Stay In The Light
Part II Double Cross
Authors note:-
Originally Stay in the Light was a one off, just a silly little story, but I liked the idea so much I thought why not try again… so here we are.
Shego growled as she was lead into the open exercise yard. She hated this. She didn't like the food here, despised her tiny little cell, she loathed her fellow inmates, she couldn't stand the special cuffs Kimmie's nerd friend designed to keep her powers in check and she utterly hated little miss perfect Kim Possible.
With her flippy hair, that cheerleader pep attitude and her mysterious new teacher. Shego even hated her often bumbling, sometimes better than he had any right to be, sidekick.
And their little pink mole-rat. She really hated him too.
If someone was to ask her the very much former hero might admit to being a tad obsessed about wanting to bash the redhead's skull in. After practically burying the unfortunate idiot under a mountain of sarcasm that is. It was all she could do with the damn techno-cuffs on.
Looking down at her wrists Shego growled again. Kimmie's pet nerd had outdone himself this time; four little grey boxes on some funky metal bands locked around her wrists. Whenever she tried to make her hands glow a little light on each box flashed and that was it. However they were stopping her abilities worked perfectly, no matter what she did. A slow build up or sudden flare, nothing happened. Hell when they'd put them on Shego noticed they'd even had her low-jacked, a tiny little green flashing dot on a map.
She had tried to break them off first thing, but they had to be made of titanium or something. Even the lock was pretty much solid, there wasn't so much as a seem or split in the smooth finish. There wasn't a lock Shego couldn't pick and her best guess with this thing was that it was remote control. Unless she got a frequency scanner or lifted the remote she'd need a pair of bolt cutters and the right leverage.
Looking around she saw the free weights were abandoned. Catching the guards look she headed over there. They had her under a fricking microscope. It was going to be weeks, even months before she she could make the first escape attempt. Growling again she started her first turn on the bench press.
She had two hours out in the fresh air and Shego planned to spend the first one right here. She had a lot of anger to work through. About half way through one of her sixth senses flared up. The one that told her she was being watched and not just in case she was going to try anything to escape. No, this was in the way that told her violence was coming and was going to bring chaos right along with it.
Chaos was good, it meant confusion. Something every jailbreak relied on. Shego smiled, she might just get out of jail early. Setting the weights back down the former hero looked around casually. There was nothing but open grass land for a couple of miles outside the fence. Anyone else would have missed it, but Shego was good. Just passed the empty field was a small patch of trees, hidden in the deep shadow something moved. Too small to be a man, but shaped the right way. Mostly. Could have been a kid looking for his mother, but it felt wrong.
'You looking for something Go?' One of the guards asked getting close. That's when she saw another shadow move, and another, and another.
The green skinned assassin smirked, she now knew who was out there. He wasn't her first choice for a partner, but if anyone had the man, or monkey, power it was him.
'She did what?!' KP almost shouted at Wade in the monitor before sighing. 'I don't know why I'm surprised. You could drop Shego in Alcatraz and within a week she'd be stealing stuff on the way out of the gift shop.' she huffed and half collapsed against the locker next to her.
Ron had to agree, whenever they thought they had her locked up the Green skinned hench-woman escaped. 'I thought those new handcuffs were supposed to be able to find her anywhere?'
'If she's still wearing them? Sure.' Wade shrugged. 'She cut them off.'
Kim rolled her eyes 'Of course she did.'
'And left them in a dumpster outside a hardware store about a mile from the prison.'
'Total surprise.' She growled. 'I'm sorry Wade, I know you and Donnie spent a long time working on those things.'
The moon faced technical expert smiled. 'It was Donnie that had the break through, charging the transmitters from Shego's powers. The rest was easy.' Ron frowned, Donnie was one of Kim's ninja friends from New York. If he was good enough for Wade to praise he had to be good. 'Anyway I pulled the telemetry from them before they went offline, so I know they worked fine.'
'Where's Draken?' Ron asked, an idea suddenly coming to him.
'Huh?' both Wade and Kim blinked.
'I mean, did she break him out too, or is she going to break him out?'
Wade began typing on his computer as Kim frowned. 'I think they locked them in the same prison this time, didn't they?' she asked
'Yep, according to the security cameras he's still there.' Wade brought up a little picture in the bottom of the screen. The blue skinned mad scientist was covering his head while shouting.
'He… does not look happy.' Kim noticed, standing straight. 'More importantly he looks locked up. Why would Shego escape and not rescue him?'
'What if she couldn't?' Ron suggested.
Kim gaped at him. 'She didn't break out. Someone broke her out! That means she'll have to come back for Draken later. Good thinking Ron.' She kissed him on the cheek.
'And I know who broke her out.' Wade added. 'I've scanned back through the security footage. You want to see this.' The screen flickered and showed a few guards panicking as a dozen or more shadows ran up to them, easily knocking the guards back and then out. The shadows were dressed all in black, smaller than a person and each had a long tail poking out the back of their outfits.
'Monkeys!' Ron muttered
'Ninja Monkeys' Kim agreed
The two of them looked at each other. 'Monkey Fist.'
'Wade,' Kim set her shoulders, she was in full hero mode. 'Any idea where Fiske hangs his monkey bars these days?'
'No, but I can hack the security cameras around the prison, the DMV and the usual car rental places. If I pick up any car or van big enough to carry a monkey army I can follow them back.'
'Is that legal?' KP asked.
Wade actually blushed 'As long as I don't get caught. Yes.'
'You continue to rock!'
It took the computer genius the rest of the afternoon to come up with something, and Ron was seriously thinking that he was beginning to lose his touch. Then, just before cheerleading practice, the Kimmunicator bleeped.
'Found them! I had to pull out all the stops, but I got them!' Wade sounded exited. 'They're in New York.'
'New York?'
'New York?'
'New York. Fiske owns a warehouse there under a fake company name. He rented a truck using another one, but I got a shot of the licence plate just after the escape. I re-wrote a face recognition program to recognise it instead and sent it out across the net. Followed the truck to his hide out.' Wade was proud of his work, even Ron could tell. 'And get this, the fake company: MK Holdings!'
Ron burst out laughing. 'Really?'
Kim on the other hand got that thousand yard stare she had when she was thinking hard. 'Get us a ride Wade, but I'm going to need a side trip back home first. Then there's a call I gotta make.'
Shego lent back on the old office chair she had found, threw her feet on to a half busted crate and began buffing her nails 'You know Fiske, this plan, kinda stupid. Not Dr Dee stupid, but way up there.'
Monty scratched at the side of his face with his genetically altered feet. 'You wanted Kim Possible, you're going to get Kim Possible. What's stupid about that?'
'I don't know, maybe everything!' Shego shouted as she threw a plasma bolt at the centre of the warehouse they were hiding in. Breaking out of jail had been laughably easy, especially with a hundred or so monkey ninjas. The monkey-boy might be a lunatic, but at least he had minions. 'What makes you think she'd even look in New York? And an abandoned warehouse? Big tick in the cliché column but it'll be like looking for a needle in a haystack, full of needles. We'll both die of old age before she even tries looking here.' Shego was beginning to rethink losing the cuffs. Fiske laughed before jumping onto one of the beams above and hung there. 'Oh I think it's you that are underestimating young Miss Possible's capabilities. I can say with some certainty that she will find us. When she does we shall be ready for her.'
Shego looked around again, the hideout it was large and very open plan. The middle was all but empty and hollow. The empty space reached from the ground, up three floors and to the roof that was covered in cargo hooks, winches and pulleys. The other floors all opened out into that space with heavy set balconies. It was an arena, easily set up for training but ready made for a show. 'See your point, I just don't fancy cooling my heels here for weeks while the Princess and her techno-nerd stumble about looking for this place.'
'Oh it won't take that long. I left breadcrumbs.'
'You mean the great big "it's a trap" sign you waved under our noses.' Possible smirked as she walked into the building. 'How could we resist?'
Shego was on her feet in a second. 'Breadcrumbs?' she asked, feeling like she had missed something very important
'Yeah.' The sidekick grinned. 'You know MK Holdings, even I saw the trap a mile away.'
'Okay, so why didn't you tell me this little part of the plan Fiske?' Shego turned only to see him fold his arms.
'Sorry Shego, but you were never the trap. Just the bait.' He flipped up and onto one of the balconies. With a wide gesture he pointed to the other balconies surrounding them. 'My master requested Possible's presence and I have delivered.'
The former hero released she'd been used and saw red. Before she could do anything permeant, like break the mutant into a million pieces and stomp on what was left, the blond sidekick said:- 'Urm KP, we got ninjas.'
Out of the shadows an army of leotard wearing, heavily armed warriors appeared. This time though they weren't monkeys, but full all out ninjutsu fighters armed to the teeth with a ton of medieval Japanese weaponry. 'Foot clan!' The Princess said in the tone of voice Shego would have used for swearing up a storm.
'Foot what?' Shego asked, feeling like she was the only one not knowing what the hell was happening. Instead of answering Kimmie reached over her back and drew a pair of weapons Shego hadn't noticed earlier.
'How droll, the cheerleader thinks she can use Hook Swords.' Fiske laughed. 'I'm afraid it would take far too long to teach you their correct use. Far longer than you have. Foot Ninja, attack!'
Hook swords, as Shego knew all to well, were some of the most versatile weapons you could have. Always in pairs they were exactly what they sounded like. Long sword like weapons with wicked hooks on the ends, a crescent shaped guard over the knuckles and a short dagger on the pommel. Lethal in the right hands and dangerous in the wrong ones. Kimmie's looked like they'd been modified though, the sharp cutting edge of the blade was gone and the dagger hilts had been replaced with a solid looking mace. Another thing Shego knew was that no master worth his belt would let the Princess lose with anything like them if she hadn't had some rather intense training.
The first two ninja jumped down from above and charged, right into Kim. Hooking one sword to the other the cheerleader swung the now double length weapon, mace first, at both of them. In one smooth move she'd knocked both out. Then the cheerleader caught the handle on its return, unlocking them with a deft flick of the wrist she dropped into a classic guard. 'I've already had the training.' Kim told him with a smirk.
'Impressive.' A new voice announced. 'You truly are skilled, as Monkey Fist said.' Shego spun and backed off. The newcomer was on the ground floor, with them, but still towered high above. More than seven feet tall and dressed head to toe in ornate plate armour that was covered in spikes and blades. In his left hand he had a weapon, part punching dagger and part spiked knuckle duster. His face was covered with a shiny plate and a helmet on his head that had three horns sweeping back from just above his eyes to behind the back of his head.
'Who the hell is this guy? And where did he get his costume from, a kitchen appliance warehouse?' Shego asked. She was going to be damned if she wasn't getting any answers and soon.
This earned her a look from the metal clad psycho she really could have done without. 'I am the Shredder, Duke Acureds, Master of the Foot Ninja Clan, and I am offering you, all of you a choice. Join me, defeat my enemies and live, or defy me. Become my enemies and die here.'
Shego looked to Kim and her sidekick. The idea of working with the cheerleader turned Shego's stomach, but they were outnumbered and in a lot of trouble. Kimmie though had a different idea. 'Never!' she shouted. 'I'll never serve a murdering monster with no honour like you. You'll have to kill us, right Ron.'
'I'm kinda still on the wetting myself with fear part of this but sure, whatever you say KP.'
The Shredder pulled himself to his full hight and slashed the air. 'So be it. Attack!'
Ron was really not happy. These were the ninjas KP had fought before. Proper, real ninjas with sharp pointy weapons and there were lots of them. Something KP left out was the whole seven foot ninja master, who just stood there like a statue. Ron had fought all sorts of things in his time by Kim's side, but there was something about this guy that screamed terror. It wasn't the fact it was raining his Foot clan ninjas all around them, but that didn't help. It it was the way he casually stood there, confidant that he didn't need to do anything but wait and the three of them would soon be very much dead.
Kim leapt into action, swinging those cool new swords of hers. When she'd picked them up from her house Ron hadn't been sure about them. It was one thing to tell him she'd had some super cool double secret training, it was another to suddenly have her pull out lethal looking weapons. She'd tried to tell him they weren't, but Ron was sure those sharp looking hooks were anything but safe. Now, watching how she used them, he was going to have to apologise.
KP moved from bad guy to bad guy like she'd practiced it a million times before. Each part of the weapons seemed to do a different thing. The hooks were great at trapping other people's swords and staffs. The blade bit was good for parrying and sweeping things as well as people out of her way. The half moon guards over Kim's hands blocked and worked like oversized knuckledusters. Finally the club like pommel was solid enough to knock the bad guys senseless. Catching an axe mid swing Kim disarmed the ninja that was coming at her, with a flick of her wrist she sent the axe flying off to one side. Coming up and under their guard she doubled them over with low blow. A quick blow to the side of his head with the other weapon left them out for the count.
Ron didn't get to see much more, the Foot were everywhere and some were coming straight at him. 'Rufus, interference.' He called out, the little guy jumped out from his pocket and ran at the nearest bad guy. The mole-rat bit at the guy's ankle, tripping them up. Ron dashed for another one, this one had a staff.
He grabbed the middle of their weapon and used his momentum to swing his legs out. Pulling the ninja off balance the young sidekick kept hold of the staff, the ninja didn't. Ron was far from an expert, but he had training in Monkey Kung-Fu. The big advantage Tai Shing Pek Kwar had was it was unconventional, it exploited multiple flaws in classic ninjutsu forms. Flipping backwards Ron landed on his feet and spun his new staff around in his hands.
An uppercut with one end of the staff and a straight kick to their gut doubled up the next ninja that came for him. A jab with the other end caught the one swinging an axe at Rufus in the face. Spinning the staff again Ron remembered he was supposed to keep it close and not overextend himself.
It was at that point he ripped his pants off, again, and Monkey Fist charged.
Shego really wanted to throttle Kim Possible. She was supposed to be smart, not suicidal. Throwing plasma at anything that was moving the green skinned assassin tried to fight her way to the door. She had to get out of this death trap, leave the cheerleader and the walking cheese-grater to hash it out and get her revenge on Monkey Fist later. The problem was no one told the ninjas that she wasn't part of this. 'Get out of my way!' Shego shouted, before getting hit in the back by a staff.
Falling down she let her instincts take over, using her momentum Shego rolled out of the way of a follow up strike. Getting her feet back underneath she ignored the pain from her shoulder and turned on the idiot that had ambushed her. Incinerating the staff with one hand she uppercutted him. Dislodging their mask and stumbling them. That gave her the perfect set up for a right cross that knocked their lights out. It was almost worthless, there were just too many of them to fight like this.
Sparing a moment she looked to see how Kim was doing. Little miss perfect leapt into the air, hooked herself onto a beam above with her swords and planted a double kick that threw her opponent into four others. The blond buffoon was also doing well, somewhere along the way he'd grabbed a staff of his own and was facing off with Fiske. It was hard to tell who was winning there, but the sidekick would often break off to quickly intercept a lackey before deflecting Fiske again. Something told Shego Stoppable could be just as good, if not better than, the mutant.
To the green skinned assassin's surprise even that stinking pink Mole-Rat was making itself useful. Dashing about pulling masks, tripping people up and generally making a pest of itself. Shego guessed that, with her help, they might pull through and even survive this fight.
She wasn't the only one to see this. 'Enough! Foot-tech Ninja!' The armoured villain shouted and a new group appeared. Where the other, regular, lackeys wore black with a grey vest over the top these guys were in blue suits covered in high tech looking gizmos, flashing lights and a darker grey armour.
'What do these guys do?' Stoppable asked as Fiske backflipped away from him. As if in answer several of them tapped a red crystal on their chests and promptly shimmered before vanishing from sight. Others aimed their gauntlets and began firing laser beams at the three of them. 'Good answer!' he quipped before leaping behind cover.
Shego vaulted over a crate that quickly caught fire when three separate beams scythed through the space she'd been in not a second before. 'What the hell? Kimmie, next time you decide to piss off the bad guy, don't include me!' She shouted
'Hey, you were the one that invited us!' Stoppable shouted.
The cheerleader was too busy fighting to quip. Using the flat of one of her blades she reflected one of the beams back at the guy that fired it. They dodged easily and Kim was blindsided by what Shego guessed was one of the invisible ninjas.
Cursing under her breath Shego jumped over the scorched crate she'd been ducking behind and, dodging laser beams, ran straight for the Shredder. 'Hey! Hey big guy!' she shouted. As soon as she had his attention she backed off. 'Look, this really isn't my fight and I want to go on living as much as the next gal.'
'You are offering to serve me?' The Shredder asked.
'Anything that lets me get even with little miss perfect the better.'
'Shego, no!' The red head shouted, 'You don't know what you're doing!' before she was shut up with a kick to the face.
'Saving my butt and kicking yours.' Shego snarked back, privately impressed by the way she quickly flipped back to her feet despite the blooded top lip.
But the Shredder hadn't finished. 'In exchange for your life you will serve me, follow my orders, destroy my enemies at my command. Now, bow before me as your master.'
Shego looked back at Kimberly and her sidekick. They were having a lot more trouble. The Foot-tech whatever's were just too powerful, it was only a matter of minutes before they were swamped. This was Shego's only chance to survive.
Then, to even her own surprise, the green skinned assassin sighed. 'You know what, I never liked taking orders. Just kill me now and get it over with rust breath.'
The next thing she knew she was flying through the air.
Ron had a good view of the two of them and even he never saw the blow coming, let alone hit. One instant Shego was standing, the next she was totalling two crates and sending ninjas tumbling like they were bowling pins.
The Shredder was fast, really fast. So fast that it was really stupid to try and fight them.
Breaking cover Ron used his staff like a pole volt to throw himself in the direction Shego had landed. Luck was on his side for once and as he threw is legs out Ron kicked two of the invisible bad guys. It was a bit of a shock but he rolled with it, literally, before swinging his staff blindly. Catching another one and sending them into another packing crate that shattered
KP was already at Shego's side. 'Nice moves Ron.' She grinned at him.
'This is so massively bad I'm going to have to come up with a whole new scale of sick and wrong! Ron told her, 'How's Shego?'
'Shego's fine, a little ticked but fine.' The green skinned woman snapped before flipping back to her feet. The ninjas had backed off, giving them space. 'What are they waiting for?'
As one the Ninjas parted and the Shredder stepped in front of them. 'Enough games. You have insulted me and rejected your final chance!'
'Oh boy.' Ron whispered under his breath.
Shredder slashed the air so fast that his hand actually made a swoosh noise as it moved; 'Hun! Foot Elite! Serve your master and annihilate them!' Behind him, but still in front of the others, a cloud of smoke appeared out of nowhere. Out of it stepped four guys dressed in medieval Japanese armour, each carrying their own weapons, and one guy Kim had already told him about.
Hun was even bigger than Ron had imagined, he looked more like a building that had grown limbs than a person. flexing his muscles the big man then cracked his knuckles loudly. It sounded like some one snapping branches off a dead tree.
'Okay, we get it, you're bad.' Shego said. 'Do we at least get a choice between horrible deaths?'
'I've always preferred living.' KP said as Ron heard something outside. The three of them were near one of the walls, that should have meant they were cornered but Kim sounded confident. 'Come on, I told you we knew it was a trap, didn't you think we'd call for back up?'
Behind them a window exploded and out flew a motorcycle that went right over their heads and into the crowd of bad guys. The Shredder was quick enough to jump out of the way, but the giant Hun wasn't and even he couldn't stand up to that. As the bike and giant went one way the bike's rider went another. As they landed on their feet Ron got a good look at him.
Wearing battered jeans, a faded red Tee-shirt, hockey gloves he had a golfing bag slug over his back. Out of the the bag he pulled out a baseball bat and hockey stick. 'Casey Jones!' Kim shouted. 'Just when you think your favourite New York based, sports obsessed vigilante wasn't going to show up!'
'Sorry I'm late to the party. Didn't know the guests were going to be this interesting!' Jones said over his shoulder and Ron saw he was also wearing a hockey mask. 'Goongala!' he shouted and charged into the ninjas, his bat and stick sending teeth and blood flying.
'Where the hell did you find this guy Princess, Psycho's r' us?'
'Jones!' Bellowed Hun as he picked up the motorbike and, with his bare hands, crushed it like a pop can.
'You're going to pay for that Hun!' the sports fan called back, 'I just made the last payments on that thing!'
Ron watched as the two of them charged each other. 'Shouldn't we, you know, be helping them Kim?'
'Which one?' Shego asked as Jones swung an uppercut that should have killed anyone else but the huge man. Ron watched as the ninjas began to surround them.
Before the three of them could move to help a pretty woman with red hair and wearing a yellow tracksuit came through the broken window, drawing a short katana she dashed past them and got to work on the Foot. 'Oh great, another one!' Shego hissed as the new girl easily parried an on-coming sword before jump kicking the bad guy away.
'Hi April.' Kim waved. 'How's things, still keeping that big lug of yours out of trouble?'
'Still trying to.' April, the girl, called back before spinning her sword in a whirl of strokes. 'I see yours lost his pants again.'
'Hey!' Ron shouted indigently
'Oh god, they're friends.' Shego groaned. 'As if one plucky red head with side kick wasn't enough now there's two.'
'Oh he's not her sidekick and they're not the back up I called.' KP said with a smile. That got the Shredder's attention.
'You don't mean…' He began only to be interrupted by the armoured vehicle smashing through the nearest wall.
New Yorkers, Shego reasoned, did not know how to use doors. That or they all needed driving lessons. After the hockey masked nut job, that was making a serious dent in the grey clad ninja's ranks and the older clone of the princess turning that dent into a hole this was nearly too much.
A heavily modified armoured car, with what even looked like jet propulsion and a green paint job, took down a wall. Sending concrete blocks flying everywhere the AV screeched to a dead stop, at the last moment kicking it's back wheels out and hitting the Shredder.
The guy was bad, super strong, incredibly fast and had an elite army of ninja's at his beck and call, but not even he deserved to be run over like that. There was overkill and then there was upwards of five tons hitting you at speeds capable of shattering bone. What had to be his broken body smashed into a support column and a whole floor fell lose with a deafening crunch. He was buried under a pile of rubble and debris that would take days to clear.
In the aftermath there was a long silence that lasted seconds. 'Well he's dead.' Shego quipped, not sure what else to say.
'Nope, but he might be winded.' The other red head said.
The green skinned assassin turned on them. 'Winded? Winded? I don't know what things are like on your planet, but on Earth we have a little thing called physics and that tells me chrome-face over there… is… very…' she trailed off as a block of reinforced concrete moved. Then another and another then finally an armoured fist burst out. 'What's it take to kill this guy?' She gasped.
'Don't know, we've been trying though.' A new voice said. Shego looked down and saw…
It was green, she decided. Very green, even darker than her skin colour. It was also bald, had a large shell on it's back and was green. The… the… It had three fingers, well two and a thumb, on each hand and in those hands were two long handled katanas. It had some sort of harness over it's shell and a blue mask over it's eyes.
It wasn't human, neither were the three others standing next to it. From the looks of it they had jumped out of the back of the AV. 'Hey Leo, nice entrance! You and the bro's ready to do this?'
One of them laughed roughly and pulled out twin sai's. 'Sure are Kim. Let's kick some shell!'
'Hey what about green girl?' The one with a pair of nunchucks waved a thumb in Shego's direction. 'Isn't she a bad guy?'
'Not today Mikey.' the princess laughed. 'Come on, otherwise Raph won't leave any left for the rest of us!' she quipped and followed them into battle, leaving Shego with the blond sidekick.
'Err, is it me or are our new friends…' he started.
'… Anthropomorphic turtles.' She finished. 'I thought it was just me.'
'Antho-whatic.' Stoppable blinked, not understanding the word.
'Anthropomorphic, meaning human like, or near human. It's derived from the greek word Anthopromorphus.' One of the turtles, this one with a bo staff and wearing a purple bandana told him. 'You two going to help or keep expanding your vocabulary?'
Ron was right behind the turtle with the staff. They were good, real good. Ron even had trouble keeping up with them. Turtles were supposed to be slow, whoever said that never met these guys. They were everywhere at once, striking, blocking and parrying. They were the brothers Kim had been training with and Ron could see why she'd gotten so much better.
Like she'd said they'd both known it was a trap from the beginning. So they hadn't realised that the Shredder, super evil bad guy, was involved, but they knew something was up. Calling for back up was his idea, Kim agreed and he was glad she had. When this was over he might just ask to be trained as well.
'Turtles!' The Shredder shouted as he pulled himself free of the rubble. 'Destroy them all.'
'You might want to think again Crome face!' one of the turtles called out. 'Donnie, rockets!'
Donnie, the turtle Ron was with, pulled out a remote control and flipped a switch. Their truck opened and a rocket launcher appeared. Ron ducked as it fired a salvo at the bad guy.
The smoke cleared and the Shredder growled. He was still standing there! Red eyes blazing under his helmet. 'You will pay for that, freaks!'
'No!' Another mutant called out from the warehouse above. Ron realised that he would never be surprised again as he saw a giant, man-sized rat flip down to the floor in front of Shredder. 'You have already lost Orouko Saki, Kimberly saw through your crude trap and we have the surprise. You've committed your reinforcements and have been out manoeuvred.'
'Vermin!' The Shredder bellowed and attacked. It was the strangest thing Ron had ever seen. An armour clad villain against a mutant rat. Both were good, the rat with a short walking stick and evil master with his punch dagger. After a brief struggle the bad guy pulled back and looked around.
The rat was right, with the new guys coming in on their side the ninjas didn't have a chance. It took a moment for the Shredder to realise. 'There will be another time, freaks!' he threw a smoke bomb down and escaped. His ninjas did the same and very quickly the warehouse was full of smoke.
Coughing and with tears running down his face Ron stumbled until he found the hole the armoured car made. Gulping down the fresh air he turned back. 'KP! Shego! Turtle guys! You alright in there?'
'My mouth tastes like one of Raph's last attempts at cooking. Bleh!' Came back as one of the Turtles followed him out. 'Hello, Ron Stoppable right?'
'That's me. you the ninja guy's KP's been training with?'
'She told you about us?'
Ron laughed. 'That she was training, yes. She didn't tell me you guys were green.'
He laughed back and offered a three fingered hand. 'Name's Mikey.'
Ron was shaking it when the rat shouted from inside. 'Michelangelo!'
'Come on, meet the family.' Mikey waved him back inside. The smoke had cleared from inside and the three turtles, the rat, and their two human friends were all there.
Ron didn't care about them right now. 'KP, you alright.'
'I feel like I just when six rounds with a sythodrone but I'm cool. You?' She had a split lip, a big red mark on the other side of her face that was the start of a black eye and her mission clothes were torn and tattered.
Ron was sure he looked worse. 'Worse, like I was the one that fought the synthodrone!'
She grinned at that. 'Ron, I'd like to introduce my Master Hamato Splinter.' Ron gave the rat his best bow.
'I am honoured.' He said carefully and was surprised to see both Kim and Shego were shocked. 'What? I spent time in Japan, I know my stuff.'
'Young Stoppable. My student has mentioned you often, I see her faith in your potential may be justified.' Master Splinter told him. 'As she has also talked of you, Shego.'
Shego looked around. 'Oh great. This the part where you guys throw me back in the cage?'
'Will it do any good?' Kim sighed, 'You'll be out and causing trouble again before we even get home.'
The hench-woman smirked. 'Yep, unless you happen to have another pair of those techno-cuffs.'
'Actually I have a few ideas about those.' Donnie spoke up. 'I've been experimenting with a molecular bonded sealant that actually gets stronger the more pressure you apply. I think if Wade and I use it and a few other tricks I picked up from my recent studies of Utrom technology we can have a secure way of restraining you.'
'Oh , well you don't have to go to too much trouble on my behalf.'
'It's no trouble, really. The only problem is it will take me a week or two to synthesise enough. According to Kim you'll be gone long before that.'
'What can I say, I have a hankering for the open sky and the open road.' she made a show of looking at a watch she didn't have. 'And will you look at that, it was time I was going. So bye, good luck with your ninja clan war against tall dark and invincible. I'll send you a post card, from Tahiti.'
'Hold it right there.' The turtle with swords pointed one at her. 'If you think we're just going to let you go…'
'Just let her go Leo.' KP, sighed. 'We can't hold her without those cuffs and throwing her back in jail is just going to waste everyone's time.'
'Really?' Both Shego and Ron said at once.
'Yeah.' she sounded really tired of the whole thing. 'There's no point. Sure we could fight, I could win, she could win but whatever happens after that she'd just escape again and I'd have to chase her down…'
'Wow, you're depressing me Princess, but you're right. Without those cuffs it's the same old thing over again.' Shego shrugged. 'I'll do you a deal, I'll take the week off, I need the holiday. You and your geeks can come up with something new and I'll break Dr Dee out then, not before.'
'A week off?' Kim asked, stunned at the idea. So was Ron.
'I don't know about you but I need it.' Shego pointed out.
'Throw in never coming back to this town again and you got a deal.' The turtle with the swords added.
'Leo!'
'Kim's right Raph. Jails can't hold her and neither can we. Not yet. Best to make a deal and keep her from making trouble.' Leo spun his swords around and then sheathed them across his back. 'Agreed?' he offered a three fingered hand.
After a moment Shego shook. 'Now that's done, I'm getting out of here. See you later Kimmie. Hope never to see the rest of you!' With that she ran and flipped out of the window.
'I can't believe you just let her go Leo!' Casey shouted. 'She's a bad guy, we should have… I don't know… at least tried to stop her?'
'Donnie?' Leo grinned, showing a lot of teeth. The one with a purple bandana pulled out a handheld computer. On the screen it showed a green dot rapidly moving away. 'I put a tracer on her. Don't know how long it will take her to find it, but until she does we can keep an eye on her.'
'And we'll be able to find at least one of her hideouts! Good thinking Leo!' Kim grinned.
'Yes my son. A very clever tactic, however be aware never underestimate your opponent.' Master Splinter warned, just in time for the dot to vanish.
'Nothing ventured, nothing gained.'
'Now, Kimberly, seeming both you and your friend are here, we should continue your training. Let us return to the layer, there we will practice your reactions. That is, of course, after we have celebrated our victory!'
'Wahoo!' Mikey shouted. 'Pizza for everyone!'
Shego boosted a car and set her sights on the horizon, leaving the lights of New York behind. She was going to take the week off, but not to give the princes a break. Hell no. Seeing her fight off the Foot clan had told her one thing. Kim was damn good before and had a real master training her now.
It was time she broke out the training kit again, she was going to have to practice more and improve if she was going to match the cheerleader again.
Shego laughed, poor Kimmie was getting bored with defeating her? Oh the game just got even more interesting!
