Quickly diminishing thoughts of Eliza from his mind, he removed all the hurt he was feeling from his body because of her. He had to concentrate on finding a way to fix his hybrids so he would finally be able to stand against his father and have his family back. Though none of that would make him truly happy, and somewhere inside of all of his demons he knew this. Eliza was who would make him truly happy as he would no longer be forever alone. He needed her, as bad as that sounded. Love was a vampires greatness weakness, and he was definately not weak. But his love for Eliza had grown to strong for him to let go, he didn't want to be invincible without her by his side. His future plans had always involved her.
While Elena sat crying, Dana began to wobble on her feet for tiredness. The whole hall was silent for a second before two figures burst through the door. One he desperately wanted to see, the other he didn't. An angry expression had already formed on Stefan and Elizas face. But somehow he could see a different emotion in Eliza, in a way she looked scared. Afraid of him. The big bad monster. Immediately though he hid all of his love for Eliza, all the feelings of regret and hurt, and let his demons override him.
" Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to show up! Here to save your damsel mate?" Klaus chuckled with a sly smirk on his face, grabbing Elena from the floor by her arm and dragging her towards Stefan.
" Let her go Klaus!" Eliza ordered sternly, facing Klaus and trying to hold back her fear. However Klaus could still see it in her. After staring at her for a moment, he blocked her out of his thoughts and turned back to Stefans emotionless face.
" Elena means nothing to me anymore. I've came here to beg your forgiveness and pledge my loyalty." Stefan said smoothly, and Klaus could tell he was lying immediately. It was obvious he still loved Elena. His love for Elena was his weakness.
" What about you, love? Have you come for the same thing to?" He asked Eliza sarcastically, still hurt that she had betrayed him. Though there was a part of him that hoped it was true, he knew her better than that. She wanted to protect her family.
" No. I'm here to protect the people I love, just like I told you before." Eliza answered firmly. However there was some part of her that wanted to agree. She had feelings for Klaus, that she couldn't deny. But Elena was her only living family, and Stefan was her one best friend. Nothing would stop her from protecting them if they were in danger. Even if it meant that she could no longer be with Klaus.
" Ah I should have guessed." Klaus nodded sarcastically, looking down towards the floor before turning back to Stefan. " So Elena means nothing to you anymore? So how about Eliza what about her?" Klaus questioned with a curious expression, he wondered whether he would let her get hurt either.
" No. Neither of them, I'm a ripper." Stefan stated, earning a surprised look of hurt from Eliza. Klaus wanted Stefan to be a full ripper, one that was loyal to him just like he had been in the 20's. He missed his wing man. But he could see in Stefans eyes that what he was saying was a lie.
" So you don't love Elena anymore?" Klaus asked, his grip tightening on Elenas arm. Stefan could clearly see that Elena was in pain that Klaus was hurting her, but he tried to keep a smooth calm expression. This only made Klaus more eager, so this time he slapped Elena hard across the face causing her to spin and fall hard. Immediately Stefan reacted with a loud growl, and attacked Klaus with all his power. Though Klaus had already been expecting this, this is what he had wanted. Grabbing Stefan by the neck, Klaus threw him across the hall causing a grunt of pain to escape Stefans mouth.
" Klaus!" Eliza shouted at him from where she was aiding Elena back onto her feet. Ignoring Eliza, Klaus approached Stefan again with the same malicious smirk.
" This love for this girl. It weakens you. Love is a vampires greatest weakness Stefan. If it wasn't for her you'd make the perfect ripper." Klaus mused, as Stefan pulled himself up from the floor again. " It's a shame you've changed since the 20's. Back then you had no care for Eliza and my sister enjoyed the fact you were a ripper. Caring has ruined you!"
" And you don't care? About anything at all Klaus?" Eliza interupted, moving away from Elena and closer towards Klaus. Her face was emotionless, smooth and calm. This time Klaus couldn't ignore Eliza, and he turned to face her, avoiding her eyes.
" Stay out of this Eliza. In fact get out now. You don't need to be here." Klaus growled at her in annoyance. Admitting he didn't care for her would ruin all of his chances of being with her again, but admitting that he did care would ruin his plan for hybrids as she would most likely use it against him. Despite Klaus' order Eliza stayed still.
" You didn't answer my question." Eliza told him. Again there was a moment of silence.
" I said get out!" Klaus shouted menacingly, moving closer to her so there faces were inches apart. Still there eyes didn't mean, and Klaus didn't touch her or hurt her at all. He tried to look scary to her so that she would follow his orders, but Eliza already knew he wouldn't hurt her.
" No." Eliza said, causing Klaus to growl in anger again. His hands clenched into fists and he quickly turned away from Eliza, moving his attention back to Stefan.
" You know what, lets put a timer on this because my patience is running a bit low." Klaus growled, grabbing a control that controlled the basketball board where the timer was. " If your witchy friend doesn't find a solution to my hybrid problem in 20 minutes, Stefan will feed on Elena." The smirk formed again on Klaus' face as horrified expressions appeared on Eliza, Elena and Stefan.
" No." Stefan growled.
" I don't really think you have a choice ripper." Klaus said with a chuckle. Grabbing Stefan by the arm, he compelled him to feed on Elena in 20 minutes.
" Klaus you can't do this." Eliza told him, worry in her eyes.
" And what's stopping me from? You?" He asked with another laugh, sparking more annoyance in Eliza.
" Yes me. When that buzzer rings I will stop Stefan from hurting Elena. That's what is stopping you, so I suggest if you care about me at all then you stop this right now!" Eliza raised her voice this time.
" You actually think that will stop me?" A fake incredulous look formed on Klaus' face, and inside Eliza felt hurt by what he just said. Maybe he had just been using her after all.
" You care about me! You said it yourself! You were in love with me in the 20's! Does that not count for anything at all? Or do I not matter to you anymore? Do my family and friends not matter? Were you just using me like I thought you were until you showed me the memories? Was I stupid enough to believe that Klaus Mikaelson, the big bad monster that everyone believes is dangerous and incapable of love, could actually care?" Tears were beginning to form in Elizas eyes, and for the moment she had forgotten that Elena and Stefan were both watching them. It was as if her and Klaus were in there own little bubble.
For a few moments Klaus and Eliza just stared at each other, both in silence. Klaus was trying to find an answer to what she was asking, but he couldn't seem to find the right words. He didn't want to answer this question right now. He didn't want to admit that he still loved this girl. But he did, and he couldn't deny it. Right now though he had to concerntrate on more important things - the things that were going to keep himself, his family and Eliza safe. It would all be worth it in the end, once he had his hybrids, then Eliza would never come to harm ever again.
" Get out of here. Now. I mean it Eliza." Klaus told her, his tone softer but still as agressive. A single tear fell from Elizas eyes as he said this, and for a second she looked down at the floor.
" You evil, vile monster!" She screamed at him, letting the anger surge through her body. Running over to him she used all of her strength to punch him in the face, then push him to the ground. " You killed your family! Your incapable of love! Your own parents loath you! Every vampire on earth would want you dead if there was a way to kill you!" She continued screaming, throwing another punch at him. " Even me! The woman stupid enough to see the good in you, the one stupid enough to believe you could actually care! Now all I see is demons, in a monster that is all alone. With nobody in the world who actually cares anymore." Concluding her burst of anger, she threw him into the wall at the opposite side of the gym, gripping his neck with her hands. All the way through Klaus took the punches she gave him, he took it all as some part of him was ashamed that he was this person that she was describing. Most of it angered him, how dare she even stand up against him.
" Your friends have 15 minutes left to save you and Elena Stefan. I suggest someone warns them." Klaus suggested, before pulling Elizas hand away from his neck and quickly wrapping his arm securely round her waist. After doing this he sprinted out the door to an empty corridor at the opposite side of the school with Eliza still in his arms.
" Get off me." She growled, pushing him away from her as he came to a stop.
" We need to talk." Klaus told her, his expression full of anger but his eyes filled with pain.
" We have nothing to talk about. We're over Klaus. I don't know what we were before but we're over. You've shown me your good side. But you can't threaten my friends and family and expect me to be ok with it. You've shown me you don't care, and answering your question earlier, actually you were in my list of people to protect. If you kill Elena or Stefan or any of there friends, they will find a way to kill you, and before I didn't want that to happen. But now, you deserve every bit of it." Eliza said, her voice calmer than before. But these words were like daggers been thrown at him to Klaus, just like what she had said before.
" And you believe that my hyrbids are for myself only?" Klaus growled in frustration. " I need them to protect myself, my family and you! Most important of all you! I don't stand a chance against the one person who is out to get me, do you not understand that? He will use you against me! He will kill you! I temporarily killed my siblings to protect them, so they can't make any stupid mistakes and get themselves killed! I'm responsible for theirs and your danger, so I'm fixing it. Nothing will stop me. So if you want to go and stop Stefan from trying to hurt Elena, then go ahead!" Elizas expression changed for only the slightest moment, Klaus believed there was a flicker of hope in her eyes. For a moment Eliza didn't move, debating whether to say anything else. " Go!" Klaus raised his voice this time, and with a small sigh Eliza ran off quickly ready to protect her only family.
There was only a few minutes left on the timer. Eliza, Stefan and Elena were alone in the gym. Stefan was panicking, knowing he wouldn't be able to stop once he took one drop of blood from Elena. If he managed to bite her, she would be dead. This too was bothering Elena, though she was trying to hide the fear of Stefan killing her. She believed there was hope that he could stop himself, she wanted him to believe that too. However Eliza had other things on her mind, she already knew she had no need t0 worry about Elena as Eliza was strong enough to keep Stefan away. It was Klaus who was on her mind. Unanswered questions were swimming in her mind, annoying her greatly. However much she tried to push them back, they continued to return.
" Carolines dad!" Elena exclaimed, breaking the silence they had all been sat in for just under ten minutes. " He resisted compulsion, maybe you can do that too Stefan!" Eliza held back from rolling her eyes at Elenas pitiful attempt to come up with a solution.
" No! Once that buzzer goes off I will have to bite you, and once I take one drop of your blood you are dead Elena!" Stefan shouted angrily, though his anger wasn't aimed at Elena but more at Klaus and himself. " So you need to run Elena!"
" No. You can fight it Stefan you can't ket him win!"
" What because I love you?"
" Yes because you love me! Because after everything we've been through you owe me this!" Tears were beginning to form in Elenas eyes as the timer came closer to zero.
" Elena you need to run. I can only hold back Stefan for a short time, but long enough for you to escape. Klaus' compulsion is too strong for Stefan to stand against. It's impossible." Eliza ordered sternly, not wanting Elena to ruin Elizas plan to keep her safe.
" No. I won't run he can't fight it!" Elena shouted this time, tears streaming from her eyes. Silence fell for only a moment, before the timer struck zero and the buzzer echoed throughout the whole room. Stefans body shuddered in pain as he stayed still for a moment, that was before he jumped to attack Elena. However Eliza quickly got in his way, and pushed him to the ground using the same ammount of strength she had used on Klaus earlier.
" Elena run!" I shouted more fiercly this time, pushing Stefan back down as he tried to attack her again. This time Elena didn't disobey, and without hesitation she sprinted through the double doors leading back into the hallway. For the third time, Eliza shoved Stefan to the ground again. " Stop Stefan. You can control this. You love Elena."
" Get out of the way Eliza otherwise you're going to get hurt." Stefan growled at her warningly before hurrying after Elena. Eliza again was prepared, and blocked the doorway so that Stefan couldn't get through. His next action surprised her however, it was not what she had been expecting Stefan to do at all. Klaus hadn't compelled him to hurt Eliza, meaning he was doing this out of his own free will. Plunging his hand into Elizas chest Stefan grabbed her heart causing Eliza to scream out in pain.
" Stefan!" She screamed. " W-What are you d-doing?" Gasping for breath, she tried to ignore the large amount of pain now running through her body.
" I'm sorry. I can't let you get hurt either." Stefan whispered apologetically to her, pulling his hand out from her chest leaving her heart intact. Instead he grabbed her neck and broke it. Immediately Eliza fell unconcious on the floor, and Stefan used all of his strength to fight going after Elena. At least now Eliza wouldn't get hurt any longer trying to save Elena.
