Lyoko minus one

The alarm went off and Ulrich wrapped his head in his pillow. "Weill you turn the alarm off Odd!"

He looked at the other bed. Odd had vacated it.

Odd

"Here are the photocopies you asked for," said Ms Weber as she handed the paper to Odd. "You wanted thirty two, right?"

"That's right. Thank you," said Odd as he grinned.

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

"Rise and shine Einsteins," said Ulrich as he opened the door to reveal Harry shaking Jeremy madly. "The birds are chirping away."

"I think he stayed up too late," said Harry as he noticed Ulrich.

"Jeremy! Odd and Aelita are going out with each other…" said Ulrich has he walked over.

"What?!" asked Jeremy as he shot up. "Oh, it's you, Ulrich…awful joke! Anyway, what's the time?"

"What's the story, you've given up sleeping in a bed or what?" asked Ulrich.

"He was preparing his things for the votes today," said Harry.

"No, I was trying to find a way to send you into the internet so you can track Xana," said Jeremy. "The only viable option is what Harry said last night."

"Remind me," said Harry as he frowned.

"The vehicle that has shields that protects against the digital sea?"

"Ah yes. In theory, the digital sea has access to the internet."

Later

"Just look at you," said Ulrich as Jeremy ran water over his face. "No one's going to vote for you like that. They're not voting for zombie of the year, but for their student rep!"

"It's not about how you look, it's all about what you have to say," said Jeremy as he looked at Ulrich.

"Appearance helps," said Harry.

"At least you're optimistic, can't hurt, I guess…anyway, you've got one thing going for you: you're up against the lamest candidate in the galaxy," said Ulrich as they looked at Herb practicing his smile in the mirror. The boy stared at Harry.

"Has he still not forgiven me for becoming Sissi's boyfriend," asked Harry.

"Apparently not," said Ulrich.

Class

"Take a copy of my platform," said Odd as he handed out the paper.

"Platform? What for?" asked Jeremy as he took one.

"It's obvious Jeremy," said harry as he took one. "Good luck Odd."

"It's my platform," said Odd. "For the next student rep."

"You're running, Odd?! W-why didn't you say anything?" asked Jeremy as he started at Odd like a startled rabbit.

"Because surprise is the secret weapon of my election campaign," explained Odd. "When did you work it out Harry?"

"As soon as they announced it."

"And the second weapon is poetry! "If you all want to have your say, why not give the nod, to good old Odd!" recited Aelita.

"That's great," said Odd. "I like lines that rhyme with Odd."

They looked at him. Aelita giggled as Sissi walked over to Harry.

"I'm surprised that you're not in the running," said Harry.

"I can't. The principals' daughter isn't allowed."

Yumi

"I'm warning you. If anyone tries to pull anything, you can join that smart Alek William Dunbar in detention," said Jim as Yumi leant against the window. She glanced at the indentation on the seat.

"Do you really have to come with me Harry?" she whispered.

"Ulrich used his annoying brother power. He asked me to clone myself to keep an eye on you."

"There's three of you now."

"Thank you Jim. I think you've made yourself clear."

"Roger, Suzanne! Uh…I'm sorry, I mean, Ms Hertz…" corrected Jim.

"Let's not forget what we're going to be looking for," continued Ms Hertz. "The purpose of our filed trip is to look at the early effects of pollution on our ecosystem, especially the forest. Effects that may someday mean the end of our forests and the animal and plant life that live there."

"Uh…are you saying that there won't be any more bunny rabbits, or little birds, or trees, or mushrooms, they'll all disappear?" asked Jim as he got distracted. "…wow, I love that perfume…"

Kadic

"And so I ask you: why should good students represent the bad? Why not let a near-dropout like me speak for all the other near-dropouts?" asked Odd. There were murmurs.

"You're not smiling, Jeremy, how come?" asked Herb quietly.

"Because I don't want to look as dorky as you, Herb, ok?"

"What do Belpois and Pichon know about our problems, huh?" continued Odd. "They always get As and Bs, right? They don't know the fear of getting left back! They're not capable of defending our cause! The only genius that might understand our cause is Harry and that's because of his brother Ulrich."

The two blushed as Ulrich spoke out. "Bravo, good point, Odd! Ok near-dropouts, it's time for all of us to take a stand!"

People started to chatter and clap.

"Alright, quieten down," said Mr Fumet as he stood. Jeremy's laptop beeped and the boy looked at Harry who nodded and flickered. He dropped a note on Sissi's desk and by Ulrich too as he walked out. The students stared at the door opening and closing by itself.

Lyoko

A tower turned from white to red in the forest sector.

Yumi

"There's an activated tower," whispered Harry. Jim snored as his head lay on Ms Hertz's shoulder. Sparks came out of the dashboard as the driver slammed the brake on.

"Don't be scared! You gotta put 'er down when you're in the jungle!" yelled Jim as he woke up.

"What's going on?" asked the driver as smoke came out the dashboard.

"Tell Jeremy and the others what's going on," whispered Yumi.

"They know."

Everyone on the bus looked at Yumi with the eye of Xana. Harry appeared and started fighting. A stray shot of electricity hit the back window and they jumped out.

"Glad I'm here?"

Yumi nodded.

Kadic

"In conclusion, I promise to put lots of pretty plants in each and every one of your classrooms. Won't that be nice, huh?" asked Herb.

Nicholas started to clap. He was the only one.

"Your turn Einstein," said Odd. "What's up with Harry?"

He gestured at the boy who was making hand signs.

"Xana's taken control of Yumi's bus. This isn't a game. Being selected as class rep is serious with lots of responsibilities."

"And you don't think I'm capable?"

"I never said that!"

"No, but that's what you're thinking," said Odd as Jeremy's phone rang. "Well answer it, it's probably some think tank that wants your precious advice!"

"Hello? Yumi?"

"My whole bus has been Xanafied!" yelled Yumi. "Harry's clone is keeping them off but one hit and it goes."

"Are you sure?" asked Jeremy.

"If you don't mind Belpois. We're waiting for you."

"Xana's attacking," whispered Jeremy as he ended the call.

"We're still waiting."

"I have some notes. I left them in my room. I'll go…and get them!"

"I'll go with him! Keep an eye on the competition," said Odd.

"And we'd better go too! To separate them if they start fighting!" said Ulrich as he, the Harry clone, Sissi and Aelita stood up and followed.

"Vote for me, everyone," said Herb.

"I don't believe this…"

Yumi

The two ran from the Xanafied students.

"The others are on their way to Lyoko," said Harry. "They're being slow."

Study Hall

William finished his drawing then looked out the window as he overheard Jeremy.

"Attack confirmed. Xana has activated a tower."

Harry looked at the window. "This conversation isn't private."

Ulrich called Yumi. "Where are you?"

"At the crossroads. Hurry to Lyoko. We can't hold out much longer."

"Be right there." Ulrich turned to Harry. "Where are the other two?"

"The boss is on Lyoko and my brother is with Yumi."

"Ulrich, you head for the forest with the clone," said Jeremy. "We'll go help Harry on Lyoko."

William slipped out the room.

Yumi

Harry sent two energy fields at the students then looked at his hands.

"That came over fast."

Yumi tripped and Harry pulled her on his back. The Xanafied people stopped and then continued on as they hid under Harry's invisibility. Jim took a lucky guess and Harry jumped out he way. They fled.

Lyoko

"Are you alright?" asked Jeremy as he sat down.

"Well, apart from all the monsters around, I'm fine," said Harry.

"The activated tower is in the forest. I'm sending Odd, Aelita and Sissi to help out."

"I already know the tower is in the forest sector," said Harry as he jumped over a laser.

"Transfer Aelita. Transfer Odd. Transfer Sissi. Scanner Sissi. Scanner Aelita. Scanner Odd. Virtualisation."

"The tower is over there," said Harry as he pointed at it.

"Here's your taxi."

The Overboard and Overjet appeared. Aelita climbed on the Overboard with Odd and Sissi went with Harry.

"Xana is sending you some monsters. How original can you get?" asked Jeremy. Harry groaned.

"It's like Xana is waiting for something."

"He hates it when we're bored! Ok, let's be polite! We'll say hello to them first," said Odd.

"Stop fooling around Odd," said Sissi. "We're here to deactivate a tower, not to play with monsters."

"Hey Odd, take care of yourself! If anything happened to you, I wouldn't have any competition except for Herb," warned Jeremy.

"Don't worry Einstein, I'll take care of them, and then I'll go after you!"

Harry and Sissi mowed down the Tarantulas. Odd pouted as they blew up.

"This is such a cool jet," said Sissi enviously. "I wish I had one just like it."

"Do you want me to make you one? And Odd, there are more monsters."

He pointed at them. Odd hit two but Aelita fell off when he did a trick.

"Aelita!"

"Aelita, watch out! More monsters on the way!"

Several tarantulas fired at her but the elf formed two energy fields and destroyed two. She ran through the gap. Odd pushed her out of the way of the reaming fire.

"You just can't stay away from me, huh?" asked Odd as he made wild gestures.

"It looks like they can't either…"

Harry landed near by.

Ulrich

The two brothers walked to the crossroads.

"They were here," said Harry.

"You certain?"

"Of course I am. This way. Yumi just got electrocuted by Jim. And you can come out William."

The boy slipped out from behind the tree.

"What are you doing here? What are you following us for?" asked Ulrich.

"I heard it all. Yumi's in trouble, I came to see if I could help…"

"I don't know what you're talking about…" interrupted Ulrich as Yumi cried out.

"Now you know what I'm talking about?!" asked William. "And you're just a clone?"

"No, I'm Harry."

William stared at him.

Lyoko

"Aelita, get to the tower," said Harry as he pulled out his shuriken. "Is it me ore do these look different?"

"They do," said Aelita as she looked at them. The blades were more curved. A Megatank appeared and Harry threw the weapon at it. It phased through the shell and the Megatank blew up. Sissi fired and the remaining tarantula disappeared. More turned up.

Odd climbed a tree and the tarantulas fired at him. He took one out but had to move as they nearly hit him. He jumped off, hit another one and ran through the legs of the last one. Sissi fired at it and it blew up. She and Harry high fived.

"Go Aelita."

The girl ran from behind a tree to the tower.

Ulrich

Jim electrocuted Yumi again. The clone attempted to attack Jim with an energy field but it did nothing.

"Hey, that's Jim shooting lightning out of his fingers! And did that Harry just form a black sphere of energy? Is this a nightmare or what?"

"William, do you want to help Yumi or not?" asked Ulrich. "Now don't say anything and do what I tell you!"

Ulrich's phone rang.

"Ulrich?"

"What Jeremy?"

"Aelita is heading to the tower. It should be shut down in a few minutes."

"Goo. I'm getting ready to do something risky with Harry and William."

"Are you two guys buddies now?" sked Jeremy. "I know Harry like him."

"You do?" asked William. Harry shrugged.

"Nah, he's giving us a hand. I'll explain later."

Lyoko

"Jeremy, there's a problem," said Aelita as she backed away from a Scyphozoa. The other advanced on Harry.

"The Scyphozoas."

"But why?" asked Aelita. "I can understand Harry, Xana hasn't got what he wants from him. But he's got all the data he needs from me. What does he want now?"

"I don't know," said Jeremy. "Btu don't stick around."

Sissi fired at one but it did nothing. Aelita tried to hit hers with an energy field but it dodged.

"Ulrich, change of program. The tower's not going to be deactivated any time soon."

"Guess we can't count on you guys," said Ulrich as he walked out. "How're you doing, zombies? Oh I know I'm not welcome, but I love strolling in the woods!"

"After him!"

Several of the students went after him which gave the tow Harrys time to get Yumi out of there. William touched her.

"Yumi?"

"She's fine," said one of the Harrys. "She's waking up."

"Are you going to tell me how there are two of you?" asked William as he looked at the tow.

"Three."

"What?"

"There's three of us. The boss is in a bit of a predicament. He's just about to get possessed like the students here. We're going to disappear now."

They handed Yumi to William as they fizzled and disappeared.

"They weren't real?"

Lyoko

Harry and Aelita backed against the edge of the path. They tried to escape but the Scyphozoas picked them up gently.

"No!"

"What's going on?" asked Odd.

"The Scyphozoas have got Harry and Aelita," explained Jeremy. "They need your help."

"I'd love to help, but my new playmate doesn't seem to agree," said Odd as a Tarantula attacked him. Sissi tried to pull put Harry's sword but it was stuck. Odd threw a rock and used the distraction to destroy the Tarantula.

"I don't get it. It's like the Scyphozoa has implanted something in Aelita. Like it does when Harry is…. captured. Oh no."

"Almost there Jeremy!" Odd aimed at the Scyphozoa as it dropped Aelita.

"She's alive but if my theory is correct, under Xana's control."

"Aelita, you've got to wake up," said Odd as he shook her.

"Get away from her Odd," warned Harry as he had a mental contest with Xana. Aelita stood up.

"You can take a nap later," said Odd. Aelita attacked him.

"Well, you can't say I didn't warn you. Let me go!" the Scyphozoa dropped him then picked him back up. "Sorry you two, not going to be of much use."

"Jeremy, we've got a problem here…something's wrong with Aelita," said Odd as he stood up. Sissi fired at Aelita.

"Aelita, answer me. It's Jeremy."

"She's not going to respond," said Harry. Aelita fired again but missed. The Scyphozoa screeched and dropped Harry as it fled. A tarantula appeared and Aelita climbed onto it.

"What's going on?" asked Sissi. "Harry?"

The boy groaned. "Aelita is under Xana's control."

"Follow her."

"I know where's she's going," said Harry as he started to run. "Meet you there."

"What about the tower?"

"It will have to wait. If we don't hurry, Aelita will delete the sector."

Ulrich

"Fifteen against one, huh? I've been through worse…" said Ulrich.

"What's going on with the tower?" asked Yumi into the phone. "Ulrich's in trouble. Harry's clones disappeared."

"There's only a slim chance of deactivating the Tower right away," said Jeremy. "Harry was taken by the Scyphozoa. That's why the clones disappeared. Don't worry, he's fine."

"How slim?" asked Yumi.

"To be honest? …none at all."

"Ready to fight William?" asked Yumi as the call ended. William held up a stick as Jim electrocuted Ulrich. "Yoo hoo."

"Get her."

Yumi ran behind a tree and William hit the students with the stick. More rushed at him.

"This would be a good time for Harry to be here," said Yumi as she jumped on Jim. "He's a really good fighter when he wants to be."

William tried to attack Ms Hertz but she caught the stick and tried to pass electricity down it.

"Wood doesn't conduct electricity."

She sent him flying.

Lyoko

"Can you hear me?" asked Jeremy. "Harry, why are you at the way tower?"

"Aelita will come here. I know it because Xana told me."

He hit the tarantula and Aelita fell.

"I have that feeling too," said Odd as he and Sissi rode the Overboard. Harry ran forward and stabbed Aelita. She devirtualised. Harry grabbed his head.

"What's wrong Harry?" asked Sissi as the Scyphozoa appeared again and picked him up. It held him for a few seconds and put him back down.

"Uh oh," said Odd. "I think Harry's brainwashed and crazy now."

Harry walked into the tower after sparing them a glance.

"Get us out of here," said Odd. "I think Harry was right."

Harry walked to the centre of the platform and rose. He then walked to the interface and pressed his hand to it.

Xana

The tower started to disappear.

"What is going on?" asked Odd. Sissi shrugged. Harry dropped down and landed on his feet.

"What happened? Please tell me I didn't just enter code Xana…" He looked at the tower. "Yes I did. We need to get out of here."

"Let's run for it," said Odd as the sector began to disappear. Harry stabbed the two then stabbed himself.

"What's happening?" asked Jeremy.

Ulrich

Yumi and Ulrich dropped as the two adults stopped electrocuting them. They were just about to do it again when they collapsed.

"Are you ok?" asked Ulrich. Yumi called Jeremy.

"Did you manage to deactivate the tower?"

"I didn't. It deactivated itself because the forest sector is being deleted," said Jeremy as the four entered the lab.

"What?!"

"I don't know what happened…" said Aelita.

"Well for one thing, it was a pretty close call. Otherwise, I don't know what happened either! But I'm sure, Einstein can tell us," said Odd.

The class started to wake up.

"Look over there! That moss must be the result of…pollution! I love science field trips," said Yumi as a distraction.

Study Hall

"Ok, nap time. But don't you dare dream about Yumi," said Ulrich as he put William back into his seat.

"Huh? Wow…what a nightmare!" said William as he woke up and thought his experiences was a dream. "Three Harrys? I don't believe that?"

Lab

"It's no use," said Jeremy. "The forest Sector doesn't exist anymore."

"Of course it doesn't." said Harry. "I deleted it. I still don't understand how Xana managed to possess me. If only I hadn't used that code."

"I think it was because it wasn't permanent," said Jeremy. "He intended to let go of you."

"Xana used you Harry," said Jeremy. "He intended it to be Aelita but when you devirtualised her, you went to you. Don't beat yourself up. The attack was to lure us to Lyoko."

"Why would he do that?" asked Sissi.

"If the surface sectors disappear, we can't go to sector five," said Harry.

"Xana's going to destroy all the sectors?" asked Odd.

"That's right."

"We'll have to find a way to materialise you directly into sector five," said Jeremy. "Looks like we have our work cut out. Well, it's a good thing I'm not going to get elected class rep!"

"How do you know that?" asked Odd.

"Easy, because we're all going to vote for you!"

"And your newly-elected class representative is…Odd Della Robbia!"

The students clapped.
