Takeda

They ran past building after building until Takeda couldn't make sense of where he was anymore. He had never been to this part of town but Kenichi seemed to know the way. Takeda looked up at the sky, as if its vast openness would tell him the location of where Ashley was, or what was happening to her. For a moment, some clouds had come together and almost took the shape of her head. The little clouds got in front and were in the places where her eyes, nose, and mouth would have been. The mouth clouds came together to form a circle, wide as if she were crying out loud. Her eye clouds small, like little slivers but he could still tell they were meant to be eyes. They made it seemed like she was really sad or so scared that she couldn't bear to look at whatever was making scared.

Then a sudden gust of wind blew the clouds apart and Takeda shook his head to get the image out of his mind.

"Ashley, I've got a really bad feeling," Takeda whispered. Kenichi didn't respond as their feet kept hitting the ground so lightly that they might as well have been flying. Takeda couldn't remember a time in his life where he was so afraid of something happening to a person he loved so much that he flew to them. Well, except for his buddy back when he was working on being a professional boxer, but there was a major difference. Back then he knew the stakes, one of their careers was most likely to go, and it just happened that it was Takeda's. However now, he had no idea. He didn't know what these people wanted with Ashley or what it would cost him to get her back safely. Ashley hadn't noticed back then, but when they were talking about people getting hurt and the cousins had looked at each other, Takeda knew something was up. Ashley rarely if ever looked as angry as she did back at dinner. It wasn't only anger though. Takeda had even sensed a little fear mixed in with her anger and he wanted to know what could make her so scared. She seemed unscareable to him.

They eventually were able to find the park that they were told to go to by Ashley in the doc's dream.

"Okay, so we're here. Now what?" Takeda asked.

"Master Akisame said something about screaming. So I'm guessing if we wait here long enough, we should be able to hear her scream," Kenichi said.

"But we can't wait that long! We should be searching every nook and cranny that we can! Who knows what that guy is doing to her right now? Ugh, that guy better not touch her with his gross, grubby hands. If he does I'm gonna-"Kenichi interrupted him.

"I understand how you feel Takeda, but we need to use what leads we have. Besides, this is a small park. No matter where we are in here, we'll be able to hear the same amount of things," Kenichi said.

"But-"Takeda once again got cut off, this time by a scream.

"Stop!" a muffled yet crisp female voice screamed. If one weren't listening to it close enough, it would sound more like a child playfully yelling stop in a game than a 17 year-old screaming for help. Kenichi and Takeda looked at each other in horror.

"Ashley!" they whispered. Power quickly burst into their legs as they jumped onto the branch of a nearby tree and onto the roofs, following the direction of Ashley's continuous screams. Takeda didn't know what had come over him; this amount of power was never in him before. The highest he could have ever jumped was enough to grab onto the branch with his hands, let alone hop onto it and land on his feet and then quickly jumping from roof to roof as if he were a master. Maybe it was the adrenaline of hearing her voice again. It wasn't the way he wanted to hear it though. Her beautiful voice that was normally like silk going through his ears had let out ear piercing screams that sent daggers through his heart and forced violent thoughts into his mind. When he found the man that was hurting her like this, he would rip him to shreds. He would beat him until he was unconscious, but he wouldn't kill him since Takeda was a Katsujinken fighter. That meant he would never kill his opponents, even if they deserved it.

They continued to leap from roof to roof, adrenaline fully in both of their systems and their eyes and fists shaking with rage. Their teeth slightly visible as they grinded the marrow together with extreme anger.

"Her screams are coming from that house!" Kenichi yelled. They both jumped down and landed smoothly on the street in front of the gate that surrounded the small, two story, condo looking house. Takeda took a closer look at it in its entirety. The front yard looked like no one had bothered to take care of it in about a year, except for cutting it. The grass itself looked as brown as dirt, which it might as well have been. It would have perfectly described the kind of person to kidnap Ashley. There were several bottles of beer and wine littered all across the yard and there was a dog house in a corner close to the house with a Kai Ken sleeping in it.

"Looks like they have a hunting dog with them," Kenichi commented.

"Yeah, you don't see those too often anywhere," Takeda said. The dog itself was black and it looked like it was chained to the dog house and asleep. Seeing this Takeda and Kenichi jumped over the fence so that they wouldn't wake the dog up by squeaking the iron gate open. They landed softly and the dog didn't wake up. As soon as they saw this they started to walk up to the house, glaring at it, attempting to pierce fear into the owners as they approached. The building was entirely made of red bricks whose color was starting to fade into a duller, lighter red than its original fire truck red.

Kenichi twisted the handle and they weren't too surprised to find it locked.

"Of course," Kenichi muttered. Takeda looked around and found a broken window on the second story.

"Hey, you think we can make it through there?" Takeda whispered.

"With the adrenaline that's pumping through my body right now? Heck yeah!" Kenichi said. He took a few steps back and jumped up, his hands grabbing the ledge in front of the window and he climbed through the large gap in the window with ease. He urged Takeda to do the same and so Takeda did. When he went through the gap in the window, the edge of the broken glass sliced his forearm a little. He almost cried out in pain, but Kenichi slapped a hand on his mouth and shook his head.

"If you scream now, we'll be caught," Kenichi whispered.

"You already have been, boys," an elderly voice said. Takeda gently lowered himself to the floor and Kenichi and he stared at the old man standing in the doorway. He had his hands resting on a cane in front of him and he was glaring at them. "Now, what does a pair of teenage boys have in mind when they sneak into an old man's house? Are you trying to rob me or something?"

"No sir, it's not like that. You see-"Kenichi started.

"We heard a very close friend of ours screaming and we figured out that her screams were coming from this house," Takeda stated.

"Hey! Don't make it sound like we're accusing him of anything!" Kenichi whispered.

"That's right, I'm not harming anyone," the old man said. Kenichi sighed and was about to apologize to the old man when Takeda stepped in.

"Is there anyone else in this house? Surely an old man like you wouldn't be living on your own?" Takeda said.

"How rude! First you break into my home, then accuse me of harming a girl, and now you're saying I am too old to be able to take care of myself? I want you boys to leave right now. I've had enough of your rudeness!" the old man yelled.

"We're terribly sorry old-timer. We're going now," Kenichi said. Then came another scream. This time it was very loud and sounded like it was two floors below them. Takeda looked at the old man's reaction. He had started sweating and mouthed something to himself but Takeda could understand it very well.

"Damn, can't that stupid son of mine have fun with her quieter? He's going to ruin everything."

"She's here," Takeda said.

"Yeah, even I can sense it now," Kenichi said. "Sorry about this old man." Takeda began to walk past the old man when he suddenly felt the wind move on the back of his neck, but it suddenly stopped. He paused in his step and looked back to see the old man's fist just an inch away from the back of Takeda's neck, and Kenichi holding the old man's punch back.

"So, not giving up without a fight huh?" Takeda asked. The old man smirked.

"I wasn't lying when I said I wasn't hurting her. In fact, no one is hurting her. My son is just having some adult fun with her is all," the old man said. Takeda's eyes grew wide with shock, disgust, and anger. He grabbed the old man by the collar.

"You despicible old man! You're lucky that I practice in the martial arts of defeating my opponents without killing them!" Takeda yelled. He tossed the old man in the air and punched his chest, sending the old man flying into a wall on the opposite end of the room.

"Takeda!" Kenichi yelled.

"Look closely Kenichi! That old man isn't normal! I guarantee he's a martial artist!" Takeda yelled, getting into an offensive position. The old man chuckled and stood up without the use of his cane with ease.

"My my, you're a sharp fellow aren't you?" the old man said, smirking at them. "I may not be a master, but I am still pretty strong. I should be more than enough to take care of two whippersnappers like you two!" He ran at Kenichi first who was still confused. Takeda jumped in front of him and defended Kenichi in his bewildered state. "Get out of the way, blue haired boy! Or do you want to be the first to die?" Takeda punched him away.

"Kenichi! It's obvious we have to fight our way out of here! Who do you want to take on? This guy or the next one?" Takeda said. Ashley screamed again and this time the sound of something whipping through the air could be heard.

"That's it! Scream you slut scream!" a man's voice from below yelled. Takeda started to shake with sudden anger.

"You take on that guy Takeda! I'll fight this old man and join you once I'm done!" Kenichi said. Takeda nodded and ran out of the room. The old man ran at him but Kenichi got in-between them and kicked the old man farther back into the room. "I'm your opponent now!" Kenichi got into a defensive position, ready for anything the old man could bring.

"You make sure you catch up later Kenichi!" Takeda yelled as he ran out the room and down one flight of stairs. He found a door and opened it, it leading into a basement of sorts. The whipping sound stopped and what Takeda found there made him want to rip the man's throat out. No, he wanted to beat the man so hard so that when he lived on, he would forever be afraid of Takeda's face and his and Ashley's names. Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but Takeda was willing to beat that man close to death in cold blood since it meant saving Ashley from the horror she was experiencing.

Sakaki

Sakaki paced back and forth in the room. His arms were crossed across his chest, his eggplant colored eyebrows narrowed down in worry and impatience. He couldn't help but worry about her. Was she taken to that factory those guys had talked about earlier? If so, what were they doing to her there? They said she had some unfinished business, but what kind of business?

"So help me if they harm one hair on her head, they'll wish they were never born!" Sakaki whispered. He stopped walking and roughly scratched his head in anger and hopelessness. "Damn it! Where is that damn factory? Where could it be?"

"What are you talking about Shio? Oh look, it opened," Akisame said as the lock to Haley's diary finally clicked open. Shio ran to them and slide until he was sitting next to Akisame.

"You did it? What does it say?" Sakaki asked, staring at the diary over Akisame's shoulder.

"Relax Shio. And take a step away from me. I'll gladly hand you the diary so you can read it yourself, just give me a moment to quickly scan the pages for any key words that might help us," Akisame said. Sakaki sighed but complied. He sat back on the heels of his feet, his knees touching the floor and his hands resting on his muscly thighs. Akisame's eyes quickly scanned over each page, turning the page every five seconds or so. After about two minutes he finally handed over the diary to Sakaki.

"What does it say?" he asked, taking the diary into his own hands and staring at it, wondering what gruesome tales it could tell.

"That's for you to read in depth, I only scanned it remember? However I am going to have to leave to discuss something with Hayato about what I did find. Allie, you coming?" Akisame said standing up. Allie nodded and followed him out the door. She almost reminded him of a stray puppy with its new master, except this puppy could easily take care of herself if her new master decided to be mean and too rough with her, or if he said the wrong words. Sakaki brought his attention back to the book. What he spent the rest of that day reading eventually caused his whole body to shake, his blood boil to the maximum level, and his head and heart were filled with nothing but rage against the people who continuously hurt Haley and the new emotion in his heart to bloom even more as he learned about all the hardships Haley had had to endure before he met her. It was then that he finally fully regretted stepping on her Taser.

"Haley, the moment we reunite, I'll find a way to get you a new Taser, even though this one won't mean as much to you as your old one did, for obvious reasons. And I'll teach you everything I know about Karate, so you'll never have to endure this kind of crap again!" Sakaki said, engraving his vow into his head and heart. He stared outside at the sky, hoping that somehow she would be able to hear his vow to her and her protection. "That is a vow I will make certain comes to be true or I'll die trying!"
