The Key

"Hey Einstein," said Odd as the five walked into the lab. "We've been looking for you. What's up with Harry?"

"I've spent the night reading Franz Hopper's diary and Harry watched the parts left for him. He'll tell you when he feels like it. Listen to this."

"Project Carthage was a military program used to block enemy communications… So I built the Supercomputer, created Lyoko, and last of all Xana, to destroy Carthage… I wanted to destroy the Supercomputer, and destroy all evidence of my activities, that's when I discovered one of its fascinating properties: returning to the past. It gave me all the time I could possibly need to perfect my great project! The only thing that would allow me to escape my enemies… The scanners and the virtualisation programs are ready. In a few hours, I will go to Lyoko with Aelita. Just like me, Aelita will hold the Keys to Lyoko. Together, we will be the absolute masters. We will live together, forever… I have left a copy of the Keys of Lyoko in my young nephew so that he may protect Aelita if I fail," said Franz Hopper in his video. Jeremy had fast-forwarded parts.

"He wanted me to protect Aelita if he failed at what he planned," said Harry sadly.

"The Keys to Lyoko. That's what Xana wants to steal from Aelita's memory," said Jeremy as he turned to the group.

"Franz mentioned that when I first met him," said Harry. "Why didn't he try to get my copy?"

"But what could Xana do with them?" asked Ulrich.

"Escape from the Supercomputer…and take over the world…" said Aelita. Sissi clutched Harry.

"After taking control of me," said Harry as he shuddered.

Lunch

"Aelita, you should have stuck around till the end," said Jeremy as they sat down next to her.

"Take it easy on her," said Harry as he rubbed Aelita's shoulder. "She just found out that her dad created the program that caused all of our adventures. That has to be hard."

"I didn't have the time to tell you the best news of all," continued Jeremy. "It turns out I've been wrong all along!"

"You have? Why?" asked a confused Ulrich.

"I thought that Xana had given Aelita a virus, so I've been looking for an antivirus. But thanks to Franz Hopper's diary, I finally understand: Xana didn't give her anything at all. In fact, he took something from her," explained Jeremy.

"He did? But what?" asked Yumi.

"I don't really know yet. It's a fragment that belongs to her. I've located it in Sector 5," admitted Jeremy.

"We could go and get it tonight, after the end-of-year dance!" exclaimed Odd.

"Awesome! It'll be our final mission! And then it's time for a well-earned, real vacation!" said Ulrich eagerly.

"And then I don't have to worry about Harry being possessed," said Sissi.

"Out of the question!" said Aelita as she stood up and walked off.

Outside

"Aelita! Wait! What's the matter?" called Jeremy as Aelita walked away. Harry joined him.

"I refuse to set foot on Lyoko ever again!"

"Why? What's gotten into you?" asked Jeremy as the two walked over to her.

"My father stole my life from me! He was a totally crazy second-rate magician. Because of him, I'm nothing…I'm no-one…"

"That's not true," said Harry as he hugged her. "You're Aelita Stones."

"All of that is behind you now," said Jeremy. "We can recover the fragment and shut down the supercomputer. You can make a new life."

"What if it goes wrong?" asked Aelita as she pulled herself out of Harry's hugged. "What if Xana gets hold of the Key to Lyoko?"

Harry glanced at Jeremy, make a clone and turned invisible.

Later

"Right, for all you party animals with short memory spans, I'd like to remind you that, uh…what was I saying? Oh yeah! During the end-of-the-year dance, any overly suggestive dancing, wild behaviour or troublemaking will be severely punished! Uh, that's all, enjoy yourselves," said Jim as class came out.

"So far, I don't have anyone to take to the dance! Fortunately, I've got a way with women! Hi! Want to go to the dance with me?" asked Odd to Magali.

"I told you never to speak to me again!" said and angry Magali.

"Oh, sorry!"

"Want to go with me Yumi?" asked Ulrich.

"Of course."

"Hi, Yumi! Can I talk to you for a second?" asked William as he dragged her away. "I…"

Ulrich rolled his eyes. "When will he get the memo?"

"Will you go with me Harry?" asked Sissi. Harry pecked her one the lips.

"Of course."

Supercomputer

Aelita walked into the room and pressed the button for the power switch. She gripped it when someone grabbed her hand.

"You don't want to do that Aelita."

"Go away Harry."

"I won't allow you to throw away your life," said Harry as he reappeared.

"The world is at risk with me and my memory, you know that."

"You know that the same could be said about me. Xana wants me for the override code I contain. He also wants the powers I hold."

Aelita pulled her hand out of his grasp and pulled the lever down. She collapsed.

Kadic

"Have you seen Aelita?" asked Jeremy.

"No," said Ulrich as Odd played a game.

"There's no answer on her phone and the supercomputer isn't responding either."

"Go find Harry," suggested Odd. "He followed her right?"

Yumi walked over.

"Ready for tonight?" She asked.

"Yoohoo, Harry! Here, for you!" called Sissi then she paused. "Where is he?"

"I don't know!"

"Hm…" said Odd.

"One more of your stupid proverbs, and you are dead!" growled Ulrich.

"Ulrich has lost his head, and should've stayed in bed!" Oh, wait, wait, wait, I've got another one! "Go with Sissi and your future's gloomy because you're going to lose Yumi!" suggested Odd.

"I'm not going with Sissi!"

Lab

Jeremy connected to the supercomputer. "What happened?"

The doors opened to reveal Harry carrying Aelita.

"Aelita! Answer me! Come on! Wake up!" said Jeremy worriedly as he ran over and shook Aelita.

"Uh…"

"You're insane! Why did you do that?!" asked Jeremy as he looked at Harry. "Why did you let her?"

"I tried to stop her but she had her mind set."

"To save the world…to save you all," said Aelita.

"Some people don't need to be saves Aelita."

"We'll save it together! And then you'll have your whole life in front of you! A brand new life!" said Jeremy as Sissi walked in.

"For you Harry!" She gave him a box.

"What is it?" asked Harry.

"A surprise! See you tonight!"

Kadic

"You should get ready! Your girlfriend's going to be waiting for you," said Odd.

"Drop it, Odd! You know I'll get ready in my own time."

"Ok, I'm outta here! Who knows, maybe I'll bump into a lonely heart!" said Odd as he walked out. Ulrich went to the wardrobe and started going through clothes.

Yumi's house

"Is Yumi home?" asked Ulrich as Hiroki answered the door.

"YUMIIII! YOUR BOYFRIEND'S HEEEERE!" yelled Hiroki.

"Beat it, Hiroki!" said Yumi as Hiroki ran off laughing. "Well then? Ready to go?"

"Yep," said Ulrich as he took her hand and walked down to the gate as his phone rang.

"Aren't you going to get that?" asked Yumi.

"Yes?"

"It's me? You at the dance?" asked Jeremy.

"Not yet."

"Come to the factory. It's mission time. Let Odd and Yumi know too. Harry, Aelita and Sissi are with me."

They looked at each other.

"Let's try to get Aelita and Jeremy together," said Yumi.

KAdic

"Hi! Want to go to the dance with me?" Odd asked a random girl.

"Uh…alright! My name's Carla!" introduced the girl.

"I'm Odd!"

"Odd…Della Robbia?" asked Carla.

"The one and only!"

"Uh, I'm sorry, I'm already seeing someone!" she walked off.

"Uh…oh…"

Odd's phone rang.

"Odd, you at the dance?" asked Ulrich.

"Uh, yeah, well…I mean, almost…"

"Right, urgent meeting. Come to the factory, we're taking the plunge!"

"Oh man, just when I finally almost found a girl to go with!" muttered Odd.

Lab

"This is the big one, guys! We're going to recover Aelita's fragment, and get rid of Xana once and for all!" said Jeremy as he briefed the rest.

"Let's go, then! I'll lead the way!" said Odd.

"I'll be glad to get rid of Xana," said Harry. "I hate being manipulated."

The six walked down to the scanners.

"Be careful. Transfer Harry. Transfer Sissi. Transfer Aelita. Scanner Harry. Scanner Aelita. Scanner Sissi. Virtualisation! Transfer Odd. Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Yumi. Scanner Odd. Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Yumi. Virtualisation!"

Lyoko

They looked around for any signs of monsters.

"Everybody alright?"

"I just want to get rid of Xana," said Harry.

"I'm programming your vehicles. The edge of the sector is north, north east. Any monsters?"

"Nope," said Odd as they shot off in the right direction.

"It's quiet," said Harry. "Too quiet."

"Don't worry Harry," said Sissi. "Xana probably doesn't realise we're here."

"Xana wasn't expecting us," agreed Jeremy.

"Enter the code," said Aelita as they jumped off their vehicles and walked to the edge.

"Ok. All aboard for sector five."

The ball picked them up and took them to Sector Five.

"Oh!" muttered Odd.

"What's wrong with you, you feel like throwing up as usual?" asked Ulrich.

"No, I don't! That's what I can't understand!" said Odd.

"Don't worry," said Sissi. "You got used to coming here."

"Everybody ready?" asked Jeremy. "I'm going to enter the coordinates of the room where Aelita's fragments are."

They ran to the wall and waited.

"Three minutes to find the key."

"I see it," said Yumi as she pointed at it.

"Out of reach as always," said Odd. Harry pulled out his wings and flew over. "That's one way to doing it."

Creepers started to fire upon them as Harry pressed the key. He then threw a single shuriken which expanded and destroyed all the Creepers. More appeared.

"Hi there Creepers! Still as ugly as ever, huh?" asked Odd as he threw himself into the fight. He shot at the Creepers as Yumi and Ulrich blocked the shots. Sissi fired as well. Soon they were all destroyed. An opening revealed itself in the floor.

"Want to see how low you can go, huh guys?" asked Odd.

"I thought you were going to lead the way! Go on!" encouraged Jeremy. They ran down the steps.

"Jeremy, there's something shining over there," said Ulrich. "Can you see what it is Harry?"

"I think it's Aelita's fragment," said Harry.

"That's it Harry!"

They started to run. Yumi was hit by a Creeper but Odd shot it as another one came. Harry chucked his sword at it and picked it back up as the Creeper blew up.

"Harry, Sissi, take Aelita to the fragment," said Ulrich. "Let us deal with these monsters."

They nodded and ran. The three started to fight but more and more Creepers appeared.

Harry, Aelita and Sissi stopped at a gap. Harry pulled Aelita onto his back and they flew over.

"We'd better not hang around," said Yumi as another batch of Creepers appeared. Odd stayed to keep the Creepers off their backs but he was devirtualised. Ulrich and Yumi tried to jump but the missed. Harry grabbed them and pulled them up. Yumi was hit and she devirtualised as well.

"Yumi and Odd are down," said Ulrich.

"I know. Get Aelita's fragment. The whole room id falling apart."

They ran and nearly fell but some Eagles appeared and carried them to safety.

"Did you do that Harry?" asked Ulrich.

"No. I think it was Franz."

"Jeremy, it's getting worse," called Ulrich as they continued to the platform.

"Oh no, it's getting better," said Jeremy as Odd and Yumi walked in. a piece of the roof fell off and hit Sissi, squashing her.

"Sissi!"

"You're crazy! What's going on?!" asked Ulrich.

"It's Franz Hopper who's controlling the Eagles! He must have access to them somehow."

They hopped off at the base of the stairs leading to the platform. Harry pulled Aelita up.

"This is amazing," said Jeremy.

Aelita walked over and touched the ball. It exploded.

"A trap!"

The rest of the room started to cave in. Harry pressed his hands to his head and glowed green. The fragments stopped.

"Do something Jeremy. I can't hold this forever."

A fragment slipped and devirtualised Ulrich. Aelita looked around as the rest of the room collapsed and Harry fell to his knees.

"Help me!"

"Aelita! Behind you."

Two Scyphozoas arrived and picked the two up.

"I don't think Harry will come out of this," said Jeremy. "He's weakened mentally form the telekinesis. I don't believe it."

"There wasn't anything I could do…" said Ulrich sadly as he walked in. "And now we've lost Harry."

"No!" Aelita's memory dropped to zero at the same time Harry was let go. Aelita landed on the floor and didn't move. Harry looked at her and smiled. The eye of Xana showed in his eyes.

"Aelita's…de…dead…!" sobbed Jeremy. The sector turned dark and towers started to glow red. "And Harry is under Xana's control."

Sissi covered her mouth and wept.

"What's going on?" asked Yumi.

"Xa…Xana…got what he wanted. He has the Keys to Lyoko and Harry's override code. He'll be able to get out of the Supercomputer…" sobbed Jeremy. Ulrich shook.

"I don't believe it.

A pink ball appeared and engulfed Harry. When Harry reappeared, he collapsed and his eye returned to normal. It then touched Aelita.

Flashback

"Sis you see mom?" asked a young Aelita.

"Don't go too far?" called a pink haired woman. "Don't forget we're expecting your aunt, uncle and cousin."

"Oh, he's so cute! What should I call him?" asked a young Aelita as the memory changed.

"What about Mister Puck?" asked Franz. "It means goblin."

"Do you like him?" asked Aelita's mum.

"Oh thank you, Mummy!" Aelita hugged her as a bell rang.

"That must be them."

She left and returned with a man, woman and a baby. Aelita looked at them.

"Are you my aunt and uncle?"

They nodded.

"This is your cousin."

He looked at her. "'Lita!"

The scene changed again.

"It's like maths. Let me show you," said Franz as Aelita held Harry in her arms.

"Mommy?"

The scene changed again. Aelita rode her bike down a path and entered the Hermitage.

"Daddy?"

"Lita!"

"Hey Harry. It's a good thing you and your parents stay with us so you were protected, wasn't it?"

"I'm sorry to tell you Aelita that Harry's parents were killed today. I arrived to see the man who killed them attempt to kill Harry but he was defeated."

"I'm going to my room."

Harry crawled after her. Aelita looked out her window to see the men in black.

"Alright, come out of there!" they ordered.

"Daddy! The men in black are here!" cried Aelita. "What are we going to do?"

"I know. I have plans for us and Harry. Do you remember where Mister Puck is?"

"Yes…"

"Come quickly!"

They ran through the sewers, going above ground to drop Harry off in an alleyway. A man and woman walked own and picked him up as they hid. They went back into the sewers to the lab.

"Where are we?" asked Aelita.

"My lab. Come on."

"Where?" asked Aelita.

"To a world where we will be safe! You and I, forever!"

The scene changed to the scanners.

"See you in a minute, honey."

"See you in a minute, Daddy."

Aelita woke up as Harry held her in his arms.

"You looked after me when my parents died?" he asked.

"You were always a bright child. I'm sorry for the events I caused. Your parents found France much freer than England. They fought a bad man that found them here and killed them so he could get to you."

"What's going on, Jeremy?!" asked Ulrich.

"It's Franz Hopper…he's bringing Lyoko back to life!"

They gasped. Sector 5 lit up again and the red towers became white.

"Look, it's incredible!" said Yumi.

"Franz Hopper is saving his daughter! And his nephew!"

"To the scanner room! Quick!" ordered Jeremy as the two returned to Earth.

Scanners

The two collapsed.

"Jeremy…" Jeremy hugged Aelita as Ulrich and Sissi hugged Harry.

Later

"Right…would…someone please say something funny before I have a heart attack?" asked Odd.

"Oh…my father sacrificed himself for me and Harry…and we don't even know if he's still on Lyoko!" said Aelita sadly.

"I can have a look around, sometime," offered Harry. "He got me out of Xana's' control as well. Right, Lita?"

Aelita hugged him.

"Fine. Excuse me while I have my heart attack," said Odd as he lay down.

"All of those memories of your life on earth… that was the fragment Xana took from you," said Jeremy. "To bind you to him. Franz Hopper gave them back to you as well as giving Harry a gift it seems."

"Now you're free, Aelita! But unfortunately, so is Xana…" said Ulrich.

"What are we going to do?" asked Sissi.

"Shutting the Supercomputer down is not going to kill Xana anymore… I want to know what we are going to do too," said Yumi.

"Same as always, we'll fight! Xana may have become more powerful, but I don't think he's invincible! If he attacks, we'll counter-attack! We'll find a way to get rid of Xana for good," said Jeremy. "We do have the best programmer in the school helping us."

Harry nodded. "I want to get rid of Xana too. He's the reason lita died. But there's some good. Franz Hopper was the reason I was brought to the Sterns."

"And we'll do everything we can to find Franz Aelita," said Yumi.

"Well, I can help with the staff," said Sissi. "Being the principal's daughter has its benefits."

"You're right. The fight has to go on! After all…fighting Xana is my job," said Aelita.

"No, Aelita, it's our job," said Jeremy.

"We'll do it together," said Harry as the seven held hands.

"Harry, you were smart as a kid," said Aelita as she looked at him. "You could walk by the time you were six months so…"

"It stands to reason that Xana would take an interest in me," said Harry. "Franz took me to Lyoko a day before you went there. He wanted me to be safe too. That's when Franz freed me the first time. He showed me that."

"If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have such an awesome brother," said Ulrich. Everyone smiled.
