Sakaki

Sakaki watched in horror as Haley fell to the ground, not moving.

"Haley!" he yelled. Then he glared up the hallway at the bastard who shot her. He took one step towards them, unleashing almost all of his ki, but the old man put a hand on his shoulder and shook his head.

"You take Haley and get out of here. That was the point of coming here right?" the old man said. Sakaki scoffed but nodded anyway.

"Yeah, you're right. I really wanted to destroy this place after rescuing her so that they could never do this to her again," Sakaki said. The old man nodded.

"I understand your pain Shio. Why don't you leave the destruction to me? You get her out of here," the old man said. Sakaki nodded and picked up Haley bridal style. She seemed to be awake just enough to be able to ask him one favor.

"Level five," she winced then continued, "there are others down in level five and the level below us. Please help them." She passed out as soon as she finished talking. Sakaki tightened his grip on her and held her close.

"Don't worry Haley, we'll help them too. But first I need to get you out of here," Sakaki said. The old man agreed.

"I'll go down to the lower levels and free whoever I can find. As soon as I finish that, I'll destroy this place once and for all," he said. Sakaki nodded.

"Okay, I'll leave it to you then," he said. Sakaki ran down the hallway Haley had previously been running down, all the while trying to carry her as gently as possible. The elevator door opened again and this time it wasn't some scrawny soldier who simply passed out when he felt Sakaki's ki. No, this time it was a martial arts master. Sakaki could tell by the ki that this one wasn't to be underestimated. "Damn it. How am I supposed to fight him and save her at the same time? Hold on Haley, you stay right here for a while." He placed Haley down gently against a wall and stood in front of her, ready to fight.

"There she is. I was wondering where the rat had hidden in. Must have found a hole in the wall," the guy said. Sakaki's glare hardened.

"What did you just call her?" Sakaki growled. The guy smirked.

"A rat," he repeated. Sakaki got into an offensive position.

"I'll make you regret those words. But first tell me, are you the one who kidnapped her in the first place?"

"I only grabbed her from your dojo and put her in a car. The guys in coats did the rest. I was only hired to get her and keep her here."

"Well, now that doesn't work for me. You see, this girl means a lot to me," Sakaki said, fighting back hard against a blush as he said it. "So I need to get her home safe and sound."

"Now that doesn't' work for me either. It's my job to keep her here and you're trying to interfere with it. Looks like I'll have to subdue you. Or crush you. Either way works for me." The guy also got into an offensive position. By his stance Sakaki could tell he was a satsujin ken type fighter. Sakaki would have to be careful, this guy would be aiming to kill. Sakaki took a deep breath.

"Let's do this," Sakaki said. He ran at the guy and the guy ran at him. The guy hurled a fist at Sakaki, but Sakaki caught it, brought the guy closer, and punched him in the face, sending him flying backwards and into the elevator, breaking it. The guy stood up a second later and walked out of the rubble that was the elevator. He shook his head and ran at Sakaki once more. He sent a kick at Sakaki, but Sakaki blocked it with his powerful arms. Sakaki grabbed the guy's leg, spun around and threw him at the elevator once more. The guy growled.

"Stop throwing me at this stupid elevator!" he yelled. Sakaki smirked.

"What? Can't handle a little metal?" Sakaki asked. The guy roared and ran at him once more. The guy's speed increased with his rage and now the real battle started. Sakaki dodged and kept dodging until he had a good feel for the guy's strength and fighting style.

Karate huh? Unfortunately for you, I'm stronger. Even though most cases that doesn't matter, today I have someone to protect behind me. You can't beat me. Sakaki thought. He one of the guy's fists and glared at him, letting him feel his full ki. The guy trembled a little but shook his head to get himself under control.

"I'm out of your league. Even you should be able to understand that," Sakaki said in a dark voice. He threw a punch at the guy's face and sent him flying once more into the elevator. This time the cables in the elevator gave out and the elevator fell all the way down to the ground. "If you're still conscious when you get down there, the old man should be able to finish you off." Sakaki turned around and started to walk towards Haley. However, before he could take another step, he heard the elevator crash at the bottom and the guy yell. The yell sounded like it was coming farther and farther up towards their level. Sakaki turned around slowly in disbelief. "There's no way," he muttered. The sound kept coming up and eventually the guy came and popped up, gasping.

"You can't get rid of me that easily! I am a master too you know!" the guy yelled. Sakaki got back into an offensive position.

"Then show me something that'll at least kill my boredom, let alone me," Sakaki said. The guy growled and jumped towards Sakaki. Sakaki dodged his first attack and brought up a quick leg and kicked the guy in the jaw. The guy flew through a wall next to the hole that used to be the elevator. He got up quickly and once more ran at Sakaki. "Don't you ever learn?" Sakaki said. The guy once more sent a fist at Sakaki, but before Sakaki could think to dodge, the guy appeared behind him smirking.

"You should never turn your back on your opponent," the guy said. Sakaki's eyes grew wide and the guy kicked his back, sending Sakaki flying towards the elevator hole. "Now it's your turn to be sent flying!" Sakaki flew into the hole but gripped onto the metal as hard as he could. Granted it hurt his fingers a little, but it was worth it to stay alive. He jumped up and out of the hole back onto the floor. He growled low when he saw that the guy was picking Haley up and running back down the hallway. Worst of all, he wasn't even holding her gently. Her stomach was against his shoulder, which looked boney despite the amount of muscle that was on his arms.

"Haley," he whispered. His eyebrows narrowed down in anger. "Get your hands off of her you dumbass!" he yelled then, running after the guy. He ran as quick as he could and jumped kicked the guy's back, causing him to let go of Haley midair. The guy was sent flying into the labs at the end of the hallway shattering the glass. Meanwhile Sakaki caught Haley and he saw her wince as he accidentally touched the shoulder that was shot. "Sorry Haley. Just hang on a little while longer." Around the corner Sakaki heard voices. He cursed the timing. However when he saw who had come around the corner, he felt slight relief.

"Alright guys! Two more levels and we are free!" one of the older kids had said. They were leading a huge group of people varying from Sakaki's age all the way down to about three years old. Of course the older kids where carrying the younger ones that weren't as fast. They stopped at the end of the hallway where Sakaki had sent the guy flying to stare at Sakaki.

"Who are you?" Sakaki asked.

"We, we were going to ask you that!" the older kid that acted like the leader stuttered. She looked at Haley who was still in Sakaki's arms. Her eyes grew wide and she mouthed the number five.

"The name's Sakaki. I take it you know Haley?" Sakaki said.

"Haley is her real name? We only know her as number five," the girl said.

That's right. When Haley was here she was called only by a number. Hm, if this chick knows Haley then maybe I can trust her to get Haley out of here safely while I fight that guy. Sakaki thought.

"Can I ask a favor of you? Well, it's more for her," Sakaki said, nodding at Haley.

"What?"

"Get her out of here. I'll take care of the dumbass behind you while you get out of here. As far as I can tell, he's the only master in this building other than me and my friend," Sakaki said. The girl nodded and ran up to him, eyeing him carefully. For a brief moment, Sakaki lowered his ki so that the girl wouldn't pass out before she got to him. He handed over Haley to her and the rest of the group ran past him.

"What happened to the elevator?" the girl yelled.

"Yeah, sorry about that. There's another way out right?" Sakaki said over his shoulder.

"Not as far as I know! All I know is this elevator!" she yelled. Sakaki sighed and jumped up, punched the ceiling and pointed at the new hole once he landed.

"There's your new escape route," he said. Then he started to walk back down the hallway.

"How are we supposed to get up there?" she yelled.

"Figure it out! I'm sure you guys have had plenty of time to think of this kind of situation by now!" Sakaki yelled back. He heard glass breaking. "Looks like he's finally come out." Sakaki ran forward and started the fight once more.

"Just get her out of here now!" Sakaki yelled. He threw a punch at the guy, but this time the guy caught it and hurled Sakaki towards the labs. The guy began to run at the group of escapees and they started to scream.

"I won't let any of you escape!" he yelled.

"As if I'll let you harm them!" Sakaki yelled. He appeared in front of the guy and kicked him back. "I'm your opponent! You want them, you'll have to defeat me first!" Then he looked over his shoulder back at the escapees. "What are you waiting for? Use your heads and get out of here!" They nodded and the ones about his age ran into a nearby lab and took some of the tables and chairs that didn't swivel or glide around. They built them on top of each other and had the little ones start to go up first. Next was Haley.

While Sakaki was watching them, the guy took the opportunity to punch Sakaki in the gut. Sakaki didn't react. He just turned his head slowly back to the guy and smirked.

"Who said I ever lowered my guard?" Sakaki said. He took a deep breath and for an instant, his eyes almost turned into an evil red. The guy gulped and started to back away. "You're outmatched and now I'm going to show you why. To the full extent." Sakaki slowly walked towards the guy and stopped, with his extended hand just an inch away from the guy's stomach.

"What are you doing?" he stuttered.

"Pathetic. A karate master and you don't even know what this move is," Sakaki said. He scoffed and said," even my disciple knows this move to such an extent that he can use it himself." He brought back the hand slightly and then brought it back to the guy's stomach quickly, bending his hand so that he was hitting the guy more than once.

"You're finished. MOTIONLESS SAND CLOUD BOMB!" Sakaki yelled. The shockwave was sent through the guys body. However, this time he wasn't sent flying since that was the point of the technique. The guy fell down where he stood. Sakaki stared down at him with cold eyes, then he started to walk away. He heard a boom and the ground beneath him started to shake.

"What the hell are you doing old man?" Sakaki wondered out loud. He held out his hands to keep from falling over. Then suddenly he heard something crack behind him and he looked to see that it was the floor. The floor directly underneath Sakaki's passed out opponent was cracking. A second later it broke and the old man popped out from underneath, punching the unconscious bastard at the same time. He was carrying about three or four little kids in one of his arms and a few more clung to his back and shoulders. Sakaki blinked twice in disbelief.

"Don't just stand there Shio! This place is about to blow up!" the old man said, smiling like he was proud of himself.

"You're one crazy old man you know that?" he said.

"What was that?" he said.

"Oh nothing. Just talking to myself I guess," Sakaki said, shaking his head. However he did agree with the old man that they should get out of there as fast as possible. They both jumped up and broke through the ceiling. When they got to the next and top most floor Sakaki felt a little relieved when he saw that there wasn't a trace of any of the escapees. They ran outside and found them all just standing there watching the entrance with scared eyes. When Sakaki and the old man appeared all of their eyes turned happy and hopeful.

"Don't just stand here! This place is about to explode! Run!" the old man yelled.

"I'll take Haley now so you can actually run faster," Sakaki said. As they ran the leader chick gave Haley to Sakaki and they all ran as fast as they could. "Hey old man Furinji! How long do we got until she blows?"

"I'd say about a minute or so. I took into account that we have to run with ones who are not fast runners. Well, not as fast as we are anyway," the old man said. Sakaki nodded. They all heard that and picked up their pace. Within a minute they felt the heat of the explosion behind them, sending them all but Sakaki and the old man, along with Haley whom Sakaki was holding, to fly forward from the impact of the blast. Thankfully though everyone was far enough away where they weren't hurt by the blast, just its shockwaves and slight waves of heat.

Sakaki looked at them all as they quickly stood up.

"It's sad to think about how much these kids have had to endure to be able to just brush something like a blast like that off," the old man said.

"Yeah, but their free now. You think we'll have to find their families now?" Sakaki said. The old man nodded.

"It's the least life owes these children, even the fully grown ones," he said. He eyed Haley. "Why don't you get her home? I'll lead the rest of these ones to the dojo on my own. Or if you want you can send Apachai. He's especially good with little kids so he can help me carry them. From there we'll figure out where each of them belong." Sakaki nodded.

"Sounds good. I'll try to be quick. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone," Sakaki said, smirking. The old man laughed.

"You too, Shio!" he said, still laughing. Sakaki jumped up to a nearby tree branch and went ahead as quick as he could.

He reached the dojo within a few minutes. When he got there he had Akisame examine Haley. He took out the bullet, cleaned up the wound, and put an oxygen mask on her just to be safe. As soon as he felt he could leave her in Akisame's care, he went to find Apachai and told him to go help the old man. Apachai left in a rush, eager to meet new little children. Sakaki turned so that he was facing Akisame's clinic.

"Welcome home, Haley," he said, smiling happily.
