Chapter 47: Kanda's Kitten

When I wake up, it was raining really hard outside, at least that's what I could hear. It had been several days since Kanda and I had gotten back together, and it made me really happy that I wasn't getting nightmares anymore.

Opening my eyes, I glance at the balcony door, dark clouds hanging throughout the sky, but the rain didn't look like it was coming down very hard, nothing more than an average drizzle.

"Allen?"

Shrinking back, I ask miserably, "Why are you talking so loud?"

Kanda was looking at me as I curl up with my hands over my ears, and then he puts a hand over his face, shaking his head. Removing my own hands, I glance up at him, "What?"

"Look in the mirror," he says, flopping down on his back. Following his order, I get up and walk into the bathroom, immediately noticing why everything was louder.

On top of my head, two black, fluffy ears were twitching around before flattening against my head, a tail swishing behind me like it was an extension of my spine, and I reach my hand up to touch the abnormalities, stroking the fur. Returning to the bed, I sit beside my boyfriend, my ears flat against my head as I say, "I really hate those stupid pills."

"I don't know. I think you look cute like that," Kanda says, scratching behind my ear, and I allow a purr to escape my throat.

"Daddy, meow?"

Turning around, I see Ice sitting on the bed, glancing at my new feline appendages, and I ask, "Ice, did you just call me 'Daddy'?"

She nods, "Yes, meow. You're my daddy, meow."

"Oh gosh, I'd like to see Kanda's reaction to that if I said it," I laugh, curling up a hand and rubbing my eye.

Kanda looked at me worriedly, "My reaction to what?"

"Okay, so I can hear Ice talk now and she says I'm her daddy," I explain, settling on my knees. He smirks, "Really, and who's your daddy?"

"You are, Master," I purr.

"Get a room, meow!" Ice cries, flicking her ears. Rolling my eyes, I object, "Hey, this is our room!"

Seeming to ponder this, she shakes her head, "You could still go somewhere else, meow."

"We could, but if we had sex in the hall, then we'd scar some people for life," I tell her.

"I'm already scarred for life, meow! Do I not matter, meow?"

"You matter, but it's our room to do whatever we want in."

"Whatever, meow."

Kanda sighs, "My boyfriend is having a full out conversation with a cat."

"Your boyfriend also is pregnant and has cat ears and a tail. What's your point?" I ask, prodding his chest.

"Very true," he muses. "Never mind then."

Smiling, I was about to reply when a feral growl erupts from my stomach along with that bouncy ball feeling again. Jumping slightly, I exclaim, "She kicked!"

"How many babies are you having, meow?" Ice asks as Kanda pulls me into an embrace. Slightly scared, I say into his neck, "Humans only have one baby at a time, unless it's twins, triplets, or more, but the more babies, the more rare they become."

"What?" Kanda asks, pulling away from me and moving off the bed to his dresser.

"Ice asked how many babies we were having," I say, resisting the urge to smack at his hair. Chuckling, he says, "I should hope we're only having one."

Sticking my tongue out at him, I get up and begin digging around in my own dresser for clothes. My tail ends up stuffed down my jeans, in the front so I don't sit on it, and I turn around as I take off Kanda's shirt, even if I'm not naked. It aggravates him that I don't like taking off clothing in front of him, but I can't help it!

Lips are pressed against the side of my neck before arms wrap around me, and I lean back into a strong chest, purring like I had eaten a motorcycle. Quietly, Kanda says, "You know how much I hate not seeing everything."

"And you know how much I hate being watched!" I protest, frustration dying away as he brings a hand up to turn my head, and he brings his lips down on mine, roughly bruising them with his.

"Then I'll just have to help you get ready," he says between kisses down my jaw line. Coming to the junction of my neck and jaw, he lightly sucks on the tender skin before biting down enough to cause me to yelp and moan at the same time, and I know that my turtleneck won't cover the hickey. Growling as he pulls away, I ask, "Is it really necessary to mark me in such an obvious place?"

"Yes," he smirks. "That way everyone knows that you belong to me."

Rolling my eyes, I say, "They already know that. You make it obvious enough, especially with how possessive you've been acting lately."

Snagging my turtleneck off the dresser, he slips it over my head, and looks somewhat pleased that his mark wasn't covered by the fabric. Smiling innocently, I say, "Remember, I have to wear my coat to cover up my ears."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," he grumbles, tossing it to me as he flops on the bed next to Ice. The kit mews towards the bluenette, "You are a complete moron, meow. You should start taking lessons on how to seduce someone, meow, and then some, meow."

Unable to hold it in, I burst out laughing as I slip on my coat and continue getting ready, ignoring the odd look I got from my boyfriend.

In about thirty minutes, we sat down at the table in the center of the cafeteria with the rabbit and Lenalee. Trying to start a conversation, I ask, "How have you guys been?"

"We've been good," Lenalee answered, slapping a hand over Lavi's mouth as he was about to say something. Deciding I didn't want to know, I ask the pig-tailed girl, "Do you know if there's any way to reverse the pill's side-effects?"

She shakes her head, "No, I can't help you with that. Why?"

"Kitten literally turned into a kitten," Kanda growls. "He's been have full out conversations with Ice all morning."

"Wait, why was Allen talking to ice? I mean, I know he has some major issues, but really? Talking to frozen water is just weird," Lavi rambled with slight fear and worry in his voice. Rolling his cobalt eyes, my boyfriend irritably says, "Ice the cat! Not actual ice!"

Lenalee looked somewhat confused, and I pull up my hood enough for her to be able to see the ears underneath. I'm not sure what I expected, maybe an apology for getting me into this, but instead, she squeals, "Oh, Allen, you look so cute!"

My head hits the table with a dull thud next to a dozen empty plates as Lavi bursts out laughing, and I protest, "It's not funny!"

"Well, you are cute that way," Kanda says before taking a bite of soba. His long hair that frames his face sways slightly, and against my better judgment, I smack at it, swatting it back and forth between my hands as my eyes dart around in the same motion. Watching me out of the corner of his eye, Kanda asks, "May I assist you?"

Frowning sadly, I stop the motion and put my hands in my lap, mumbling quietly, "Sorry."

Feeling breath on my ear, I freeze, and Kanda whispers, "Do you really want me to get a boner in the middle of the cafeteria? Because it wouldn't bother me, but you'd be the one to take care of it."

"No, I'll stop!" I hastily reply, staring straight ahead and over Lenalee's head, and I can feel my blush reach my ears as he pulls away, probably smirking. The rabbit looks between us before asking, "Do I even want to know what Yu said?"

"Don't call me by my first name, or I'll give you a nose bleed through your eyesight," Kanda threatens, returning to his soba as I remain frozen.

Baka Usagi looks to his girlfriend, who was currently digging through her purse until she pulled out a digital camera, posing it in front of her, and I finally move to say, "Bubbles, Kandy isn't going to do that here. At least I don't think he will…."

"But Twinkle, what if he does?" she pouts. "I have to be ready for Yullen footage at all times."

"Hey, why does everyone have nicknames except me?" Lavi interrupts. Confused, I ask, "What are you yapping about?"

Looking genuinely hurt, he says, "Well, Lenalee is Bubbles, Kanda is Kandy―"

"If you ever call me that, I will impale you with Mugen," Kanda growls, death glaring Lavi. Gulping, he continues, "To Allen, Kanda is Kandy, and Allen is Kitten, Twinkle, and Moyashi! What about me?!"

"Hey, I resent being called Moyashi!" I add, watching Kanda's hair swish by his face and using every last drop of self-control I had not to play with it.

"Besides, everyone knows you're 'the rabbit' and 'Baka Usagi'," Lenalee says, obviously trying to comfort her boyfriend. Though, Lavi seems to be saddened by this, and begins talking about what would happen if he really turned into a rabbit. Laughing, I say, "The only difference would be we wouldn't be able to understand you."

"And what a blessing it would be," Kanda growled, finishing with his soba and pulling me into his lap. This started becoming a routine for some reason, so I think most people know that I've got hickeys, and all over me at that.

Leaning back into him, I get comfortable as his arms secure me to him, his chin resting on my right shoulder, and I mouth to Lenalee, "Help! I'm scared!"

Giggling, my bestie says, "Sorry, but Yullen pictures come first."

With that, she begins snapping photos on her camera, squealing behind the lens as Kanda turns my head to give me a deep kiss.

Oo_oO_Oo_oO

"Talk about unnecessary!" I say, plopping down on the bed next to Ice. The kit looks at me and asks, "What did Kandy do, meow?"

Haha, even the cat called him Kandy now, pure genius! Scratching behind her ear, I say, "He was just being mean to me."

"Mean? No, I wasn't being mean. I was saving you from the humiliation of having to do very perverted things in the middle of the cafeteria," Kanda says, following me to the bed and sitting next to me.

"Sure, whatever you say," I tell him sarcastically, yawning. Shaking his head, he asks, "How on Earth are you tired?"

Lying with my head in his lap, I tug at his shirt and mewl quietly, "I just want a little catnap, Kandy…."

"Okay, I'll lie with you," he promises as he moves us around. Eventually, he settles on his back with me half on top of him, my chin resting on my curled hands and my knees coiled under me. One of his hands held a book, and the other scratched behind my ear as I purred quietly. Just as I was drifting off, Kanda whispers, "Sweet dreams, my little Kitten."

"Wait, I thought you would leave after my issues with Kanda were solved," I said, my legs dangling off the edge of the gigantic tree root I was sitting on.

"How many times have I said this? I don't know why I'm here, because I'm a figment of your imagination," Kurohana replied, kicking her legs to keep her vine swing going. Personally, I felt like an ant in this forest of huge things. The trees were practically skyscrapers and kept everything dark, regardless of the sun shining above the canopy. Sighing, I ask, "So are you going to give me a confusing poem or something?"

"Why?" she asks. "Do you want one?"

"It just seems like you would give me one to get me to do something in the real world."

"I don't see an issue with your current situation, other than the cute cat ears you've been sporting. If I was still alive, we could have gone out cosplaying!"

"Poor Lenalee wouldn't have a place though!"

"All you'd need would be some mouse ears for her and rabbit ears for that idiot of a boyfriend she's got."

Laughing, I correct, "His name is Lavi."

"Whatever," Kurohana says, rolling her eyes. "Anyways, you don't have an issue at the moment. Be carefree while you can. The closer to the baby's birth you get, the harder it will be. I'd say you'll break three more ribs, plus some."

"Optimistic as always," I laugh.

"Right."

When I wake up, Kanda was still scratching behind my ear and reading his book, not seeming to have done much. That's when I notice that I've only slept for an hour and a half, so it wasn't a big deal, but now, I wanted to play!

"Kandy, play with me!" I demand, sitting up before hopping into the floor on my hands and knees, my tail somehow getting free and swishing behind me as I await my boyfriend's response.

"Good luck with that, meow. I've tried getting him to play so many times, meow, but he just ignores me, meow," Ice says, wiggling her way out from under the bed. Raising an eyebrow at her, I ask, "How long have you been under there?"

She rolls onto her back, three legs in the air, "A few hours, meow. It makes a good hiding place, meow."

"Get Ice to play," Kanda says from the bed, glancing down at me.

"Told you, meow. He never plays with anybody, meow," the kit gloats, watching me with her mismatched eyes. Smiling, I say, "I've got a few trick up my sleeve, Ice. Watch and learn."

My tail drooping and ears against my head in sadness, I crawl back onto the bed, lying somewhat like a dog as I pout and prod at his shoulder, knowing that I can get his attention. In the most hurt voice I could manage, I whimper, "B-but I thought you liked to play with me! Am I not good enough for your playtime?"

Kanda gives me a look that said he wasn't falling for it, and then I yawn, using a hand curled up like a paw to wipe away a yawn-tear, "Please?"

Sighing in defeat, he asks, "What do you want to play?"

"Thank you, Kandy!" I squeak, perking up instantly and jumping into the floor. Ice was literally gaping at me as she mewed, "How did you do that, meow?"

"You just have to know what his weak spots are, and what sequence to use to get him to crack," I instruct the she-cat as Kanda sits in the floor next to me. Rolling his eyes, he tells the kit still on her back with her legs in the air, "Yeah, but yawning won't get you anywhere, Baka Neko."

"He just called me an idiot cat, meow, didn't he, meow?" Ice said, glaring at my boyfriend.

"I thought you couldn't tell what he says," I say, changing the topic. Nodding, she explains, "I can only understand you, meow, but I've learned to read his lips, meow."

Laughing, I tell her, "You are a very smart cat."

"Thank you, meow."

"Hello? Earth to Kitten?" Kanda says, waving a cat toy on a stick in front of me. Forgetting Ice, I smack at the feather toy, eyes locking on it as it "crawled" across the floor, and I pounce forward, missing and trying again. My tail thrashed with excitement behind me as I chased the toy being controlled by my boyfriend, and I finally catch it, holding it under my hand with my ears perked forward.

"Baka Neko number two," Kanda said, ruffling behind my ears as I swat the toy between my hands before Ice snags it, running as fast as her three legs would carry her in an attempt to escape, emphasis on attempt. Glaring up at the bluenette, I growl, "I'm not an idiot, BaKanda!"

Smirking, he asked, "Is that supposed to be an insult?"

Realizing my mistake, I shut off my purr-box that had been running nonstop because he wouldn't leave my ears alone, not that I minded the extra attention. Rolling over and out of my crouched position, I purr louder as he rubs my chin, purposely brushing against my very sensitive bite mark at the juncture of my jaw and neck, and I mumble, "Yes, Master."

"That's what I like to hear."

Author Note: I have a writing assessment tomorrow and Thursday, and Friday I'm going to my Meme and Poppy's for the weekend (as in, no internet). More than likely, next update will be Sunday, I think. Until then, please, Please, PLEASE R/R!
