ALT-FLAG 06: City of Angels?

That morning, Suzaku was left alone in the apartment area. His demon buddy had already left about an hour ago in order to look for which among the Goddess hosts have Keima. He approached the dining table where there was already a small breakfast meal set up. Beside the plate though was an armband made from her Hagoromo, along with a small note:

Suza-kun,

If ever things get hairy with your surveillance duty, rip off this armband. Be careful out there…

"Guess she took a head start in looking for the Goddess hosts," he thought while letting off a smile. "Better finish this and get on with my share."

Meanwhile, in the skies above Maijima hover his green-haired demon partner who, for almost 3 hours since leaving the apartment, have been on a tight search of her own.

"Man, if only this place was not that big compared to that campus in Kyoto, I would have been done about now," she said while looking at a screen from her Hagoromo. "If only I pilfered one of those Goddess detectors from the Public Safety Department…"

Her patrol duty continued for about half an hour until she landed atop one of the tall buildings in the city center. Just then, she noticed something on her screen.

"About time I detected something. I guess those modified sensor beacons really worked like I hoped." Immediately, she approached the area in question, and lo and behold she spotted two figures headed towards the school complex.

"Okay, I've spotted that 'God of Conquest' guy. As to that other character though…"

She sifted through her copy of Elsie's dossier and immediately chanced upon Kanon's profile. She had a bit of a hard time identifying Keima's companion since she wore an overcoat and a hat.

"She really is trying hard to cover her identity, huh?"

Just then, she noticed a couple more blips on her screen. She just dismissed those alerts, mainly because her objective was to keep an eye on Keima. "Must be some random stragglers who tripped off the sensors," she thought.

As Keima and her companion reached one of the school's rooftops, Sylvia landed at the adjacent building. She brought out a pair of binoculars and continued to watch at the two, as the one with the coat revealed herself to her.

"So that's the idol singer among the capture targets. Better contact Suza-kun about this…"

Meanwhile inside one of Maijima Academy's classrooms, Suzaku was having another English class. This time though it was with Class 2C, the same group where Shiomiya Shiori, one of the Goddess hosts, is attending; and at least this time, the person in question is in the classroom.

While he was reading a passage of the book he assigned the class to bring, his cellphone vibrated on the table. He then called the shy girl to read the from where he stopped, not just to have the flow of the class continue, but also to see how she had changed after that fated encounter with the God of Conquest.

"Shiomiya, would you please read on from where I left off?" Shiori slowly stood up and held her copy of the book with both hands. As she proceeded with reading, Suzaku picked up his phone and took notice of a new message from Sylvia. It read:

Found that GoC guy on the roof of one of the school buildings, apparently with one of the Goddess hosts. The idol singer with pink hair, methinks. Will continue to keep an eye on them until further notice…

As he was busy thumb-texting his reply, he never veered his attention towards Shiori. "Based from the info from Irma's dossier, this girl was extremely shy before the conquest. Nowadays, she is slowly beginning to open up to others, particularly to the other members of the Library Committee," he silently noted.

"Although she still needs to do some work with her voice; it is still a bit too low, even for a normal conversation…"

He then called her attention. "Shiomiya…"

"Y-y-yes, s-sensei?" replied the girl, who lightly jolted out of shock that she dropped her book by accident. Suzaku let off a sigh in response. "Yup, definitely still needs a bit more social skills training," he thought.

Then the bell rang, ending the class.

"I apologize if I startled you, Shiomiya," he said to the shy one. "Just a word of advice: try to calm yourself down if necessary. You'd be able to confront situations better with a cool head…"

She responded to him with a light bow and walked out of the room as if she was in a hurry, leaving Suzaku all alone and still scratching his head in confusion…

Back with Sylva, she continued to follow her targets Keima and Kanon from a distance, who are now joined by Yui. "Okay, now it's the boyish-looking one," she thought. "This guy really is very lucky with these girls, and yet..."

Before Sylvia continued in pursuing Keima, she made sure that no one would be trailing Kanon by planting a tracking beacon on her the same way she did to the girl with odango hair. After that, she went back to keeping an eye on him, who was this time led into the Goidou Household.

About an hour had passed and the targets were still inside the main building of the compound. As usual, the green-haired demon let off a yawn or two. "Not much to report on this end though," she uttered. "As if those Level-something Weiss would pop out for no apparent reason, anyway."

Then her RSS sensor let off another beep. "Is it just me or is my sensor acting up again?" she asked herself. She tapped it twice and even shook the same, but the beeping continued.

"Something's not right here..."

Fearing for the worst, she held her scythe tight as if she was anticipating an ambush. Unfortunately, the beeps ceased after a few seconds, prompting her to stand down again. "I'd better not drop my guard," she thought. "This is certainly not a false alarm."

Not very far from where Sylvia hovered though was another mysterious, green-haired character, who was quite crafty in hiding her presence. She was just finishing her drink while looking at the said demon floating above the city, while continuously playing with her box cutter.

"Hmmn... Seems those girls are not the only one on my hit list... And to think my beloved younger step sister would figure herself into this mess... This will definitely be fun..." she said while letting off a fiendish smile.
