"Boss Superfreak to CO, what's your status." Superfreak called out

Kevin pulled out a radio "CO here," He answered "Main Street has been cleared of all Lyokoian activity. Status report on your end."

"Nearly all Agents accounted for." Superfreak reported "We've managed to push the remaining Lyokoian forces back towards the core and disconnect the two residential districts of Google from Main Street and the Core. Agent KC is still in the Google site at an unknown location. He is the only one still in action without reporting in. I can't get a response from him"

"Knowing him as I do, he's most likely headed towards the core to battle the leader." Kevin replied, "I'll see if the Lyoko Warriors and I can catch up to him."

"Be careful CO," Superfreak warning "remember the warning we got from that informant about the leader."

Kevin hummed "I'm prepared," He replied "I have my virus mode active with a viral Armlet equipped for extra defense."

"Good," Superfreak replied "but monitor your health, remember virus mode disables log out. I don't need you deleted."

"Yeah, Yeah." Kevin replied in slight annoyance "Hey Axel throw me a Viral Potion will ya."

"Here you go, CO" One of the larger mettaur replied in English as a red can of soda appeared and was lightly tossed at Kevin

Kevin grabbed the can with ease, popped it open, and quickly drank down the contents with a thirsty gulp. He shook his head making a funny sound as he finished it. "ah, Life Points regenerated."

"uh you got anything for us." Odd said as he the other warriors were recovering from the fight

Wheelermon transformed back into an off road vehicle and popped open his small trunk area and it was filled with recovery drinks "help yourselves Warriors." He stated, "I packed as much I could."

"Thank you" Aelita replied

The group quickly got drinks and started to restore their lifepoints thru them.

"Alright CO, we'll leave the final push to you, and the Lyoko Warriors. If you need backup call us immediately. I still have a few teams active."

"Will do." Kevin replied "CO out." He clicked off the radio.

Kat took a drink and said "so what's the plan Kevin."

Kevin exhaled "let's see here" He pulled out a site map and looked it over "From Boss Superfreak's report, all that remains of the Lyokoian Forces has been pushed into Main Street and the Core," He ran a finger along the main street and the core area "and since Main Street has been cleared, that's leaves the Core Area." He lightly tapped the map and expanded it and it showed a single major road leading into a circular area at the far side of the circular area and it was marked with site tower.

Odd said "so we have to break into the core through a databattle?"

Kevin shook his head "thankfully no, since KC and I designed the security protocols, anyone with our security key can have direct access, which includes myself, the agency, and now you guys through Aelita."

Jeremy hummed "so we have the key to access the core all that we need to do is get either you KC or Aelita to the tower so the system can be reset."

Kevin nodded and but then frowned "however because you guys have a slight weakness due to your codes and the Lyokoian's codes being anti-codes or opposites of each other. You and the other warriors should focus on getting into the tower while I keep the programs and their leader busy."

Yumi turned concerned "Are you sure you can handle it without us?"

Kevin gave a slight glance behind himself and three particular characters were about fifteen feet behind him, Wheelermon, A Gold colored Flyer, and one of the mettaur viruses. The three glanced towards him as the screen did a triangular type split of all three getting close ups and they all nodded once.

"Viral Synchronization activated." A computerized female voice sounded

The camera zipped back to Kevin as he smirked "Oh I think 'we' can handle it. Team Virus, Viral Fusion." He leapt backwards

Wheelermon roared then transformed into what appeared to be full body armor made out of off roader parts that bonded to Kevin.

F5 and Axel M turned into light and shot into Kevin and the back armor transformed turning into a triangular jetpack. A large shield like plate appeared on Kevin's left arm while his original pickax shimmered and split into two allowing Kevin to dual wield.

"Whoa." Ulrich stated

Kevin looked at the warriors then grinned as he stood up "that's just the fusion, check out the final product when I add a little light to the mix." He looked to the sky "Let the light of the world shine strong." He stated as he held up the two pickaxes

A beam of light shot down from the sky and hit the two pickaxes and they transformed into a white staff with a Z symbol at the base.

Kevin grabbed the staff and tapped it against the ground and light surged through the form turning Kevin from a black clothed and black face painted virus into a full-power armored warrior that shone with light and wielded a powerful staff like one you would see a ruler wield.

"Fusion Complete." Kevin said "Key of Light online." He spun the staff once then held it in an attack position as he shined with light.

Kevin looked at the warriors. A smirk grew on his face.

Liz stared in silent shock

Odd stared "meow…" He moaned "talk about handling it."

Aelita said "amazing."

Yumi hummed in approval

Ulrich said "so I take it that's your ultimate battle form."

Kevin chuckled as he nodded "that's right," He posed slightly "my Key of Light form is my ultimate form. By syncing myself with three of my best friends, Chris Rollen or Wheelermon, F5 the Condor Virus, and Axel M the Mettaur virus, we unlocked a viral fusion mode which was powerful in itself but when I fully learned how to believe in the light of that fusion it allowed me to summon the staff of light which gives my fusion a powerful weapon to wield.

Jeremy blinked as he studied Kevin "Even with my genius level intellect. It would take me months to figure out how you managed to compile that form Kevin. It must have taken you years to program it"

Kevin chuckled "fact is Einstein I didn't compile it. A miracle created the sync code allowing the fusion to occur from there it was just a matter of faith and trust, things that you can't really explain logically."

Ulrich said "A matter of faith and trust."

Kevin said "when you believe in things anything and everything is possible."

Kat grinned "sweet battle form Kevin, can't wait until I unlock that in the game."

Kevin looked at her "you can unlock it as early as the first game's final boss but it takes a lot of grinding and you automatically unlock it at the second game's final boss."

Kat said "I see, so it is worth getting it for the first game's final boss."

Kevin made various expressions as he made various sounds of uncertainty.

Kat gave him a look, "No huh,"

Kevin sighed "yeah," He stated "you may unlock it as early as the first final boss but the boss is scaled to your level so if you go for the best form with the highest level, you get an equally strong boss to face. You can't just level grind and expect to easily beat the final boss"

Kat hummed "that doesn't sound so bad. I mean it sounds like a fair way to play the game even with a super form"

Kevin made a slight face "yeah, that is until you load the second game into your save file then you well…" He was hesitant to spoil what happens

Kat gave him a look "tell me." She demanded

Kevin sighed "you lose access to it and the fusion form within the prologue chapter of the game and you can't get either back until you regain the fusion at the near end of the second game and the Key of Light form only activates at the final boss."

Kat jaw dropped "what?!"

Kevin exhaled "I didn't go as far as to rip you of everything you worked for in the previous game but the Fusion and the Key of Light Form had to go because of the storyline.

Kat said "why?"

"The storyline is my story after all." Kevin explained "The power got ripped from me after I faced him the first time and the prologue ends with that battle"

Yumi said "faced who?"

Kevin said "A very powerful warrior who I owe my life to but this is not the time for stories we have a mission to complete. You all ready"

Jeremy said "You take the lead and keep the programs busy, we get Aelita to the tower at all costs"

Kevin said "I'll try and keep the leader off of you but if I'm busy with him, you guys will have to fend for yourself

Kat said "no sweat, Let's go."

Kevin looked at the sky and said "with the battle sequence over you can now use vehicles to get to the core. We better hurry and do so."

"Right!" came the response

Vehicles were summoned and the group all boarded vehicles

Kevin took off with his jet pack and he shot ahead hovering over the ground

The Lyoko Warriors quickly followed suit not wanting to be left group made it to the core doors only to find a stone statue of a familiar looking program standing at them

Kevin grunted "KC!" He stopped and went up to the statue.

KC was unresponsive due to the status petrification

The others came to the stop

"Whoa," Odd muttered, "talk about making a statue of someone important."

Yumi said "so that's what happened when you get turned into stone."

Kevin pulled out a radio "CO to Boss Superfreak, I've found Agent KC and I know the reason he's not responding."

"What happened?" Superfreak replied

Kevin said "Chaos turned him into a statue. He's got the petrification status condition on himself. I could have sworn I told him to equip a Viral Armlet."

"He gave it to one of our medics to protect them." Boss Superfreak replied

Kevin sighed "he's lucky Chaos didn't shatter him."

"What's a Viral Armlet do anyhow." Kat asked "I haven't seen that in the main game yet."

Kevin showed a red and black armband that had a crisscross pattern on his right arm and said "it's one of the best defensive items in the virtual realm. In exchange for a fraction of your overall health you gain an excellent boost in defense and an ability that blocks all status conditions similar to ribbon in the Final Fantasy Games."

Kat turned impressed and said "hey that's nice, how can I get my hands on one."

Kevin hummed "if you guys ever get access to the M-village in this game you can talk to the leader M and he can whip you up a viral armlet in exchange for bug fragments you earn doing missions for them but if you don't I'm sure because of its rarity that back streets dealers may have one on them for a price"

Kat nodded "hmm," She hummed "I'll keep my eye out for it."

Odd said "so uh what can we do for Agent Stone here."

Kevin chuckled lightly at the joke "I'll get him free." He rubbed his hands together and they shimmered "Zero's and One's Refresh Program." He placed his hands on KC's back

A shimmer occurred throughout KC's body and he returned to normal

KC relaxed his body "uh thanks Kevin."

Kevin said "what happened KC, I never expected you to go down without a fight."

KC exhaled "I tried the diplomatic approach." He muttered "Chaos is having a hard time breaking the security code and I told him that I would unlock it in exchange for him and Harmony surrendering to me."

"but he didn't go for it." Kevin finished

KC shook his head "nope," He replied "just cast a spell and turned me into a stone statue. I could only watch as I was dragged back out here." He gave Kevin a serious look "remind me on critical missions not to try that move again."

"And I'll tell you another thing when I say equip a viral armlet for a boss fight, equip a freaking viral armlet." Kevin stated "how many fights have I recorded that the Viral Armlet has had a hand in saving my hide from Omega Moves and Status Conditions.

KC sighed "yeah yeah, I know, especially in fights in which you can't use the fusion or the key of light modes."

Kevin said "exactly. Please I know you got my brain in there somewhere use it."

Kat said "my brain?" She looked between KC and Kevin and started noticing some similarities "wait are you guys related somehow."

"that's impossible Kat." Jeremy stated "Kevin is a human and Agent KC is a program. The two can't be related directly."

Kevin chuckled "fact is Einstein we are directly related, but uh spoiler alert to those who haven't played the second game."

KC sighed "we may not look like it now but in human terms I'm Kevin's clone."

"Clone?!" The group stated

Kevin nodded "I started a project that copied my core sequence and input it into a new program creating a replica that would be able to mimic my every action and thought."

KC hummed "but as time wore on the program had a few errors develop due to a 'flaw' in the core sequence that flaw was a severe handicap that prevented it from being too far from a regeneration chamber. If the program wasn't regenerated every 24 hours it would be deleted."

"yowch." Kat muttered

Kevin hummed "with that flaw I inputted a patching code dubbed Omega that would correct the critical errors healing the handicap but prevent the program from being my clone. So the new program was allowed to grow and develop into his own existence" He pointed to KC "and that existence is what you see now. SMART Agent Karl Christopher,"

KC posed slightly as his hands transformed into arm cannons.

Kevin said "note that KC leans towards far range combat, shooting from a distance, sniping opponents, even setting traps for opponents to nail them when they think that no one is in range to damage them, he also has a get in get out and go home style which make him perfect for being an agent while I tend to stick around and receive the thanks or the curses for my actions."

KC exhaled "to this day I still don't understand why he has to pause a moment to taunt his opponents."

Kat grinned "oh I know exactly why." She smiled at Kevin "we love our ego boosted don't we CO?"

Kevin grinned back at her "oh yeah."

Jeremy and KC exhaled loudly in annoyance then looked at each other and KC said, "well at least one other understands my viewpoints."

Jeremy said "to taunt an opponent is asking to be taunted when you fall is that not the rule KC."

KC said "indeed, do unto others as you like to be done upon yourself and speaking of doing things. The mission is not yet over."

"that indeed it isn't." Kevin replied "You with us KC?"

KC hummed and pulled out a phone "as soon as I get…"

"KC!" A high pitched voice called out

A mettaur virus ran in.

KC said "Number 9 what's you doing here."

"Special Delivery," Number 9 replied as a red and black armlet appeared "your Viral Armlet." With a hit of a pickax it was launched to KC

KC caught it and quickly equipped it. "Thanks Number 9."

"No Problem. Check ya!" He zipped off

KC chuckled "my viral armlet."

Ulrich said "so you two can handle Chaos easily right."

KC nodded "with Kevin in his KOL form, and both of us wielding viral armlets we shouldn't have any problem. All you guys need to do is get into the tower and reset it. We'll keep the opponents busy and when it's clear go for it"

Aelita hummed "then let's go."

Kevin nodded then turned to the door "Access Code Gamma Omega, Sigma Gamma Epsilon."

The door beeped and opened

"Let's go." Kevin commanded

The group entered into the core area.
