"Very smart, missy. Static, huh? Maybe you should've used "the beep" excuse. I might have thought it was real! Excuse me, can you please open this door?" Oh-Oh. This couldn't be happening. Not now.
"Sure" I heard one of Nick's brothers voice reply, which meant the end. Bye-Bye cruel world! It was good while it lasted. I instantly felt someone sitting on the edge of the bed, softly patting my back whilst I continued shaking. The door slammed open.
"Mi- Um sorry! I didn't know… I mean…." She awkwardly stuttered. It was close. I never thought I would ever say this, but I'm truly happy that I'm sick.
"At least you shoulda phone me. I was worried sick about you" She quickly moved the sheets, letting the sun shine on my face again.
"Woopsies" I apologized. Surprinsingly, she got up as she started walking up to the door. Wow! No fighting? What's wrong with her? She just kept glancing back at me as she apologized. Oh, right! I know where she's going with this.
"Lillian?" I said. I tried to roll over onto my stomach, so I could get up from the bed, but then somehow I kept rolling and ended up falling off it and hitting the floor on my hands and knees. "Whoa." I used the bed to steady myself and stand, then swayed in place for a minute when I let it go. This would be a lot easier if the floor didn't keep moving.
"You okay in there, Millian?" I smiled really big at her.
"Yes, Lillian" I muttered trying to look self-assured. I was a little dizzy though, but I decided to pretend I was fine. I didn't want them to be worried about me and besides, I had to keep my mind off it.
"Um. I'll just go downstairs with my brothers, so I'll see you around, Miley and …Lillian" Nick gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before he began to walk away.
"Oh, that! Just a pet name! My name's actually Lilly. Nice to meet you, Nick" Lilly told the boy who was about to leave the room.
"Nice to meet you too, Lilly" He replied before bumping into Joe, who had a big smile plastered on his face.
"I'm afraid you're not the one going anywhere, Nick. Can I talk to you for a few minutes? The eldest one in the room, Joe yelled.
Nick frowned as he climbed next to his older brother. Lilly and I exchanged glances of confusion, wondering why would he wanna talk to me.
"Okay?" I finally agreed. We walked out of the room, feeling Nick looking directly at me. I turned around to check if I was right and, boy, I sure was. He had a huge creepy smile on his face. He was totally weirding me out.
"Can you tell me what's wrong with Nick?" I said with a fierce voice as we got into Joe's room. I could kind of figure it out, but I prefer to, you know, "check sources".
"You still don't know?" Joe slowly sat on his comfortable bed, timidly inviting me with his hand. What was I supposed to know?
I sighed and Joe smiled at me. "What?"
"Let me put it this way" He abruptly got up and grabbed his guitar, carefully stroking the strings with his fingers. "Got him, got him love, got him love, you got him lovesick. Got him, got him love, got him love, you got him lovesick" He sang to the tune of Emily Osment's Lovesick(Let's just pretend neither the song nor the singer exist)
"Wow. You're good. Anyways, why would he be?" I said sounding stressed. Suddenly, Joe put down his guitar and started laughing out loud.
"Miley, dear. He had an anxiety attack. That's why we had to call Jack. He started having trouble breathing the minute you passed out. Ironic, isn't it?" He bluntly spat out without any hesitation. Wow, now everything makes sense. He kissed me, then that nervous breakdown thing, and those pervy looks he's been giving me all day. Joe was definitely right, but why didn't Nick tell me yet?
I let out a deep sigh. "There's something else, right?" Joe inquired as my heart started beating faster.
"He kissed me, but that Frankie boy discovered us" I glanced at Joe. I made the right decision; I just had to let it out someday. Joe grabbed a seat next to me.
"Oh, that little evil. I'll keep an eye on him. You seem like a nice girl. We can't let Frankie spoil what's been going on between you two lovebirds" He smiled. I tried to smile back. He stood up and stretched.
We sat in an awkward silence for a moment until he broke it once again. "Let's go!" I nodded solemnly, clearly upset at the fact that boy had to appear in the middle of the kiss. I was totally positive that Nick was about to ask me out. So, that's what gonna happen. I don't care if they think I'm stubborn. That boy's gonna ask me out. Not me.
I flew back to Nick's room to find Lilly standing there alone. I gave her a nicely sized hug and we both made our way downstairs awaiting what the rest of the day would bring us. "Miley. Can we talk?" Great. Today's my day. Everyone wants to talk with me. Now Miley is famous too.
"Sure. I guess this is over the fainting before, right?" The young doctor nodded. I finally gave in and let him do his job.
"So, when did your symptoms start?" Jack inquired professionally. He seemed to be a nice man. I guess it was just too early to be jumping into conclusions.
"This morning. I felt sick, but my dad won't believe me and made me eat. He thought I wanted to play truant" I'm a good student, which made it even harder to figure out why he would think I wanted to skip school. I knew that my father was very strict about Hannah interfering with my grades in school. As soon as my grades slipped, it was all about hitting the books and not a glamorous stage. Ah, even if he was my manager, he was still my father. I loved him so very much
"Okay. Thank you, Miley. It's just a 24 h bug. You should be fine by tomorrow" I closed my eyes, and began feeling a sharp pain in my head "Oh. I forgot to mention these headaches" I stated rubbing my eyes. I just felt so drained.
"It should be fine. Tomorrow you'll be free." I liked the way it sounded. He talked to me as if I was a 5-year-old and I liked that. It made me feel a bit better.
"Oh, Miley. Btw, it's contagious" He said before making his way out of the room. Though I could understand, I didn't like it. I didn't like his answer this time; I kissed Nick. This can't be good at all.
