprised that Gibbs would do this. ''That doesn't change the fact it was a good idea'' Ducky smiled politely.

''Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs!'' Abby came bouncing to them. ''You have to consider, building a pool in the back yard!''

Gibbs raised his eyebrows and Tony laughed. ''Abby. Do you see Gibbs swimming?'' Tony asked.

''Hey'' Gibbs tapped Tony on the back of his head. ''I can swim, DiNozzo''

''Really?'' Tony tilted his head. ''Wouldn't think of you as an swimsuite kind of guy. Although... if you do, having the girls over isn't such a bad idea'' Tony looked around at Abby, then Ziva, then Olivia, trying to see them in bathing suits.

Gibbs rolled his eyes and looked up as he shook his head amused. The sizzling of the burger made him look down again. ''Guys! Get your plates and get your burgers while it still hot!'' he announced.

Everyone gathered around the BBQ and began to get their burger on their buns with sauce.

...

Olivia sat down next to Gibbs. She just came back from putting Mason to bed. Ducky also sat with Gibbs, but remained silent.

The others had settled in the grass with the third round of burgers and were talking about little things. Tony enjoyed it and talked most of all, which wasn't surprising. The group erupted in laughter occasionally.

Gibbs noticed that Olivia was focused on Tony. Taking in his body language. ''He's nervous'' She spoke up.

''Yup'' Gibbs agreed, glancing at Duck, who looked at him patiently. They saw Tony stand up and walk into the house.

Olivia stood up again and followed her friend into the empty kitchen. ''Hey you okay?''

Tony chuckled nervously. ''I don't understand why I am nervous''

''I do'' Olivia told him. ''You scared of what they will think of you, what will their thoughts be, how will they react''

Tony puffed out and sank onto one of the chairs. ''Give me a minute?'' He asked.

''Sure'' Olivia leaned down and kissed him on his forehead. ''It will be alright, Tony'' She said and walked back outside. She joined the group and their conversation for a couple of minutes before Tony came back outside.

''Hey guys?'' Tony called out behind them. ''Can you be quiet for a minute. I uh... have to tell you something''

They silenced and turned to look at him. ''Sure Tony'' Abby said happily.

''What is it that you want to tell us'' Ziva asked.

''Well. First of all I wanted to thank you that you have been great this past month, with the new arrangement and I had to tell you that SecNav is very pleased with the results of our last two cases'' Tony began. ''However... we... I... I uh... kind of lied to you about the reason of this arrangement''

''What do you mean, Tony?'' McGee asked.

Tony took a deep breath. ''We told you, that we did this in order from SecNav as an experiment. But that's not true'' He paused and looked at the people in front of him. ''I wanted to quit'' He stated.

Mouths dropped. '' You what?!'' Abby exclaimed naturally as first. ''Why? Don't you like your job anymore? Did we do something wrong. Did we hurt you again—''

the other began talking too. ''GUYS!'' Tony yelled, and everyone silenced again. ''It's not because of you or the job'' He told them.

''Then why?'' McGee asked confused.

''You all know about the recent events... about Olivia joining our group. My father who has been put in prison'' He glanced at Chris, who didn't know that fact. He saw the surprise, but the sincere look of patients, that if Tony wanted him to know, he would tell him and otherwise he would accept it. ''What not everyone knows... except from Gibbs and McGee, is that due of that case, I discovered that I had a second bank account, with a... good amount of money''

''How much?'' Abby wanted to know.

''uhm... that doesn't matter'' Tony declined telling her details. ''What matters is that... for the first time in my life, I can do something I want. I can be what I want, without having to be worried that it is possible to reach ir that someone doesn't approve'' He continued. ''I wanted to quite because I decided I wanted something, but therefor I have to do school first. Well the program— I explain those details later. But I couldn't combine it with a full time job. Then I thought that if I had another position in the team, I would be able to more days off''

''So you thought about the co-leadership?'' Ziva asked.

''No. actually, that was Gibbs' idea. He has been great this passed few months and he wanted to support me in anyway he could and he thought of this'' Tony explained.

''What is it that you learning for?'' Chris spoke up.

Tony smiled. ''I have decided that I want to be a foster parent''

He was met with silence, as all for of them looked at him as if he was nuts.

Ducky however, raised his eyebrows in surprise and met Gibbs' gaze. Gibbs nodded affirmative and Ducky's surprised expression changed into a smile.

Chris opened and closed his mouth, then it opened again. ''So you are doing courses for Foster parenthood?''

relieved that someone spoke up Tony answered. ''Yes and no. I am busy with home schooling in child psychology. I get the first two years of the study in a year and half via the computer and books. I have been studying for a month now''

''But that study is much longer?'' McGee asked confused. He was trying to wrap his head around the idea of Tony being a parent.

''I am not aiming for a degree. Just for knowledge that I know at least a bit of what I'm doing'' Tony chuckled. ''Once that is finished, then I will do the courses for Foster parent. and then it's just waiting''

Abby stood up. ''You're really serious about this?'' She asked in shock.

''Yes, Abby. This is was I want. What I wanted for a long time... took me some good talks to admit it to myself. Let alone another'' Tony turned back to looked at Olivia and Gibbs.

''So... all this change is just so you can do what you want?'' McGee asked.

''uhm... yes?'' Tony asked as if he wasn't sure himself.

McGee expression changed as he stood up too ''Then I hope you better be a damn good parent''

Tony smiled. ''I hope that too''

Ziva and Chris also stood up. ''Thanks to your plans, I was able to join the team'' Chris said.

Ziva smiled at him. ''And that is a good thing, yes?'' She asked him.

''Very'' Chris grinned at her then to Tony. ''Hope it will turn out okay, Boss''

''Not your boss here Chris. Tony is fine'' Tony commented. He resisted the smirk at the two agents and he made a note to himself to let Chris know about Rule 12. Chris nodded.

''Those kids will be blessed, Tony'' Ziva said to him and kissed him on the cheek. ''Although... I do not think that Gibbs is going to like anymore trouble makers in his house''

Everyone laughed.

''Yeah.. how does that work, Tony?'' Abby asked.

''Well... firstly I live here because of Olivia. But now I live here, because I canceled the the lease on my apartment. That money I talked about? I am building a house'' Tony announced.

Eyes went wide once again. ''What?!'' They exclaimed at once.

''Yup!'' Tony grinned. ''Right... there'' He pointed towards the wooden fence. He laughed when they all frowned. ''After that fence is a plot. I bought it''

congratulations were given and people returned to their burgers. This time also Ducky stood up. ''Well, my boy. I can't say I had seen that one coming'' He said.

Tony smiled at him. ''Like I said, it took a long time to admit it to myself''

''As long as you are happy, Anthony. I know that we will support you the whole way'' Ducky stated. ''And it seems that your two biggest fans, already knew about your plan'' He said as Gibbs and Olivia came to joing.

''I wouldn't count myself a fan of DiNozzo'' Gibbs said. Tony raised an eyebrow at him, then grinned as he knew what the older man meant.

''Of course not Jethro'' Ducky chuckled.

''You did good, T.'' Olivia said then hugged him.

''Thanks for coming back in my life'' Tony whispered to her. ''I love you''

''Love you too, Tony'' Olivia smiled.
