The falling star they saw was not in fact a star at all. It was a tiny fragment of a most magical item that could travel between worlds. It didn't need to be large for its cargo was quite small. It sparkled and danced sporadically in the sky before dropping into the sea. The blue shard sank quietly to the bottom where it got sucked in by a particularly large oyster.
Perhaps the oyster managed to syphon it out. Perhaps the oyster covered the pointy object in nacre to protect its soft insides. Perhaps one day a magical oyster would appear out of nowhere on some other world. Perhaps someone would find a gorgeous pearl with the power to travel to far off places. Or perhaps it would never be found. Perhaps it would remain encased in a protective pearl under the charge of the oyster.
It didn't matter, really. The shard had completed its task.
Its cargo was not meant to sink. Like a lost bath toy the item floated calmly and patiently on the pristine waters surrounding the Destiny Islands. In a few days it would be found. It would be observed coming into view from quite a distance. As it would caress the sand, it would be recovered by the princess of Radiant Garden. She would admire the treasure and wonder about its origins. Her heart would leap when she saw the symbol on its contents. Then, as fast as her legs could carry her, she would seek out her friends, knowing the item was meant for them.
She would find them musing next to an old tree that produced the most legendary of fruits. They too would recognize the symbol. One would take the letter from its bottle and hold it so each of his friends could read. Read the words from a familiar friend.
Read where they would embark on their next adventure.
