The Beach
The roar of the helicopter's blades filled the air as the unlikely group of 10 flew over Weoeras.
"We'll be by the coastline in approximately 2 minutes! From there you will jump out." The pilot of the heli called from the cockpit. The group nodded. Everyone was a little nervous, even Michael. They did not know what they would face. A creature of Grimm that roamed the seas? Practically unheard of in Vale. But one that also roamed the land was an extremely rare sight, even for the most experienced travelers.
"Hey, back in Tibetei, didn't we encounter a water type Creature of Grimm on the boat ride there?" Gavin asked, trying to get a conversation going.
Ryan looked up.
"Yeah, but we let it go because we didn't know enough about it." Ryan shook his head. "That was but a small guppie. This time around we're fighting something big."
With those words, a shudder was sent down everyone's spines, and Gavin was silenced.
"Alright! We're closing in! Get ready to jump, I'm opening the hatch!" The pilot called again. Everybody took one look at one another, nodded, and stood up. The moment of truth.
As the pilot had warned, the hatch to the back of the cargo helicopter opened, revealing a tropical scenery bordering a seemingly endless ocean. To sum it up, it was pretty much a jungle bordering an ocean. The breeze took everyone back as it swept through the cabin. The sight and feel was beautiful.
Too bad they were most likely going to destroy the entire beach. It was inevitable.
Everyone had nearly forgotten. They had to jump. But as they took in their surrounding, they slowly realized, Weiss, surprisingly being the first to jump. She used her glyphs to slow down her landing.
Next to jump was Michael, who had actually jumped using one of four parachutes provided in place of using a landing technique.
After Michael was Ray, who blasted a burst of air from the tip of his rose to slow him down as he touched the ground.
This continued, everyone jumping one after another, ending with Gavin using the last parachute. Everyone watched as he gracefully floated towards the ground.
"Alright. Here's the plan. We'll spend overnight, and if the creature happens to pop up, we'll take it on. Simple as." Yang explained as Gavin landed on the ground clumsily. She didn't acknowledge him as she continued. "Everyone got it? We'll split up into two groups of five, one group watching the southbound side and one group watching the northbound side."
Everyone nodded in agreement with the plan.
"What are the groups?" Gavin asked as they all began to walk through the jungle.
"Ahhh..." Yang trailed, stopping for a moment to think about Gavin's question. "Ok. Here's how it will go. The Achieve Men will all be together, except for Michael, who will join our team, Team RWBY for now."
Michael nearly spit out the water he was holding in his mouth.
"W-What?!" He blurted, swallowing the water in his mouth. "Why me?"
Yang shrugged. "I don't know." She said, a smile stretching out on her face
But everyone saw her motives. It was quite obvious, with Ruby looking like she would burst from joy and the smirk on Yang's face. Michael, however, arguably did not understand Yang's motives.
"Why do I have to spend a night with girls?" He moaned in a pissy, childish voice as the group walked onwards.
"Do you have cooties, Michael?" Jack asked, chuckling to himself. Michael pouted, opened his mouth to say something, shut it, and became quiet.
Yang smiled menacingly as she saw Michael struggle.
As they neared the beach, the air became heavier and breathing was rendered difficult. This proved a problem, as everyone became light -headed. Was this the appropriate condition to fight in?
"Ah man, my head hurts." Geoff announced, holding his head. Everyone agreed.
"Must be the air." Ray said.
As he said this, the light reflected from the grains of sand poured in, and next thing they knew, the sight of a beautiful beach filled their eyes. Everyone gasped at the sheer beauty in front of them.
"Woah..."
And 'woah' was right. The beach's combined sand, sky, and clear blue water made for a luscious sight. Too bad no one had brought a swim suit.
*Short chapter, sorry. I had a cello recital tonight and was only able to get 800 words in before nearly fainting.
On another note, this chapter can go in many different directions. If you would, suggest in the review section which way you would want it to go? Romance? Right to the fight? Awkwardness? I don't care, just gimme anything, I'll write it!
