New Beginning, New End
A holiday of a lifetime. That's what any typical family dreams of; to escape their worries and fears and jet off to a warm, tranquil place where they can relax but still enjoy themselves as much as possible. Saying that Eliza and Klaus' trip around Europe was a holiday of a lifetime, would be an understatement. It was much, much more than that. As well as losing all their fears and having a relaxing holiday, they finally felt free - free from vampire enemies, family troubles and mystic falls trouble. Every ounce of their sadness just seemed to melt away, just like that. True happiness is something they'd seemed to lack over the time they'd somehow managed to find their way back to each other. Now here it was, here they had it. They'd waited long enough...
" Oh come on, what's been your favourite some far? There must be somewhere!" Eliza exclaimed with a sarcastic eye roll while taking another sip of the expensive wine Klaus had bought for them both. They were currently seated on the 28th floor of the Hilton on Mayfair street in London, a top class restaurant in which Klaus had made sure to get the perfect onlooking view of the landscape of London. The two of them were seated in a much more secluded place than the rest, and the candle lights and win completed the romantic setting Klaus was looking for. Now that Eliza was human, the food she ate was much more enjoyable and she found herself cherishing every bit of the food this place had to offer.
" All of them, you made them all perfect," Klaus said, grinning at her annoyance to this.
" Just choose one place. One place out of Europe, how is it such a hard question?" Klaus didn't speak for a moment and just gazed at her.
" If it's so easy love, then which would you choose?" Klaus asked. Instantly Eliza stopped herself from speaking and thought for a moment. However, it wasn't long before she'd come up with an answer.
" Paris." Seeing an irritated look form on Klaus' face, because of her lack of detail, caused a smirk to grow on Eliza's face.
" And why is that sweetheart?" Klaus questioned with a knowing look in his eyes. The both of them knew precisely why it was Eliza's favourite place, but Eliza refused to admit it.
" The shopping was amazing," Klaus laughed at her answer and Eliza tried hard to keep a straight face, but after a while she gave up and laughed with him.
" That's the worst lie you've ever told, love." Klaus said, his grin widening. " It can't be because I took you out at the dead of night, where it was a cloudless sky and only the moonlight illuminated it, and took you to the Eiffel Tower, jumped up to the very top with you in my arms and handed you a promise ring while speaking the most heartfelt speech I've ever said,"
" That never even made it to my list of reasons," Eliza joked, shaking her head in denial.
" So your complaints were true? The ones you so cheerfully stated while I walked idly by your side, preparing to pour my heart out to the woman I love," Eliza laughed in embarrassment again and looked down towards the table.
" Just because I said before we arrived there that I didn't want to go see the Eiffel tower because it would be filled with annoying tourists who would ruin the moment and that it was too cold to be outside and we should have been in bed doing... other things doesn't change the fact that, that moment was special. You know what you said meant everything to me Niklaus," Eliza said.
" I'm glad sweetheart. Considering you gave me no time to prepare before hand what I was going to say because of your annoying twittering complaints, I'm proud of myself for winning you over so easily with a careful choice of words," If Eliza had been sat next to Klaus rather than opposite then she would have playfully slapped him.
" You meant every word!" Eliza retorted. " Are you meaning to say, Niklaus Mikaelson, that you lied to me?" Klaus paused for only a moment, making sure his eyes were locked with Eliza's before speaking. He didn't want to risk her not believing him.
" I meant every word, my dearest Eliza." Klaus stated in a soft tone, melting Eliza's pure and innocent heart with love. A grin spread across Eliza's face and her cheeks flushed again from slight embarrassment.
" I love you." Those three words that she spoke had so much power over Klaus that it was practically unimaginable.
" I love you too, sweetheart," Klaus said. " Je t'aime mon chéri. Vous êtes la plus belle fille du monde et je suis un homme chanceux de vous avoir,"
" You speak French? How come I didn't know this in Paris?" Eliza asked.
" I'm guessing you don't speak French?"
" French use to be on my list of languages to learn, but I've never been the smartest. I learnt Latin, German and Italian and that's as far as I got,"
" Italian?" Klaus asked with a questionable frown.
" Stefan taught me, his family originate from Italy, hence the name Salvatore which translates to 'Saviour' in English,"
" Ah, that I already knew. So you understood nothing of what I just said too you?" Klaus asked.
" Well I know 'Je' means I, but that's as far as I got," Klaus rolled his eyes at this and chuckled.
" Well so to convince you that I wasn't babbling about myself in French like a vain fool, I might as well inform you of the translation. I said, ' I love you my darling. You are the most beautiful girl in the world and I am a lucky man to have you,"
" How sweet," Eliza replied, a hint of a blush forming on her cheeks. " So exactly how many beautiful French women did you say that too before I came about?" Klaus mouth feel a gape at her question in disbelief at what she just said and Eliza giggled mischeviously.
" Only you have had the utter joy of hearing a man who's classed as the most evil monster in the world project his love,"" Wow, I feel special,"" That's because you are, love." Silence filled the air for another few moments as they both gazed at each other lovingly, not wanting to ever leave that moment and head back to the reality where evil clouded every corner.
" I don't want to go back tomorrow... can't things just stay like this forever?" Eliza said and Klaus could see the sincerity of this in her eyes. The past few weeks had been filled with nothing but happiness, which is what neither of them had experienced since the 1920's. It was amazing to feel those same feelings again; to know nothing was going to get in the way or split them apart.
" If you want to stay sweetheart, then all we have to do is extend our booking in the Ritz," Eliza chuckled and shook her head at this, taking a larger sip of wine this time. The fact that Eliza had consumed more alcohol than she usually did in this dinner just proved to Klaus how tormented and worried over this she actually was. Eliza had never had such a great taste for alcohol, only in her times of great need for comfort. This could either be an incredibly good or bad thing depending on the situation.
" If only. We can't hide forever Nik... Plus we've already began our new beginning, so lets continue it by moving to New Orleans... Anyway, don't you miss your family? Because I do." Eliza said and Klaus looked down at the table.
" I don't want to force you to do anything you don't want to do. To answer your question, yes I do. But you matter more to me than them," A deep frown formed on Eliza's face.
" No. Always and Forever, Nik, that's what you promised to them. You should hold yourself to that, otherwise you might find yourself without them again," " That's before my family took you away from me and I thought I'd lost you forever," Klaus said, his tone lowering in slight anger.
" You can't blame the whole of your family for what Finn and Esther did. You can trust them, Nik. I do,"
" But your human now. You are fragile, Eliza, whether you believe it or not. Anyone could kill you within seconds if they wanted to because you have no way to fight back. How long before another family member turns on you because of me?! I can only protect you so much, and they will no doubt be able to outsmart me despite my efforts. They've done it before," The frantic look in Klaus' eyes was growing and it worried and upset Eliza to see this again. Things were definitely going back to normal.
" Then I'll learn how to fight, you and Elijah can teach me. I learn how to protect myself," Eliza stated, with a small sigh of regret. Fighting was something she'd alays hated, but she was getting nowhere with convincing Klaus that she could look after herself. If learning how to fight is what it would take for her to convince him then she would do it.
" That won't solve any of our problems. You're not strong enough to fight off powerful ones unless you're one yourself, even then you'd be younger than most meaning it would still be easy for them to overpower you... You need my strength," Eliza's frown deepened. What on earth was he trying to suggest?
" If you're suggesting that I become a hybrid then I'm pretty sure that's impossible and I want to be human," Eliza stated.
" I know and respect that, sweetheart. And yes it is impossible for you to become my species, however it is not impossible for you to have my strength. In fact you already have it," Klaus spoke in a quieter voice this time, not quite as confident. It was as if he was bracing himself for Eliza's reaction. Right now, Eliza was in questionable shock." What are you talking about?" Eliza questioned in a confused tone. What had he done now? " In Paris, while you were busy shopping... I tracked down a witch that I met a few decades ago, and asked her for help. I told her I wanted to give someone acess to my own strength while staying human... She informed me that she could spell an item to link itself to my strength so that the wearer of the item could use my strength as they pleased. While the person used it, I would be weakened but not fully incapable of fighting as well..." Klaus explained cautiously while Eliza's eyes widened in even more shock.
" Are you telling me that I'm currently wearing an item that is linked to your strength so I can use it as I please?" Eliza asked, her voice laced with bits of annoyance.
" Yes..." Klaus said, looking down at the table and waiting for her to realise. It took a few moments, but after a while Eliza finally realised which item of clothing it was that she was wearing. Her mouth opened, horrified.
" My ring!? You spelled our promise ring!? You tricked me into wearing it! Did you only say all of those things so I would accept and wear it!?" Eliza said, her voice raised in anger. Though she wasn't incredibly angry with him, just annoyed - annoyed at the fact that he hadn't just told her. Why couldn't he just fully trust her for once? " Why didn't you just tell me?" She questioned in a more defeated tone, letting out all of her emotions with a deep sigh of disappointment.
" I didn't think you'd want it, and I couldn't see any other way to keep you safe. I meant everything I said, Eliza. It's just this was an additional reason to give it to you as well as the one I told you," Klaus answered.
" That is the last time you lie to me, Niklaus Mikaelson... I'm not stupid enough to disagree to this. If me wearing this thing gives you comfort then I'll do it. Thank you for finding an alternative to turning me back into a vampire," Eliza said, shaking her head in a disapproving way.
" You're not mad at me, sweetheart?" Klaus asked with a questionable frown.
" Of course I'm not... I just can't understand why you didn't tell me in the first place..."
" It would have been less romantic if I'd have told you that as well, love,"
" You could have at least told me afterwards,"
" Fine. I admit I was wrong for not telling you earlier. Happy now sweetheart?" Klaus asked, a smirk growing on his face.
" Extremelly," Eliza responded. " Now I think you should get the check. It's time for us to continue our new beginning, and move to our new home..."
It was strange coming back to a previous home and seeing all of the beautiful furniture packed away into boxes ready to be loaded into the moving van. It was like their elegant home had never existed and instead it had all be a strange dream. When Klaus and Eliza arrived back home, they didn't bother unpacking and instead added to their suitcases. Eliza was dominant to not leave any of her clothing behind, even if it meant the zip on her suitcase broke when she tried to close it. Vampire speed helped a lot with packing, so Eliza just stayed out of the way a lot during packing time. Finally, after an hour or so, everything was done that hadn't been done while Klaus and Eliza had been away.
" We're in New Orleans are we planning to move to?" Rebekah asked, with streaks of hope laced in her eyes. Nobody missed their old home in New Orleans more than Rebekah; their she had found true love and they had all felt like a family their for the first time in centuries. Rebekah missed that greatly.
" Near the French Quarter I think... In the woods close by to the town its in, is where I think my grandchildren are... so yeah." Eliza finished awkwardly.
" Are they werewolves? Have you met them before?" Elijah asked, a worried frown forming on his face. He entered the room after hearing Rebekah's questioning, curious to learn more about their moving. Klaus stood, as usual, closely by Eliza's size while Rebekah sat down on one of the many boxes clouded around the living room. Like always, Kol was nowhere in sight. It was practically impossible to keep up with what Kol was doing, after being trapped in a box for a century he was always up to something.
" Yeah they are werewolves, and no. The only member of my family that I've properly met is Elena..." Eliza answered. Instantly a worried frown of protest formed on Klaus' face and he touched her shoulder carefully so that she turned to him. Seeing his expression caused Eliza to worry slightly.
" I'm coming with you when you go to find them, love. A human walking into the home of a clan of werewolves is dangerous, therefore you are not going on your own," Klaus stated in a low tone.
" Dangerous? They're my family. Plus isn't a more dangerous if a hybrid, who is known to have killed werewolves, walks into the home of a clan of werewolves?" Eliza questioned, her eyebrows raised in defiance. Rolling his eyes, Klaus brushed a hand over her cheek as if trying to coax her into giving in.
" I can look after myself, sweetheart. At least I'd be there to protect you if anything went wrong," Klaus said and Eliza sighed deeply, looking away from him.
" Let's just decide when we get there... We haven't even arrived yet and we're already debating over things we don't even know." Eliza said. " Anyway, weren't you and Elijah planning on giving me my first fighting lesson today?"
" Fighting lessons?" Rebekah questioned with a smirk.
" Nik convinced me into it," Eliza replied, shrugging her shoulders in a bored manner.
" What's life without fighting?" A smirk grew on Klaus' lips. " Are you sure you're ready sweetheart?"
" Of course I'm ready... I wouldn't have mentioned it if I was-" Eliza began to speak but was soon interrupted as she was pinned against the wall by her shoulders. Letting out a small grunt of pain, Eliza glared at Elijah who had attacked from behind right when she was least expecting it.
" I thought you were ready!" Klaus exclaimed, chuckling at the sight of Eliza's annoyed expression. " You could have at least given me chance to prepare myself," Eliza grumbled while glaring at both Elijah and Klaus. Oddly, Elijah seemed a little more sympathetic than Klaus about the situation, and touched the part of her shoulder which he had slammed against the wall. At his touch, Eliza winced from pain and a frown appeared on Elijah's face.
" Lesson 1: a vampire will always attack when you least expect it," Klaus said.
" Can't you see that you've hurt her already Nik?" Rebekah questioned and, at this, Klaus stopped instantly and marched up towards her.
" Here." Klaus forced his wrist to her mouth and she swallowed his blood with a frown at his sudden harshness. Was this how he usually treated everyone else? " Next time be more prepared,"
" Fine. But at least teach me what to do before throwing me into the deep end next time," Bot Rebekah and Elijah could feel the rising tension between the two. " If I don't throw you into the deep end then you'll never learn, love," Klaus retorted. " Now. Elijah is going to try and bite you, this time I want you to use the strength you have to push him away. Defend your neck as much as possible. Push him away by his neck and shoulders in order to keep his teeth away from you," Klaus instructed firmly. Feeling more prepared this time, Eliza braced her self, trying to mentally heighten her senses so she could react quickly enough to push away danger.
Everything was silent for a moment as Elijah disappeared. The only thing fully audible in the room was Eliza's heavy breathing which came with the anticipation. However, in seconds Eliza felt the familiar hands grab her shoulders. Reacting quickly, she turned towards the danger and attempted to grab Elijah's shoulders but failed instantly as Elijah pretended to bite into her.
" Dead." Klaus announced. Instantly, Elijah moved away from her and his now troubled expression didn't leave his face.
" Let me go again."
" Once you're dead, sweetheart, there's no going back," Klaus stated darkly.
" I know, which means I need more practise," Eliza snapped this time, swinging her arms back and forth in preparation. " Go again Elijah."
" Maybe this time you, Niklaus, should take my place instead," Elijah said, trying to hide the fact that he wasn't at all enjoying attacking Eliza. It was hard enough watching someone else try and kill her, never mind having to fake do it himself. Fighting with someone meant searching for their weaknesses, and analysing Eliza in that way displeased him a lot. It was obvious to Elijah that Klaus knew this, meaning that Klaus was using this to punish Elijah for is new found feelings for Eliza - it was his way of showing who Eliza 'belonged' to.
" No." Klaus stated immediately, his voice lowering in anger. " No offense, brother. But Eliza will never face anyone as strong as me since not one vampire or hybrid on his earth is. The strongest vampire she will ever have to face can only be as strong as you. Let's try and keep this as realistic as possible, shall we?" His anger was quickly covered by intelligence, and Elijah sighed deeply in defeat, before running off into darkness again, preparing himself mentally to fight his love again.
It took a few more attempts until Eliza finally managed to push Elijah away from her. The feeling of having Klaus' power was extremely strange for her, and after managing to throw Elijah into the wall at the opposite side of the room, proved that she didn't yet know how to control this new strength. Upon seeing that Elijah was actually slightly hurt from her sudden attack, Eliza continually apologised. This annoyed Klaus.
" Enough." He said, interrupting the sickly sweet moment between the two. " Now that you've finally managed that, it's time to do some strength drills meaning you'll be doing press ups, weights and practising how to punch properly," Rolling her eyes at him, Eliza quickly headed other to him, a happy skip in each of her steps. " Oh lighten up, Nik. I did it! Aren't you at least proud of me?" Eliza questioned, wrapping both of her arms around his neck and pressing her body against is. t took a few moments, but a smile slowly spread itself across Klaus' face. " I'm proud of you, sweetheart," Klaus admitted, placing a short but sweet kiss on her lips. " Now back to work, I want 40 push ups done." Again, Eliza rolled her eyes but quickly obeyed by dropping herself to the floor, around a meter away from Klaus, and doing push ups. Considering that Eliza had never really properly exercised before, it came as a shock to her when she discovered that she was able to do one quite easily. Mostly this was probably down to the fact that she could feel Klaus' strength running through her, but still she was proud of herself.
" Ah, it's nice to see our lovely little family together one last time, isn't a wonderful? I couldn't imagine ever ruining such a happy family like this in my life, I don't know why anyone would to be honest,"
Suddenly Kol entered the room with a dark, angry expression on his face, his voice dripping with sarcasm. At his words, Eliza instantly stopped her exercises and stood up from the floor, slowly edging her way over towards Klaus. Kol being angry was never a good thing and, even though she had a small chance of being able to protect herself, Klaus offered the most protection. The whole family could sense Kol's anger, meaning that Elijah too slowly made his way over to the couple, Rebekah looked up from her book with a worried expression and Klaus lightly pushed Eliza behind him protectively. Everyone was too occupied by Kol's anger to fully comprehend that there was a slim, brunette girl stood behind him, blocked from view.
" Whatever is wrong, brother, I suggest you take your problems elsewhere," Elijah warned in an authorative tone, moving slightly closer towards Kol threateningly while too attempting to block Eliza from his view. Only chuckling, Kol rolled his eyes at his brother.
" Oh don't worry, brothers. I'm not here to hurt our precious girl. Nik has already done that enough on his own, she just doesn't know about it yet because our sick, bastard of a brother has kept it all a secret," Kol growled. After hearing this, Klaus tensed and glared at Kol in confusion, not quite understanding what he was talking about. Elijah too seemed confused by this and frowned, while worry flooded through Eliza. What had he done now? Who had he killed or injured without telling her?
" Look, whoever it is Nik has killed or injured, I'm sure there was a reason. Unless he's hurt Elena or Stefan, then I extremely doubt I'll be as angry as you're implying," Eliza stated in a soft, calm voice, stepping out of the protection of Klaus and Elijah, facing Kol herself. A flicker of an emotion passed through Kol's expression, and Eliza could have sworn that it was sympathy.
" It's heart-warming darling how you immediately suspect that he's hurt someone else... when I was actually meaing he's hurt you," Kol said, but this time his voice wasn't as angry and instead had a soft tone to it. Eliza tilted her head to the side in confusion.
" Whatever it is you are trying to do, Kol. I suggest you give this up before I rip your heart from your chest," Klaus threatened menacingly. Despite Kol's mysterious accusations, Klaus didn't fully understand what Kol was referring to and he was, instead, more curious about the woman who stood silently behind him.
" Doesn't your one true love deserve to know Nik? Doesn't she deserve to know that you had your own little one night stand a few weeks ago without telling her?" As soon as those words escaped Kol's lips, the whole room fell into an echoing silence and only the quickened heartbeat of Eliza could properly be heard. For a few moments, everyone stayed in their shocked state. Instantly, Klaus knew what Kol was referring to and began to mentally prepared himself to explain his pathetic reasoning's and beg for forgiveness. Anger was beginning to build in Elijah, as he could tell by Klaus' reaction that this was true. However, Eliza herself couldn't quite understand what was happening.
" W-What?" She paused, attempting to gulp back the large lump forming in her throat. Kol's lying. Klaus would never commit adultery. Never. Eliza hurriedly tried to convince herself. But she couldn't help but allow the powerful, anguish emotions flood her. Why would Kol be lying? " Please explain what is going on, Kol." Eliza asked in a soft, almost defeated tone. Both Elijah and Klaus were tempted to comfort her as they heard the desperation and sadness clearly in her voice, but both of them held it back.
" Everyone meet Hayley," Kol said, glaring at Klaus hatefully. The girl behind Kol turned out to be strikingly beautiful, she had the defined figure of a model and pointed, sharp facial features that suited her perfectly. A timid, confused and sympathetic expression filled this girl named Hayley's expression, but she still managed glare at Klaus, projecting the same amount of hatred for him as Kol did. " The beautiful girl that Nik here, decided to seduce in to bed a few weeks ago." The lump in Eliza's throat suddenly grew and tears began to form around Eliza's eyes, her whole body felt numb with shock and she struggled to keep herself steady on her feet. It was taking a lot of strength to not believe Kol's words, but her thick wall of disbelief was beginning to crumble as she realised that Klaus' immediate protests never came.
" What... are you doing back here?" Klaus questioned in a low tone, his voice slightly cracking with pain. Even though he couldn't see Eliza's reaction yet, he could sense that it was worse than he could ever imagine. " You were supposed to be leaving town." Before Hayley even had a chance to reply, Eliza spun around on her feet to face Klaus, her body shaking violently and small tears swimming down her cheeks.
" I-It's t-true!?" Eliza asked, her voice cracking at the seams. She only barely managed to get her words out. Still, Elijah stayed silent and rooted to the floor, clenching his hands into fists to refrain himself from attacking Klaus.
" I'm sorry..." Klaus whispered after a few moments of silence, not truly knowing what to say. Regret and pain had already overtaken his body as he saw Eliza's agonised expression. He tried holding his own tears back, but it wasn't long before they escaped their cage and began, one by one, running swiftly down his cheeks. " Let me explain..."
" W-What the fuck is their to explain!?" Eliza screamed, letting out all of the powerful emotions she felt. She was never one to swear, as when she was originally human it was classed as a disrespectful thing to do. However, right now she couldn't contain it; she was desperate to let out all these emotions to get rid of the pain that was tearing it's way through her body. " You cheated Klaus!" Her strong voice cracked, and changed to a more defeated tone. " You... You slept with someone else. You've told me countless times that you love me... and this is how you prove it to me!"
" I do love you, sweetheart... just let me explain!" Anger began to thunder through Eliza's body.
" Don't you dare say those words to me ever again! Don't you dare call me sweetheart!" Eliza screamed, floods and floods of tears streaming down her face, staining her neat mascara. " You are just a heartless monster like everyone says you are! How I ever believed you... trusted you... LOVED YOU... is impossible for me to believe! I hate you Niklaus Mikaelson! You should have been banished away to hell a long time ago!" These words ripped Klaus' heart to shreds, piece by piece - each word leaving its mark in her body.
" It was after I killed Mikael!" Klaus shouted in a burst of pain. Instantly, he tried to calm his voice down as a frown appeared on Eliza's face. " It happened after I thought you didn't love me. I thought that it was true, that Mikael had compelled you to love me and that you never truly had. I was in pain! I needed a way to try and get over you! I would have killed her if it wasn't for the fact that she ran the next morning before I had chance," Again, silence fell as Eliza gradually took in the new news. Quickly, Eliza moved her hand to cover her mouth as she attempted to choke back a cry of pain, but se failed and it sounded around the room like thunder rumbling through the air. Klaus physically flinched at the sound of it and, again, Elijah had to hold himself back from attempting to comfort her.
" You knew... You knew how much pain and torture I went through trying to protect you from Mikael... you heard down the fucking phone! And that is how you repay me for almost dying? Sleeping with the first girl you set your sights on and then never telling me about it, even after you discovered that I loved you?!" Eliza said, her voice shaky and full of disbelief and pain. She only just seemed to be holding herself together, her whole body wasn't far from crippling and her face showed this greatly. " I went through hours of torture to defend you against Mikael! I told him you weren't truly a monster, and that it was his fault you are who you are! But now I know the truth! You've done this to yourself Klaus... You monster... you fucking bastard!" The word 'bastard' hurt Klaus immensely. In this day and age, it was merely a semi harsh insult. But to him, it was the worst insult possible as this is what Mikael had referred to him as for the past thousand years. A bastard child.
" Eliza, please... You don't know how sorry I am and how much I regret my actions. It was all a mistake, you are the only person I've every truly cared about... I've hurt my siblings constantly throughout my existence, I hurt people. I don't want to be like this! I never meant to hurt you. I would die before ever trying to hurt you... please, I didn't mean it... I will change. Please, I promise. I will change for you... I'll be the good person you've always wanted me to be..." The desperation in Klaus' voice was audible and Eliza felt a slight pang of sympathy and belief in him. Would he really change for me? It's obvious he does love me... Eliza thought to herself, but then she immediately thought of the idea of Klaus sleeping with someone else, and the pain deepened itself. No. He cheated on me. He gave up on me even though I never gave up on him.
" No... No." Eliza said, shaking her head as her hands clenched tightly into fists. " You gave up on me the second you slept with someone else. I never gave up on you! I've lost and given up so much for you! I practically died because of you!" Eliza stated, her voice now sounding lost and powerless. It seemed as if she was speaking more to herself than anyone else, but her words still hurt Klaus. " I need to leave. I need to get out of here." She suddenly stated. Taking short glance at Klaus, she turned and sprinted for her car, not glancing at anyone else in her path. She needed to leave before she broke down in front of everyone.
" Eliza!" Klaus' pain filled voice echoed through her ears as she left, and even though she tried her best to ignore it, it still hurt her heart. But she couldn't turn back. It was her turn to give up for once, didn't she deserve it after everything she'd been through?
Meanwhile, back in the box filled living room, Klaus attempted to run after Eliza but immediately hit Elijah's figure when he tried to. Even though Elijah could see the growing depression and maniacal feeling within Klaus, this did not calm Elijah's anger down at all. In fact, he was fuming. Letting out all of his fury, Elijah violently threw Klaus into, slamming him against it numerous times before, finally, holding him hard against the wall. Klaus made no such effort to fight back, and instead his eyes looked lost and defeated; similar but not as powerful to the time he had witnessed Eliza's death.
" I warned you, Niklaus." Elijah growled menacingly. This had to be the angriest Klaus had ever seen Elijah... Only the time when Klaus killed Celeste Dubois could beat this one. " I warned you never to hurt that woman! She has done so much for you, a monster who doesn't deserve any of her love! All this time I believed that you had actually changed. But now I know you haven't changed one bit... you bastard." Elijah growled, his face projecting only menace at his brother. Like before, Klaus flinched at the insult. But, he still made no effort at all to fight back.
" I lost her..." Klaus whispered to himself, tears prickling down his cheeks. Refusing to meet Elijah's eyes, Klaus carried on speaking to himself. " She's gone... I lost her... after everything! I know I deserve every bit of my anguish. I deserve every bit of pain." Klaus shook his head, looking down towards the floor. " What if she's in danger? What if someone hurts her?..."
" Then it will be all your fault." Elijah stated through gritted teeth. In a sudden burst of pure anger, he plunged his hand into Klaus' chest, gripping his heart tightly. Groaning in pain, Klaus met Elijah's eyes for the first time. " Kill me. Find a way to kill me. I deserve it," Klaus said. Elijah shook his head with a bitter laugh.
" And let you have the easy way out?" Elijah asked, his voice turning sarcastic, one equivalent to Kol. " Oh, no. You will live with every bit of pain this has caused you and live with the fact that you lost the only person left who cared about you! You won't give up this easily Niklaus! That is the reason why you lost her in the first place, because you gave up too easily! Learn from your vulgar mistakes for once!" Elijah growled. The conversation abruptly ended at this and Elijah dropped Klaus to the ground then smartened out his suit. " I'm going to find her and make sure she is safe. Hayley I suggest you leave before my brother takes his anger out by killing you. Rebekah and Kol, make sure he doesn't kill her. I don't know how long I'll be gone, but keep in touch. We'll plan whether we move or not later, for now you are to all stay here." Elijah ordered.
" So now that I've lost her you're going to claim her for yourself? How moral of you Elijah." Klaus said a burst of jealousy firing through him. The thought of Elijah and Eliza together felt like fire burning through his body.
" No. I am going to be there to protect her and comfort her in a time of need. Unlike you, brother, I do not wish to hurt her more in anyway," Elijah stated, his eyes hardening. " However, if we were to, in the future of course, become more romantically involved... then that will no doubt be a further punishment that you will be forced to live with. All the pain you receive from it will be your own doing," And with that, Elijah flashed out of the room, leaving behind a very shocked and upset Hayley, an angry Kol and furious Rebekah. Yet again, Niklaus Miaelson had broken the family apart...
So... you guys all hate me for this chapter... that's understandable... and now you're all confused to whether Eliza or Hayley is the mother of Klaus' baby since it turns out he's slept with them both... I promise you will find out next chapter, and just to ease some of your hatred for me, I'll tell you that Klaus and Eliza won't apart forever and that this is still solely a Klaus Mikaelson love story, not a love triangle ( hint, hint). In fact, the outcome of this event is only going to make Eliza a much stronger character which I've been wanting her to be for a long time, hence the reason why she had fight training this chapter.
So now that, that's all cleared up... I'm just going to hide in a hole so you don't all kill me before the next chapter. Updates will be soon, I promise. I will try and make sure an update is complete before I go on holiday next week. For now, thank you for reading and I beg you not to hate me too much...
