Chapter 39 (Saiya's POV)

"No."

The silence that followed was deafening. I could hear the sound of my beating heart, and I'm sure everyone else could too.

"What did you say?" Orochimaru hissed.

"No, I'm not your toy anymore," Sasuke smirked. "I'm not stupid you know."

And with that, Sasuke turned his back on everyone and walked away.

"Sasuke! Wait! You can help us!" Sakura's pleading voice rang throughout the hall.

He stopped for a moment, but ignored her plea for help and kept moving. I could tell that Sakura was devastated, but we didn't have time for that right now.

"Dammit," Orochimaru cursed but turned his attention back to us. "Right now, you are my first priority. And once you're mine, I won't need him anymore."

"I said yes already! Let them go!" the anguish making its way to my voice.

"Kabuto! You know what to do," Orochimaru's smile was lopsided. "I'm sure the nine-tails would make a perfect specimen for our collection."

I struggled against the bonds, but found out the hard way that they were the same ones he had used over three years ago. The more I struggled against them, the more they tightened. I sent a huge surge of chakra to my hands and pulled against the bonds one last time and finally broke free. I sprinted toward Kabuto and the others, pulling out a Kunai as I did. Ayome read my mind and began struggling as much as she could, which forced Kabuto to let her go and defend himself from my attack. I was relentless.

He substituted and disappeared.

"Ayome! Sweetheart, are you alright?" I dropped to my knees and pulled her into a tight hug.

"What happened to daddy?" she sobbed.

"Don't worry sweetie, he'll be okay," I whispered into her ear, comforting both her and myself.

Kabuto came reappeared at the moment with over 50 other sound ninja. I quickly stood up and stepped in front of Ayome.

"Sweetie, stay behind me okay?" I said softly.

"Yes, stay behind her," a voice came from behind me.

Kabuto had picked up Ayome again, but this time, held a knife to her throat.

"She is coming with me, as well as the others," Kabuto said with his signature smile. "Make one move toward me, and she dies."

Hatred bloomed inside of me. As he backed away slowly, the other sound nin slowly closed in, cutting off my path to Ayome and the others.

"You will regret the day you came into my life you worthless son of a bitch," I said in a deadly quiet voice. "All of you will die today. I promise you that."

A/N: I AM SO SORRY! I know it is so short but I have been having the worst writer's block in the history of my life! To be honest right now, I have a brilliant idea in my head for a Loki/Tom Hiddleston fanfiction, and I am currently talking to myself about it every free moment I have alone. Yes I did say talk to myself. I promise I will rewrite this chapter; I hate it too. But I haven't updated in forever, and I apologize for that. Next chapter will be posted tonight too I promise. Keep reading my lovelies.
