Sakaki

Everyone kept talking away in the courtyard, but somehow Sakaki couldn't think. He couldn't bring to terms in his head about what had just taken place. Slowly he placed a heavy foot onto the porch. He placed a hand onto the column next to him to help him hoist the rest of himself onto the porch. Then he walked towards the hole in the door that lead into the room they were all chatting away so carelessly not an hour or two ago.

"What happened? How did he manage to sneak through our defenses? I don't remember sensing anyone coming anywhere near the inside of the dojo," Sakaki whispered. He stopped in front of the opening and stared into the room and rested his curled up fist onto the edge of the hole. His body began to tremble. "What could we have missed?" He felt a hand rest on his left shoulder.

"Maybe we didn't miss anything. There are masters in this world who are able to hide their killing intent to the point where not even someone like the elder can notice them until it's almost too late," Akisame said. Sakaki closed his eyes and punched the edge that his fist was resting against.

"Damn it! So someone that powerful is after those three?" Sakaki muttered.

"It appears so. This just means that we must be more prepared for a fight than we have been in a long time," Elder said. Sakaki and Akisame turned towards him. "Come, let us all go into the dojo. We have important matters to discuss." Everyone agreed and walked into a room different than the one they were previously in. When they arrived they all sat down in a circle.

"Why don't we begin this meeting by discussing what we already know?" Akisame suggested. Elder nodded.

"Good idea. What we do know is that there are people who are after Haley and Ashley. We know that Ashley was stalked by a violent man about ten years ago," Elder started.

"Basically she was stalked by a pedophile?" Takeda asked.

"Basically," Kensei said, his hands hidden in his sleeves, arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Is that all we know about Ashley?" Akisame asked.

"Unfortunately yes. That is all Allie told us before she got kidnapped," Elder said.

"What about Haley? What do we know of her?" Akisame asked.

"That Ashley and Allie found her three years ago. She has no memory of who she was before they met her and for some reason she had a Taser on her when they met her. The only clue they had at the time was that an old friend had given it to her. Also that her parents are dead, she was kidnapped when she was younger shortly after her parents died, and that she was found with several scars and marks on her body," Sakaki said. Everyone stared at him and he began to blush.

"Wha-what?" he muttered.

"I'm impressed that you remember all that Sakaki," Akisame said. Sakaki turned and glared at him with a fist raised.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he yelled. Everyone laughed.

"Calm down Shio. It's just that it's remarkable that you care so much about Haley!" Elder laughed. Sakaki blushed insanely and withdrew into himself.

"I, I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered.

"Anyways, what Sakaki stated is basically all we truly know about Haley," Akisame got serious.

"Which isn't much," Kensei said. Everyone agreed and went silent. Elder sighed.

"Well, it's getting rather late. Kenichi and Miu, why don't you two walk Takeda and Nijima home?" Elder said.

"Huh? But why?" Kenichi asked. "Can't they walk themselves home?"

"Don't be stupid. After what happened today it's too dangerous for any of you to walk around at night by yourselves," Sakaki said glaring slightly. Kenichi shrunk back into himself and muttered that he understood. Kenichi, Miu, Takeda, and Nijima all stood up and began to walk out the door. Apachai began to follow them.

"Where are you going Apachai?" Sakaki asked.

"Apa? Who me? I was just going to make sure no bad masters run into them on the way there and back here. If they did then they wouldn't stand a single chance against a master. So Apachai will go with them in case that happens. Apa," Apachai explained. Sakaki blinked twice.

"Oh, yeah you got a point. I guess I'll come with as well. No point in sitting still. Besides, I might be able to think better if I'm walking," Sakaki said standing up. Elder nodded.

"Very well. We'll see you four in a bit," Elder said. All six of them waved goodbye and headed out of the dojo.

They all walked out of the dojo and started walking in a general direction.

"So which of you is going home first?" Sakaki asked.

"Well since I live the closest to this area I think I should go first," Nijima said. They all agreed and followed him in the direction of his house.

"Hey, do you guys think they'll be alright?" the blue haired boxing punk asked. Sakaki stared straight up at the dark, starless sky. He began to feel it sink in that the girls might be hurt. That Haley might be hurt.

"I'm sure they're fine, right master Sakaki?" Kenichi said looking over his shoulder at Sakaki. However Sakaki wasn't paying attention to them. He was thinking about facts that just made him feel more scared for Haley. Like how she had only begun her training with him so she didn't know a lot of things about Karate yet. All Sakaki had done so far was begin her strength training. He hadn't even taught her any specific moves. Sure she could throw a punch at a random guy now, shocking him for just long enough for her to get away. But that wouldn't be enough to get away from the kind of masters that took her.

Where could she possibly be? Think Sakaki, how can you use what you already know about her to figure out where she could have been taken? Sakaki thought.

A few minutes later they passed a local park.

"Apa," Apachai said, suddenly stopping. He sniffed the air.

"What's up Apachai?" Sakaki asked.

"Apa? Oh it is nothing. Apachai will be right back!" Apachai said running off into the park. "Apachai will catch up with you later!" Sakaki sighed.

"Should we stay and wait or continue walking?" Kenichi asked him. Sakaki continued staring in the direction Apachai had run off in.

"We should go, it's a little creepy here," Nijima said frantically looking around him. Sakaki hesitated but agreed with the kid.

"Apachai's a big guy who can take care of himself if something happens. Besides with that nose of his I don't think we could lose him if we tried," Sakaki said.

"Yeah, okay. That makes sense," Kenichi said. They continued to walk on and eventually Nijima got home and they were just saying goodbye to the blue haired boxer when a voice echoed in Sakaki's head.

"Oh? And what were you planning on doing with my Haley here?" His own voice said.

"We were gonna take her back to the factory! She has some unfinished business there!" a different yet familiar voice said.

Sakaki stopped dead in his tracks and smacked his own forehead.

"How could I have forgotten that?" he muttered.

"Uh, Master Sakaki?" Kenichi asked. "Is everything alright?"

"I just remembered something from a day or so ago that may be able to help us find Haley," Sakaki said.

"What about Ashley?" he asked.

"I'm guessing that when we find Allie and Haley, they'll be able to help us find Ashley," Sakaki explained. Kenichi nodded.

"Okay, so what do you remember?" Kenichi asked, but Sakaki just shook his head.

"We've got to get back to the dojo right away," Sakaki said. He started running and Kenichi struggled to keep up.

After a bit of running they were forced to stop when they heard a voice.

"Apa!" Apachai yelled as he landed in front of them. However he wasn't alone. In his arms he was carrying someone that made Sakaki tell him to go ahead of them to the dojo.

"Was that who I think it was?" Kenichi asked. Sakaki nodded.

"Yeah, it was Allie. And she wasn't looking too good. Looks like she's on the brink of death if I were to judge it," Sakaki said. They had to hurry. Allie being in that state wasn't looking too good for the other girls.
