Chapter 19: Pein's a jerk

Ashley's P.O.V

"Now do you understand why I'm upset."

"Yes Pein-sama." I answered

"You and Raeden are the only responsible and sensible people out of you four-"

"Yes, Pein-sama, but-"

"No, Ashley, I expected better from you."

"Yes, Pein-sama."

"Good, now...get Raeden out of her room so we can start this meeting."

*sigh*"Yes, Pein-sama"

"Yes, Pein-sama." an annoying voice mocked me, "you sound like a broken tape recorder, hahaha!"

I turned and gave a sharp glare to the owner of the voice, Cobi. A look of relief washing over me.

"What, expecting someone else?" he taunted, eyebrows moving in a seductive manner, a knowing grin plastered on his smug face.

"Shut up." I deadpanned, grabbing onto the back hem of his shirt, "Let's go."

"Wait- what?!" He exclaimed while being dragged down the hall. Somehow (*cough* Cobi *cough*) we managed to gain attention from everyone in the base...who were supposed to be waiting with Pein-sama for me and Cobi to return with Raeden. Even Itachi was watching...oh gosh.

We arrived at Cobi and Raeden's shared room, opening the door to see Raeden's side of the room in complete chaos.

'And I thought Cobi was a pig...I kinda feel bad for judging him.'

Raeden must have gone to bed late, and as a result she trashed her side of the room in her sleep. I mean seriously, the girl was a mess! Her pillows her thrown here and there, blankets on the floor, sheets tangled in her legs, the upper half of her body was off the bed...or should I say on, because the mattress was hanging off with her. But I must admit-

"Her hair is still on point, how did she manage to pull that off?"

"One word: Deidara." Cobi answered moving towards Raeden's bed, twisting and turning every now and again, as not to trip.

"Ah...figures."

"Looks like Hurricane Katrina hit this place." He exaggerated scanning over the entire room. He probably felt the harsh stare I placed at the back of his neck(A/N: Peri-I like to aim for the neck cause it's less protected and does more damage at a faster and more efficient rate.), cause he immediately replied" Too much?"

"Far"

"Sorry, anyway to more pressing matters, how da fuq we gon' wake up dis biatch?!"

"Never do that again...please."

His shocked showed no boundaries, especially on his face )OoO(.

"Yes, I said please, it's in the past, move on and help me wake her up- Pein's waiting." He stared at me, "What?"

"Just Pein, no, Pein-sama?"

I just glared him as to say shut the fuck up. "Let's wake her up."

"Stand back, women, I got this." He walked up to Raeden, took a huge breath- I covered my ears waiting for this idiot- and he pokes her...what the-

"Cobi! Be serious! Now." I snarled

( "o3o ) "Sorry...hahaha" so he tries again, moving his face closer to her ear and screaming, "Hey! Hey, Raeden! Ugly! Fat! Short! Deidara-lover! Evil witch with no heart that doesn't seem to give a shit about what I'm saying and insults don't seem to affect her! ...Mother-Fucker!"

"Try singing." I added

"What, hows that going to help?" he deadpanned

"Well, I wouldn't be able to sleep if there was a banshee screaming in my ear."

"Rude."

"Whatever, you have a better idea? I'd like to get to the meeting before they send someone for us."

" Okay, okay...but what do I s-"

"Anything, just hurry up."

Even though I'm positive those aren't the lyrics, it worked, 'cause Raeden woke up in a roar of laughter. Her entire body was practically shaking...weirdo.

"Hahaha-ha, to *gasp* much!"

"I know, terrible, let's go!" I yelled, looking at my phone...we've been trying to wake up for hour and a half.

Dammit.

"Hey, Ash, I'm gonna go ahead of you and tell Pein you're on your way." Cobi said on his way out the door.

I looked over to him, "Thanks."

He just smiled and left the room. 'Wow, sometimes, Cobi can be a nice person.'

"Hurry up, Raeden-"

"But my hair is- oh never mind...how did-"

"Deidara"

"Wha-"

"Let's go."

We walked down the hall, really fast. Raeden had to do some double steps to keep up with my quick, long strides. After about five mins. we were standing outside of the meeting room. I took a breath trying to catch my head- this is the first person to intimidate me so quickly- aside from my mom. He's in the list of few people I'm scarred of.

After taking a breath or two we entered the room, Pein stopping to look at us,having every member follow his lead...I was slightly writing my will on the inside of my head, they probably know they have this affect on me. Especially-

"Ashley, you can take a seat."

"What?"

"You can sit, you've done well."

'I did?' I thought

"Last time I sent someone to retrieve Raeden, he went out of the base to sing with her." He gave a pointed glare at Deidara.

I took my seat between Hidan and Kakazu, the meeting starting again. It was quite boring and didn't actually concern Raeden, Cobi, Aleana or me. Speaking of Aleana, I haven't seen her since this morning at breakfast and haven't spoken to her since last night, I wonder what she's up to.

Bing~

I slowly and quietly pulled my phone out my pocket, hurriedly unlocked it and checked my messages. I smiled softly

C: I'm bored, mama

As: (insert caring response here)

C: *Le gasp* Rude

As: (insert apology here)

C: Come on, just cry to be nice.

As: 'cry'?

C: Damn auloborret

R: Did ur auto-correct, auto-correct its own name?

C: I know it fucks.

As: You have a very dirty phone.

C: What?

C: Gambit

R: What?

C: I maent gambit

As: pretty sure 'meant' is spelled like that.

As: Not this 'maent'

C: stfu.

R: No, flu stfu

C: ew

R flu know what I maent

As: I;m out before you aotu-correct sprends to me.

As: Gambit.

C+R: hahha

As: you missed an 'a'

C+R: stfu

I chuckled softly at messages my real world-family and I were making. Hidan being a nosy fuck, starts to lean over to read my texts.

"What are you doing." I look over to him, face blank, lacking emotion but I allowed my eyes to show the fury I had towards him, "Oh, nice eyes are the regular or are they only for me?" This smug mother...

"No, just the people I wish would defy gravity and fall of the face of the earth."

"Fierce, I like it."

"Hmph, whatever." Oh god I sound so 'Sasuke' right now.

I went back to texting, even I should be paying attention...when money comes up I take a look.

We've been texting throughout the entire meeting...until we got caught of course.

"Sasori look alike-"

"The name is Cobi."

"It's whatever I say it is."

" rhymes with Tobi. Also spelled like Tobi, just with a 'C' instead of a-"

"We get it, Cobi." Konan says sweetly.

"But Pein-"

"I'll deal with it."

"What? *grunt* Never-mind, Cobi " the name practically dripping with hatred,"what are you doing under the table- pay attention."

"Yes, sir." he mockingly saluted, using the hand with phone in it.

"What is that?" He asked

Oh shit.

"Oh, just their 'phones', something the were using to talk to each other and not pay attention to you." Hidan said

Me, Raeden and Cobi looked at him like This bitch did not.

"Anybody ever heard of the phrase 'snitches get stitches'?" Raeden asked through gritted teeth

"No-"

"Give them to me." Pein said, beyond pissed, but he didn't let it show. (A/N: Light- Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show!)

We all looked to him, Cobi and Raeden cried when he sent Konan around to collect our phones, I cried too...just internally.

"You too, Aleana."

"I thought she was dumb-blonde fool, yet I still get called the Sasori-look alike." Cobi grumbled

Konan took Aleana's phone last. I felt bad cause she wasn't apart of our group chat, so she shouldn't get in trouble. But, I'll be the last to upstage Pein-sama. I also felt a wave of nostalgia crash on me, the times of phones being confiscated at school came flooding into my mind.

"I'm going to end the meeting here, so everyone's free to do what he or she pleases...unless I need you for a mission. That is all." And he and Konan left the room.

"Pein, wait! You can't take my phone! How am I suppose to keep tabs on my Twitter, kik, Facebook, Tumblr, Snap-chat, Instagram I gotta check in with my followers!"

"Those don't exist in the Naru-verse." I added, chuckling to myself.

"Yet, our phones are here, explain that."

"Don't feel like it, too depressed."

"Dammit, woman, you're always depressed!" Cobi exasperated, clearly at his highest level of 'Done'.

"No, she's not." Aleana said (A/N: Ari- For the first time in this chapter -)

"Thank you, Aleana."

"She's over-whelming, intimidating, aggressive, over-powering, evil, money-obsessed, scary, and above all sarcastic! But yeah, i guess she is a bit depressing."

I just looked at this girl like-

"Well fuck you, too." I dead-panned. They laughed.

"What, those are your dominating traits." They laughed again.

*Sigh* "I really don't have the energy to keep this conversation going."

"Then stop talking." Cobi said. They laughter is getting louder, the embarrassment raising...unlike my tolerance.

"You suck."

"And you swallow." Silence.

Burn.

"Ooooooh, burn!" Kisame yelled. Even more silence. And my level of 'Done' is nearing the half mark.

I glared at him...hard.

"Say another word and Itachi will need a new partner, I'm kinda peckish for sushi."

Silence.

"Well, damn."

Kakazu got up from his seat and was about to leave when I grabbed his cloak.

"Where your going, I'm going. These idiots are gonna be the death of...my patience."

"Again well, damn."

"Fine."

"That's my milk buddy." I smiled lightly, leaving as soon as it came. (A/N: Peri- not really, she loves Kakazu too much.)

"Wait! What are we suppose to do?!" Cobi called after me.

"Don't know know, don't care. Have a nice life."

We left the room the room, filled with laughter and soft chuckles.

"Well, damn."
