Chapter38 (Saiya's POV)
It was Orochimaru, but not the one we had seen over three years ago. His body was falling apart; bandages covered over half of his face and his skin was the color of ash. To his left, stood a couple of sound ninja; both broad shouldered and faces covered. On his right hand side, stood Kabuto and Sasuke.
"Damn it, I was hoping we wouldn't see him," I muttered to myself.
"It was bound to happen," Kakashi murmured quietly.
I looked at Sasuke, and he resembled Itachi in almost every way; cold, heartless eyes, pale skin, and dark eyes.
This was not good. I looked toward Sakura and Naruto and each one of them held very different facial expressions. Naruto's face was devoid of any emotion but his eyes were ablaze with fury. Sakura's eyes were shining with tears but I saw her fight her hardest to keep them at bay.
Orochimaru stepped away from his bodyguards and shuffled over toward us. He stopped in front of me and looked down.
"I knew you would come," he said in an eerily happy voice and stroked my cheek gently.
"Where is she?" I asked as calmly as I could, ignoring his actions.
"Aren't you angry? Furious that she was taken from you; furious at me for taking what should have been mine!" he yelled the last part. "She would have been mine! She should be mine!"
"You give us back our daughter!" I yelled; thoughts of the things that could happen to her ran through my head. I fought to hold back the anguish that wrenched at my heart.
"You know," he disappeared and reappeared behind me. "You have become more beautiful than before."
"Stay away from my wife," Kakashi growled threateningly.
Orochimaru turned to him and spoke, "Even the strongest of dogs are no longer frightening once they are behind bars."
He snapped his fingers and a trap door opened beneath Kakashi, causing him to fall. The doors slid shut and he was gone.
"I have a proposal for you Saiya," Orochimaru said silkily, then turned to Kabuto. "Bring her out."
Kabuto disappeared and reappeared moments later carrying a bound and gagged Ayome. She was crying and when she saw us, she started struggling.
"Honey, sweetie, its okay; don't struggle honey," I said, my voice cracking. "Mommy is gonna take care of everything."
"So, about my proposal," Orochimaru was back behind me, his lips in my ear.
"God, you don't have to yell," I jerked my head away.
He pulled away and smiled, "Your…husband, and team and daughter can all go home, as long as you stay here, with me."
"No! You can't do that Saiya! Sensei would be devastated," Sakura nearly shouted.
"Sakura!" I silenced her immediately, and then turned to face Orochimaru. "Fine, I accept."
"NO! Saiya you can't!" Naruto yelled.
"Naruto!" I snapped. "If it means saving everyone else, then yes, I'll stay."
I stood my ground.
"Very well then," Orochimaru chuckled ominously. "Sasuke, finish the rest of them."
