I get the last chapter was dialogue heavy, it was hard writing it *Phew*. But there will be chapters like that sometimes. But there will most likely be more chapters like the first few *CheesyGrin*. This chapter is set a few days after Demons. This chapter has been difficult for me to write for some reason but I hope the rest will be easier.

I also get that this chapter sorta cuts through a scene at the end but I'm completely stymied & I haven't posted in months so I thought I'd jus get it up.

"Screw writing "strong" women. Write interesting women. Write well-rounded women. Write complicated women. Write a woman who kicks ass, write a woman who cowers in a corner. Write a woman who's desperate for a husband. Write a woman who doesn't need a man. Write women who cry, women who rant, women who are shy, women who don't take no shit, women who need validation and women who don't care what anybody thinks. THEY ARE ALL OKAY, and all those things could exist in THE SAME WOMAN. Women shouldn't be valued because we are strong, or kick-ass, but because we are people. So don't focus on writing characters who are strong. Write characters who are people."

Jade rolled her eyes as the phone started its familiar chirping. At 12:11am it could only be one person. She reached over the sofa arm & snatched it up.

"What do you want, Mulder?"

"Hello, how are you too?" He states sarcastically.

"Mulder..." She warns.

"After everything that happened in Rhode Island I told my mother about you. She wants to meet you."

"Aw, why?" She grumbles.

"You're the last connection to her daughter, please just humor her." She sighs audibly.

"Where & when?"

"She's coming down next weekend."

"You knew I'd agree, didn't you?" Jade accuses. She hears him chuckle.

"Yeah, you're too nice to refuse anyone." She grumbles at him.

"Where's she staying, anyway?"

"A hotel."

"Why isn't she staying at your apartment?"

"You've seen my apartment, its not her scene." She hums non-committally.

"Look, she can't stay at a hotel. You told me she recently had a stroke, didn't you? She can just stay with me. I have a spare room." He chuckles.

"You just can't help yourself, can you?"

"Shut up." She says before hanging up.

She had spent the entire morning that saturday cleaning, preparing for Mrs Mulder's arrival at noon. The entire apartment was clean & tidy, there was soup simmering on the stove & she was more then prepared. There was a short loud knock at the door & instantly she began panicking. She rushed to the door, brushing imaginary dust off of her knee length blue skirt & white peasant blouse as she went. She paused & inhaled deeply, when she reached the door, before opening it. The sight that greeted her was...

"Agent Scully? What are you doing here?" The redhead hesitated before answering.

"I know how Ms Mulder can be & I figured you could use more help then Mulder."

"That's very thoughtful of you, Agent Scully." They stood at the door awkwardly for a second before Jade ushered her in. "Please, sit down. Would you like a drink? Coffee... Tea... Water?"

"Coffee would be great, thank you." Scully said as she sat on the sofa.

"Coming right up, Agent Scully."

"Please, we're not at work. Call me Dana."

"Sure thing, Dana." Jade spoke uncertainly before walking into the kitchen & making the drinks.
