Chapter 32

~Flashback~

"Mommy! Daddy! Look what I can do," a little girl with short black hair came running into the house.

It was a quaint little cottage located near the edge of Fire Country, bordering Rain Country. It sat on the bank of a rushing river, not far from the local village.

"What is it now sweetie?" a woman's tired voice answered.

"I can make a star!" the girl replied excitedly. "Lookie!"

She squinted her eyes and concentrated on her open hands in front of her. Almost a full minute later, there was a small ball of flames floating on top of her two hands. She had a big smile on her tiny face, although the look on her mother's face wasn't one of happiness.

Two days later, the woman and her husband left the little girl in the forest, all alone and never looked back again.

(Saiya POV; Present Day)

"How did you survive?" Kakashi asked quietly.

"Somehow I wandered into Konoha, and was taken in by an orphanage," I said, shrugging my shoulders. "They saw my abilities and enrolled me into the ninja academy. After that, I wasn't their problem anymore. And now I'm here."

"Are you scared that I'll leave you?" Kakashi said quietly.

"Not anymore," I said simply.

I could see Kakashi smile under his mask.

"So! Where and when should we have our wedding?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Just a small ceremony, as soon as possible," Kakashi replied.

"I want Zina there," I said at once.

"Just Zina," Kakashi said warningly.

"Who would you like to be there?" I ignored his previous statement.

He sat in contemplation for a few moments, and then stated, "Naruto."

"Next week?"

"I was hoping for tomorrow…"

"Well, Zina is my best friend; and I'm willing to give her a week to show up. No more than that."

"That seems fair."

I smiled big; I was getting married, and I was going to be a mom. Right now, life couldn't be better.

On the day of the ceremony, Zina still had not shown up. Naruto was going to meet us at the office to witness the "ceremony." Kakashi and I were just going to sign a marriage license; we wanted to keep this under wraps as much as possible to protect our baby from any enemies we may have made throughout our lives.

"I guess she isn't showing up," I sighed as I got dressed.

"Don't worry; she will show up," Kakashi insisted.

"How do you know that?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Instinct."

I turned to look at myself in the mirror one last time. I wasn't too fancy; I wore a simple white dress that went all the way to the ground and matching sandals. I wore a black sweater over the top.

Kakashi took my hand and we walked together to the County Clerk's office to obtain our license.

Once we entered the office, Naruto and Zina surprised us.

"Saiya!" Zina exclaimed! "I can't believe you're getting married!"

"Zina! What are you doing here?!" I yelped with surprise; I hadn't seen her. How did she figure out our plans?

"I ran into her the other day on my mission, and I thought I'd invite her myself," Kakashi said with a slight smugness in his voice.

"Saiya, your fiancé is a smart man," Zina nodded her head in his direction.

"I know," I smiled at him.

Naruto stood to the side, looking a little bit awkward about the whole situation.

"Uhm, Sensei, why am I here?" Naruto questioned.

"Well Naruto, you are the closest thing I have to a family," Kakashi said in his usual bored voice.

"Really?" Naruto's face lit up.

"No, we just needed another witness."

Naruto's face fell and retreated into an aura of sadness.

"Kakashi, that wasn't nice," I replied, and walked over to Naruto. "Naruto, we want you here because we want you to be one of the very few people who know about this. You can't tell anyone; not even Sakura or Lord Hokage. Can you keep our secret?"

Naruto's face now held a look of determination, "Yes I can! And I will protect yours and Sensei's child with my life!"

"That's the spirit," I said lightly and gave Naruto a soft kiss on his forehead. "And, with the greatest honor, we humbly ask you to be our child's godfather," and I turned to Zina, "and for you to be the godmother."

"OHMYGODSAIYAYESIACCEPTYESYESYES!" she said all in one breath.

"Yes!" Naruto exclaimed.

After that, Kakashi and I made our vows and signed the certificate. Naruto went his way after the ceremony and Zina had to leave as well.

"I'll visit Saiya I promise," Zina said, hugging me tightly.

"You better," I sniffled slightly.

"Enjoy the honeymoon," Zina winked at us and disappeared.

Kakashi took his hand in mine and we walked home together; to our home.
