I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I entered the house where I knew and expected Rosalie to bombard me with questions and interrogation. I wasn't in the mood for such questioning, but I knew it was unavoidable.

I turned the knob and let Alice go in first. As I followed her in, I could smell coffee. Coffee? This late in the evening? Alice laughed, "looks like Rosalie had a long day. Very unusual she is."

I peeked around the corner into the kitchen, and at a small glance I could see Rose sitting at the dark wood table, mug in hand and still dressed in her tight black dress she left earlier in. Her curls were not as primped, but they still held a certain bounce. Something I believe was natural. I wondered how her lunch date went with her gentlemen. Perhaps I could put the conversation on her.

Or…, I straightened my body, I could try to avoid the whole conversation until a later time. I smiled as, instead of the kitchen, I took a roundabout way to the staircase and quickly went up the stairs to my room. I exhaled deeply and then looked at my phone. Did I really want to have this talk with Edward right now? Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do. After all, why did I care if he overpaid me? Money was money. And in all fairness, he was paying for me.

I flopped on my bed and let my purse and phone fall to the side. I saw the white envelope of money slip out a little. How much did he actually give me? I pulled myself up, and picked up the envelope, pulling out the stack of cash. I looked at it and felt disgusted again. It was nicely separated into bundles of hundreds, each bundle amounting to a thousand. I counted five bundles. Five thousand dollars! -wait….Five thousand dollars?! For a visit?

I tried to regain my composure. It was upsetting to me. I did feel a certain connection to Edward, but the money made me feel cheap and buyable. I, I suppose I was buyable, and if any other man had given me such a sum I would have not given it a second thought. But it was different coming from Edward. He was still a job, but more than a job?...

I dropped the money on the bed and made my way to the shower. Perhaps this was my way of making myself feel less dirty. What did Edward really think of me? Perhaps in his world I really was only something to be bought. I mean I was, but still. I thought it was a little more than that. I undressed quickly and turned on the water. My hair fell loosely around my shoulders as I leaned in to feel the temperature of the water. I fiddled with the knobs until it was perfect temperature.

With one foot into the wet shower I heard the sharp ring of my phone.

Really?

I looked at my phone that was still on the floor by the bed, and then at the water that was splashing against the white tiled floor in my shower. I knew who it was. I bit my lip considering showering over him.

Another persistent sharp ring cut through the silence. I rolled my eyes as turning off the running water, then pulled my wet foot from the shower and onto my bathmat. I distinctly remember telling him I would contact him.

I bobbled over to the phone and picked it up. Two unread text messages stared back at me. I clicked on them

"Are you going to call me?" I shook my head. This guy has no patience.

"Is everything ok?"And he is a worrier.

My naked form sat on the edge of my bed as I typed back, "Yes, I'm fine".

His reply was swift, not even three seconds had pasted before his reply popped up. "You are home safe then I gather."

"Yes, Edward, I'm fine. Thank you." There was a long pause between our phones. I waited to see what he would say, but he was quiet. I looked at the screen waiting for some reply. Finally I slowly typed, "I got you envelope." That seemed like a painless way to bring up the subject.

"Yes, I know."

"It wasn't what I expected."

"What do you mean?" He couldn't honestly be in the dark about the obscene amount of money he left me. And he was acting like it was normal and there was something wrong with me.

"Edward. I can't accept this much money from you." Maybe that wasn't the right thing to say to my new boss, who was filthy rich and could spare the money anyways, but it had to be said. I bit the side of my lip as I waited for his reply. He was quiet. I took a deep breath and looked around my room. The right thing to do would be to thank the man for his generosity and move on. But I never was good at doing the right thing.

Finally my phone lit up, "Why not?"

Why not? Because it was degrading. And too much.

"I just can't. It just doesn't feel right, if you know what I mean."

"It feels right to me. :)" I smiled at the smile at the end of his sentence. It seemed so unlike him.

"I would like to talk about the prices first before this type of pay is administered Edward."

"I understand Bella." A sigh a relief came over me. That was easier than I expected. "Are we still doing this?" I looked at the words carefully and wondered why he asked that. In fact, did I still want this? We were just getting started and already problems had come up.

"I guess Edward. But I would like us to be more open about these decisions before they are made and done."

"Ok. Isabella, I understand. It is not my nature to offend you. We will do that from now on."

I smiled again. "Can I give you a little advice?"

"Lol, you want to give me advice? Bella, you have my undivided attention. I'm breathless to hear it."

"I was just going to say that perhaps you should be slower when spending your money. I mean, I know you have money to spare, but it can seem a little carless of you." It sounded like I was scolding him. I mean, I was trying to. A little.

"I agree. Good advice. But I'm sorry to say, that advice doesn't apply in this case Bella. What was given was not a mistake. Or careless. It was well spent. But I appreciate your attempt of scolding me. I'd say, that falls into the bad girl category."

Bad girl? I laughed a little. Did he really just say that? I fumbled around in my mind for the right reply but his came quicker.

"I promise we will discuss this matter more in detail and come to an agreement Bella."

"I'm sorry, Edward, I can't let that go. Did you just call me a bad girl?"

"Yes. But I'd like to have that conversation in person, if you don't mind. :)" Another smiley face….

"I am your companion. I'll do what you ask." I smiled again.

"Oh Bella, don't say that. Don't let my mind wonder with that kind of free will."

"Well, within reason."

"Better."

I was feeling uncontrollably warm all over my body and in my face. I should end it before it goes too far for a first night meeting. "Edward, I'm going to head to bed. Thank you for speaking with me and being so agreeable."

"You can always speak with me Bella. About anything. And I will always try to be agreeable with you. I'm very happy with your service. I only wanted to repay you for the wonderful dinner date you gave to me. Goodnight. Sleep well."

Wow, that was easy.

"Thank you for your kindness. I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

"I am very much looking forward to it. Seeing you again. For my sake, try not to look too stunning. Remember, I have to bring you home unmolested."

I chuckled again and bit my lip again as a warm blush came over me again. Edward was very forward. He really didn't hold anything back it seemed.

"I'll take that into consideration."

"Just know that if something happens, it's your fault. I can only hold the monster back for so long."

I smiled again,"Should I be afraid?"

"Perhaps. Remember, I warned you." Was it bad that I was getting a little turned on? It didn't help that I already had my clothes off either.

"I'll consider myself fairly warned then."

"I hope you won't consider this too intrusive or perverted. May I ask, what you're wearing to bed?"

My skin shivered and got goose bumps as a hot flash of red spread across my cheeks and I could feel the heat rise.

"If that's too much too soon I understand Bella. I was just irrepressibly curious about it."

"Well, nothing at the moment." Was I actually trying to be sexy? I mean it was the truth. But I could have made something up. There was a long pause before he replied.

"Nothing? As in…nothing."

"Well, I was on my way into the shower when you texted me."

"Shower?"

"Yes. I just wanted to clean up and get some rest."

"I think its best I let you go now Bella. Get some sleep. Sleep well." That was fast….. I expected him make some snide comment, but he just ended it. Unexpected.

"Thank you Edward. Sleep well." I waited for a response, but there was only silence. Nothing. I waited a few more minutes before I gave up and tossed the phone on my bed making my way to the shower.

Did I say something wrong I wondered. Perhaps I should apologize. I said it to get somewhat of a reaction, but not that reaction.

After shampooing and washing well, I slipped into a soft black tank and cotton shorts. A flow of steam poured out of the bathroom door as I opened it and let the cool air encircle my soft warm skin.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Rose sitting on my bed running her fingers through the ends of her curls. When our eyes met she smiled at me.

"So, how did it go today?"

I scratched the back of my head slowly, "it went well I think. I mean he was nice. I have another date tomorrow with him for a company dinner."

"And you feel comfortable with him? That's what's most important. Was there any chemistry with him? He wasn't gross or anything?"

"No. I mean yes, I feel comfortable with him. I feel really comfortable with him. He and I seemed to get along well enough too. He's very clean, takes care of himself." I think.

Rose smiled again. "Did he pay you?"

I laughed, "yes he paid me." She looked at me as if she was waiting for me to say how much but didn't want to be bold and ask. However, I wasn't going to tell her. Not that I didn't trust her, I just wanted to keep some things to myself. And she seemed to understand that as she nodded and stood up.

"Well, good. He should treat you good. I'm happy it went great. He invited you back right away. He must've have been really impressed with you. Forgive me for taking at least half of that credit since I trained you." She gave me a mischievous smile as she made her way over to the door. "By the way, you have a missed phone call, and two texts. Someone is eager to reach you." She chuckled a little as she exited.

I smiled awkwardly. When the door clicked shut I dashed over to my phone and saw what she said was true. Quickly I put in my code and saw His name. My heart was beating fast as I opened the texts.

Text 1: "Bella, are you still awake?"

Text 2: "Bella, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to end so quickly and cold. I just wasn't expecting to have those images run through my mind without satisfaction. If you can understand. I shall be up all night now. I hope I didn't scare you off." I grinned at his use of words. Clever.

I typed out, "Edward. I understand. No worries. Perhaps that was not the right thing to say. We only just met." Send.

I jumped at the immediate response.

"You did nothing wrong. It was my imagination that needed to be controlled better." I cleared my throat with a smile.

"It's ok Edward. I understand. Perhaps you could share them with the class…." I laughed at my words and was slightly surprised I was being somewhat playful/naughty.

"Share them? Bad girl."

I giggled at his response.

"In good time I will."

"Teach me your way of thinking, so I can be a good companion. :)"

"I will teach you many things Bella, in good time. All at once I feel would overwhelm you."

"I can take it."

"You think?"

"Yes. Teach me the way you want me to be. Make your imaginations real." Was this still Isabella Swan talking? Was this still me?

"Dangerous words. But I like your willingness to please. It's an offer that if you make in person, I will not turn down."

"Open my mind to your world Edward."

"Bella. Don't be so eager to enter my twisted imagination of desires."

"It's too late for me to turn back. Right?"

"I will let you turn back Bella."

"Even though I'm eager to bring your desires to life?" He was quiet for a moment.

"We will see. You should sleep Bella. Its late." I smiled again as I laid down on my pillow. I had never done anything like this before. It felt right, and dark. Edward seemed to unlock a box of badness and naughtiness inside me that had been waiting to be opened.

":) Yes. I am tired. Goodnight Edward. Sleep well."

"Goodnight Isabella."

I smiled and giggled a little to myself. I wondered what exactly was going through his mind. I mean I had a good idea, but to have his take on it would be better. I gripped my pillow and bit my bottom lip. I wondered what it would be like to…..No Bella. Don't go there. I was supposed to be taking things slow. I mean we were.

However, I was already so attached to Edward for some reason. It felt comfortable to be myself. But on the flip side, I could feel a certain darkness about him that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The bad part was that, that's what held my interest. I wanted to enter into his darkness. I wanted to explore it with his lead.

And tomorrow would give me the perfect opportunity.

I my eyes jolted open in excitement as they instantly looked at my clock which read 8:05am. I officially had seven hours and fifty-five minutes till Edward picked me up for our date tonight. I could feel a wave of butterflies go through me as Edward's face flashed through my mind.

If I knew anything, I knew Edward would be on time. Like on the dot time. And I also knew, I had to look amazing.

I wanted to look fabulous. Worth belonging in his world. I had never experienced real wealth before, or been around those with so much money. That was his world. I didn't want to stick out as too different.

I wanted to challenge his will of control over his emotions.

That meant I would be calling on Alice. With her fashion skills and my witty charm, Edward will have to be on guard tonight. Well, maybe just the fashion.

Alice was a little upset I woke her up so early, but after a few lip pouts she finally hauled herself up and helped me with my attire. We settled on a very light green knee length dress, that delicately flowed across my legs when I walked. I had insisted that green was not my color but Alice told me I was crazy for not seeing how good it looked on me. She was after all the expert. It was a fight not worth fighting.

She helped me primp my nails, makeup, and lastly hair.

At 3:40, twenty minutes till Edward arrived, Alice pulled out the dreaded high heels. I looked at them as my well known enemy. They were a pair of golden open toed shoes that had small shimmering diamonds on the straps. Alice smiled at me as she set them down on the floor for me to step into.

Reluctantly I slid my feet in and she sealed the strap, as if closing a trap door. High-heels were my down fall, pun intended.

There I stood before Alice, my hair pined up in a soft bun, a pair of pearl studs in my ears, the light green dress swaying at my knees and the heels fit snuggly on my feet. I smiled at her. "So, how do I look?"

She laughed, "you look beautiful Bella, trust me. Only one more thing is needed." She ran into my bathroom and pulled out a bottle of perfume. She sprayed it into the air and let it land on me where it may. Then she sprayed some on her fingers and swiped her fingers across my neck and a little under my ear.

"Why there?" I asked.

She smiled at me again. "They are the go to spots for most men." I blushed at the sight of Edward leaning in to kiss me, but quickly put it out of my mind and reminded myself this was business.

"Thank you Alice, how can I repay you for this," I hugged her.

"Bring home the money," she laughed, "and we will go shopping." I managed a small laugh even though I was nervous beyond belief. My heart was racing with the thought of seeing Edward's face, his eyes, his smile. His touch.

"He should be here any minute," I said out of breath.

"Did you give him the address?" shit. All the blood drained from my face. I looked around for my phone, tripping over my high heels. omg, omg, omg. "Bella, calm down," Alice said a little worried.

I snapped up my phone that was sitting under my pillow on my bed. It held two texts. I bet he is mad. Maybe he had asked me for the address and I forgot to text him it. I opened the texts.

Text 1: 9:30am: "Good Morning Isabella. I hope you slept well. I look forward to seeing you tonight."

Text 2:3:50pm: "I will be there in 10 min." I looked at the clock, as it read 3:55. How? How could he be here without the address? Were we supposed to meet somewhere and I missed it? Was I supposed to meet him back at his hotel somewhere?

I heard Alice voice cut into my thoughts, "did he text you?"

"Yeah," I said not really paying attention to her but instead frantically replying to Edward.

"Edward, I'm sorry. I forgot to give you the address. Or were you expecting for us to meet at a given location?"

"Hello, Isabella. I'm outside. Please come." Oh god.

"He is outside," I said to Alice. Alice's eyes widened a little in surprise. Then ran and grabbed a black clutch purse and put it around my shoulder. She grabbed my hand and led me to the front door as I seemed to be a little panicked and nervous. This is how I imagined how prom would have felt if I really went. She kissed me on the side of my cheek.

"Bella," she said seriously, "you look great. And it will be fine. Keep it professional and remember your limits."

Got it. Professional. And limits. She grabbed the phone from my hand and tucked it away in the small purse.

"Call if you need anything," she smiled again. "Now go, he's waiting," she opened the door and pushed me out. Hearing the door shut behind me my eyes landed on the most heart stopping image.

I blinked once and swallowed hard as I stood there looking at a well fashioned Edward. Dressed in a black button suit, a gold watch around his wrist and a small smirk as his eyes locked on me. They held me in place.

Professional I repeated to myself. Edward's face darkened into a mischievous grin as he motioned for me to come with one finger. I'm so screwed. Heels don't' fail me now.

I straightened myself and took slow graceful steps to Edward who had one hand in his pocket and one hand that was stationed at his side, hanging freely. His tie was diamond pattern with the shades of grey and white. I could see the white shirt beneath that came up and perfectly collard his neck. He looked amazing.

His hair looked effortlessly styled. And the smile on his lips was simply worth looking at forever.

I let out a breath I had been holding in as I reached Edward and stood before him. He took my hand and stepped closer to me closing the small distance between us, placing a small kiss on my neck. My breath caught as his warm moist lips touched my skin. I could feel the shivers up my spin and the butterflies in my stomach. He smelled incredible. He moaned a little letting out a small breath as he breathed in my scent. "Perfect" he said.

When he pulled back he looked as if he was holding back something inside himself. He rubbed his thumb on my hand smiling again at me. "Good evening Bella. You look beautiful." I blushed, and looked away from his emerald eyes.

"Thank you Edward."

Edward's head bent down to look into my eyes, "look at me". Turning my gaze from the first button on his suit and lifting it to meet his eyes I found myself frozen again. His eyes were intense and so capturing. "Beautiful," he repeated. I smiled slowly at him.

He smiled back at me, confident and composed. While still holding my hand, he turned and opened the car door to a silver BMW, motioning to me. I was careful to get in slowly and he seemed to understand that I was nervous about falling in as he held my hand up until I was in comfortably.

Edward smoothly slid into the other side, starting the engine with a rumble. As we drove, I clutched my purse in my lap and I struggled to keep my eyes plastered to the road, although the silence was a little unnerving.

"You're very quiet. Is there anything you would like to discuss Bella before we are in the company of others?"

Like what? I couldn't think of anything. "Not that I can think of at the moment Edward, but thank you for asking."

Edward laughed a little. I thought for a moment.

"Actually," I said, "there is something. How did you know where I lived?"

Edward glanced at me for a moment with a smirk before returning his eyes to the road. "I make it my business to know where you live. Since you are my companion."

"Oh." That seemed a little evading on my privacy.

"Does that bother you?"

"No," I said quickly.

"It doesn't?" He seemed surprised.

"Well," I started, "I seems a little encroaching on my privacy. I was just surprised is all."

I saw Edward grin as he hit the turn signal and pulled into an open parking structure, shutting off the engine. I searched for any signs that he was angry but he just seemed calm and composed. After straightening his tie he turned to me. His tongue slid across his lips as he reached for my hand that lay in my lap. I tensed a little, but relaxed when he placed his warm hand on mine.

"Perhaps it was a little intrusive." No apology, just a smile. A breath taking smile. I was about to say something smart or argumentative but stopped when he pulled my hand up to his lips and kissed it gently. "Shall we?" He smiled as all thought left my mind, as if he knew exactly what to do to make me bend to him.

"Yes," I said in a low voice. Where exactly were we going? He exited the car and I looked out the window to see in the distance a plane coming in for landing. My mouth opened a little as my eyes widened watching it take its smooth land. My door opened and Edward held his hand out again for me.

My heart was pounding and I realized that I was very out of place and slightly out of breath. Did I really belong in this world? His world? Edward's hand clasped mine as we walked to the small plane. He walked with an elegant glide that screamed confidence and money. I felt myself fidgeting next to him. I must have looked ridiculous next to him. His hand tightened around mine and he looked at me with a reassuring smile.

"It's ok Bella. Stop being so shy," he grinned at me. I couldn't help the small blush that crept into my cheeks. Did he always have to be so sexy, even when he was demanding? I nodded as I took a deep breath before entering the plane one step at a time.

I found my nose pressed against the thick glass, looking at the ground below us as we flew in the air.

I felt a warm hand slide some of my hair that rested on my neck away, as it was replaced by a pair of warm moist lips. My breath caught in my throat and I closed my eyes to let the sweet sensations run through my body as his lips lingered for a moment on the small of neck. I continued to face the window.

I felt his lips then slide up to my ear. I struggled not to laugh because it tickled a little. His breath perked the hairs on the back of my neck and I could feel goose bumps starting to form. "Look at me," he whispered.

I opened my eyes, but I didn't turn to him. I don't know what kept me frozen there. Something told me that if I faced him, it would be the end of my entire sanity, the little bit of control I had left. My lips parted to let out a silent breath, which left a small fog on the window.

Edward placed his hand around my neck, tracing it down to my collarbone. My heart started to pump rapidly. Edward bit the tip of my ear and laughed at little, "I said look at me Isabella."

I turned slowly to face him. Our faces were inches away, our noses practically touching. The sunlight from the window caught the green in his eyes and made them look like shining emeralds before me. His hand moved from my collarbone, using one finger to travel up to my chin and then to my lips. With his thumb he pulled the skin on my chin down forcing my lips to part. For a moment I thought he would lean in and kiss me. I was so ready for him to.

I could see it in his eyes. I tried to move forward a little, but his grip on my chin kept me in place. He just smiled at me, while running his thumb over my glossy lips. "You look beautiful Bella."

"You don't look too bad yourself." What? What did I just say? Really Bella? That was lame. And stupid.

"You're not impressed Miss Bella?" I smiled. I wanted to think of something else to cover up that horrible remark, but my mind was completely blank. "Well, the night is still young, more opportunities for me to show you my world and dazzle you." He seemed amused by my response.

"You have already. I mean, you look amazing Mr. Edward- Edward." I blushed again. Just stop talking Bella.

"The night is still young," his eyes glanced down at my lips. He is going to kiss me. He leaned in and I bit my bottom lip, but instead Edward buried his face where my neck met my shoulder. "I love your smell," he breathed out.

"T-thank you." Who ever knew I would be so bad at this? I had to remember to thank Alice for putting perfume on me, in just the right places.

I heard a very slight moan escape his lips as he pulled back. "I've never struggled for control so much Bella." What did that mean? "Typically it's an automatic thing for me, but I'm finding it hard with you."

"Maybe," I put my hand on his, "you should let go and stop fighting so hard." Edward turned away and laughed. At first I thought he was insulting me. Maybe that was the wrong thing to say. I felt a little embarrassed for saying it. He turned back to me with a smile on his lips.

He took his hand from under mine. I frowned at this and felt like a complete idiot for saying something that reflected anything romantic. I had to remember this was still a job. That was silly of me. "Now that would be foolish of me," he said still smiling.

I just looked away to the window a little irritated only to see we had landed. "I think we are here. Ready to go?" I did have a little bit of a tone, but I wasn't in the mood to be romantic anymore. Edward continued to sit there with a soft smile on his lips not saying anything. After a moment I went to stand, but he put his hand on my knee forcing me back down in the seat. I narrowed my eyes at him a little, but his grip only tightened. So I set my hand on his silently asking him to loosen his grip, to which he did.

"My my, Isabella, you don't take rejection very well."

"Rejection? I don't know what you mean Edward." He grabbed the back of my head and pulled it swiftly to his, our lips meeting. My eyes widened as I felt his lips cover mine, and then the touch of his tongue glide across my bottom lip. I closed my eyes as it entered my mouth and I pushed into him closer to which he pushed back harder. It was a semi fight for control.

His teeth bit and pulled at my bottom lip. He pushed his lips back up against mine, making me let go of any control I had giving him the lead, feeling his tongue explore my mouth. He pulled back and I breathed in the air I was missing, my chest heaving. He softly pulled my forehead to his, "you see Isabella, if I stop fighting, if I let go, I will truly have no control. I promised I would get you home safe tonight, unmolested. I am a man of my word." He grinned and pecked me on my half open lips. "I would never reject you," he whispered.

I smiled at him. That was all I could do. I wanted more. I wanted him to kiss me again. It felt so right.

"Let's go," he grabbed my hand and helped me stand upright in my heels as if he already knew my internal war with high heels. I grabbed his arm to steady my balance and we walked out of the plane onto an open area that I came to realize was the top of a massive building. "It's just down those stairs," he said pointed to a flight of stairs that lead downward, "it will lead into the main lobby. And then our festive night will officially begin."

"Right," I said taking a deep breath.

"You will not leave my side Bella." I smiled a little relieved that I would be near him. But I could not tell if it was a command or if it was meant to be a reassuring statement to me. Perhaps he sensed my discomfort.

"I would be happy to stay by you the entire night Edward." He didn't look at me, he just smiled a wide grin.

"I would not share your company with anyone else. I alone will have the privilege of having the most stunning woman by my side tonight. Who can be a bit feisty at times, but incredibly sexy and dangerous."

I snorted a laugh. "So, I am to be a trophy tonight? A shiny new trophy for you to show off to all your friends?"

Edward smirked, "no Isabella. I would not treat you so ordinarily. They are most certainly not my friends. You will find I have very few friends." Why is that? "They are merely business partners that I must have occasional interaction with. I'm surprised you would compare yourself to a trophy. Trophies are put on a shelf, not to be touched just simply looked at. I could see how some men would view you that way Isabella, you are very beautiful, however I could never. I love getting to know you and touching you."

I pushed a piece of stray hair behind my ear that had fallen out of my bun. "I like when you touch me," I mumbled with a blush.

"Oh, do you," he said mischievously. "And I thought touching would be a problem in our relationship."

Well not the touching that led directly to sex. I wasn't ready for that. "Well, I mean you take things slow, and, well-"

"I understand Bella," he smiled at me. He leaned in and kissed me on my forehead. "Come, lets head inside."

Edward and I entered the gathering. It was a sight. Men with slick backed hair, dressed in black suits smoking cigars, drinking wine out of sparkling glasses and laughing heartily. Beautiful young women draped elegantly over the arms of old men, smiling with their red plush lips and diamonds hanging from their ears, around their neck and wrists.

I could hear the pop of corks, glasses clinking together and a buzz of voices coming together. The purr of women spoiling, and seducing old men in sweet seduction. The smell of cologne, and sweet perfumes coming together.

Edward placed his hand on my lower back and pulled me close to his hips as we walked further into the lively festivity. "Don't be intimidated Bella," he whispered to me.

How could I not? It was clear I was out of my element.

"Mr. Cullen!" I heard a man shout. He quickly approached us, "ah Mr. Cullen, Mr. Cullen," he grabbed Edward's hand and shook it, "it sure is a real pleasure to see you here. I almost lost hope that you weren't coming. But you're a man to never disappoint." The man gurgled a laugh spilling some of his alcoholic drink to the floor.

Edward smiled, "Nor to be disappointed. How is the dink tonight Mr. Vanpel?"

The man smiled and laughed again while tapping Edward on the back, "its flowing. Intoxicating."

"Clearly," Edward said with a fake smirk while removing the man's hand. "You seem to be enjoying the drinks very much."

"It's only the beginning of the night Cullen. Much more to come." His eyes drifted to me. And he paused to look me up and down. I half smiled as he gave me a grin. "Much much more to come," he said smiling at me while taking a drink of his beverage.

I cringed as I felt Edwards fingers dig into my side, his grip tightening around me. I looked at Edward in an attempt to get his attention, as he was hurting me a little, but his face was zeroed in on Mr. Vanpel. "I'm sorry, how rude of me not to introduce Miss Swan to you."

"Indeed," the man said waving his eye brows at me which I found to be cheesy. "You are full of surprises Cullen. May I?" He held a hand out to me. My heart jumped for a moment as I went to back away but Edward held me in place and simply laughed.

"Isn't there enough seductive women here for you to feast your eyes and hands on?"

"Oh, Cullen. I mean no harm," he chuckled, "nothing personal you know. Just wanted to take her for a walk about."

Edward smiled again, "I take no offense Mr. Vanpel. Excuse us." We turned quickly and made our way to a pair of double doors. I smiled at Edward's presence of command and smooth words of insult to the man. I heard several voices call out Edward's name from behind, but he simply gave them a wave of the hand, a small smile and nothing more before we entered in through the double doors.

The load noise of the crowd was instantly muffled as the doors shut behind us. Edward smiled at me. "How are you so far Bella?"

"Very well Edward thank you," I smiled up at him.

"I'm pleased. You will forgive me for being a little rough. I do not wish to share you, as I said I do not intend for us to be parted this evening."

I laughed. "I'm glad you said and did those things Edward. I wish to remain near you." I put my head down a little, to which he immediately put his hand under my chin and lifted it.

"Very good Bella." He leaned in and placed a kiss on my reddened check. "You're so beautiful."

The rest of the evening Edward and I sat side by side at a delicately set table with polished men and their female trophies. Endless courses of appetizers and dishes were placed on the table as Edward talked business about new upcoming changes and partners of the company in the making. I found myself drinking more water than I intended to, and being more adventurous in trying unfamiliar appetizers.

Never once in the dinner did Edward slouch or fail to ever be at a loss for words. He would sip his wine, occasionally take a bite of food and then go back to taking control of the conversation. However, he kept one hand on my leg under the table continuously stroking it, flashing me a smile every time his hand traveled to my inner thigh.

It did not escape our notice that I would jump a little every time I felt his warm fingers slid between the folds of my dress letting his thumb rub on the delicate skin of my inner thigh. When it became too much I would place my hand on his and he would move back to my knee always with a smirk.

As I looked at Edward, it was amazing how charming he was. And I couldn't help but wonder, why he chose me. I was sure many girls threw themselves at him. He was the perfect combo of wealth, brains, and desirability in looks.

Edward suddenly looked at me as if he could sense my thoughts, although I knew he couldn't, and gave me a look of pure bliss. Underneath the table his hand grabbed mine and intertwined our fingers. "Are you ok Bella?"

"Yes Edward," I smiled. His hand squeezed mine affectionately.

"Here," he grabbed his wine glass and lifted it to my lips, "try this wine. Its sweet, you will like it." I really didn't want any wine, but I didn't want to embarrass Edward either and say no. "Trust me," he smirked.

I leaned in and put my lips to his glass taking a small sip as he tipped the glass. I swished the red liquid in my mouth, feeling the light burn of the alcohol as I swallowed it. It was delightfully smooth and sweet. Much like the wine we had the other night for our first dinner.

"I do like it," I said smiling at him. "Is it the same wine from the other night?"

"Yes," he grinned at me, "glad you remembered. When I drink it, I have sweet thoughts about you from that night. It is becoming one of my favorites to drink." He lifted the glass to his lips and took a big gulp of it almost draining it completely.

Edward had poured me a glass of the wine to which I drank gladly. I was not used to drinking much alcohol. I knew my tolerance was low for it. But it was a good wine. And I found it kept me occupied while the conversations continued.

Edward constantly showered me with complements. I was starting to accept it as a finality and as an unavoidable part of our relationship.

After many cakes and delicacies were severed Edward became more quiet during the conversations that seemed to be getting louder and more robust as the empty wine bottles lined up. I poured myself several glasses of the sweet wine. Edward raised a brow at my willingness to drink the liquid, but then smiled at me. I was convinced that most of the important details had already been sorted out and now the men were enjoying the thrill of good wine and company that only great wealth could afford.

I could feel the effects of the warm liquid in my stomach. The easy calming feeling.

Their faces turn red with laughter as they started to shout back at one another about company policies and taxes. I was also now convinced that even well-dressed men could just as easily be well-dressed pigs.

Edward smiled here and there, finished the rest of his wine and turned to smile at me. He leaned in and pressed his lips against my ear, "are you ready to get out of here?"

"Absolutely," I smiled at the playful grin on his face. Edward and I stood. We simply snuck away from the loud and boisterous scene before us. I laughed as we scampered through the double doors from which we came in, through the party scene where I had the displeasure of meeting Mr. Vanpel, and out the back door into the cold night air. Edward never letting go of my hand for a moment.

We both breathed in the fresh air. "Nice to get away," Edward said taking another deep breath.

"I agree. It's nice. It's a nice night." The night was lit up by small lanterns hanging up above us. There was a vast lawn that was lit by fairy lights all around.

"Come on," he said quickly pulling me across the lush green lawn.

"Edward," I laughed practically tripping on my heels in the thick grass.

"Take them off," Edward yelled playfully. I laughed at his spontaneous demeanor. It was like he was free child. He stopped for a moment breathing heavy. "Take them off."

I shook my head at his fun madness. I bent down and slipped off the heels holding them in my hand. Edward swung me up in his arms and I screamed in a blissful laugh as he took off in a sprint across the grass. "Hold on to me," he laughed.

I wrapped my arms around him and placed my face in the curve of his neck. "Where are we going?" I shouted as he ran.

"You'll see."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head again with a smile. At the end of the grass we reached a small garden with a well-lit walkway that led to a fountain. My eyes widened at the sight as Edward set me down on the ground.

"Wow," I said looking around at the flowerbeds that were planted with such care and precision. I could hear the soft running water from the fountain. "How did you know this was here?"

"One of my favorite ways to get away," he smirked, "and be alone."

"Alone," I repeated, "not very alone with me here."

Edward swung me into him, wrapping his arms around me. "I'm alone with you."

"I didn't realize you were so spontaneous Edward."

"Me?" He laughed. "Spontaneous?" He leaned in and put his forehead to mine. "What do you mean?"

"Running off into grass like a maniac," I laughed. Edward placed a kiss on my nose, then on my cheek.

"You make me happy Bella. You make me feel spontaneous. Get up and do anything. Its magic."

I put my head down and smiled, "Edward, you can do anything."

"Not necessarily. I'm incapable of controlling myself around you Bella. It was torture thinking about you through my entire day. And now finally having you to myself. In my arms. All to me."

Edward reached down to my arms and put them around his body. I dropped my heels to the ground. He reached up and undid my bun, letting my hair fall around my shoulders. He ran his hand through it rubbing the ends between his fingers. "Mine," he breathed out. I looked up into his eyes that glimmered in the soft lights of the garden.

For a moment we just stood there staring at each other in the silence. I looked his lips and bit mine. I wouldn't mind having another taste of his lips. I had never been kissed like that in my life. It was sensational. Addicting.

A wind blew across us giving me goose bumps. Edward smiled, "you are cold Bella."

"A little," I giggled. I actually giggled. "I'll be fine."

"Allow me to remedy that," he said placing small kisses up my arm and letting his warm breath flow on my arms. I trembled at the feeling. I put my hands on top of his head and ran my fingers through his messy hair. Edward lifted for a moment and moaned with his eyes closed.

He pulled one of the straps of my dress down my shoulder, his kisses becoming more forceful. He moved to my neck and I gasped as his mouth sucked in the skin on my neck. He sucked really hard but it felt so good. He let the skin go and then licked the tender spot. I wanted to scream but instead I just breathed out a soft whimper.

Edward pulled me over to a bench that was seated next to the fountain. He took his seat and gave me a devious grin looking up at me as I stood in front of his seated form. He ran the back of his hand along my arm. "You feel warmer Bella."

"I am, thank you Mr. Cullen" I breathed out. Edward looked so perfect as he smiled at me, running his hand through his hair. I was breathing heavy, my heart still pounding from the contact of our bodies.

"Bella," Edward said with a little concern, "would you like to sit? I think you should." Why was I so nervous? I should sit. So I sat.

Edward placed his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his warm body. I tipped and placed my head on his shoulder breathing in his wonderful masculine scent. I could feel the soft motion of his breathing as his shoulders went up and down, and for a moment I just lay there and embraced this perfect moment.

My eyes glanced up to sneak a peek at Edward. He was looking up towards the sky. I could see his eyes dashing back and forth as he looked up into the darkness. He looked almost angelic.

"What are you looking at?" I whispered.

Edward smirked. "Ever try counting the stars?"

I laughed, "I'm impossible Edward."

"Is it?" He looked at me with a smile.

"They are too numerous," I smiled at him.

"But they are awe-inspiring aren't they? Look at them." I looked up at the dozens of stars that were littered all over the dark blanket of the night sky. It was indeed a sight. My eyes darted across the large expanse of the sky moving from one twinkling star to the next.

"They are beautiful."

"It's too bad they are so far away," Edward said with a grin.

"What would you do with a star?" I laughed looking at him.

"Well…." he chuckled, "there are many things to do with a star. I would hold it close. I would cherish it. Let people look and admire it. Then I would name it."

I laughed again.

"I'm serious," he said pulling me closer to him.

"And what would you name this star? Just curious."

"Well that's where it gets complicated. A name should be special. Fitting. A star is known for its beauty. Its radiance, and it lights up the dark sky. I would name it Bella."

A deep blush crept into my cheeks as my eyebrows raised in surprise.

"A fitting name, don't you think? Like a falling star, you fell into my world, you light up my dark sky with your beauty and radiance. I'm happy to have my very own personal star."

"Edward," I whispered.

Edward leaned in and kissed my lips softly. I put my arms around his neck and embraced his lips welcoming his sliding tongue. He was so passionate I didn't want to let go. Edward pulled back, lifted me up and slowly set me in his lap, my legs easily going into a straddling position over his. He ran his hands up my backside and rubbed me gently looking at me with an intense gaze. His hands made their way to the open flesh of my legs where my dress hiked up due to the position. He rubbed it gently with a smile. I closed my eyes and let out a soft sigh. "Edward," I whispered. I could feel the emotions inside me stirring with passion.

"Yes Isabella?"

I opened my eyes looking at his obviously amused grin. I smiled at him. I pulled open his black suit jacket, unbuttoned the first few buttons so I could see his bare flesh. I put my hands to it and rubbed it gently letting my nails brush down his chest.

Edward's breath caught as he stopped the slow rubbing on my legs. I looked up at him with my own devious smile. I had power too.

"Do it again," he said.

I unbuttoned his shit a little further reviling his whole chest beneath his tie. I rubbed my arms and hands up his chest and then back down letting my nails catch his skin. Edward's head leaned back and he let out a breath as my hands stopped at the top of his pants.

I leaned in and kissed the center of his chest. Edward placed a hand on my head running his fingers through my hair. I licked his nipple and he jumped a little backing up. "Bella, Bella," Edward said in a raspy voice. "I think it would be wise if we stopped while we are ahead."

I leaned back and smiled at Edward. I knew he was right. But he always unleashed something inside me. Something dark and devious. I had never felt this before.

"I do not wish to take you here Bella. But if we keep going like this, I'm afraid I will have no choice."

Perhaps it was the wine but I felt warm and willing. And slightly dizzy. But not enough to stop me. "Then take me elsewhere."

Edward's face scrunched into confusion and then a grin, "Miss Swan, are you drunk?"

"No of course not. I'm in- perfectly- in control."

"Really," Edward smiled again. Perhaps I was a little intoxicated but I felt alright. "So you would be alright if I said I will take you to my bed now, ravish you with kisses, spread your legs and eat you until you scream from too much pleasure?"

My eyes lit up as I bit my lip and smiled. Edward's face blurred in and out for a moment. I shook my head and squinted my eyes until he came back into focus. "I want to eat ice cream," I said with a smile. Then I stopped. Why would he be asking me about ice cream? Wait, was that the question? Edward busted into laughter.

"Time to take you home Bella." I felt Edward lift me up and my head started to spin a little from the impact. He set me gently down on the bench seat. "Relax Bella. Put your head back." I leaned back and started to feel very dizzy. Uh oh. Please don't let me be sick.

Edward's form looked a little blurry to me as I watched him button his shirt and pull his jacket into place.

"Put your arms around me," he whispered. Edward lifted me with ease and started walking. I could hear the beat of his heart as my head lay against his warm chest. I did feel a little nauseous.

"Don't take me home," I managed to slur out.

"Where would you like to go Bella?" I could hear his voice, but it sounded like it was far off.

"Not home."

Edward chuckled. I felt my body go down as I was placed on a firm seat and then heard a click of a seatbelt. I felt it tighten as Edward tugged it a few times. "Close your eyes and relax Bella."

Edward was squatted on the ground looking at me. What an awful date I was. I should not have drank so much wine. I was supposed to be his company. "I'm sorry Edward" I said softly.

"For what?"

"I feel awful."

"You are sorry for feeling awful?"

"Yes, I mean no, I mean yes. I mean I feel awful for feeling awful." I felt Edward's hand brush across my forehead and tuck some of my hair behind my ear.

"Don't be."

"I'm supposed to be a good date."

"You are."

"I'm stupid. Drinking too much wine. My head is spinning." Edward chuckled.

"Shhhhhhhhh." I felt Edward's moist lips touch my head. "I'm going to get you into bed."

I smiled, "that sounds nice."

"To sleep." He snorted out. I smiled a little. But I could feel my world getting darker. I wanted to stay awake. But it was like swimming against a constant current of thrashing waves. It would be easier if I just stayed below and stopped fighting.

I closed my eyes. I could hear Edward's voice in the background, "it will be fine. Thank you. That should cover it." Was he talking to me? All I wanted to do was sleep.

I felt the start of the engine. As we drove away I could feel the cool breeze of the wind across my face from the open windows. It did help with the nauseous feeling a little.

I felt Edward's hand sit on mine in my lap. His thumb rubbed the back of my hand soothingly. All I could think was that I did not deserve it.

What a story this will be for Alice.

I heard a car door shut. And my eyes jolted open, but I quickly closed them again with a groan due to the dizziness. No more wine Bella. Ever. I must have drifted off. I tried to open my eyes but only could manage small slits. I looked out the window and saw a dim lit fountain. It reminded me of the fountain where Edward and I had been alone together in the garden.

The cold air encircled my body as my side door was opened and Edward reached in, undid the buckle and pulled me into his arms. "Here we go sweetheart."

I did not notice much as I decided to just lay my head against his warm chest.

The next thing I noticed was a soft padded surface beneath my body and a cloud of fluff under my head. I opened my eyes a little to see Edward's head leaned upon his hand, his elbow digging into the bed and his body outstretched sideways next to me. He smiled a little at me. "Go to sleep Bella."

I could not tell where I was exactly, and my head ached too much to interrogate the situation. I was comfortable, warm and I felt sleep approaching fast.

"You don't have to pay me," I mumbled out. I couldn't even tell if it came out in a complete sentence. Edward didn't respond. So I closed my eyes.

The last thing I remember was the feel of his lips on mine. Feeling the smile on his lips as he whispered something. Feeling the warmth of his breath through my parted lips. All I could manage to get out was a "don't go." Then the feel of his cold hand brushing against my hot cheek.
