Lux awoke groggily. Everything around her seemed to be spinning and shiny. So shiny. She tried to sit up in the huge and comfortable bed she was in but it just made everything sway more. Sighing, she held her head and continued to try and get up until a pair of hands gently pushed her back down and into the bed. She didn't fight them, she was too tired and was secretly relieved to lay back down. A few seconds later, the person's laugh met her ears. It sounded so familiar. Where had she heard that laugh before? The big hands again tucked her back in and she looked up. All she could make out were blue eyes. The bluest eyes she had ever seen, well, except for Nash Grier of course, but she meant in real life.

"What?" she asked, confused. It came out in somewhat of a groan. She saw the man's mouth move and the sound was belated. She could barely make out his words. It felt like everything around her was under water. "What?" She repeated. "Where's Lily?"

There was a moment of silence before the young man gently tucked Lux in. She thrashed a little, but her lungs hurt, her body was sore. She looked up and remembered who the man was. "You! Y-you're Damon!" She bolted out of bed, ignoring her screaming muscles and ragged breathing.

"Yes," Damon said whilst holding his hands out to her as if to show her that he meant no harm. She scampered backwards on her hands and knees into the corner of his bedroom. It smelt like cologne, liquor, and Damon's natural scent of bitter mint and honey. She felt vibrations from the floor below her. "Come on now, I won't hurt you."

"What makes you think that I'd believe you?" She pushed and edged towards the door. Someone alive was downstairs. He saw her flickering glance towards the door and in one second he was in front of her then blocking the door. She yelped in surprise and dove back into the bed. Her head was spinning and she was delirious. Lux covered her head with the thick blanket, thinking that since she felt safer under the blankets she was safer under the blankets.

That didn't last for long.

"What do you think you're doing?" Damon asked as he opened the duvet. He peered down curiously at the little girl before him. She was curled into a ball and was hugging his pillow. She looked up at him again, struggling to keep her eyes open. her fatigue and sore limbs were keeping her down. Looking up, she told herself to not be scared of Damon. If he wanted her dead she would have already been dead.

"Damon?" She murmured as her consciousness ebbed. Her hand inched forward and her legs uncurled a little. Lux's curls cascaded over the other side of the pillow and the blanket was once again pulled over her. Her clothes were semi-scorched and uncomfortable now.

"Yes?" He replied bemusedly. Seeing her lay there, defenseless and all alone made him compare her with himself again. She had just lost her parents that year, her other sibling was in a coma, and she was just threatened by that gold eyed and sharp teeth girl before. He ran his fingers tenderly almost over the kinks and rolls of her hair. It was so soft.

Staring at her tiny hands, he almost didn't catch her next words. "Can I borrow a long shirt?" He laughed at this yet complied. She motioned for him to turn around and he did. But not without an eye roll, of course. She changed into his shirt and kicked her skirt over the side of the burgundy color bed, halfheartedly throwing her tank over too. She cuddled into the pillow again and was finally pulled under sleep.

Stefan was furious. Understandably so too.

He had just heard Vicki's scream when he also picked up on another close by. Following it, he found Lux feebly crawling towards the outer ring of smoke free air. Elena followed him, and unbeknownst to either of them, there was Damon in the shadows. He couldn't just take her like that! Stefan had had her, was going to make sure she was okay before his brother just had to swoop in.

Now he was heading back to the Boarding House, ready to confront Damon. His anger was almost wild but he kept it in check. Lux needed rest, protection, and she needed to learn to control whatever gift she had. And soon. Stefan could see that now. Without the proper guidance she could seriously harm herself and others. But he had never heard of someone with such powers before. He'd definitely have to study up.

Climbing the stairs four at a time with a little burst of vampire speed, he reached Damon's door. Not bothering to wait for a response he barged in. He was met with a sleeping Lux in the bed wearing Damon's shirt and a sleeping Damon in the chair beside her. He stopped for a second in shock. Damon was holding Lux's hand in his own, engulfing much of her fingers and palm with his larger one. His head bent forward, his black hair flopped in his face while he was sleeping. He seemed peaceful, and not vengeful at least. That was a first for a long, long time.

Stefan didn't have it in him at the moment to quite care enough though. He gruffly shoved Damon which in turn made him shoot awake in surprise. Damon's hand squeezed Lux's hard, and in her sleep she gasped in pain. Quickly, he smoothed her hair back again before looking at his younger brother Stefan. He prayed he wouldn't notice, but of course he did. The thing was, that Stefan always notices. But he chose to say nothing about that. Yet.

"Why did you take her?" He whisper shouted, hoping to not wake Lux up. His grey veins popped up for a second and his eyes turned red. Bring yourself under control, he reminded himself for the third time in as many minutes. His eyes slowly returned to normal and he unclenched his fists with difficulty. HE wanted nothing more than to reach out to Lux and take her as far away from Damon as he could. His eyes widened as he noticed a blood smear across her face.

"Well, see brother," Damon began with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders and a classic eye roll. "She was going to die if she waited around there any longer. So I took her, fed her my blood, and presto!" He pointed at Lux with a jab of his fingers. "She's alive!" Damon laughed but Stefan did not.

"You what?" Stefan asked with disbelief coloring his tone, face going red with new found anger. He had heard what Damon had said, but had he really fed her his blood? Stefan was suddenly relieved that he'd chosen to find Lux first than choosing to make sure Elena was okay. Damon could have killed her, and with his blood in her veins she would have been turned. Lux already had a hard time showing emotions to everyone else, shutting them off when it became too much, how would she cope as a vampire? She'd just shut off her emotions. Flip the switch. Lux couldn't stand hurting others.

"Well, baby brother," Damon said spitefully. "I fed her my blood. That's when a vampire opens up his wrist and feeds a lesser human so they won't die. It's the only damn reason she's even looking this well." He grandly gestured with a sweeping and slightly (strike that, majorly) mocking sway of his hands. He sat down on the edge of his bed and started to unconsciously stroke Lux's hair. Stefan noticed this and was surprised. His eyes widened slightly, almost imperceptibly, and Damon (being the stubborn, angry Damon he was) took it as a challenge.

The two Salvatore brothers collided together again and made a mess of Damon's room. Stefan and Damon were holding on to each other's arms like vices. Trying to out last the other, they pushed even harder. Stefan let loose a growl to show Damon he wasn't happy with his decision of healing Lux without a proper supervisor like himself around to make sure she didn't die. And Damon growled back in response, showing that he didn't care and wasn't about to let his younger brother win.

"Stop it!" Someone yelled. The brothers' heads swiveled around and stared at the girl in Damon's bed. Stefan groaned inwardly, it just sounded so wrong when he thought about it like that.

Lux groaned and cradled her head in her hands. Stefan immediately pushed Damon away, finding it easy seeing as Damon had long ago stepped away and was then sauntering out of the room. He flashed Stefan a sarcastic and bitter smile before closing the door though. He couldn't help it. Stefan looked back from his position on Damon's bed. He held Lux's small hands in his own large ones as if to make sure she was actually there. He sighed in relief as he smelt her tantalizing blood move in her veins. Stefan grew worried as Lux groaned again and sagged against his frame for support.

"What?" He asked urgently, cupping her round face in his hands. "What hurts?" Lux started to laugh. This only furthered his worry and his feeling of protectiveness. Lux let out another peel pf laughter as she compared Stefan to her father. She continued to laugh until her eyes started to water and then she couldn't stop crying. Her shoulders heaved.

"My head," She whined. He was gone in a flash and back in another. In his hands were a glass of water and Advil. "Thank you." She took the water and set aside. Stefan looked at her oddly as she swallowed the three pills one at a time. She looked up and met his quizzical gaze. "Never drank it with water when I was little, not starting now." She laughed again before going on, "It was always like a test. See if I actually could swallow them without water." Stefan kind of snorted and looked away embarrassed as Lux raised an eyebrow at him.

Stefan sat down with her again. "What happened, LuLu?" He placed his hand on her shoulder cautiously.

"What? So I'm LuLu now?" She smiled affectionately at him. "I love it." Stefan sighed as he realized she was trying to change the subject. Lux finally caved in and told him. "So I might have maybe been, possibly, eavesdropping on your conversation with Elena." She backed away as if he was going to be mad at her but he just smiled. "I know you were."

"Okay, good." So he wasn't mad, that made the story easier for her to tell. "And so I wasn't paying attention to where I was going exactly and I found this little clearing." Stefan tensed up, that was where they'd found her. "So I heard this twig ominously crack. Creepy, like those cliche horror movies." Silence punctured by her nervous laugh. "And I knew someone was there and when she came out she looked normal enough." Lux's breath came out in a rattle as she went on. "The gold eyes were kind of weird but I thought, whatever. Seen weirder in Portland. And then she opened her mouth." She paused and sucked in more oxygen. Stefan grasped her hand as if to support her. The tiny girl smiled gratefully. "And her teeth were sharp. All of them. They looked like shark teeth, and she told me she wanted me. She said come with her and there'd be no pain."

There was a silence in the room for a second. Lux rushed out the rest, not wanting to remember the smell of burning hair and flesh. Of STG's shrieks filling the air at the same time of Vicki's. "And I protected myself by burning her when she came for me. She gave me no choice. A-And I-I accidentally burned her-r alive." She looked down at her hands in shock, as if seeing them for the first time. They murdered someone. It might not have been on purpose and it might have been in self preservation, but someone didn't have any more opportunities to make choices.

Oh gosh, what have I done? Would God forgive me for killing someone?

Stefan held his LuLu close and shhhd her. She was okay, she wasn't a monster he tried to tell her with that hug. Eventually Lux fell off to sleep again to the comfortable feeling of his chin resting on her head.

Stefan tucked her in, wanting to trust Damon with the precious bundle in his arms. He couldn't explain it, but he felt like he had to protect Lux. Time to check in on Elena.

The wind was cold and biting as a lone figure absentmindedly wandered from side to side of the street. The moon was out, shining down on his back. Making his bronze hair look like liquid silver. He looked like an apparition, specter, phantom; or more likely, a vampire. Blowing out another breath and seeing a cloud of steam appear, he walked up to the Gilbert house and knocked quietly. Using his abnormal hearing, he heard shuffling inside as someone with soft footsteps approached the door.

Elena opened the door and her eyes widened. It was Stefan. He smiled up at her from his place on her porch. She fought back a gasp, he looked so ethereal in the moonlight, even beautiful. Stefan's breathing hitched for a second, Elena looked angelic. Her hair shone on the pale light and her eyes sparkled when she smiled at him, making him want to be there, to be the reason she smiled, everyday.

"I know it's late. But, uh..., " Stefan started and then cleared his throat. His eyes scrunched up a little as if frustrated with himself and he peered at her. "I needed to know that you were okay." He said bluntly, inspecting her intensely as he said that. She blushed and turned away for a second, realizing that she was in her pajamas and her hair was a mess. She tried to flatten it down a bit to no prevail.

"You know, for months, that's all anyone's wondered about me. If I'll be okay, " Elena said. Her eyes hurt from crying so much. All she wanted to know was if Lux was okay. She wanted her parents back. She wanted to be normal, feel normal again. And Stefan was normal, she thought. How wrong she was.

"What do you tell them?" Stefan asks, surprising her. He looked at her as if understanding what she was going to say. Stefan had his hands in his pockets, thinking both about Elena and how he was going to bring Lux back into the picture without having a suspicious Elena.

Elena smiled warmly down at him, but it was a broken smile. "Ask me tomorrow," she whispered looking away into the cold night whilst rubbing her arms for warmth. "It's warmer in the house. We can talk," Elena said whilemoving away for Stefan to walk through the door. "Would you like to come in?"

Stefan sighed and put one foot across the threshold. It felt great to be invited in to a house, having the person trust you, want to talk to you. He closed his eyes for a second soaking in the feeling. Then he looked at Elena, showing off his beautiful green eyes. His smile was boyish as he gazed at her.

"Yes," He said at last as he put the other foot in the house.

He had been invited in.

Damon paced on the rug outside of his bedroom. What was happening? Everything was getting out of control. Something that morning had clicked, and it was annoyance towards his brother. No usually this wouldn't mean anything his brother annoyed him on a regular basis. But the thing that made this all too real was that he was annoyed because his brother had walked in on him with Lux. They hadn't even been doing anything bad, if you know what he means. But he had felt safe with her which was pure irony seeing as he was the one that had saved her.

He he ran his hand briskly through his unkept hair for perhaps the hundredth time that hour whilst sharply turning on his heel. This was spiraling fast. He might have to flip the switch again if it continued like this. A shuffling noise from behind the closed door was brought to Damon's attention. Like a moth drawn to the flame, he gravitated to the door and before he knew what he was doing his right foot had already crossed the line. Damon almost had to physically make his left foot stop from walking completely in. And even then, it only hesitated.

"Do you have any other clothes?" Lux asked as she trailed around his room gracefully. Then she tripped on the rug and stopped herself from falling by clumsily grabbing the dresser. Coughing, she lifted her bruised arm to brush away her unruly curls. Damon watched her from the opposite end if the room, not wanting to be too close to her.

She pulled at a drawer and scavenged through the clothes, pulling them all out. Looking at the disarray she's caused she frowned and pulled out the last shirt from the drawer. Pulling it up to her body, she looked in the mirror gauging if it were going to fit her. It went past her hips by quite a few inches. Sighing, she turned around. It was too big. Damon gazed curiously at her.

"And when I say other clothes," Lux said casting him a look over her shoulder. "I mean clothes that might actually fit me, please and thank you." With her arms crossed she turned away and lounged on a nearby chair. She then moved over to the bed and then commenced to pounce on it.

"Someone's feeling a little feisty today," Damon smirked only to be met with a very Damon-esque eye roll and hurumph from the small figure in the enormous bed. It was funny to see, and Damon couldn't help but laugh at her. She glared at him, knowing exactly what it was that he found funny. Everyone that met her poked fun at her height at least once.

Damon, seeing that he had struck a chord, used his extra speed to run out of the room, out of the house, and on to the main streets in Mystic Falls. He frowned, worried about what his next actions meant to him. He walked into one of the numerous street side stores and picked up a basic floral top, sweater, and skirt. That should do. In a moment, he was paying, out the door, in the Salvatore Boarding House, and in Lux's room again.

She gasped, surprised at his sudden appearance. He dumped the clothes unceremoniously on her and she backed away. Looking closer, she picked at them. Damon turned around expecting nothing more. "Thank you," Lux said. Damon halted in his steps. He turned around with an eyebrow raised, only to be met with a sincere smile. It lit up her tan face, making her eyes crinkle. Seeing this, he smirked back and tried to get that bounce out of his step.

He'd made her smile.

Lux tugged on the shirt Damon had got her. It was a freaking crop top. The sweater only minimally made it better, in helping her cover herself. The skirt draped against her legs and flattered her large hips and small waist. She grumbled one last time about the shirt and with a final tug at her curls she slithered out of the room. when she saw the one and only Damon standing outside her door like a body guard she rolled her eyes. He was looking at her as if she was a meal, which technically she could be. She wasn't that fragile to not be able to defend herself. Was she?

Stefan walked up the stairs and smiled at Lux. She grinned warmly before throwing her arms around Stefan, he chuckled and swung her around and on to his back. She laughed and brushed Stefan's hair back while poking his cheeks. "Hey Stefano!"

"Hey LuLu," Stefan said politely, turning his head to look over his shoulder at her. "You seem better today," he noted. Out if the corner of his eye he saw Damon slink away into his room. What was he going to do now?

"Yep that blood must have finally kicked in," she play whispered. Stefan started to walk down the stairs with Lux still draped on his back. "Am I going home today?" Stefan looked at her and nodded yes. Lux replied with a squeal. "Finally! no offense Stefan, I love you, love the house, but your brother was, at times, sarcastic and overbearing. Tell him thank you for the clothes, by the way." Stefan laughed at her hyper rant.

"Okay, I will." Lux kissed the top of Stefan's head suddenly. He looked back at her and noticed her head snuggled against his neck. "You're the best Stefan, if I had a brother I'd want him to be just like you." Stefan turned around, his eyes watering just a little. Lux was like a little sister to him now, part of his family. He had a family.

"Thank you LuLu," he said snuffling. "Let's get you back to Elena now." He heard a hum and he switched Lux into a bridal hold. As they walked down the streets of Mystic Falls in the clear, cutting pale sun light they got a few odd glances.

When they finally reached the Gilbert house, Stefan knocked on the door quickly. Elena came to the door within seconds and she tried to smile at Stefan but her eyes were red and puffy still from further crying for Lux. That is, until she spotted Lux standing next to Stefan. Then there was a scream and Lux sheepishly smiled at Elena. Elena wrapped her long arms around Lux, nearly suffocating her.

"So I'm glad you're glad to see me, but I'd like to be able to breathe." Luck teased playfully punching Elena on the shoulder. Elena pulled back but kept her hands on Lux's shoulders, and then started to motherly check over Lux for any cuts or bruises. There was none to be seen thanks to Damon.

"I'm so glad you're here! Where were you? Never mind, that doesn't matter, I'm just happy you're actually here," Elena beamed, ruffling Lux's hair To which Lux tutted her. Elena laughed. "Thanks for bringing her over or whatever Stefan. Really." Stefan smiled and the two lovebirds got lost in each other's eyes. Lux snorted and glanced bemusedly between the two. This was a romance novel taking place in front of her. They were adorable, maybe even Everlark or Fourtris adorable.

"See ya Stefan," Lux said as the two finally broke eye concentration, thoroughly done staring and now blushing. He left with a smile and Lux was then bustled unto the kitchen where Aunt Jenna hugged her tightly. She was obviously mid-getting ready for something. Jenna wanted to ask Lux where'd she'd been but she'd done some stupid things in high school too. Like dating Logan Fell. She just hoped it wasn't anything too bad.

"Do I look like an adult? As in respectively parental?" Jenna asked the two girls hurriedly. They looked her up and down noticing her business attire.

"Depends on where you're going," Elena deduced. Lux nodded her head in agreement. Jenna sighed and ran her hand through her hair. "Jeremy's parent teacher conference. Hair up or down?"

Lux looked her over quickly, "Show me your hair up." Jenna did as she was told, sweeping her hair in a bun at the nape of her neck. "Sexy stewardess."

Elena stroked her chin as if in deep thought, "And now hair down." Jenna let her hair tumble down her shoulders. "Boozy housewife." Lux cut in with a, "No, crazy and boozy cat lady of thirty."

Jenna harumphed. "Up it is," she nodded her head. "You're feisty today," she directed at Elena used to Lux's daily sass.

"What am I, chopped liver?" Lux said playfully. She groaned and trudged up the stairs to change her shirt.

"I feel good, which is rare. So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk on the sunshine, and all that stuff. Where is Jeremy?" Elena asked, realizing he wasn't around. Jenna replied while looking in the mirror, "He left early. Something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse." Jenna paused. Lux came down and started laughing at what she just said. "There is no wood shop, is there?"

"Nope!" Lux sing-songed. Elena sighed again. "Let's head to school." Elena picked up her keys and they were out the door, ready for the day. When they got into their history class the bell rang and they slid into their respective seats. Lux rolled her eyes again, seeing Stefan and Elena make moon eyes.

"Originally discovered nearly five centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?" Mr. Tanner asked, breaking the couple to be out of there trance. They looked away, blushing before the bell rang, signaling the end of class.

Lux walked out of the class and into the hallways, using the wind to make Elena and Stefan's words float to her. He was letting her keep one of his books. Sweet, every couple should connect over a favorite book, Lux thought. Books were important to her, they were her babies.

Lux walked up to Caroline and Bonnie, and the latter smiled at her. Caroline was still embarrassed for talking to Lux in a snotty way, and for thinking she was a freshmen in school. Lux had long since pushed that behind her. "Hey Bon Bon!" She hugged Bonnie tightly and to the surprise of Caroline, threw her arms over Caroline next. "Nice to see you CareBear." Lux giggled and Caroline laughed too. She was glad that Lux wasn't mad at her, she was quickly getting along with everyone at school and being mean to her wouldn't be such a great idea for popularity, or for her friendship with Elena. Anyways, Lux was forgiving. That was a good trait in a friend.

"I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline asked, leaning against a nearby locker, her blonde hair swept over a shoulder.

"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something." Bonnie rolled her eyes. "Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so I kinda tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so." Lux kept her laughter in check, if they only knew.

"Yeah, well, feel free to conjure up the name and number of that guy from last night." Lux laughed at Caroline. "What hot guy? Was he at the party?"

"No, but he had black hair, a rocking bod, and the bluest eyes ever," Caroline gushed to Lux. Lux hid her frown well. It seemed Damon hadn't been guarding her all night then.

"Why didn't you ask him for his number?" Lux asked. Caroline was beginning to warm up to her. Caroline laughed and shrugged innocently, "I don't know. I was drunk!" They laughed and headed to math.

After school that day, Elena drove home but Lux decided to walk home with Caroline. "Hey! Caroline, wait up." Caroline stopped and turned around curiously. When she saw it was Lux she was pleasantly surprised. As they walked along, they gabbed and Lux found out everything about everyone in Mystic Falls. Caroline was quite a talker.

"Yeah, so apparently Vicki thinks that whatever attacked her was a vampire." Caroline scoffed. Lux's steps faltered for a millisecond, but Caroline didn't notice. They were at Caroline's house. It had been a lonely thing ever since her parents got a divorce, her dad away and her mom always at work. Lux almost ran into the fence as she saw clips rush past her vision. Of a little blonde girl holding her mom and dad's hands, then of the little girl watching her dad leave with his boyfriend. Then the lonely moments of her being by herself and her mom ignoring her. That was Caroline. She looked up at Caroline and suddenly understood. "Do you want to come in? I'm going to the Mystic Grill and need an opinion on my outfit." Caroline asked.

Lux felt the taller girl's desperation for company and smiled, "I'd love to."

When Caroline was ready, they headed to the Grill. They met up with Bonnie and Elena. The latter two were surprised to Lux with Caroline. They slid into the booth and they all ordered lemonades. The Grill was pretty empty that day. Lux layer her bag on the side of the bench. She asked the waiter for a child's menu and he got her one with crayons.

"What are you doing?" Bonnie asked laughing. "Drawing, of course. I thought even you could see that Bon Bon." Lux teased giving her a wry grin. The waiter came back and Elena looked at him awkwardly.

"Wait!" Lux called to the waiter. "You look familiar, are you Matt Donivan?" He smiled at her. "Yeah, but I can't recall your name," he confessed looking thoroughly embarrassed. "Lux James, sophomore despite height, legal cousin to Elena Gilbert." His face turned pink. "Aww," Luc cooed. "You're such a sweetie."

He he left with the excuse that he needed to help another table. Caroline started laughing after he left. "I don't think he thought you were in high school at all!" Lux laughed too, and soon Elena and Bonnie joined in.

"So anything new gurlies?" Lux asked whilst sipping at her lemonade after giving Matt a smile making him blush embarrassedly once again.

"Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity," Bonnie piped in.

"Yeah," Caroline snidely rolled her eyes. "And then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens. So then what?" Caroline directed the last question towards Elena, making it clear it concerned what happened between Stefan and Elena at the party the other night.

"So then nothing," Elena said decidedly.

"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy feely of any kind?" Caroline pressed, drinking her lemonade and sucking on the ice. "Nope, we didn't go there," Elena confessed.

"Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we are your friends. Ok? You are supposed to share the smut." Bonnie sighed in mild annoyance. "We just talked for hours." Elena said again.

"Okay, what is with the blockage?" Caroline burst out. "Just jump his bones already! Ok, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!" Lux squirmed, uncomfortable with the conversation, she'd never done it. Never wanted to, until after she was married that is.

"Profound," Elena said sarcasm dripping in her voice. She got up abruptly. "Where are you going?" Lux called after. "Caroline's right. It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying what I was going to do." And with that, Elena walked out of the room with confidence in stride.

That night, the residents of the Gilbert house had tacos for dinner. They weren't as good as Lux's mom's had been, the girl realized. But maybe that was because her mom always used to make her a enchilada sauce to put with it too. She missed her mom. Elena was telling her and Aunt Jenna what had happened at the Salvatore Boarding House.

"It was weird, Damon, Stefan's brother very kind. But then he mentioned that Stefan was on the rebound and they obviously have family problems." Elena sighed. It had been so weird. Lux left as Elena continued to talk to Jenna. She didn't want to have to pretend that she didn't know Damon. She walked into Jeremy's too to find him laying on his bed. With a huff, she fell on to his duvet next to him.

"What's on your mind Jer?" She asked. He turned to face her with one arm propping his face. "I can tell there's something bothering you."

Jeremu sighed, he didn't want to really talk about it. But then again, if he didn't he would probably do something stupid. "It's just that, Vicki is all about Tyler. Only thing is that Tyler only sees her as an object, not a person. And I see her as a person, you know?" he closed his eyes and rolled back over. "I could treat her way better."

Lux closed her eyes and exhaled deeply. "I'm sure you could treat her way better Jer. Why don't you try and show her what a great friend you could be for her, let her figure out the rest?" She suggested. She looked over to Jeremy to see him smiling at her. "Thanks," he said. Lux got up and left his room, "Your welcome Jer. Anytime. Sleep tight, don't let the vampires bite," she giggled as she closed the door. Jeremy rolled his eyes at her, she was so childish sometimes.

As Lux opened her door, she saw an unfamiliar shadow at her window. She got up closer, but it disappeared into the night before she could see it properly. She shrugged and poked her head out a little more. That was when a pair of strong hands grabbed her by her shoulders and dragged her from her room and on to the roof. She struggled but soon they were going at A terrifying speed. She gasped, a vampire. As they stopped, she came to her senses and realized they were on the roof of the old Grill. Hearing a laugh, a deep and throaty chuckle, she looked around for the source. There, against the side of the door on the roof to the actual Grill, was the cocky and arrogant Damon Salvatore.

"What am I doing here Damon?" Lux asked exasperatedly. She knew Damon wouldn't her her. He was a vampire, wasn't a good one either, but somehow she thought he'd be gentle with her.

"Oh, just posing as a hostage." He smiled cruelly at her in the night. His eyes glittered with frighteningly clear intentions. She took a step back only to find him right in front of her in a second. She wasn't quite as sure if he wasn't going to hurt her anymore. "Now, don't move, don't scream." She found herself unable to do anything as he got closer and closer. He smelled like the bitter mint and honey, the smell she had grown a costumed to. Elena was roses and campfire. Jeremy was also a campfire but he was also sage. Caroline was lavender and tree sap. Bonnie was something burning mixed with lilac. Lux couldn't imagine any of these people hurting her, yet Damon's mouth came closer and closer to her neck. "This won't hurt a bit." She passed out moments later from blood loss.

Damon was a lying bastard. It hurt like a bitch.
