I have nothing to say…..Oh, alright! A big thank you also, to Taylor Swift's song Innocent! I just think that song fits in well with this fanfic, no? I think you'll understand later. When I play that song, ideas just keep coming, so if you wanna thank anybody for my updates, thank Taylor Swift! Though I doubt that you'll actually thank her through letters, email etc. Anyway, R&E! I'm sorry if this chapter's a little rushed!

Nya's P.O.V.

I ran outside and headed for the center of Ouroboros, what we agreed was our meeting place after the sun went down. It was definitely late and I was eager to share my latest discovery with the guys. When I got to the center, I was put to a stop. No...It can't be...I saw my older brother, Kai, carrying an unconscious Cole, while Jay was collapsed on the ground, his skin having second-degree burns and his ninja suit, scorched.

Kai looked about the same as when I last saw him, which was weird, since there should be a small tail growing out of him or at least a greenish tinge on his skin. I walked toward him cautiously. I shouldn't worry, he must be fine, I convinced myself.

"Kai?" I asked nervously. Kai quickly turned around. We both stared at each other for a long time, before Kai suppressed a sigh.

"I wasn't supposed to find you." He said, sorrow shown in his eyes. "I've hurt myself too much already." He looked absolutely heart-broken.

"Nya, run, before I have to hurt you too." I gasped. He didn't hurt Cole and Jay, did he?

"Kai, please, whatever you're facing...whatever they're making you do..." I gasped when his eyes turned blood-red. He put Cole down, almost in a trance, and unsheathed his Sword of Fire.

"I told you to run." He snapped. His expression turned from heart-broken to angry. "Now I have no other choice–"

"Yes you do!" I exclaimed. He took a step back, shocked. "You can fight them, Kai. You can defy whatever's controlling you!" For a moment, his left eye turned hazel, but it quickly turned back.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, before he charged at me, his sword engulfed in flames. I quickly unsheathed my S-shaped shuriken and our two weapons collided. The heat of the sword was making me sweat, despite the freezing cold night in the desert.

"The Kai I know is persistent." I said, desperately trying to talk some sense into him. He slashed his sword at my face and I blocked it with my shuriken. Both of us were pushing against each other, trying to gain the upper hand. "The Kai I know doesn't give in to evil!" I said, gaining strength. I was able to push Kai to the ground, making him temporarily drop his sword. He gave me a venomous glare. I took a step back.

"You have no idea how hard it is to resist!" He screamed, grabbing his sword and shooting flames at me. I yelped when the flames singed my right arm. He slashed at me, and I was lucky enough to dodge. "You have no idea what I went through." He said, his anger making him faster and stronger.

He slashed at my right hand, making me drop my shuriken. He slammed the flat of his sword in my stomach, making me land on my butt. I desperately searched the sands for my shurikens. It was a little ways away. It was impossible for me to get them with Kai blocking me. I looked up at him, seeing the pain and hatred in his eyes.

"You don't know how it hurts to see you in pain." He muttered, raising his sword to deliver the final blow, when he was disturbed by an all-too familiar voice.

"That is enough, Kai."

Zane's P.O.V.

I struggled to my feet when I heard the sounds of fighting in the distance. I grabbed my stomach and used the walls as support so I may walk. Once I reach the center of Ouroboros, I furrowed my eyebrows, to focus my vision. Cole was slumped in a corner, unconscious, while Jay was a burnt pile of blue on the ground, burnt marks surrounding the floor he was on. Kai was fighting the Samurai now, and it seems that he was about to deliver the final blow. I frowned.

Brother or not, this has to stop.

"That is enough, Kai." I said, my voice loud enough for Kai to hear, but controlled so it will not falter. Kai turned to me, his eyes blood-red. I took a small step back, shocked, but quickly held firm. "You've gone too far." Kai growled.

"I thought I was done with you!" He exclaimed, pointing his fiery sword at me. I merely unsheathed my shuriken, preparing for a fight.

"I did not want to hurt you then, Kai, but now..." I said, shaking my head sadly. "I have no other choice. You shall not hurt our brothers anymore!" I said, shooting a trail of ice toward Kai. He dodged, and smirked.

"Well, that was déjà vu, wasn't it, Samurai?" He asked the Samurai. He just stared in shock, flinching when he touched his right arm. It was unfortunately scorched. Kai faced me, a smirk on his face. "Alright Zane, I accept your rematch." He striked his sword at me, flames shooting from it. I quickly dodged and threw one of my shuriken at him. It landed near his feet, encasing his lower body in ice.

"Why did you give in so easily, Kai?" I asked. "I'd known you long enough to know that you are stubborn enough to keep fighting until your breaking point." He snarled. He pointed his sword at my ice, and it instantly melted.

"You don't understand. I already reached my breaking point!" He exclaimed, slashing his sword at me. I kept dodging, watching him let all his anger out with every slash. He breathed heavily afterwards, gripping his head tightly with one hand, and pointing his sword at me with the other. He glared at me. "It's just...too...hard..."

"Ice!" I said, taking advantage of his inner turmoil. I froze his hand, making him let go of his sword. I ran toward it and took it. He growled. "We are not supposed to fight, brother. At least tell me you do not want that." He smirked. The ice surrounding his hand melted away.

"I wanted to do this since the moment I met you." He said. I raised an eyebrow.

"You are not telling the truth." I said plainly. He grew confused. "The Kai we know is still in there. Don't let the Serpentine control you, brother. You are a ninja, and ninja fight for justice and righteousness." He gripped his head again, pained. He forced a smirk.

"Then why does it feel so good to hurt you?" He groaned.

"You are lying again." I stated, looking him in the eye. He was brought down to his knees, desperately clutching his head, as if he was experiencing severe pain because of it.

"N-no..." He managed.

"Yes you are!" The Samurai suddenly spoke up, shocking me. "You told me yourself that it hurt to see us in pain. It hurt to fight." He said. Kai looked up, his left eye red, and his right eye hazel. I gasped. Kai looked me in the eye.

"Zane, go." He mumbled. I widened my eyes. His face was contorted in pain. "Take the others and go! I can't resist any longer!" His red eye glowed, and he hissed. I nodded and ran toward Cole and Jay, laying them on each of my shoulders.

"Samurai, we have to move!" I ordered. The Samurai didn't move.

"But Kai-"

"We have no choice but to leave him." I said. He still looked unsure. "Please, Kai is in enough pain already." I pleaded. He finally nodded and ran with me. I could sense that the Bounty is near. We both ran and ran until the Bounty was in sight. Once we were on board, I quickly lay Cole and Jay on their beds. I searched for the Samurai, but I instead bumped into Nya, who said that she saw the Samurai leave.

Nya's P.O.V.

I attended to Jay's burns, and did my best to clean his ninja outfit without actually putting it off. He was in a bad condition, but nothing worse than his previous dragon 'accident', when he almost totally burned his ninja outfit. I smiled. We all laughed at him even though he was totally furious. Jay was funny when he was mad. It was cute how he blushed while all of us where laughing at him. It was nice to remember something happy in this time of misery. I was snapped out of my daydream when I heard Jay groan.

"Jay!" I exclaimed. He coughed out the dust in his lungs.

"Nya?" He said, his voice rusty. "W-where am I?"

"You're in the Destiny's Bounty." I answered.

"Oh." He deadpanned. He suddenly shot his head up after a few passing seconds, flinching when he did so. "Wait, but where's Kai? And Cole and Zane?" I avoided contact with him.

"Kai...We-I mean, Zane and the Samurai had to get you guys and leave him behind." I said, fighting back tears. Jay apparently noticed and put his hand on mine, shocking me. His face was tinted with a light pink blush.

"Don't worry. We'll find a way to save him." He assured. I smiled, developing a blush of my own.

"Thanks Jay." I said. A few moments passed before he recoiled his hand, as if it was suddenly burned. His blush grew from pink to red.

"Uh...um, yeah, no problem." He said awkwardly. An awkward silence passed between the two of us.

"I should probably leave you alone, you need rest." I said after a few more minutes. He nodded. I smirked. "By the way, the Samurai's gone, so I'm definitely going with you guys now." I said, just before I went away. The last thing I saw was Jay's shock, that turned to anger, that soon turned into embarrassment. I giggled like a school girl. He always found a way to make me laugh even in the most serious of situations.

Alright I'm done! Phew, the last part was hard! I made it NayXJay a little in this chapter, but I also was careful not to make it overboard, so that the non JayXNya shippers will rest in peace. XD

So, most of you must have said before that, 'Kai is so messed up.' or 'Wow, what happened to Kai?' in Chapter 3. Well now, you know he's even more messed up now! You're welcome! ^-^' (Sorry Kai, just doing it for the fans!) Anyway, I hope you R&R! And you can give me ideas too! I love to get me some ideas for this fanfic!
