Hey all!

DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of the characters or anything from the Marvel universe. I'm just a fan who fancied writing up what I'd like to happen after Thor: The Dark World, which is where my Fic starts. Right from the end of Movie 2. So I hope you enjoy what you read. #MatureContent...eventually...lol

A soft sigh escaped his lips. Groaning and blinking he opened his eyes, for a moment he was blinded by the white light above him. Turning his face away and looking around once his eyes had settled.

He was alive. Loki couldn't understand it. He should be dead. They were going to leave him to die. His mind was still groggy but he remembered the look on Sif's face as clear as day. Anger. Betrayal. Fury.

Loki tried pushing himself up but it was no use once he realised he was handcuffed. The cuffs on both his wrists connecting to either side of the large metal headboard above him. Typical.

"So you're awake. It's about time" Sif spoke up from across the room, where she sat sharpening her knives. Loki managed to lean up enough to see her, realising he was naked down to the waist. The bed sheet covering him and his leathers.

"Well, I won't deny I'm surprised to be alive. I thought you'd leave me" he asked tugging at the cuffs but he knew they wouldn't break. He'd been handcuffed enough to know that. He took a moment to examine his shoulder where the poisoned arrow pierced him. "I'm healed, how long...?"

"2 days." She spoke, her voice cold and stern as she got up and approached him, blade in her hand. "You have some explaining to do, -Darri-" she spat the name at him as if it was a bad taste in her mouth.

Loki just look up at her and leaned back on the bed relaxing. "I know you wanted me naked but this is rather extreme isn't it Sif?" He smirked at her and shrugged trying to act nonchalant.

"I've spent the past 2 days thinking about turning you into a woman whilst you were unconscious. Do not tempt me anymore" she spoke standing over him, her features dark.

Loki let out a soft sigh and smirked at her, his face masked with coldness. "I never intended for you to find out about me Sif and you were so eager for me as him. I guess with Thor gone to be with his Midgardian woman you'll give yourself to any man." He spoke cruelly to mask his true thoughts and by the hard back hand across the face she gave him for it she was buying it easily.

They always found it easier to believe his lies if it was those they already thought true.

Sif's hand wrapped tightly around his throat and she squeezed. Her anger at him clouding her thoughts but then something clicked inside her head and she let go.

"How do you know of Thor leaving to be with his Lady Jane? Only The All-Father, The Warriors Three and I knew his true intent on returning to Midgard" she sheathed her daggers and stood over him.

Loki simply smiled up at her. "Ah yeah, about that..." A darkness crept upon him as he looked up at her. One flash of green shimmering light later and before her handcuffed to the bed was Odin, The All-Father.

Sif's eyes widened as realisation set upon her. Loki returning to his normal form before her.

"The All-Father, what have you done to him Loki?!" She growled out in frustration, his true deception weighing on her.

"I haven't done anything to him actually. Upon hearing of my death, the grief over the loss of Frigga and the raging battle on Midgard it all became too much for the old Odin. He fell into his Odin Sleep and I simply...took his place. After all..." He narrowed his eyes at her and smirked, "I am the rightful king of Asgard and it isn't as if I didn't offer Thor the throne. I did. He told you himself. I even allowed him to keep Mjolnir. Am I not a gracious king. I have been acting as Odin for months now and have I done anything to make you doubt me? Have we not prospered? Did I not rebuild and make Asgard a stronger kingdom for all the realms?"

For all his words Sif could not argue. He was right. Thor had told her of the choice Odin had given him. He could have been king but with his abdication and now the All-Father in his Odinsleep it now meant that as the third in line it was Loki's place to sit on the throne. It wasn't as it had been before with Thor's exile she could see it in his eyes then. The lies. The deceit. But now...now there where no lies, no treachery. Yes he had hidden his death but it wouldn't have changed anything. Thor would still have left them and Odin still would sleep.

"You can't do this Loki, it isn't right what you have done."

"Why isn't it?! Give me a true reason as to why I cannot rule in my brothers stead?" His eyes narrowed at her and his voice became cold in annoyance.

"You were treacherous and murderous. You attempted to slaughter and entire race and enslave another. Do you really think we would ever trust you to be our king Loki?" Sif spoke, her words calm and true in her heart but another thing weighed on her mind.

"Minor details. Nothing Odin has not done himself and as for the Midgardians I would have been a benevolent ruler to them. They just...didn't know that. Now unchain me Sif" he growled out and tugged at the chains which jingled against the bedframe.

"No Loki. You will remain as you are until I decide what is to be done with you."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. That is so."

Sif spun away from him and walked out of the room, door closing behind her with a thud. It was her chamber. The room King Eitri had provided for her. It was the safest place for him for the moment. The Dwarves had no idea of his existence only that they had a soldier badly wounded on the battlefield and Sif and Volstagg stayed behind to help him heal.

"Perhaps he is telling the truth" a voice spoke beside her and she turned to see her old friend.

"Volstagg you cannot truly believe what Lo-" Sif caught herself and glanced around, the walls in this place having ears was what it was known for. "You can't believe what he has said can you? He betrayed us. He has tried to kill us before. He -will- try again. "

"Perhaps but he has been through much and the loss of his mother will have taken its toll on him. Remember what Thor told us of his last moments. Thor is not stupid Sif, he wasn't being deceived by a cunning traitor. He was seeing his true brother for the first time in a very long time. If all of this was planned, why would he do all that? He has given us no reason to suspect foul play-"

"Maybe he hasn't given you reason." Sif spoke suddenly, her hand tightening around her sword. Contemplating Loki's castration.

"His disguise as Darri...it had us all followed my dear. He never did anything to harm us. He could easily have and yet he cared more about saving your throat than he did his guise. If it wasn't for that, you would be dead right now Sif. So I am thankful for his deceit. Otherwise we'd have lost you." He smiled softly and stepped forwards placing a hand on her shoulder. "Do not be so quick to assume and judge his actions. Things are not as clear as we expect them to always be."
