Chapter 58: Fan Q&A 2

Interviewer: Kanda, what made you want to name the baby Yoru?

Kanda: I've always liked it as a name, and at that point we didn't know what breed she was, so she could have been a black cat or something.

Interviewer: Crowsnight, what made you want to make Inu and Neko Innocence?

Crowsnight: Hm, didn't really expect that one. Well, for starters, I love stories with nekos and animal hybrids (Oh my gosh, Tokyo Mew Mew was the best!), so one day I was sitting in class, trying to figure out when Neko Allen would happen, and it hit me: the baby can have a Neko Innocence! In Kurohana's case, I had to do a little more thinking, because she had to be beautiful by description to get Cross's attention and had to have some sort of mysterious aura. What can be more mysterious than a wolf? Anyways, so yeah.

Interviewer: Crowsnight, what made you want to bring Ice into the story, because I really like her, but I wonder?

Crowsnight: I remember that I wrote that chapter coming back from Kentucky, and it was the first time I'd visited since the cat we had up there, Tom, had been taken away by his original owner. (I'm not a violent person, but I seriously wanted to find that woman and punch her.) As I was coming back, I was thinking a lot about what the next chapter and Tom kept on creeping into my mind, and when I came up with going to the animal shelter, I decided that they could meet a cat that looked like Allen. Originally, I was going to give her super powers, like when she could talk to Allen, but I never really could figure out a way to explain it. Actually, that's probably a reason I made Neko Innocence, too. I'm glad you like her!

Interviewer: Crowsnight, will Kiseki ever be paired with anyone?

Crowsnight: Yes. In the sequel, the story will be revolved around Kiseki having dreams of being Hyō (and being with Road) and her trying to balance that with her current situation. I should also mention that the sequel will be placed after the final battle, but based on the anime. Neah will be dead, and Road has disappeared (though that came from the manga, as will anything about the Second Exorcist Program). So yes, Kiseki will be paired with Road.

Interviewer:Cross, what do you think of your apprentice's daughter?

Cross: Why would I care?

Allen: Master, just answer the question.

Cross: Whatever. Sure, she's smart and reminds me a lot of my idiot pupil.

Interviewer: Kanda, do you still curse now that Kiseki has been born?

Kanda: What kind of question is that? Of course I do, and I'm teaching her the fine art as well.

Kiseki: Yeah, I flipped off a finder earlier and Chichi was so proud!

Allen: Kanda!

Kanda: *smirks*

Interviewer: Allen, since Kiseki is so smart, when do you plan on telling her about your scars?

Allen: I'm sticking with the plan of when she turns sixteen. I can't really help it if she figures it out before then, and if she asks, I'll just say that I'll tell her when she's older.

Interviewer: Allen, how close are you with Kiseki since she seems to like Kanda a lot more than you?

Allen: I'm still as close to her as Kanda is. Whether they admit it or not, every child has a parent they connect to more, and in this case, that was Kanda. It doesn't bother me, because she loves us equally and doesn't really treat me any differently.

Interviewer: Kiseki, what do you think about your parents?

Kiseki: They're the best parents ever! Chichi teaches me how to train and cuss people out when they get on my nerves, and Daddy does girly things with me, like doing my hair!

Interviewer: Crowsnight, it sounded like that Kiseki was going to be a Noah in Chapter 56. Is she?

Crowsnight: I can't really clarify that right now. You'll have to read the sequel!

Interviewer: Kanda, what did you think when you first saw Allen and Kiseki?

Kanda: They're too similar, and I needed to make sure that Kiseki didn't become that nice.

Interviewer: Kiseki, is there a reason that you prefer Kanda over Allen?

Kiseki: I'm not really trying to decide between them. They're both my dads. I just notice that Chichi seems different whenever he's not with me or Daddy, and it makes me really sad, so I don't want to leave him alone.

Kanda: *stares*

Interviewer: Komui and Lavi, what would you do/think if Lenalee got pregnant?"

Komui: SIR KOMLIN THE SEVENTH, KILL LAVI THE IMPREGNATOR!

Lenalee: Brother, it was hypothetical!

Komui: Oh, then I think I gave my answer.

Lavi: In that case, I'd tell Lenalee that I love her and the baby then run to a country overseas before Komui finds out.

Interviewer: Allen and Kanda, does it bother you that Kiseki is smarter than you?

Allen: Nope. She is very gifted.

Kanda: She isn't smarter than us yet! Well, she may be smarter than the Moyashi, but not me.

Allen: *sings* If you didn't like it, then you shouldn't have put a ring on it.

Kanda: Shut up or I will shut you up.

Allen: *freezes and acts like an inanimate object*

Interviewer: Crowsnight, how did you decide what breed Kiseki would be?

Crowsnight: Well, I wanted her to be some type of big cat, like a leopard, lion, tiger, or something like that. I paired Allen's hair color with the cat, and I wanted her to have long hair. A big cat that's white and has long hair. Snow leopard. That was my reasoning.

Interviewer: Kanda, what would you do if Kiseki developed a crush on someone?

Kanda: I'd talk to him while polishing Mugen.

Interviewer: Allen, what would you if Kiseki asked you where babies come from?

Allen: I'd find Lenalee and beg her to do it for me, or at least help.

Interviewer: Kanda and Allen, what about the wedding?

Kanda: Whenever Moyashi wants to have it.

Allen: I guess I want it to be sometime when all of our friends are at the Order, and hopefully in the summer.

Interviewer: Crowsnight, what happened with Kurohana and Allen?

Crowsnight: If you like her, don't worry, she's coming back in Kiseki's dreams in the sequel. As far as her and Allen, Kurohana served as a bonding point for him and Cross, and a person to talk to when Allen didn't have Kanda while the whole "Allen cheated on Kanda with Sekushi" thing was going on.

Interviewer: Lavi, will you propose to Lenalee?

Lavi: At some point I might. Ugh, I'd have to get Komui's approval though.

Interviewer: Crowsnight, Kiseki knows more than Bookman?

Crowsnight: Originally, Kiseki wouldn't be affected by the birth, but that would be boring, don't you think? When the parts of her brain were unlocked, she got the ability to basically not forget anything, so if she's told something or experienced it, she'll never forget a single detail. To me, I think that would make her smarter than Bookman at some point.

Interviewer: Crowsnight, if Kiseki is the reincarnation of Hyō, will she be in her?

Crowsnight: To me, that makes it sound a lot like Neah inside Allen. In that case, then no. I can't really say more on that due to spoilers, but you can always read the sequel!
