False lead

"Can't a guy sleep in peace around here?" asked Ulrich sleepily as Odd sat up.

"Sorry, it's Jean-Pierre," said Odd.

"What a ridiculous name for a Tamagotchi…Jean-Pierre…" said Ulrich

"Don't you pay attention to him, my little coochy-coo! He's pretty cool, huh?" asked Odd as he picked the game up and walked back to bed.

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

The computer started up and began to hack a secure site. Harry groaned in his sleep as he rubbed his head.

The next day

Odd ran his hand along the floor then looked down as he didn't find his game.

"He's disappeared. He's disappeared!"

"What's disappeared Odd?"

"Jean-Pierre," said Odd. "He's disappeared.

"Maybe he went out looking for someone who'd give him a better name."

"You stole Jean-Pierre Ulrich! I want him back!"

"Hey, are you out of your mind? I don't want your dumb plastic Jean-Pierre!"

"Then if…it wasn't you, then he had to have been kidnapped!"

"I sure hope your piggy bank's full so you can pay the ransom!"

"Stop it! Come on! Don't you understand what will happen if we don't find him? What are we going to do?"

"First, we can start by going to breakfast."

Delmas's Office

The principal wrote something as there was a knock on the door.

"Yes?"

"Jean-Pierre Delmas?" asked one of two agents.
"Yes?"

"It seems, Jean-Pierre, you're interested in non-enriched uranium…" said Agent A.

"What?"

Lunch Hall

Yumi had her arms folded.

"Jean-Pierre's not any old Tamagotchi virtual pet – he's only a few months old, he's very fragile! Would you abandon a helpless baby, Jeremy?" asked Odd.

"If he was just plastic I sure would," said Jeremy as Harry rolled his eyes.

"Stop getting worked up Odd."

"We've got to go look for him right now," said Odd as he hit the table.

"Calm down Odd," said Sissi. "I don't think a few minutes will harm him."

"I think you'd be better to wait," said Ulrich.

"Wait for what?" asked Odd.

"For you to buy another one."

They laughed.

"I get the picture now. I though good friends were there for when you needed them but I think I was mistaken."

"What do you know, you left your little Tamasushi at home?" asked Herb as Odd walked outside.

"Do you like soggy frozen waffles and cereal that has been genetically modified?" asked Odd.

"Why do you want to know that?"

"I may stuff it down your throat."

"Ooh wow, you must've gotten up on the long side of the bed today," said Nicholas.

"It's not the long side, Nicholas, it's the wrong side," corrected Herb.

"Zip it up right now, Herb!"

Principal's office

"Now wait a minute! What is it you want? I haven't' done anything!"

"Do you have an affinity for bombs, especially the long range one?" asked Agent B. "And things like anthrax and other things like that?"

"I'm a respectable school principal!"

"Alright. We believe you."

"What's the meaning of this?" asked Delmas. "And who are you?"

"We belong to an ultra-high security division of the secret service. The president himself has no idea that we exist," said Agent A.

"Even we have no idea who we really are," said Agent B.

"But…"

"Keep still."

"Last night a mainframe of a large arms manufacture was hacked. A document of a highly sensitive and secret nature was taken," said Agent A.

"It so happens that the trail left behind led us here. To this number. Whose phone is it?"

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

"This room is occupied by Harry Stern and Jeremy Belpois," said Delmas as he opened the door.

"There's something I just don't get," said Agent B as he looked at the computer. "Is it possible to hack into the system with that? Without an advanced mainframe configuration?"

"Not without something illegal."

"The question is: how did he get his hands on it? Who are his contacts? Which terrorist cell is he working for?" asked Agent B.

"Right, we'll keep this Jeremy Belpois and Harry Stern under tight surveillance. Microphones, cameras, we're going to watch him. He doesn't know it, but we're going to use him to break this group.

"But our Jeremy Belpois and Harry Stern, terrorists? I can't believe that…in any event, let me assure you gentlemen of my personal and total co-operation," said Delmas.

"You know I might be able to help! I never told you this sir, but I was a secret service agent for a couple of years there," said Jim.

"You were?!" asked Delmas.

"Yes, that's absolutely right, but I'd rather not talk about it…" said Jim as he trailed off.

"If you want to help, set up the equipment. That way, we might take you off the suspect list."

Outside

"So when did you see Jean-Pierre for the last time?" asked Jeremy.

"For the hundredth time, he went to sleep next to the bed," said a frustrated Odd.

"We have a problem," said Harry as his clones disappeared. "Two agents are checking out our room Jeremy."

"Kiwi would have started to growl if anyone came into the room," said Jeremy. "And that is worrying Harry. Do you think you can check it out?"

Harry nodded and faded away. Sissi looked worried.

"Not if he recognised who it was," said Aelita.

"Hi," said Yumi as she walked over. "What's up?"

"Jean-Pierre has disappeared," said Aelita.

"You mean the principal?!" asked Yumi.

"No, the Tamagotchi!"

"Let's go see if we can find any clues in your room," said Jeremy as he laced his hand on Odd's shoulder.

Dorms

"Password," said Agent B as Jim knocked on the door.

"Birdbrain."

"That's it. Come on in."

"Jim Morales reporting! Audio, video, all mics and cameras discreetly hidden," said Jim as he saluted.

"Very good. Let's get this show on the road."

They looked at the screens which didn't have a very wide range of vision.

"It's a good thing you weren't a cameraman for a TV station," said Agent A.

"But I did work as a TV cameraman…"

"There! Camera three a," said Delmas, it showed Odd and Jeremy looking for something.

"What are they doing in Della Rubbia's room at this time of day?" asked Jim. "They're meant to be in the lunch hall."

Harry watched them.

"What? Jim, do you mind telling me why there's a dog in my establishment?"

"I don't know sir."

"He could ask," muttered Harry. They jumped and looked around.

"It's the first time I've ever seen him," continued Jim.

"Quiet," said Agent A. he turned the microphone on and a yipping nose came through. "Where did you put the microphone?"

"Under the bed," said Jim.

"Well done, right next to a noisy dog."

"They're leaving the room," said Delmas as the boys shut the door. "And I thought that Harry would be with them. That group is inseparable."

"Not when Xana tries to manipulate me," muttered Harry. "He can separate me form the group."

"Camera 2C. Dormitory hallway."

"I uh, I thought it was a real clever idea to conceal the camera behind that distinguisher…uh, insignia…I mean, uh, inquisitioner…" said Jim as the extinguisher blocked most of the view.

Harry's phone beeped as he received a text. They looked at him.

"Who's there?"

Agent B reached over but Harry jumped out of the way.

"I'm getting more and more worried, this is serious," said Odd.

"Yeah, we know: if we don't find Jean-Pierre in the next eight hours, it's the end of the world," said Jeremy. Harry froze then concentrated.

"Did you hear that?!" asked Delmas. "He just said Jean-Pierre, why, that's my name as well!"

"Oh yes, we heard him. Is there anything you'd care to tell us?" asked Agent B as the computer sparked. "What the…"

"This is completely absurd," said Delmas. "I have nothing to do with it."

"It could be another Jean-Pierre," said Harry. They looked around wildly.

"That sounded like Harry Stern," said Delmas.

"It's time to turn things up a notch. Jim, I want you to put a trace on the suspect. That way, they'll never be out of our reach?"

"What about Stern?" asked Jim as he saluted.

"Find him."
Harry slipped out the door as Jim opened it. The agent pulled out a second laptop.

Bathroom

Jeremy looked at the top shelf as Harry ran in.

"What's up?" asked Odd.

"Still nothing," said Aelita.

"We're going to be bugged," said Harry.

"What are you doing here?" asked Jim. "Out, on the double."

They walked out and Jim swatted Jeremy and Harry.

"Hey! Is anything the matter, Jim?"

"Uh, those darn mosquitoes! Ha!"

The agents watched them on the tracker.

"Just think I'm going to lunch at the same time Jean-Pierre's dying a slow and painful death because he has nothing to eat…" moaned Odd as the bell went.

"Life is so tough. And since he's just a piece of plastic with no feelings, he's blaming you for his misery," said Ulrich.

"Stop worrying," said Sissi. "He'll turn up."

"Hang on," said Jeremy as his laptop beeped. Harry moaned as he grabbed his head. "Xana's on the attack."

"Now of all times?" asked Harry. "It's going to be hard with the agents around."

"Doesn't Xana ever take a little lunch break?" asked Odd.

"No," said Jeremy. "We're not going to take one either. Let's go."

"Chicken-hawk calling henhouse. The bird has flown the coop. I repeat, flown the coop," said Jim into his phone.

"What kind of gibberish is that? Would you mind speaking normally?" asked Agent A.

"Uh…Belpois and his pals are on the move."

"Stay on their tails."

The group climbed into the sewers.

"Oh wow, they're going into the sewers! Hey, do you read me?" asked Jim as the two men appeared beside him.

"Loud and clear," said Agent B. they climbed down into the sewers too.

"Did Sissi know about this?" asked Delmas to himself. "They must be threatening her."

Lab

"You ready?" asked Jeremy as Harry, Odd and Sissi stepped into the scanners after Ulrich, Yumi and Aelita had been virtualised.

"Of course we are," said Harry.

"Transfer Harry. Transfer Odd. Transfer Sissi. Scanner Sissi. Scanner Harry. Scanner Odd. Virtualisation. Here are your vehicles. The tower is south, southwest."

They hoped on and shot off.

"Last one there's a rotten egg," said Odd. They began to race.

"The tower isn't activated," said Aelita.

"Xana must have deactivated it," said Harry.

"Got an explanation?" asked Odd.

"It looks like the Superscan is messed up."

"But why would he lure us to Lyoko?" asked Yumi.

"To have another attempt at controlling me?" suggested Harry.

"I don't like it," said Jeremy.

"Neither do I," said Sissi. "It looks like Xana is planning something."

"Step away from that keyboard," said Agent B.

"Huh? What?" asked Jeremy.

"You're under arrest!" said Agent A. Harry landed the Overjet and stabbed himself.

"Well, there goes our best fighter," said Ulrich. Harry shot up to the lab as soon as he could and swept the Agent's legs from out under them.

"What have I done?" asked Jeremy.

"That's for you to tell us. And where are your pals?"

"Well, we're going nowhere," said Harry. "And as for the whereabouts of our friends, they're in a virtual universe."

The agents stared at him as Jeremy ran the program again.

"That's preposterous," said Delmas. "It's impossible for people to go inside a computer."

"And here we are," said Harry. Agent B made to grab him but Harry shot across to the over side of the room. "That's not nice."

"Harry, stop fooling around and just knock them out," said Jeremy.

"Take Belpois for questioning," said Agent B. "Morales will look around for the others while I question this one."

Harry aimed at them as Jim went down in the elevator.

"That's not much good kid," said Agent A as he dragged Jeremy away.

"Harry, take good care of the others!"

"Is it?" asked Harry as he shot him with a laser arrow. "Hadn't noticed."

He took out the other two.

"It's a good thing Xana hasn't taken control of them."

"Very interesting! Who is this Xana? The guy who recruited Jean-Pierre?" asked Agent B as he got back up.

"Xana is a computer program. You're not going to remember much."

Smoke came out of the walls and engulfed the remaining agent.

Harry shot him again. "Take that, you stupid virus!"

"What's happening Harry?"

"Uh, Xanafied agents, Jeremy and Delmas taken away, activated tower."

"Hey, Stern, I want you to tell me what all this UFO equipment is doing here," said Jim as he returned.

"I'm kinda busy here Jim. People to save and all that. Sorry about this."

Harry knocked him out.

Jeremy

"I swear to you, I never hacked anything," said Jeremy as his phone rang. The agent picked it up. And read the text.

"Very interesting. Who is this Xana?"

"That's not something you need to know. However, I need to know about it. Please trust me."

His laptop beeped and Agent A opened it. Jeremy looked at the display and grabbed his phone.

"I wish I had Harry's speed," he mumbled as he sent the coordinates.

"What is this? A video game?"

"Not exactly. More like saving the world through a virtual universe."

Smoke engulfed the Agent and he started to attack Jeremy. Delmas tried to intervene but he got knocked out too. Jeremy hid behind the boiler and the Xanafied agent attacked but missed. Stem billowed out and Jeremy used the distraction to run past him.

Lab

Jim and Agent B woke up at the same time. The agent moved to attack Harry.

"Step away from Stern. If you don't I promise you sparks are going to fly," warned Jim as he tried to intervene. "My responsibility is to the students and I don't want any harm to come to them."

"Don't worry Jim," said Harry. "I'm stronger than I look and I have a ton of special abilities to go along with it."

Jim was electric shocked by the agent in a flurry of purple sparks. Harry rolled his eyes and sent several shuriken at him. The agent fell to the floor.

"Guys, the activated tower is in the mountain sector," said Harry as he returned to the computer. "Five degrees west and seventy five degrees south."

"Finally," said Sissi. "It's been boring waiting for you."

"Sorry, had a bit of trouble with Xana."

"Did you just hit delete?" asked Odd as a part of the ice sector disappeared.

"No. I think it's Xana. There's a lot of sparks around."

He looked at the two men. "Uh oh. I think the Xanafied man is doing something. I'm going to check the supercomputer. And the scanners are offline. When did he do this?"

He stood up and disappeared into a shadow.

"That's a bad plan for us," said Sissi. "If I understand this correctly, if the supercomputer is destroyed, Lyoko will disappear and us with it."

"That's right," said Aelita. "I hope Harry fixes the scanners."

"That's what triplicate is for," said Harry as he returned to the computer. "My brother is fixing the scanners and the boss is challenging Agent B. that's what boss calls him anyway."

"Where's Jeremy?" asked Yumi.

"I think he's back a Kadic. The other agent took him there."

"I guess it's time to change sectors."

Lyoko

They shot out of the way tower.

"We'd better watch our life points," said Aelita. "It would be game over for good otherwise."

The path began to flicker.

"I hope Harry hurries," said Yumi. The path disappeared and Aelita began to fall. "Aelita!"

Yumi shot down and pulled Aelita onto the Overwing just before she fell into the digital sea.

"That's what I call extreme," said Odd.

"Well, you're not exactly an expert on that," said Ulrich as they flew over the tower. Severalty Megatanks were waiting. "Looks like its show time."

"I hate monsters," muttered Sissi. "They ruin my hairdo."

Their vehicles disappeared and Sissi landed.

"That disappearing act isn't very cool," complained Odd as he climbed over the rock. They started to fight the Megatanks. Aelita shattered a laser as one of the three Megatanks attempted to roll over Yumi. She used her creativity to make a ramp. It plunged into the digital sea.

"Ohh! Hey! Ever heard of fair play?!" asked Odd as he nearly hit a Megatank but it closed at the last second. He pouted as the Megatank rolled towards him. It was obviously trying to run him over. "Ok, ok, ok, I take it back!"

Supercomputer

Harry shot the agent with his laser arrows. "Hey, Xana! Don't you want to possess me? You can't do that without the supercomputer!"

The agent turned and stared at him. "Harry…"

"That's my name. Don't wear it out."

"Aren't you on Lyoko?"

"I came back. I'm needed here."

The agent attempted to grab him but Harry jumped out of the way.

"You have to be faster than that."

The second agent turned up and Harry dodged him as well.

"Oh great. Two on one. That's easy."

He ran around the supercomputer and hit them again.

"Stay still. We only want to make you see the truth."

"What truth?" asked Harry.

"You are meant to serve Xana."

Harry groaned. "I don't see how you're going to do that since I'm pretty sure that Aelita will deactivate the tower soon."

Jim grabbed the two agents. "Now, who's the boss?"

He got electrocuted again.

Lyoko

Ulrich ran forward and stabbed a Megatank. Sissi tried to hit the other one but it closed before the shot could hit. Aelita connected two energy fields and used it to block the laser. Odd led the last one over the edge and it cut the platform off. Yumi used her telekinesis to bring Odd back up. Aelita ran into the tower.

"Well, that's over," said Ulrich as they regrouped.

"I'm not very good at thins," muttered Sissi.

"Don't worry. It will come with time," said Yumi.

Aelita rose to the second platform.

Lyoko

Supercomputer

The agents collapsed. Harry picked Jim up and brought him to the lab where Jeremy was typing at the terminal.

"Honestly I haven't got the slightest idea of what this junk is used for! What did you say it was for?" asked Jim once he woke up.

"I did tell you but you didn't believe me," said Harry.

"The supercomputer is damaged," said Jeremy. "I hope that this will work."

"Hope what'll work again?" asked Jim.

"This is going to be funny," said Harry.

"Return to the past now…return to the past now!" said Jeremy as he hit the enter key. The white light covered them.

Kadic

Odd felt for his Tamagotchi. "Oh no, not again!"

"Lost Jean-Pierre again, Odd?" asked Ulrich.

"Yeah, but this time I'm going to find out who stole him," said Odd as Ulrich looked at the camera.

Outside

"Now we're going to see who Jean-Pierre's kidnapper was," said Odd as he brought the camera to her rest of the group. The camera's screen showed Ulrich taking the Tamagotchi from beside Odd's bed.

"It was…it was you, Ulrich?!" asked Odd as they continued to watch. Ulrich give the Tamagotchi to Jeremy with Aelita standing behind him.

"You're all a bunch of traitors! The only one I can really trust is Yumi, Harry and Sissi from now on!" yelled Odd.

"Um…Odd, it was my idea," said Yumi.

"No! You too?! But what do you all have against my Jean-Pierre?" asked Odd.

"We did it for your own good, and ours. Because you were starting to get hooked on him," explained Ulrich.

"Relax Odd, Jean-Pierre is just fine! Believe me, he couldn't be in better hands," said Yumi. Harry snorted. Hiroki threw Jean-Pierre onto the road after getting a "game over," where it is then run over by a car.
