AN: Hello! Quick update isn't it!? I'm getting super pumped up for this next D. Gray-Man story I have ready. So, I want to try to finish this one before I start it.
Devil'sAngel'sDeath: It's okay you don't have to apologize. We are all busy in the real life and we don't need to have excuses for the real world for not reading and reviewing other people's stuff.
crownclown25: LOL, maybe you'll get your answer today!
Celestial Wolves: Happy you enjoyed the last chapter! I'm trying to get better at writing humor.
Chapter 16: To Remember Part 2
The black haired teen was looking out the window as scenery passed by endlessly. The train ride was getting boring with no conversation or argument going on. Sol could guess that Kanda didn't really want to deal with her right now. She looked at the fellow exorcist, her eyes half open. He was staring at the ground while holding Mugen. He was either meditating or bored like her. Their finder was sitting outside of their room. He was a middle aged man, who enjoyed reading from what Sol could gather from him.
She looked back out the window, not wanting Kanda to go into a murderous rage for her staring at him. Sol bonked her forehead against the window, she was bored and it would be another hour before they reached their destination. Their mission was to eliminate some akuma that were gathering around a town near London.
Sol sighed, knowing her hometown was near London too. She was wondering how Mrs. Smith was doing and everyone else there. She was happy that the town with the akuma wasn't hers at least.
"Hey Kanda?" The female exorcist practically whispered, looking back at him.
"What?"
"Do you have a family?" Some seconds went by with no answer. He continued to look down at the ground, not meeting her eyes. After a couple more silent seconds it finally dawned on her. "O-oh I'm sorry. I'll just shut up now." She quickly turned her face back to the window and now it was pure silence.
It was very awkward silence...
XXXXXXX
"Exorcist, we're here now." The finder said, knocking on the door. Sol sighed in relief, she was about ready to go insane from the boredom. Kanda stood up and walked out of the small room. The female exorcist got up and followed him out. They soon were out of the train and walking into the town. It was a big town and there were a lot of people walking around for so early in the morning.
"So where do we find the akuma?" Sol whispered to herself her heart beating furiously already.
"They'll find us Ushi." Kanda said crossing his arms.
"Would you stop calling me that!?" She yelled angrily. "Why do you call me that anyway!? It's so annoying!"
"Stop yelling."
"Why, your not my mother?"
"Would you two please stop?" The finder asked getting in between the two. "Your fighting could attract all the akuma in this town."
"Isn't that the point?" The samurai asked one eye brow raising. "I'm an exorcist and my mission is to kill akuma. If you're too afraid of dying I suggest you go back to the Order."
Sol scowled, having a huge a urge to punch Kanda right now. She bit her bottom lip from saying anything. Like the finder, she was scared too, this was only her second mission and her first was a disaster. The finder was about to say something, but a bullet noise stopped him.
Screaming started to rise in the streets. "Monsters!" Someone cried and people began to run.
"I think we found our akuma!" Sol yelled taking out both of her katanas. "Innocence, activate!"
"Mugen, activate!" Kanda ran his fingers up the blade until part of it turned white. When the activation was finished he dashed off.
"Kanda!" She yelled in annoyance. He's not going to listen to a word I say. She thought knowing she was right.
"Miss exorcist, what should we do?" The finder asked shaking a little.
"Go find a place to hide! Kanda and I will take care of the akuma." Without another word the finder dashed off. Sol turned to where the people were running from and ran towards them. People were passing by her, making it a little hard to move with so many people. Soon Sol had passed by all the people and in front of her were akuma. Kanda was fighting some off to her right, destroying them easily. The black haired teen scanned the area, seeing mostly level ones but a few level two.
Two level ones popped up in front of her. Sol gritted her teeth and began chopping away at them. They started to shoot at her, but she dodged the bullets and slashed one of them open. Once she cut the first one she quickly charged at the second. It backed away as she tried to cut it open. Once it flew far away from her it began to shoot again. Sol rolled to the left and ran towards the akuma with it's line of bullets right behind her.
The town was beginning to crumble already and there were parts of fallen building everywhere. She jumped onto some rubble and used it to jump further into the air. With the smaller katana she threw it and it stabbed into the level one. Once it contacted with the innocence weapon the akuma blew up into small bits. The exorcist landed safely on the ground and picked up her katana.
Sol guessed that Kanda had killed about fifty already, but there a lot of akuma here. The mission wasn't kidding on needing them eliminated. More level ones began to surround Sol has she started to attack more. These were all level ones, but numbers can sometimes be better than strength.
"Ichigeki!" Sol cried, sending the innocence power zooming towards the horde of machines. Some of them had dodged the attack, but other's didn't. The ones that did dodge Sol attacked swiftly.
"Why are there so many!?" She yelled out in frustration. She was panting heavily and a rush of panic was swelling in her chest. She looked down on the ground and saw that it was getting dark. She jerked her head up towards the sky and a huge boulder was flying down her. The female exorcist gasped and tried getting out of the way of the rock. She managed too, but the rock blew up once it hit the ground and some rock pelted her painfully.
There was a maniacal laughter coming from above. There was a level two akuma on the rooftop of a crumbling building. It was taking pieces of the building off and chucking it at her. Sol heaved and started running towards the level two. It continued to throw rubble at her. The teen dodged side to side, trying not to get hit by the spiraling stones.
She soon was on the rooftops and slashing away at the level two. It started to laugh more insanely as it dodged her attacks. Sol cursed inside her mind and lifted up her swords.
"Ichigeki!" She shot the energy horizontally and it cut the level two in half.
"Miss exorcist!" A voice yelled in panic. Sol turned around seeing another level two akuma in front of her with it's claws out, but it was surrounded in a bright box. She looked down on the ground from the roof to see the finder holding a strange device. "Please hurry!" He pleaded, "The barrier won't last for too lo-" The finder was cut of quickly.
A bullet went through his head. The stars quickly appeared on his skin and he faded to dust.
"NO!" Sol yelled as she watched the finder disappeared.
More insane laughter shook the air. The akuma that was in the barrier was charging at her again. It raised it's claws and took a swing at her. She raised her katanas defensively as the claws and steel collided. Sol braced her feet against the ground hoping that would help push the level two away, but it didn't seem to be helping as her feet was starting to break through the roof. Her feet were about to break through the roof when something cut off the akuma's arm.
It jumped back in pain and started screaming.
"You are so weak Ushi!" The voice was obviously Kanda's. He appeared in front of her and destroyed the level two.
"Well I'm SoRRy." She said gritting her teeth at the samurai.
"That was the last one."
"Wait what!?"
"I killed the them all why you prancing away!"
"I was trying to kill the akuma you idiot!"
"Well you were doing badly at it!"
"Just sh-" Sol didn't finish her sentence as she felt a pain in her stomach. She looked down, seeing blood oozing from her stomach. Not only that but a metal pole was stuck in her abdomen. Laughter could be heard and Sol was guessing it was an akuma, but her vision was getting blurry. She started to stumble and felt herself falling. After what seemed like forever, she felt her head come in contact with something.
Omake:
Sol:"Kanda."
Kanda: "What is it this time?"
Sol: "You never answered my question."
Kanda: "I'm not answering it."
Sol: "Why not?"
Kanda: "Because."
Sol: "Ugh just give me an answer! It's breasts or weight just say one!"
Kanda: "Fine, it's you br-, I mean weight!"
Sol: "Pervert."
AN: A little OOC Kanda at the end... I don't know if the next chapter should be the end. I was thinking of two more, but it might just be one. Who knows what I'll do.
