Xana's Kiss

"Jeanne?" asked Ulrich as he, Odd and Jeremy walked down the corridor.

"Yep."

"Azra, Claire, Lola?" asked Jeremy.

"Yep, double yeah!"

"Huh?" asked Jeremy as Harry poked his head out the door.

"So you've dated every girl in the eighth grade?" asked Ulrich.

"Everyone except Heidi Klinger," said Odd.

"And Sissi and Aelita, of course," called Harry as he walked out the dorm, and joined them. "Sissi…"

"Are you trying to set a record or something?" asked Jeremy. "And I think someone has a crush."

"No way, I'm just searching for true love!"

"I don't have a crush!"

They walked past the doors and Sissi.

"Well, look who's here! My dear Harry, want to go see a movie with me this afternoon?" asked Sissi.

"Uh, that would depend on what's playing," said Harry carefully.

"Adventure in the Tropics!"

"Ohhh no, what a bummer! He has already seen it! Shame," said Ulrich, lying through his teeth as they continued walking.

"Oh…"

"I'll go see it with you!" offered Herb.

"See what?" asked Sissi.

"The film!"

"Great! Let's go, then!"

"Hey, do you mean that?!" asked Herb eagerly.

"Not!"

Nicholas laughed.

Lyoko

A tower activated in the desert sector.

Bathroom

Herb entered the room to find the three brushing their teeth.

"You actually went to see Adventure in the Tropics Harry?" asked Odd.

"Of course he hasn't," said Ulrich. "He's rather be working on you know what."

"You make me sick, Stern! You really think you're hot stuff, I'm going to knock that smile right of your face!" yelled Herb as he advanced on Harry.

"Oh yeah? Well go on then! What are you waiting for?" asked Harry. "Or are you talking about my brother?"

Herb attempted to attack,HArry, missed and hits the basin instead of Harry.

"HEEEEEEYA! AH! Ohhhh…"

"That has got to hurt," said Harry. Odd sniggered as he mumbled something.

"What?" asked Ulrich.

"I said jealousy makes people go bananas!"

"Yeah, and love plays tricks with your mind!" said Ulrich.

"Great! I gotta go and get Aelita! I promised to give her my croissants. She likes croissants with her hot chocolate!" said Jeremy as he walked away.

"What were you saying about love? What does it do to people's minds?" asked Odd.

"Looks like there are no exceptions to the rule," said Ulrich. Harry rubbed his head.

"And we need to keep an eye out for Xana. He's planning something."

"Speaking of hot chocolate, I need to get moving," said Odd as they walked into the showers. "I've finally got a date with Heidi!"

"You're going to give her your croissants?" asked Ulrich.

"You must be joking!" exclaimed Odd. "A guy's gotta eat, doesn't he?"

A socket sparked and a spectre came out of it.

Outside

Heidi waited outside as Jeremy walked past.

"Jeremy, have you seen Odd?" she asked. "We were doing to have breakfast together."

Jeremy kissed her as the other three boys walked towards them. They halted and Harry looked at Jeremy closely. Jeremy ran off.

"I can't believe that," said Odd.

"That wasn't Jeremy," said Harry. "Just a clone from our friend and attempted controller Xana."

Yumi

Yumi walked over to a boy.

"Hey there Yumi. You wouldn't have the answers to the maths questions would you?"

She kissed him as William walked by. He stared.

"Oh wow. I'm sure glad I brushed my teeth today."

Jeremy

"Jeremy? Would you mind telling me why you kissed me in front of Odd?!" asked Heidi as she walked over to him and Aelita.

"What are you talking about?" asked a consumed Jeremy. "Are you out of your mind?"

She huffed and stormed off. Aelita walked off too.

"Aelita!"

Lunch Hall

"Hey everyone! Slide over and make me some room," said Jeremy as he walked over to the group.

"Don't you want to sit with Heidi?" asked Odd. "She's all by herself!"

"Hm?"

"How many times do I have to tell you Odd," groaned Harry. "That wasn't Jeremy. It was a clone!"

"Listen. I don't know what this is about but I swear to you…" trailed off Jeremy as he sat down and Aelita stood up.

"You know something?" asked Odd. "You threw me a real curveball there, Mister Romantic!"

He walked off too.

"But I…" he sighed.

"I'm going to check out Lyoko," said Harry. "I think it's our friend Xana doing this."

He stood up and walked away.

"I guess you won't be needing this croissant," said Ulrich as he picked it up and walked away. "Later."

"Hey Ulrich! Glad I ran into you. In case you haven't heard the latest news, Yumi is going out with Matthias Durel!" said William as the four walked out of the building.

"What?!"

"Morning, everyone!" said Yumi as she walked over and took the croissant from Ulrich. "Hey, thanks Ulrich!"

"So uh, you really like Durel, do you?" asked Ulrich.

"He's a nice guy, why?"

"How does he kiss, huh?" asked William.

"Kiss? How should I know?"

"William just said that you're going out with him," said Harry. "Which I don't believe and I think it's something acting up. First Jeremy and Heidi and now you and Durel. It's too consistent."

They separated.

"Uh, rumour has it I'm dating Matthias Durel?" asked Yumi as Jeremy walked out.

"No kidding! Rumour has it that I kissed Heidi Klinger!"

"Hm? …huh? Croissant?" asked Yumi.

"I'm not hungry…"

Toilets

Yumi entered the toilets and the eye of Xana glowed on her head as she turned to smoke and reformed as Harry.

Outside

"Harry will never go out with you. Ulrich said so, I heard him!" said Herb to Sissi. "Speak of the devil there he is. Why don't you ask him?"

Harry arrived and kissed Sissi right in front of Yumi and Jeremy.

"What were you saying?" asked Sissi gleefully.

"How does he do it? What does he have that I don't?!" asked Herb.

"Everything! Except for your gross pimples!" said Nicholas.

"I dare you to say that again!" Herb attempted to hit Nicholas but missed.

"Hey Yumi? Everything ok?" asked Sissi as she walked past. The bell rang.

Class

"Aelita, can we talk?" asked Jeremy as she walked past.

"We're in class!" said Aelita, glaring at him.

"Why did you kiss Heidi?" asked Ulrich as he sat down behind Jeremy.

"I did not kiss Heidi," said Jeremy as Harry sat down next to him.

"I saw you," said Ulrich. "So did Harry. It wasn't a nice thing to do to Odd."

"And what about you Harry? Kissing Sissi?" asked Jeremy.

"What?!" asked Harry. "I didn't kiss Sissi! Xana's doing this. He's created a clone of us to separate the group."

"I saw you do it Harry."

"So my first question is: when did Gallieni die? Well class, I'm waiting! Ulrich, uh, when did Gallieni die?" asked the teacher.

"Uh! Um…well…um…at the end of his life?" asked Ulrich. The class laughed as the teacher looked at him.

Outside.

Jim was patrolling the school.

"Stern? You should be in class!"

Harry jogged behind a building and Yolanda appeared.

"Oh…is that you, Yolanda?" asked Jim. "Hehe…"

Yolanda kissed Jim. The bell rang.

"Hey Aelita!" called Jeremy as she stood next to Nicholas. He waved at her. She kissed Nicholas.

Dorms

"Jeremy? You wanted to talk to me?" asked Aelita as he passed the door.

"Yeah. Let's talk about you and Nicolas!"

"Huh?" asked Aelita.

"I sure hope he's better at kissing than he is at math!" continued Jeremy.

"What are you talking about?" asked Aelita. "I never kissed Nicolas!"

"I don't believe this! First you kiss the biggest loser in the whole school, and then you lie about it?!" asked Jeremy incredulously.

"But Jeremy…trust me!"

"Incredible! You make a fool of me in public, then you lie to me, and now you expect me to trust you?!" asked Jeremy angrily. "How could you do that? You really let me down! You have no idea how much, even…"

He entered his door and lay down on his bed. Aelita ran off.

Lab

"I was right, as always," muttered Harry as he looked at the results of the Superscan and sent them to Jeremy. "Now, let's get the show on the road!"

He set up the delayed virtualisation program and ran to the scanners.

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

"Huh?" Jeremy looked at the results of the scan. "Oh no. Why is Harry always right?"

He called Ulrich.

"Xana's attacking!"

"Alright. Let's meet in the park."

Jeremy ended the call and called Aelita.

"Hello, this is Aelita. Leave me a message."

"Of all the times."

Park

Jeremy ran over. "I can explain everything. All this kissing…is another one of Xana's schemes!
Harry was right, like always."

"That doesn't make any sense, he can't control us!" reminded Odd.

"I know that. But I also know that I did not kiss Heidi! So there must be a Jeremy clone somewhere!" said Jeremy.

"And a Yumi clone!" said Yumi.

"And a Harry clone, also!" said Ulrich. "Where is he?"

"Right. And I bet they're all just one big polymorphic clone!" exclaimed Jeremy. "I would guess Harry is on Lyoko right now."

"A poly-what?" asked Odd.

"A polymorphic clone," repeated Jeremy. "It can change its shape at will. Xana must have sent a kind of ghost that can look like whoever it wants too."

"But why?" asked Ulrich then slapped himself. "To make trouble of course. Divide and conquer. That's smart. And Harry's on Lyoko alone. What if a Scyphozoa gets him?"

"I guess Odd was right," said Jeremy. "Jealously makes people crazy."

"Let's go to Lyoko and back Harry up," said Odd. "Where's Aelita?

"Gone. And all because of me."

"Oh bravo Jeremy!" said Yumi sarcastically. "Where did she go?"

"I think I might know."

Hermitage

"Aelita?"

"Jeremy?"

"I'm really sorry, Aelita!" apologised the transformed clone.

"You're…not angry with me anymore?" asked Aelita.

"No, I figured it out. You see Xana was using a polymorph than can change its appearance at will."

"So you didn't really kiss Heidi?" asked Aelita as the fake held his hand out.

"No, let's go. We need to get to the factory fast." He pulled Aelita up. "You're not too upset with me, are you?"

He kissed her. "Let's go."

They ran outside.

"Aelita!" exclaimed Jeremy.

"Jeremy? But-"

"It's Xana! He made a clone of me to trick you!" said the clone.

"Don't listen to him Aelita, he's Xana!" exclaimed Jeremy.

"If I've got this straight, one of these two is the poly-dorking clone, right?" asked Odd.

"The polymorphic clone, Odd!" corrected Yumi.

"Aelita, trust me," said Jeremy.

"Don't listen to him, I'm the real Jeremy! You know that! I kissed you!"

Aelita pulled her hand out of his grasp. "That's right. The real Jeremy would not have kissed me like that!"

He grabbed her again and the group forced him off.

"Don't touch her."

Odd remained as the rest of the group ran to the sewers. The clone changed shape several times before settling as Jim.

"Oh no! Not the big tough guy!"

He got sent into the stairs.

Lyoko

"Oh great," muttered Harry as he looked at himself. "You just had to copy me didn't you Xana?"

"Your species has this saying that says imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," said the clone as they circled in front of the tower.

"That's why I haven't seen any monsters, you were waiting for me to turn up here."

The clone nodded.

"And this is your way of getting my attention. You want to talk."

"I'm launching the virtualisation process," said Jeremy from thin air. "Transfer Yumi. Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Aelita. Scanner Yumi. Sinner Ulrich. Scanner Aelita. Virtualisation."

"Why do you even bother telling them about my attacks?" asked the clone. "They never listen then they act all surprised when you finally detect the tower."

"Because I want to warn them, even if they don't listen. They are my friends and if you have any understanding of humans, you'd know that they're important to us."

"And they just use you for your skills in programming and fighting," said the clone as its mouth twitched. "You know that's true."

"Who are you talking to Harry?" asked Jeremy.

"Myself. Are you getting this Jeremy?"

"I'm getting your side."

The other three ran down the path.

"Stay back," said Harry. "I don't know what he's going to do."

They paused.

"You can't reach your full potential on Earth," continued the clone. "I can help you."

"By possessing me and then using my body as a puppet?" asked Harry. "That doesn't sound like helping."

"This is creepy," said Ulrich as he looked between the two. "They look exactly the same. Apart from the huge symbol on the clone's head"

Odd

"Hey, Xana! If you're going to keep changing appearances like that, do me a favour and turn into a wimp next time!" said Odd as he was kicked into a settee.

The Ulrich clone turned into Odd.

"Oh no, not him! I know his kind. Small, but tough as nails!" said Odd. The clone kicked him

"What did I tell you?" muttered Odd as he fell unconscious. The clone ran off.

Lyoko

Several monsters appeared and separated Yumi, Ulrich and Aelita from the two Harrys.

"I think Xana wants to fight Harry on his own," said Ulrich.

"We wouldn't be much use if the clone has the same powers as Harry," said Yumi. "They would be fighting on a level well above ours."

An attack hit Yumi.

"Aelita, find cover," ordered Ulrich. "You can't get to the tower with the Harry clone there. He'd devirtualise you in an instant and we'd lose you forever."

He stabbed one of the Krabes as Aelita ran behind some rocks.

"See?" asked the clone as Harry looked at Aelita running away. "She's abandoning you. Just like they always do."

Harry closed his eyes. "She's not. She's protecting herself from the attacks as she can't risk losing her life points."

"You know that's not true," said the clone.

Yumi hit some hornets with her fans. The two backed away. Harry turned his head slightly.

"What is he doing?" asked Ulrich as he glanced over.

"I think the clone is manipulating him," said Jeremy. "He's twisting the truth."

The bridge disappeared. Ulrich took on another swarm of Hornets and Yumi took a tarantula. It knocked Yumi's fans away as Ulrich ran from the Hornets. He blocked their shots.

"You're the guy that everyone wants around when needed but no one listens to," continued the clone. "You're hurting inside. I can see it."

Harry started to tremble.

"I can take away the pain if you work with me."

"Let's swap monsters!" called Ulrich before running to the gap.

"Ok!"

"Harry, don't listen to him," called Ulrich. "He's manipulating you. It's the same thing he does with the Scyphozoa when he tries to possess you!"

"Careful Yumi! Ten O'clock!"

Harry looked at him.

"You're stronger than Xana! You've proved it so many times! Remember when you fought off his influence!"

The tarantula attacked him and he winced. Yumi blocked the Hornet's attack and threw her fans.

"Harry, you have to make a choice," said Jeremy. "Us or Xana. We will stand with you. I'll just materialise the Overwing for Yumi."

The vehicle appeared. Yumi got hit again and jumped on it. Ulrich ran behind the monster and hit it as Aelita came out and ran to the gap.

"Harry, you are my friend," she called. "The first person I saw face to face. The person I can talk to about anything."

Harry glanced at the clone who smiled.

"They can't hurt you when they're far away."

"You mean that Aelita?" asked Harry as he looked at her.

"My cousin! My last remaining family relative that I can count on! Franz may be my dad but he doesn't talk to me or acknowledge me."

Several Hornets attacked Ulrich as Harry closed his eyes again.

"My brother… and my cousin. I can't hurt them."

Yumi threw her fan and hit four hornets.

"You can if you want to. They want to make sure that you don't run around unchecked because of your power. I can let you do that if you help me now. You'll have nothing to worry about. I'll make sure you won't get arrested."

The hornets attacking Ulrich hit the Overwing and devirtualised Yumi.

"Yumi!"

Harry jumped over the gap and defeated the hornets, leaving the clone speechless.

"Nice to have you back with us," said Ulrich. The clone followed Harry and attacked them.

A Scyphozoa appeared and started towards Aelita.

"Ulrich, the Scyphozoa's attacking Aelita! Forget about the clone for now!" ordered Jeremy.

"Hey, it's no picnic out here!" said Ulrich as he defended himself from the clone. "Ah!"

He devirtualised.

Harry went into a fury and attacked the clone.

"That's it. Show me your strength."

"Harry, you have to calm down," said Jeremy desperately. "You're the only one who can get the Scyphozoa away from Aelita. To do that you need to calm down. You are our friend. My best friend."

Aelita backed away from the monster as Harry continued to attack the clone who smiled.

'He's me,' thought Harry as he calmed down. 'The same powers. The same fighting style.'

He jumped away from several shuriken.

'I have to be unpredictable.'

He looked around and saw a shadow. He smiled and ran towards it.

"Coward."

"Oh, I'm not a coward," said Harry. "Ninjas work best…"

He disappeared and reappeared behind the clone. "… In the shadows."

He stabbed it and the clone screamed as it disappeared.

"Good riddance."

Elevator

The polymorphic clone turned into Yumi and walked into the lab.

"You ok Yumi?"

She nodded.

"Harry, I'm going to send you the Overjet."

Yumi electrocuted him.

Lyoko

Harry ran over to Aelita and started to pull her away.

"Thank you Harry."

He smiled. "Just needed a bit of a reminder of my worth. And my brother devirtualising kinda did that. You can't survive without me."

The Scyphozoa picked Aelita up and started to drain her memories at the same time that the other one appeared. Harry cut the one holding Aelita and threw his sword at the other, hitting it in the eye of Xana. It exploded. Harry gaped at it.

"That's all you have to do to get rid of it?"

"Of course." Harry groaned.

"Another clone?" he turned to look at it.

"We didn't finish our talk."

"Jeremy? I thought you were sending me the Overjet?"

Factory

"Ok, poly-whatever, I'm going to transform YOU now!" said Odd as he entered the factory.

Lab

"Yumi!" said Odd as he looked at the two.

"Odd, help me! It's Xana!" said the clone.

"You're not going to believe this polymorph, are you?!" asked Yumi. "This is the second one. Harry faced another on Lyoko."

Odd walked towards Yumi.

"Odd, no! Cut it out, peabrain! I'm the real Yumi!"

"Yeah, right! You expect me to fall for that old one?" asked Odd. "On three, we pulverise you! One…two…three!"

Odd and Yumi attacked the clone.

"Jeremy, you've got to wake up!"

Lyoko

"Harry? What's happening?" asked Jeremy.

"Well, I'm facing my second clone," said Harry as he tried a different tactic by running at Aelita, making the clone smile, and using her shadow. The clone yelled in frustration as it devirtualised.

"Aelita?" asked Jeremy. Yumi and Odd were thrown into the wall behind him.

"I'm…I'm ok…"

"Well I'm not feeling so great!" said Odd.

Aelita ran into the tower and rode to the next level.

"That's very sweet of you Jim…but as I already told you, I'm engaged to be married!" said Yolanda as she saw Jim's flower.

"But if that's true, Yolanda, uh…why'd you kiss me?" asked Jim.

"I…kissed you?"

"Uh-huh, uh-huh!" said Jim as he nodded.

"You should get some rest, Jim. Now be a good boy and let me take your temperature, alright?" asked Yolanda

Outside

"How did you guess I was the real Yumi?" asked Yumi.

"Because you called me peabrain! Xana would never call me that! He's got too much…respect for me!" said Odd.

"Oh no, Xana just doesn't know you as well as Yumi does," said Jeremy. "But he knows Harry better than anyone. The doubts must have been in Harry for Xana to use them against him."

Harry looked at him.

"Jeremy, would you come with me for a minute? I um…I'd like to check something, you mind?" asked Aelita.

"Uh, no, go ahead! Check what?" asked a confused Jeremy. Aelita kissed him. "Ah?!"

"I knew it!"

"Uh, Jeremy! Come back down to Earth! Let's hope that Xana leaves us alone for a little while, I think Jeremy's going to need some time to get over that one, huh guys?" asked Odd.

"I sure hope Xana doesn't," said Harry. "You don't want to be manipulated by him. It's a good thing I didn't attack you."
