I don't own Harry Potter or Code Lyoko

Temporary Insanity

Yumi dodged shots as Sissi hit a manta.

"Is Xana planning something?" she asked. Harry snorted.

"That virus is always planning something."

Yumi jumped off the Overwing and hit another manta. Odd caught her.

"What took you so long?" asked Yumi. "I almost didn't wait!"

"Just having a word with Lucy-Anne!"

"Lucy-Anne?"

"Yeah, you know, Lucy-Anne! I love giving nicknames to the monsters I blow to smithereens!"

Ulrich destroyed "Lucy-Anne".

"Guess she wasn't too crazy about her name!" called Ulrich. Odd caught Ulrich's sword.

"You ought to take better care of your stuff, Ulrich!"

"Aelita, I'm trying to collect data on Franz Hopper but I can't access the subsystems," said Jeremy. Aelita shifted through the data. "Watch out! Mantas coming your way at ten o'clock!"

The two mantas fired at Aelita but Ulrich took the hit.

"Jeremy, how are things going?" asked Yumi. "It's getting kinda…"

She was hit and devirtualised.

"Not great. I don't have any data that can tell me how to localise Franz Hopper. You'll have to hold out a little longer."

"Easy for you to say," said Ulrich as he deflected shots. Aelita continued to use the interface.

"I'm almost there. I'm ready to enter the subsystems."

"How many life points do we have left?" asked Odd as he flew ahead of two mantas.

"Not many. If you get hit one more time, it's game over for you Odd. Same goes for Ulrich and Sissi."

"Buckle up, Shirley," said Odd as Ulrich hopped on the Overboard. "Ethel! Erick! Get back here right now!"

The two mantas had started to fly away.

"Odd, cut it out with your dumb names, huh?" asked Ulrich.

"They are rather annoying," agreed Harry.

"If you're going to do that, then chose better names," called Sissi.

The mantas turned around and charged up a combined laser. It hit the overboard and the two boys started to glow red.

"What's going on?" asked Ulrich. "Why weren't we devirtualised?"

"Nothing good," replied Harry. "And I don't think it was meant to devirtualise you."

Odd flew between the two mantas and shot them.

"What is that?" asked Aelita as they landed next to her.

"Beats me," said Ulrich. "They shot us and this happened."

They disappeared.

Scanners

"You ok?" asked Jeremy. "Harry would kill me if anything happened to you."

"All in one piece I guess," said Ulrich.

"Two great legs, a svelte torso, two little arms, and a good-looking head! No, nothing missing," said Odd as he checked everything off.

"Jeremy, what happened?" asked Aelita as she appeared.

"I wish I knew. I have to look back over the quantum sequence to track any possible abnormalities in the access data. I'll need Harry. He understands Xana better than anyone."

"Mind translating that, Einstein?" asked Yumi.

"He has to carry out a full check," said Aelita as Harry and Sissi appeared.

"There's no time," said Odd as he checked his watch. "We have rehearsal in exactly five minutes."

"Rehearsal? I completely forgot about it," said a worried Jeremy. "Chardin's going to kill us."

Gym

"Boooooooooo! We want our money back! We want our money back! We want our money back! We want our money back! We want our money back," chanted Nicholas.

"Poliakoff, do you mind using your head for once?! How can you get money back from a show that's totally free?!" asked Jim.

"Well…"

"We'll have to give you back nothing," continued Jim. "Which, if you ask me, is too much. Theatre, don't forget, is sacred!"

The students looked sceptical.

"Believe me, I know from experience, haha. Years ago I even wrote a one-act…well, uh, it was more of a one-scene play!"

"Oh, really? What was it about, Jim?" asked Herb.

"Hmm…I'd rather not talk about it."

The group ran in.

"Well mister Chardin, what made you choose Cyrano de Bergerac for this year's performance? The elegance of the text, I imagine? Or the tragedy of unrequited love, or perhaps it appeals to your true but hidden romantic nature?" asked Delmas as the teacher sat down.

"Lack of money."

"Oh…"

"Since we had no choice, we had to use last year's Romeo and Juliet set, and the costumes. I had to find another play that had a balcony. So, Cyrano."

"I say."

The group got into position. Jeremy banged the stick he was holding on the ground.

"Roxane!" called Ulrich.

"Who calls me?" asked Yumi as she walked out onto the balcony.

"It is I, Christian!"

"Today your words are hesitant."

"Night has come. In the dusk they grope their way to find your ear," said Odd.

"But my words find no such impediment…" said Yumi doubtfully.

"They find their way at once?" asked Odd. "Oh small wonder, that, for it is within my heart they find their home. Methink how large my heart, how small your ear… And from their fair heights descending, words fall fast. But mine must mouth, Madame, they need more LASER ARROWS!"

Odd mimed shooting laser arrows at the audience as his friends watched on, appalled.

"Oh! Methinks that your last words have learned to climb!" said Yumi quickly. Odd looked at his hand, puzzled, before pretending to act natural and continuing to act.

"With practice such gymnastics girl as hard! In truth, I seem to speak from distant heights!"

"Two Kankrelats, dead ahead," called Ulrich as he held his stick like a sword.

"True, far above at such a height, t'were death if…oh, ok, I'll get them!"

"Stern! Della Robbia! What are you babbling about?!" asked Delmas as he stood up.

"Please sir, keep it down! Don't you know cutting-edge theatre when you see it? It's a modern approach! Somehow between the bold soprano and a deadly karate man," said Mr Chardin.

"Take that, you old Krabe!" yelled Odd as he jumped up as if on Lyoko…but fell violently to the floor. "Ulrich, help me! I'm hit!"

"Super sprint!" yelled Ulrich as he jumped off the stage and attempted to attack Herb.

"Cut it out," ordered Yumi as she jumped in front of Ulrich. "It's not funny, it's lame."

"Yumi, what are you doing?" asked Ulrich. "You made me miss the Megatank!"

"Odd, what's gotten into you?!" asked Aelita. Harry slapped him.

"Out of the way, Aelita!" ordered Odd. "I can't see the Krabe! What was that for Harry?"

"You're not on Lyoko whispered Harry. "Remember that red glow? It's making you think you're on Lyoko!"

"This time you've gone too far," said Delmas. "One more word out of you and it's the disciplinary committee."

"Please Mr Delmas," said Jeremy quickly. "There's something wrong. Odd has done something to himself."

"Jeremy?" asked Odd. "Does Xana have a broken hard disk or what? The Krabe sounds a lot like Delmas!"

"It is Delmas," said Harry.

"Odd, watch out! A Blok at four o'clock!" warned Ulrich. He saw a Blok where Jim was standing.

"Blok?" asked Jim. "You're the blockhead, Stern!"

"Which Stern?" asked Harry.

"Your brother!"

Ulrich shoved Yumi away and rushed at Jim, his stick still raised like his Lyoko sabre, but the teacher grabbed and restrained him

"Quick, someone call an ambulance! Stern and Della Robbia have totally lost it," said Jim.

"Well, we know what that red light did," said Sissi.

Later

Odd and Ulrich were being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

"Jeremy! Reload me! Harry's program isn't working! Two Tarantulas are getting the better of us!" called Odd.

"We're stuck in another of Xana's traps," called Ulrich.

"Yumi! Do something!"

"Mmmhm…so this is what happens when you spend hours playing video games and watching cartoons on TV…" said Delmas. Harry chewed on his lip. "Rehearsal is over."

"Ulrich's right," said Aelita. "They're stuck in Xana's trap."

"Go follow them to the hospital," said Jeremy. "I'll see if I can figure out what's wrong in the meantime."

Hospital

"Did you give them something to calm them down?" asked the nurse. The man nodded.

"Now, tell me: are you having some problems at the moment? Are you sleeping well?" asked he nurse as she entered the room. Ulrich and Odd looked at her stunned, seeing a Blok where she stud. "Nightmares? Restless nights?"

What appeared to be a bloc was asking the two boys questions in the nurse's voice.

"Troubles at school? With your parents?"

"Take that, you rotten old Blok!" said Odd angrily.

The nurse wrote on her clipboard.

"Rotten…old…Blok…interesting!"

"Let me at it!" Ulrich leapt at her. The nurse restrained him.

"Sorry young man but I'm a tenth Don in aikido."

Harry's and Jeremy's dorm

Jeremy looked at Odd's and Ulrich's avatars.

"I'm telling you, it's what the mantas did," said Harry.

"It's a possibility." Jeremy looked at the results then called Yumi.

"Yes Jeremy?"

"Yumi, Xana is behind Odd and Ulrich's strange behaviour. There's only one way to make them normal. That's to get them to a way tower on Lyoko. Then I can launch a program to get their heads straight."

"That's going to be hard," said Harry. "And we might have to go back in time."

"Do you mean we have to spring them from the hospital?" asked Yumi.

"You got it."

Hospital

"Hello…we're here to see Ulrich Stern and Odd Della Robbia," said Yumi as the three girls walked over to the reception.

"I'm sorry, but they're both under observation. No visitors allowed."

"Thanks a lot. Sorry we interrupted you."

"What do we do know?" asked Aelita.

"We make a plan," said Sissi.

"Quiet. Listen."

"The two young men in room 237 are fighting imaginary monsters," said the nurse. "That they call Bloks, Megatanks and Xana."

"Where do they get such crazy names from?" asked one of the doctors. "What do you think Professor?"

"Chalk it up to today's youth."

"Now we know what room they're in," said Yumi. They slipped around the corridors until they came to the right room. There was a man standing guard.

"Leave him to me," whispered Yumi. She pretended to be a patient.

"Excuse me."

"Are you ok?"

"I'm looking for my room. Room 216."

He led her to the room. Aelita and Sissi ran into the room.

"Aelita, watch out for the Krabes!" warned Odd as they lay strapped to the bed. "Where's Harry when you need him?"

"What Krabes?" asked Sissi.

"The ones blocking us!" said Ulrich. Aelita started to play along and motioned for Sissi to do the same.

"Energy field! That's one down!" She unstrapped odd as Sissi did the same to Ulrich.

"Nice job! That Krabe just wouldn't let go of me! I think it was love at first bite!"

"I've located the activated tower," said Aelita. "Follow me."

"Go. We'll cover you."

Yumi

"Here you are, your room," said the man as Yumi walked in.

"Thank you."

"Game of tiddlywinks?" asked an old trembling woman with crooked teeth who looked at Yumi hopefully. "Whoever wins gets to take the other person's medicine! Well, what do you say?"

"Huh? Uh…no thanks, another time!" said Yumi as she bowed.

"What is going on around here?! If you didn't come for a game of tiddlywinks, then what are you doing in my room, young lady?!"

"Well, uh…"

"You little rascal, you! Get out, or I'll call the nurse!"

Yumi ran out and found the other four.

"Yumi, now that you're here, we can go to the activated tower," said Aelita as she winked.

"Oh, sure. Let's get going then."

They walked out. The nurse dropped her drink.

Jeremy's and Harry's dorm

"This should work," muttered Jeremy as he ran the program. Harry looked over his shoulder.

"It's a good thing I didn't get hit. Otherwise, I would be attacking not miming."

"Oh no. They're attacking the core of Lyoko."

Harry stood up.

"I'll go sort it out."

"I hope the others will be there soon."

Hospital

"Where do you think you're going?"

"The Blok's coming," said Odd. "It caught up with us!"

"There's no time," said Sissi as she dragged Odd. They ran out of the hospital.

"Hello, is this police headquarters?"

"Yes Jeremy?" asked Yumi into her phone. "Ok. We're on our way. Xana is attacking the core of Lyoko."

"Just a little further," said Aelita. "The tower isn't far now."

"I suggest we go," said Sissi as sirens sounded.

"That way."

"Go ahead! I'll take care of the Megatank," said Ulrich as he faced the police car.

"Ulrich, no!"

"What is this crazy kid trying to do?" asked the driver.

Ulrich leapt like on Lyoko. The car avoided him just in time.

"Well, tell me what it feels like to be part of the evening news?" asked a TV reporter.

"That should take care of them!"

Lyoko

Harry ran up to the core room. He pulled out his shuriken and hit the mantas.

"That's done."

"Harry, there's another monster," said Jeremy as the icon started to rise. "It's a clone of you."

"Will Xana ever get tired of attacking me with them?"

Lab

"Where can they be?" The doors opened to reveal the five. "There you are. There's one more shield layer on the core and Xana's sent a clone."

Yumi groaned. "Harry can't deal with them."

"He can if he puts his mind to it."

Yumi pressed the down button.

"Jeremy, do you mind sending me the Overboard?" asked Odd. "I'm getting tired of running around."

"Do you have any idea how we can get them into the scanners?" asked Aelita.

"I have an idea. Ok, guys, you made it. Now head for that way tower."

The two boys entered the scanners with Yumi.

"Good one Jeremy."

"Transfer Odd. Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Yumi. Scanner Yumi. Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Odd. Virtualisation."

Lyoko

"Oh wow! It's empty out here, not a kid in sight!" said Odd as they looked around the ice sector… for Yumi. Odd and Ulrich saw it as school.

"Guess they're all in the lunchroom," said Ulrich.

"Uh…yeah," said Yumi as Aelita and Sissi climbed to their feet. "This is getting worse and worse. Now they think they're at school. You two lead them to the way tower. I'll go help Harry."

"Got it." She paused. "Let's go to the lunch room."

"I'm starving!"

"Welcoming committee straight ahead. Be careful Aelita," warned Jeremy. Odd and Ulrich kept walking carefree towards a Tarantula flanked by a Kankrelat as they believed them to be Herb and Nicolas.

"Hey, Herb, in a bad mood? You couldn't find a way to get revenge on Harry this morning?" asked Odd.

Aelita used her creativity to make a wall of ice as the monsters fired. The two boys ran straight into Aelita's ice wall and touched it without seeing it, completely confused.

"What's this?" asked Ulrich.

"Did they put them in a display case or what?" asked Odd.

Yumi

"Jeremy, I'm at the edge of the sector. Can you send me a taxi?"

"Yep. A big, white stretch limo is on the way!"

He entered the code and the transport orb scooped Yumi up. It rocketed off along the sector.

"Jeremy, I'm in the core zone."

"Ok Yumi, great. The countdown has started. You have a minute."

"Ok."

She ran to the entrance and the wall opened. She ran and easily found the key. Yumi hit it just in time.

"Nice job Yumi. Now head to the celestial dome."

"On my way."

"I'm programming the Overwing"

Aelita

"D'oh…who's the dork that pushed me into Herb's arms?" asked Ulrich as the lay on the floor. Aelita sent an energy field and destroyed the Kankrelat. Another turned up.

"Energy field!" Aelita destroyed the second Kankrelat.

"Energy field? You think we're on Lyoko or something?" asked Odd. Sissi hit the tarantula and it blew up. A stray laser hit Ulrich in the arm.

"Ah! Something just stung me!"

Core

"Can't you just leave me alone for a few minutes?" asked Harry as he heard footsteps. "I'm getting rather tired of the manipulation attempts."

"You know I can't. You have so much untapped potential."

Harry rolled his eyes and sent a shuriken at the clone. It dodged but the shuriken turned around and hit it.

"That's cheating."

"Why haven't you devirtualised yet?"

"More life points." The clone walked into his view and considered him. "You are a strange one. Most would have succumbed ages ago but you stay with what you believe in."

Harry pulled out his sword and threw it at the clone who dodged. It looked at the sword as it embed into the wall.

"You really don't like manipulation, do you?"

"What gave that away?" Harry glanced around and saw Yumi. He nodded slightly and Yumi smiled. He shot the clone and Yumi hit it with her fans. It exploded. They high fived.

Aelita

"That way, hurry up," said Aelita as she pointed.

"No, the lunchroom is that way," corrected Odd as he pointed in the other direction.

"Ugh…listen to me, both of you! You're going to do exactly as I say and no questions, got that?" asked Aelita.

"And if you don't, I'll get you kicked out of school," threatened Sissi.

"Ok…"

"Now get in there, that's an order," said Aelita as she led them to the way tower.

"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" they saluted.

"Let's hope this works," said Jeremy. "Let's see if it's operational."

The two boys glowed green.

"How do you feel?" asked Aelita as the glow faded.

"Fine. But what are we doing inside a Way Tower?" asked Ulrich.

"I don't get it! Shouldn't be we in the lunchroom?" asked Odd.

"We'll explain later. Jeremy, it worked."

"Yeah. The others have sorted the core out too. I'll bring you in."

Scanners

Aelita, Harry and Yumi waited as the scanners opened.

"Well?" asked Yumi.

"Well what?" asked Odd. "Laser arrow!"

"Stop fooling around Odd."

Odd glared at Harry who raised an eyebrow.

"Very funny."

"Well, it's good to know that while some people are clowning around, others are working," said Jeremy. "Return to the past now!"

Earlier

"Methinks that your last words have learned to climb," said Yumi as they repeated the rehearsal.

"With practice such gymnastics girl as hard," said Odd.

"In truth, I seem to speak from distant heights!"

"True, far above at such a height, t'were death if a hard word from you fell upon my heart!"

"Stop, stop, stop," said Mr Chardin as he stood up. Yumi, Ulrich and Odd stopped and turned to the teacher, surprised. "It's not bad, but you're not there, not just yet. What it's missing is a bit more, um…"

"More passion?" asked Ulrich.

"No, no, some…"

"Some popcorn?" asked Jim.

"No."

"More funding?" suggested Delmas.

"That would be good, but uh…"

"A touch of insanity?" asked Odd with a grin.

"Exactly, yes! That's it!"
