The jarring ringing of the alarm awakes me from my slumber. "God damn it," I yell as I stretch out my arm to turn off the horrendous sound. "I don't have school today so why do I even keep my alarm on?" I frustratingly question myself. With the previous noise fully awakening me, I check the time to notice it's nine in the morning. "Oh," I say in surprise. "This has been ringing for an hour."

I remove the covers and though I'm not fully energized, I get out of my bed fairly fast. I leave the room and call out to my sister, "Jen you here?"

No reply. She must have left for work early. Might as well have breakfast.

Walking over to the dining room, I see a note on the table and quicken my pace to see what's on it. I pick up the note and it reads:

Em,

I left for work early today. I know you want to leave but make sure you come to say bye. Don't be like our parents.

Love,

Jen

"Of course I'd say bye. Who do you think I am?" I say as I set the note back on the table. Right then my stomach gurgles loud enough to startle a Snorlax. "Well, I am hungry," I chuckle to myself.

I head over to the kitchen and grab myself a skillet from within a cupboard. After putting the skillet on a lit burner, I open the fridge and grab bacon and eggs. With the ingredients in my hands, "Just grilled bacon and scrambled eggs, nothing extravagant today." Talking to myself is something I've always done when I'm home alone.

Since the package of bacon is almost done, I put the last four on the hot skillet to get them cooking. The aroma of the bacon immediately starts to spread its way around the kitchen, allowing the holy smell to invigorate my body. "Ah, nothing beats the smell of bacon in the morning. Now if I was awoken to the smell of bacon from my alarm clock instead of that horrendous ringing, I wouldn't mind the mornings at all." I begin to scramble the eggs in a bowl after cracking them, quickly adding salt and pepper to get the basic seasoning in.

The bacon cooks fast and I remove the strips onto a napkin to absorb the extra fat left on but I don't get rid of the bacon grease in the pan as eggs taste better cooked in it. I pour the scrambled eggs into the already hot grease and move the eggs around with a fork to give it that 'scrambled' look. After the eggs are done cooking, I grab a plate to put the eggs and the bacon on and bring them over to the table. I eat in silence as no one is home.

So, what was I gonna do today? Uh, it was something important. I talked about it with Jen last night and it was...it was...it was about Nate. Yeah, I'm gonna find him today.

I finish eating my otherwise simple breakfast in silence while I mentally prepare myself for what's ahead. I get up from my chair and return the plate into the sink to be washed later.

Let's see. I need my backpack, spare clothing, some food and water. I also need my I.D. and my Ponyta. Wouldn't want to forget those at all. I'll pack that up later after I finish cleaning up.

With that said, I return back to my room and grab a pair of jeans and grey T-shirt. Since my room has a restroom and a shower, I head inside and take my morning shower to not only cleanse myself but also to prepare me for today. The water runs down my body, following my natural curves that an athlete has. As I shower, I begin to hum a popular tune that is topping the charts in both Kanto and Johto.

"That felt good," I say as I finish showering while wrapping a towel around to dry off. Since my hair isn't too long, I'm able to dry it with ease albeit getting the towel too wet to dry anything else. After changing into my clothing, I set my hair in a ponytail and finishing up the morning routine of brushing the teeth. I exit the restroom after quickly checking in the mirror to see if everything is in order.

So I just need to grab my backpack and put everything in there. That should take no more than ten minutes and I should be out of here soon afterwards.

My room, while not the cleanest, has some articles of clothing lying on the floor, a book here and there, and some sports equipment too. Even though my sister tells me to clean up this room, I can find everything I want with ease. Since I already know what to bring, I collect everything and put on my bed while I clean out my backpack of anything that may be in here. All of it, once put in the backpack, weighs approximately fifteen or so pounds, nothing too heavy that I can't handle.

I take a quick look around my room before I begin to leave the room, only to stop halfway in. "I guess I'll do a quick clean. Jen will appreciate that." In saying so, I take off the bag and begin to pick up everything off the floor and putting them where they belong. This takes no more than five minutes and close my bedroom door while donning the bag as I ready to depart.

Instead of the Lavender way of having things be extremely dramatic as one departs for a journey while reminiscing of one's life, I do none of that and race towards the door and grab a set of keys. I exit and lock the door as I peer over to where the PokéCenter would be located since I'd most likely find Nate there.

With no intention of exerting myself, I reach into my pocket and pull out a music player and earphones. I attach them accordingly and start playing some popular music from ten years ago. I hum along to the song, occasionally singing a phrase or two as I reach my destination.

In what seemed like no time at all, I finally reach the PokéCenter and enter through its doors. I see my sister working behind the counter while helping someone out. She looks up to me and I wave to her. While she acknowledges me, she gets back to helping the man at the counter and I wait for them to be done before I go and talk to her.

I find a place to sit in the waiting room and I drop the backpack on the floor though it's not heavy enough to make a thump. My music still playing, I relax in the chair, resting my body even though I don't really need it. Before I begin to close my eyes, my sister sits in the seat in front of me.

"Hey Emily," Jen says a little worn out which shows through her bags under her eyes. I don't know how early she left but it appears she didn't get her eight hours she normally gets.

"Jenna," I pronounce slowly while removing the ear buds and pausing the music. "I read your note; you know I'd never be like them," I hiss with apparent disgust. The thought of my parents brings a scowl to my face.

Since any mention of our horrible parents can turn my mood sour within seconds, Jen quickly turns the conversation around by asking, "So Em, it seems you have your bag now. Are you leaving now?" She crosses her legs, putting her right over her left and puts both hands on her knee.

With her question allowing me to free myself from the darkness of my mind, I answer to the best of my knowledge, "I think so. I'm just wondering if you've seen Nate at all today? He's the one I'm going to go with him whether he likes it or not." Just realizing that I sounded like a stalker, I shut my mouth before I say anything worse.

That really sound like a stalker. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

Jenna creates a sly grin with her eyebrows raising while producing small wrinkles on her forehead. "So you have a thing for short guys now," she teasingly says. "Well you did have a crush on John-". I quickly get out of my seat and cover her mouth with my hands so as to not let her speak anymore.

With a commanding whisper into her ear, "Do not bring that up. I was stupider back then and I have learned from that mistake." She nods her head and return back to my seat across from her. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, I again say my original question a little more forceful this time, "Have you seen Nate at all today?"

She no longer teasing me, "Fine, I'll answer your question." I internally breath a sigh of relief as I don't have to deal with her teasing anymore. "He left an hour or so ago after coming from the cafeteria. He asked where the new J&J's clothing shop was and I told him it was right. He left and I haven't seen him since." Finishing herself after taking a breath, "Happy now?"

"Yes, thank you," I say relieved. "You could have just said that in the beginning. It would have been so much easier." Even though we do tend to tease each other often, with everything going on, it wasn't the right moment to do so.

Her face droops and shoulders slump down, "But if you do go, I won't be able to have fun like this with you anymore," she says saddened though I don't know if she's being honest about it.

Just to play it safe with Jen, "We can still call each other and it's not like I'm going to the other side of Kanto or anything." Now noticing how Jen needs to get back to work even if it's not crowded as it is right now, "You should get back to work. I'll see you in a bit," I promise her so she doesn't stress out while helping a patient.

We both get up and hug one another with Jen whispering into my ear, "You better," she says teasingly. We release each other from our embrace while I say bye to her and we both go do our separate tasks.

I leave the building with determination in my gait as I walk to affirm my potential future.

What got me on Nate anyways? We first met and he was carrying his bloodied Pikachu in his arms, not in its ball where it should have been. The way he answered my questions seemed strange, like he wasn't familiar with something. And I definitely don't have a thing for him. My sis is always putting strange thoughts in my head. I think it'd be more curiosity than anything else.

As I continue to walk and think at the same time, I get ever closer to J&J's and as I see the sign, I also notice two people and an orange dog leave the store.

I think one of them is Nate and if so, I didn't know he got a Growlithe. Also, who is that blonde girl besides him? She wasn't with him the other day. Hold up. Is that a Pikachu's tail hanging behind her? Is that his Pikachu? He bought clothes for her?

To my surprise, I see Emily running up to me, her handing waving. I raise my hand to greet her but just as I do, a large, blue beam of light emanates from the sky, enveloping Emily. Before she is able to notice the situation she is in, she is instantly turned to dust and the wind carries her remains away, never to be seen again. I am unable to comprehend the situation that just happened and the only thing I can do is look around.

To my left if Kamina, the Growlithe that I had recently caught and to my right, Layla in her humanoid form. Both look just as perplexed as I think I look. Making sure I wasn't seeing things, I ask in a hectic manner, "Um, did that just happen?"

Layla, who is able to answer my question urgently turns, "Nate, I think we should go." She then grabs my arm and starts pulling me away down the street with Kamina quickly following. More and more beams of light start dropping from the sky and she exclaims, "It's happening!"

Not knowing what she means by that, I frantically ask, "What's happening? Please explain." I turn to my left and I see Kamina running besides me, only to have a beam of light envelope him, instantly turning him to dust. "Layla, what the fuck is going on!" I yell and she halts quickly afterwards.

She turns around, her dark black eyes now red and glowing brightly. I am startled by this and I begin to get frightened even before she speaks. I a calm voice, "Nate, the time has come for me to conquer this world and rid it of these horrible humans and their dreadful Pokémon companions." She looks around and notices people running amok in the streets and her eyes change from red to blue, instantly turning those people to dust.

She looks even calmer while I zone out the screams of people nearby as this revelation unfolds. The only thing I am able to focus on is Layla in front of me who returns her gaze back while her eyes change back to red. Trying to plead with her, "Layla, what is going on? This has to be a dream, right? Right?" My body shakes while I'm held in her gaze, unable to move.

She smiles at me and her teeth are now fangs, sharp and able to kill. "Nate, good bye and thanks for everything." Her eyes turn blue and that's when I know my fate has been sealed.

The glow from my computer screen strikes my face as I lean back in my chair, obviously frustrated at that ending I just read. "Literally, what the fuck did I just read?" I curse under my breath so that my parents don't find out I'm reading this late at night. "Seriously, he left so many plot holes in this story, it's not even funny. He's gone for five months and posts this shit! God dammit! I've been trolled! This story was pretty good and then he pulls this shit on us fans. I can't believe him."

I close out of , too enraged to even contemplate reading another story and turn off my computer soon afterwards. I get out of the chair and creep towards my bed, making sure to not make a noise. Whispering under my breath, "A hero is born my ass!" I reach my bed and enter, pulling the covers over me. "Fuck ThatAngryNinja!" I yell, not even caring if my parents heard or not. Too pissed to even care, I drift off into a dreamless sleep only to be awakened by my alarm clock which rings in a couple hours.

The End

A/N - Well, thanks for reading everyone. Hope you liked that twist ending cause there isn't going to be anymore of this. Goodbye and have a nice day.

P.S. - For the real reason I ended it like this, I'll explain in the next update so until then, I bid you adieu.
