Straight To Heart

Jeremy, Yumi, Sissi and Aelita sat in the lab.

"Welcome back campers," said Aelita as the other three walked in.

"Two weeks without us, not too long?" asked Ulrich.

"Did you miss me a little, ladies?" asked Odd.

"Has Xana acted up?" asked Harry as Sissi threw herself on him. "I hope he hasn't."

"I missed you so much!" she cried.

"Forget it," said Yumi. "You could have stayed away three weeks. Xana attacks, zero."

"He's been waiting for me," said Harry. "He knows that he can't complete his plans without me."

"Stop being silly Harry," said Jeremy. "Though I must admit that he's been planning."

"A nice quiet summer, huh?" asked Odd.

"Kind of," said Jeremy. "Ever since Xana found a way to leave the supercomputer, he's accessed the world wide web. We haven't heard anything."

"No news is good news, right?" asked Ulrich.

"That's what you think. I trust Xana as far as I can throw him!" said Jeremy. "Which is why I reprogramed the Superscan. From now on, we'll know where he's hiding."

"He's planning something," said Harry. "Do you want me to check?"

Jeremy nodded and Harry looked over the programming, correcting any errors.

"That's great Einstein," said Odd. "But how is that going to help?"

"Well, first of all we could find out how he plans to use the internet."

"Lots of computers are connected to the internet," said Harry. "He could use any one of them."

"Cool," said Ulrich as he spoke over Harry. "Then you can send in us after him."

"That's about it," said Jeremy. "But getting you into the internet isn't easy. So let's find out what he wants first."

Harry looked at him. "I'll help."

Jeremy launched the scan and it showed Xana was in South America.

"Lovely," said Harry. "He's on another continent."

"Let me remind you that we have to pick up our schedules," said Odd. "So let's move."

"Want to go out later?" asked Ulrich to Yumi as they walked out.

"Sure. I'm sure Harry will be willing to lend us some money."

Kadic

"It's good to be back," said Harry. "Saving the world and all that."

"We have to wait for Xana to attack first," said Sissi. "By the way, Odd isn't in our class anymore. I tried to get him put in but Jim was insistent."

"Thanks for trying," said Harry.

"You're welcome."

"Hello Harry. You know we're in the same class again? I hope Sissi comes to her senses," said Herb as he stalked over to him.

"Senses?" asked Odd. "I think she has considering she's stopped hanging out with you."

"Have yourself a good laugh Odd, enjoy it! Get it out of your system because in a few seconds you're going to be crying," said Herb as he attempted to punch Odd. The boy dodged.

"Ewww! Did you just see that?! He just tried to attack me!" asked Odd as Yumi, Jeremy and Aelita look disappointed. "Hey, why so sad?"

"You're not in the same class as we are…" Jeremy said slowly.

"I'm not?!"

"If Xana attacks, what do we do?" asked Aelita.

"Don't worry Lita," said Jeremy. "We'll sort it out."

"Only Harry can call me Lita."

"It's going to be complicated," said Harry. "Jim owes me a few favors."

"What's more, I won't be able to copy off you," said Odd. "Though I haven't' done that in months."

"You've been getting good grades on your own?" asked Yumi.

"Harry's tutoring really helps. There's something I need to do."

"What's that?" asked Jeremy.

"See you."

"Hey Yumi," said William as the bell went. "It's great to see you again. Did you have a good vacation?"

Yumi and Ulrich looked at each other.

"It would have been better if Ulrich was there," said Yumi as she pecked Ulrich on the check.

Later

"I really have to see him ma'am," Odd pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Odd. Mr Delmas is not seeing any students this morning," said Ms Weber as she folded her arms.

"I'm not here as a student, I'm…here as a friend," said Odd.

"A friend?" asked Ms Weber.

"Uh, yes! I mean as a friend of Sissi's!"

"I see what I can do." She picked up the phone. "Sorry sir, Odd Della Robbia insists on seeing you."

Lunch Hall

"Jim wants to start up a basketball team this year. Seems he played pro ball…" said Ulrich.

"But he would rather not talk about it," said Sissi, Aelita, Harry, Yumi and Jeremy.

"Well, what did you want to tell me?" asked Ulrich. "You mentioned something."

"Hello!" said Hiroki as he popped out of nowhere.

"Where you just pulling a Harry on me?" asked Ulrich. "Is this what you were wanting to talk about Yumi?"

Yumi nodded. "Hiroki, what do you want?"

"Just wanted to say hello. Aren't you going to introduce me?"

"No!"

"Cool it sis. I'm just going to introduce my new pal, Johnny."

"Listen Hiroki, just because you're in Junior High now doesn't mean that you can follow me around, ok?"

"You'd better be mice or I'll tell dad when you come home late."

Yumi growled.

"What a dork!"

"Your sister is really gorgeous."

"She's going out with Ulrich."

Principal's Office

"So it seems my Elisabeth has a problem?" asked Delmas.

"Well sir, when she found out that we weren't in the same class this year, she just flipped," said Odd.

"I see. That explains her actions ever since the start of the holidays but there's not much I can do."

"I'm sorry to contradict you but if you put us in the same class, the problem's solved."

"Im possible, it's too complicated to change classes. And in addition, Mr Morales was quite clear when he requested that Stern, Stern, Belpois and you be separated."

"Jim?! But why?!" asked Odd.

"I have no idea, why not ask him?" asked Delmas.

Classroom

The Superscan created a more in-depth scan of where Xana was hiding as Jeremy tapped his finger impatiently.

"Fantastic! The Superscan has located Xana," said Jeremy when it finally found him.

"Know we know where my attempter possessor is hiding," said Harry.

"I'm off to the factory to find out more," continued Jeremy.

"I'll go too," said Aelita as she followed him. Harry stood up too along with Sissi and walked out.

Jim's room

"Jim? Can I come in?" asked Odd as he knocked on the door. He entered. "As usual, he's never there when you need him. Hm…pretty funky there, Jim!"

Lab

"Uh oh."

"What's wrong Jeremy?" asked Aelita.

"We've got company. Xana has sent a ton of monsters to sector five."

"He's probably mad that we found him," said Aelita.

"That could be it," said Jeremy. "Then what is he planning with all of those monsters?"

Harry peered over at the display then paled.

"We need to get rid of those monsters like five minutes ago!"

"Why?" asked Aelita.

"That room they're in."

"So?" asked Jeremy. "It's just a room."

Harry looked at him. "The room that holds Lyoko's core."

"Oh. Get to the scanners then. I'll warn the others."

Ulrich

"So, what did William want to say to you?" asked Ulrich as his phone went off. "Jeremy…ok, we're on our way.… Xana's attacking Yumi."

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

"Jim Morales, disco film, enter! Haha! Bingo! Hahaha!" said Odd as he looked at the results. "Paco, king of Disco! Now I see why you'd rather not talk about it, Mr Morales! Our gum teacher really worked the dance floor."

He made a copy as his phone rang. "Yeah? Be right there."

He ran out with the disc.

"Oh, Jim. Just the man I wanted to see."

"Oh really?" asked Jim. "What about?"

"Disco."

"Oh, I was good at that back in the old days."

"Oh, groovy. I guess you'd know all about the film. Paco, the King of Disco," said Odd as he grinned.

"Uh…uh, no! Never heard of it!" said an obviously lying Jim.

"Oh no?" asked Odd. "It's a fantastic film! I was going to submit it to Gustave Chardin for his film club!"

"Uhh…I'm not sure that dud is worth showing at a film club," said Jim.

"Oh! So then you have seen it, Jim?" asked Odd as his grin widened.

"Uh…yeah! No! I mean I-I'd rather not talk about it!"

"Sure, no problem. You know, I got really interested in the film club because…I'm pretty lonesome now that all my friends are in a different class, if you get what I'm driving at," said Odd.

"Give me that right now!" Jim tried to grab the disc but Odd slipped through the doors.

Lab

"Get down to the scanners guys," said Jeremy as Ulrich and Yumi appeared. "We have a problem. Harry, Sissi and Aelita are already there."

"I must stop you from hiding Harry," said Dumbledore as he appeared with a crack. "Where is he?"

"Go away old man," said Jeremy as he turned to the computer. "He's out of your reach."

"He's making a fool out of me by not coming."

Ulrich rolled his eyes and hit the man on the back of the head. "I take it we're returning to the past?"

Odd came in panting.

"About time," said Jeremy as they looked at him. "We need you on Lyoko."

The three walked down to the Scanners.

"Transfer Odd. Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Yumi. Scanner Odd. Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Yumi. Virtualisation."

Lyoko

"Here we go," said Harry as Odd landed on the Overboard. Yumi and Ulrich climbed on their vehicles and the headed for the edge of the sector.

"What took you so long?" asked Ulrich.

"I think I found a way to get back into your class," said Odd.

"You did?" asked Yumi. "How?"

"It's easy! I decided to blackmail Jim!" called Odd.

"Blackmail Jim? But with what?" asked Aelita.

"I know a secret he's rather not talk about…and that he doesn't want anyone else to talk about either!"

"You know what?" asked Ulrich. "I think blackmail's really lame!"

"Whoa! Since when did you get so high and mighty?" asked Odd. "The end justifies the means, doesn't it?"

"No!" said the others.

"Thanks for the support guys."

They stopped at the edge.

"Get into position and I'll enter the code," said Jeremy. The orb appeared and scooped them up.

"So, where are these monsters?" asked Ulrich.

"Below your feet, in a room we haven't been to before."

"What are they doing there?" asked Yumi.

"Harry thinks the room contains the core of Lyoko. If that's true, we have a problem."

"Can we get thought here?" asked Ulrich.

"No. the access is through the celestial dome. Hurry up."

"There's nothing celestial about that dome," muttered Harry as they started to move again.

"Key in sight," said Odd as they appeared across form it. Sissi started to fly across. Odd attempted to jump but missed. He climbed back up using his claws. Harry turned into Sissi and flew across to her.

"Is that what I look like?" asked Sissi as she studied it. Harry nodded.

"I thought I had my A game going," said Odd as he reached the top. Ulrich and Aelita joined him.

"Not yet," said Aelita as she continued. She reached the key before Harry and Sissi and pressed it.

"Nice one Aelita."

"I think you'd get here ASAP." The room began to rearrange itself. Ulrich. Yumi, Sissi and Harry made it across. Odd missed.

"Your hand," said Ulrich as he reached for him. Odd managed to get up before a platform. "Looks like you've got your Z game going today!"

"Lay off, will you? …did you talk to her?" asked Odd. "Ask her about William?"

"Lay off, will you?"

"Where's the elevator?" asked Yumi as they ran out.

"That's good. There are more and more monsters. I've got a bad feeling about this."

"What is the core of Lyoko?" asked Sissi.

"Exactly what it says on the tin. The core of Lyoko."

They jumped on the elevator and ran out to the surface.

"Where do we go now?" asked Ulrich.

"Down," said Harry.

"The south pole of the dome," said Jeremy. "That's how you get into the chamber."

Harry rolled his eyes, called up his interface and the Overjet appeared. The others did the same.

"Hey, maybe that's the place where Xana has his annual monster's ball," suggested Odd. "We haven't seen any yet."

"Right but look over there," said Ulrich as they climbed aboard their vehicles. Three mantas appeared. Odd and Ulrich attacked the same one.

"How about that?" asked Odd. "Bulls eye."

"Get real man, that was me who got him," said Odd. Sissi hit another.

"This is no time to compete with each other," said Jeremy. "Move out."

They headed south with the last manta following them.

"Hang on Aelita," said Yumi as she blocked the shots.

"Can you see the access?" asked Jeremy.

"There's a valve," said Harry as he and Yumi flew through.

"What are you guys doing?" asked Jeremy. "Harry, Sissi, Yumi and Aelita are already in the passage."

"We're playing a XYZ game," said Ulrich.

"If the monster would stop for a minute!" Odd's arrows reloaded.

"I get the picture."

Odd jumped on top of the manta and started to ride it.

"Nutcase!" said Ulrich as he saw Odd riding it. Odd flew the manta into the valve and Ulrich caught him. The cat had managed to defeat the last manta.

"Not bad."

"Odd and Ulrich are in the tunnel," said Jeremy as they flew up it.

"At last," said Sissi.

"Now we can trip the mechanism and go," said Yumi.

"Hi! How are you ladies?" asked Odd. Harry coughed. "And boy."

"A little impatient," said Aelita as she tripped the mechanism. Stairs formed and they hopped up them.

"I think we're here," said Yumi as they ran onto a level platform.

"Can you see the monsters?" asked Jeremy. "What are they doing?"

"They're firing at some sort of blue ball," said Ulrich as they looked up.

"If Xana wants it destroyed, it must be important," said Jeremy.

"I was right," said Harry. "It's the core of Lyoko!"

"Ok, then it's down with the Creepers," said Odd as they started to climb up.

"I'm going to try to find out more about that sphere."

Creepers started to fire at them.

"I'll handle these two," said Yumi as she stopped and pulled out her fans. Sissi stopped as well and took out the mantas. Yumi took out the tow lowest down creepers. She got hit several times and devirtualised.

"Yumi!"

"Forget it," said Odd as he hit a Creeper. "Concentrate on our monster friends. This isn't just an A game, it's an A +."

A manta turned up and devirtualised Odd. Harry took out the manta.

"Thanks Harry!"

"I don't believe it," muttered Jeremy. "Harry was right. Again. You four, whatever you do, you've got to stop the Creepers from destroying the sphere!"

"Why?" asked Ulrich.

"Because that is the heart of Lyoko! The direct access to all the core programs of the virtual world! If the monsters destroy it, it's game over for good for Lyoko," explained Jeremy. "I don't think even Harry could reprogram it."

"Not from scratch. I'd need something to base it upon. I should memorise the coding of Lyoko."

A creeper hit Sissi and she devirtualised.

"Hurry up! The core has only two protective layers and the first jut blew."

Ulrich jumped up and defeated a creeper then deflected a laser back at another one. Another Creeper defeated him.

"Aelita, it's your turn now," said Jeremy.

"Her turn for what?" asked Odd. "She can't do anything! Apart from the occasional energy field."

"Watch!"

Aelita fires an energy field at the Creeper as she devirtualised. Harry looked around.

"Can you bring me in? I don't think Xana's sending anymore monsters. The thing that worries me is that I haven't seen a Scyphozoa. Xana wouldn't miss a chance to possess me. I wonder why I was so smart at such a young age…. Magic? Some kind of ritual?"

"How?" asked Odd. "As I remember, energy fields aren't that accurate."

"She improved the program that Harry developed," explained Jeremy as Harry stabbed himself. "She kept the power and made them more accurate. She also made them quicker to form."

"Jeremy! Look at that," said Yumi as she looked at Aelita's ID card.

"Oh no! She's been devirtualised!"

"Are you saying that…" Odd trailed off.

"That's right…dah…I can't believe it!"

"I don't believe it," said Sissi. "She was always so kind."

One of the scanners was activated as the other deactivated. They ran down to the scanners.

"Hey, you realise you almost gave me a heart attack?!" Jeremy asked Aelita as she stood in the scanner. Aelita jumped into Jeremy's arms.

"I expected this to happen," said Harry as he walked over.

"Would someone tell me what happened?" asked Ulrich.

"I'd like to know that too," said Sissi.

"Well it seems that even if Aelita loses all her life points she won't disappear forever," explained Odd. "That should be obvious."

"She won't? How come?" asked Ulrich.

"Of course! I was too dumb to think of it before. Ever since you recovered your human memory, you're exactly the same as us! We don't need Code Earth anymore to bring you in!" explained Jeremy. "You could have warned us Harry."

Harry rubbed his head sheepishly.

"That'll really help now that Xana is determined to destroy Lyoko to keep us from finding him on the net," said Aelita.

"That's great, Aelita. You're a full-fledged Lyoko Warrior from now on," said Yumi.

"We'd better get back to school," said Harry as he glanced at his watch.

"Right. I don't want you to get into any trouble with daddy," said Sissi. "What did your parents leave for you in Franz's diary Harry?"

Harry didn't speak as he fiddled with the bracelet Sissi gave him. He took Dumbledore to the Ministry of Magic and returned.

Kadic

Odd separated from the group.

"Where are you going?" asked Ulrich.

"To see Jim."

"Be careful," warned Harry. "You know how he is."

"He'll be fine," said Sissi. "I think I know what he's doing."

Jim's room

"Hey, if you're here to blackmail me, you'd better think again," said Jim as he saw Odd. "Anyone who thinks they can pull the wool over my eyes is in for a surprise."

"Here. Blackmail isn't really my thing. I'm very sorry, Jim," said Odd as he handed the disc to Jim.

"Odd? Do you mean you did it just to be with your pals?" asked Jim as Odd started to move away.

"Well…boarding school is tough enough, but without your friends…"

"I'll see what I can do to help."

"Oh really?" asked Odd. "Thanks Jim. You're a real pal."

"Well, after all I was young once too," said Jim as he smiled.

"No kidding! I wonder what you were like," said Odd thoughtfully.

"I had blond, curly hair and…um…uh…and I would rather not talk about it. Get out of here!"

Odd ran off.
