I don't own Harry Potter or Code Lyoko

Lost at sea

"Hey there, Aelita! Einstein isn't with you?" asked Odd as Aelita walked over.

"I haven't seen him or Harry yet today."

"Speak of the devil, look who's here!" exclaimed Ulrich as he watch Harry half carrying half pushing Jeremy out off the door.

"Hello everybody!" called Jeremy.

"Hm…let me guess, you fell asleep in front of your computer again?" asked Odd.

"Uh…yeah. How'd you know?" asked Jeremy in surprise.

"The imprint of your keyboard's on your forehead," explained Odd. Everyone laughed as Jeremy felt his head. "And Harry dragged you out of the building."

"Seriously Jeremy, you need more sleep," said Harry with a small smile. "It's hard enough with you typing away."

"I was up all night working on a program, I came up with an idea for bringing William back," explained Jeremy.

"Hey Ulrich, could I talk to you for a sec?" asked Hiroki nervously as he walked over.

"Uh, well, if you really have to, yeah." Ulrich turned to the others. "Go ahead, I'll meet you inside."

"Well everyone says you have a way with girls," said Hiroki as the others strolled off. Harry made kissing faces at Ulrich who glared at him.

"It depends on the girl."

"Ulrich! Get to class!" called Sirius.

"Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about Milly. You know, the journalist girl."

"Yeah, I know her. She had a crush on me." Ulrich glanced at her.

"I want to talk to her but when I do, I can't think of anything to say."

"Just talk to her about the things she likes, her interests! You know she's got a passion for journalism! Just don't get me or your sister involved."

"Great idea! It'd be great if I could find her a scoop…she'd be crazy about me if I did!"

"Uh…yeah, a scoop for the paper, but uh, just what kind of scoop?" asked Ulrich.

"Oh you can leave that to me, Ulrich!"

Lunch

"What did Hiroki want to talk to you about?" asked Jeremy as Ulrich sat down.

"He wanted advice on Milly," said Ulrich.

"Isn't he a bit young for her?" asked Odd.

"How old is he again?" asked Sissi as she sat down next to Harry.

"Is that really important?" asked Harry.

"He did skip a grade," said Aelita thoughtfully.

"Jeremy, tell us about this new idea out yours," said Ulrich to change the subject.

"Ok. When a human is virtualised, they emit a binary residue which manifests itself as an extension of their physical person in a digital format."

Everyone except Harry and Aelita stared at him blankly.

"What?" asked Ulrich.

"You leave a digital trace on Lyoko," said Aelita.

"Couldn't you have said that?" asked Ulrich.

"Nope. Anyway, I based it on William's DNA code when he went to Lyoko for the first time. If I upload it, we can look for him every time we go on the network," explained Jeremy.

"I have this feeling that it won't work," said Harry with a frown. "Xana hides William's trace really well."

"We'll find him," said Sissi confidently.

"So, you're doing that the skid will become a super sub?" asked Odd.

"That's right Odd. In fact, I was going to get you to test it."

"Here's another plan. Let me hang around Lyoko for long enough and William will come to me," suggested Harry. "You know he wants to subdue me. It's a pity he doesn't try subduing both my mind and my body at once."

"That's a little bit risky," said Aelita.

Outside

Yumi stood up and walked over to the drinks machine. Hiroki used her distraction to go through her bag and pulled out a book before running off.

"Hiroki! Give that back!"

Yumi ran after him.

"You sure look far away, Ulrich," commented Odd.

"It's nothing, just thinking about something Hiroki said."

"Oh yeah? Well what was that?" asked Odd.

"Uh…nothing, forget it."

"What's wrong?" asked Odd after Hiroki knocked him over. Yumi followed Hiroki.

"Is this yours, Odd?" asked Ulrich as he picked up a book.

"Huh? You kidding me? A notebook with a dark cover and a flower is not my style!"

"It's Yumi's..."

Hiroki

Hiroki posted out from behind a tree and pumped his fist.

"Give it back right this second, you brat!"

Yumi had found him.

"Oh come on sis, I was just kidding! Er, look, here it is…uh…huh? Well it was here!"

"WHAT?!" yelled Yumi.

"Well you're gonna laugh, but uh…I dropped it, I think…"

"You'd better be kidding!"

Ulrich

"Oh no, what's written inside here is not our business," said Ulrich as he moved the book out of Odd's reach.

Later

"What's the matter? Problems in paradise?" asked Harry as he glanced at Ulrich.

"Hey Yumi. What's the matter?" asked Ulrich as he walked over to her.

"My stupid brother. He stole something of mine and he lost it."

"Ok, I did it. I upgraded the Skid' s sonar," said Jerry, interrupting Ulrich. "We're all set."

"All set for what?" asked Yumi.

"Oh, right, you don't know."

"Jeremy spent the last couple of nights developing a program to help us find William," explained Harry. "Though he'll come after me."

"Yumi, I was looking for you. I wanted to apologise for this morning. I had no right to take your diary," said Hiroki as he wandered over.

"Did you find it?" asked YumI.

"No but I looked everywhere."

"Well, until you find it, you can consider yourself an only child."

"Man, someone got out the wrong side of the bed this morning," said Sissi as they watched her go.

"What happened?" asked Aelita.

"Nothing. Ulrich, can I speak to you?" Odd led him away.

"What do we do now?" asked Aelita.

"Uh, lunch," said Harry as he squinted at the sun.

"So what's the deal?" asked Odd. "I thought you were going to return the diary."

"Well you saw how crushed Hiroki was, if I'm the one who gives the diary back, Yumi'll still be angry with him," explained Ulrich.

"Yeah, so?"

"So what if we fix it up so that Hiroki finds the diary and gives it to Yumi himself? That's two birds with one stone: she gets her diary back, and he gets his sister back. Pretty good idea, huh?"

"Yeah, great. But, how do you plan to do it?" asked Odd.

"Hide the diary under a pile of leaves in the park, near the garden shed. I'll take care of Hiroki," suggested Ulrich as he handed Odd the diary. Harry looked over curiously.

"Ok, but give me a few minutes! I've gotta go get Kiwi first, I forgot to walk him this morning!"

"Deal!"

"I totally messed that up Ulrich," said Hiroki sadly as Ulrich walked over.

"Relax Hiroki. Yumi will calm down and forgive you. Especially when she gets her diary back."

"But I've looked everywhere! I even retraced my steps! Nothing!" Hiroki grasped his hair.

"Well, I say Mr Riley raking up some leaves. He might have raked the diary by accident," said Ulrich. Hiroki grinned.

"Under a bunch of leaves! Let's go check!"

"Wait up Hiroki!"

Ulrich ran after him. Yumi raised an eyebrow as they ran past her.

Park

"Which one did you hide it under?" asked Ulrich as Hiroki sifted through another pile of leaves.

"He'll find it soon enough," said Odd. Kiwi scratched his ear. Odd opened his bag and Kiwi jumped in.

"I got it!" Hiroki waved it in the air. He opened it to find it empty.

"You mind telling me what you're doing?" asked Yumi as she walked over. She saw the diary empty and gasped. "I'll never forgive you for this, Hiroki!"

"Don't look at me like that, it was all there when I hid it!" exclaimed Odd as Ulrich looked at him.

Lab

"You guys hurry down to the scanners and I'll start the virtualisation," said Jeremy as he stepped out the elevator. Odd hit the button with his elbow and the door closed.

"For once, it won't be ladies first. Transfer Harry. Transfer Odd. Transfer Ulrich. Scanner Harry. Scanner Odd. Scanner Ulrich. Virtualisation. Transfer Yumi. Transfer Aelita. Transfer Sissi. Virtualisation.

"Yumi's in a foul mood! You'd better tell her the truth about her diary," said Odd as they waited for the girls to appear.

"And how do you think she'll react when she finds out that you were the one who hid it?" asked Ulrich as he crossed his arms.

"Hey, this was your idea, Casanova!"

"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear this," said Harry as he shook his head.

"Let's go," said Yumi as they landed on their feet.

"You know, I keep expecting William to appear," said Harry as they caught the elevator.

"Don't even joke about that," said Sissi as he took Harry's hand. Harry glanced at her. "I don't want you possessed."

"Your elevator is waiting."

They strolled onto it. It quickly took them to the garage.

"Everyone get on the transporter spot." Harry ignored him and ran to the Lightning. "Energise. Releasing supports."

Aelita engaged the propulsion and the Skid rose up before flying out of sector five and plunged into the digital sea. The Lightning wasn't far behind.

"We've left Lyoko. Rotation."

The Skid rotated and moved off.

"I'm running the program. Prepare to receive initial coordinates."

"Rodger. You're awfully quiet Harry. Is something on your mind?" asked Aelita.

"It's nothing. Probably just the remnants of the hypnotism Xana put me under. I occasionally get the urge to go to Lyoko and wait for the Scyphozoa.."

"Well, don't," said Ulrich.

"I'm still me Ulrich. Don't worry."

"Oh no," moaned Jeremy as an error sign came up.

"What's wrong?"asked Aelita.

"Is there a problem?" asked Odd.

"Looks like there's a malfunction in the Skid's sensory program," explained Aelita.

"I see it. It's my program that bugged up the Skid's sonar. We have to stop the mission, it's too dangerous without sonar."

"Roger. Returning to dry dock."

The Skid turned around as Harry grumbled under his breath. "Jeremy, my sonar is still working."

"Harry, you can't do it alone. You know that."

"Yes I can."

"Ok, next mission: diving into my pillow and burying myself under the covers! Objective: a good night's sleep to clear my head," Odd muttered to himself. The digital sea turned red.

"Sorry Odd but you have to postpone your nap," said Jeremy as the monsters' icons appeared. "Monsters are heading your way."

"Navskids away!" The Navskids detached from the Skids.

"Take this, fish face!" Yumi fired and hit the Kongre.

"Not bad! Yumi's pretty effective when she's mad! Ah! I've got one on my tail! Oh, it's sticking to me like glue!" yelled Odd as he dodged the shots. Harry appeared behind him and shot it.

"Want to team up for the last one?" asked Ulrich as Sissi took one out.

"Yeah, let's do it!"

They weaved in and out of the upside down building as they fired at the monster. Eventually, they hit it.

"Nice job, guys! Time to come home now," said Jeremy.

"Hey, where's Yumi?" asked Aelita as she brought the other two in.

"I don't get it, I don't have any trace of her…I've lost her!"

"She must have gotten hit by a Kongre!" said Aelita worriedly.

"But…that's impossible…" Ulrich trailed off.

"Einstein…you think she might have been virtualised for good?" asked Odd.

"No, I…I don't think so. The data recording from the fight doesn't show any sign of her having been eliminated."

"And I have this feeling we would have known if she had been," said Harry.

"That means she's still somewhere on board her Navskid, somewhere in the middle of the Digital Sea," said Aelita.

"Right. But the Skid is in no condition to find her, you guys have to come back in for me to run a repair program."

"What?! No way! We can't just leave her behind!" exclaimed Ulrich as he punched the window of his Navskid.

"Ulrich, no-one's leaving anyone, but all of us run the risk of being virtualised forever with the Skid's systems down," reminded Aelita.

"Yeah…you're right, we'd better go."

"I'll stay on the network," said Harry. "The Lightning doesn't have any problems. And that way, we have someone on the lookout for my future sister-in-law!"

Ulrich shook his head.

"Be careful Harry," called Sissi.

"I'm always careful."

Later

"How long will it take you to fix it?" asked Ulrich as he ran in.

"Reprogramming the sonar is linked to balancing the bipolarity of the flux on one hand..."

"Just tell us when we can go back!"

"Soon," said Jeremy. "As long as you let me concentrate."

"Just ignore my brother. He's upset at losing Yumi," said Harry. "We'll find her Ulrich. Don't worry."

Network

"Can anyone hear me? I don't know where I am." Yumi looked at the display. "And I'm in trouble. I'm losing power. Can anyone hear me? Answer me!"

Park

"What a nightmare," said Ulrich as he and Odd sat against a tree.

"Relax. You heard Einstein," said Odd. "We'll bring Yumi back. Don't worry. Harry's looking for her right now."

Kiwi dug something up and brought it to Odd.

"What have you got there?" Odd took it. "Ulrich! This is Yumi's diary!"

"What?"

"Kiwi saw me bury it so he thought it was a game and reburied it somewhere else!"

"That's great. We found Yumi's diary but now we've lost Yumi," said Ulrich bitterly.

Network

"Jeremy? Aelita? Harry? Can you hear me? I'm almost out of power..." Yumi closed her eyes. "It's getting cold and I'm all alone... Huh?"

A Kongre swam up.

"Ok Yumi. Only one torpedo." She hit the trigger but nothing happened. "Not enough power...! I'm not done yet." She dodged the shots. "IF I reduce power in my shields, I should have enough."

She pressed buttons. "Yes! Now it's you and me!"

She fired and hit the monster.

Lab

"Huh?"

"What was that?" asked Aelita.

"An explosion from a Navskid's torpedo!" Aelita pulled out her phone as Jeremy informed Harry.

Park

"Aelita? Huh? Yes. Ok. They found Yumi. Odd?"

"Well?" asked Odd as he stood next to the manhole cover. Sissi rolled her eyes.

Network

"I want to go home.."

Flashback

"Yumi…who am I going to play with if you go away?" asked Hiroki.

"No Hiroki, "foot" becomes "feet" in the plural." Another memory.

"How do you know all that, sis?"

The memory changed again.

"Oh, what are you two up to this time?" asked their mum. The two laughed and the memory changed.

"Well? How long?" asked Hiroki as he surfaced.

"Oh, at least ten minutes!" Yumi lied. The memory changed.

"I had no right to take your diary…"

"Until you can find it, you can consider yourself an only child!"

"I'll never forgive you, Hiroki!"

Flashback ends

"Hiroki..."

Lab

"Come on, come on..." muttered Jeremy as the door opened. "Yumi sent us a message."

"Let's go get her," said Odd ecclesiastically.

"I have to finish the calculations first. I've located the area and Harry is helping me narrow it down."

"But if she fired a torpedo, that means she's in a jam," said Ulrich.

"I transposed the data of the explosion into the holoweb to get her position via triangulation," explained Aelita.

"There she is!" exclaimed Jeremy as he pointed at the screen. "She must have gotten sucked into a Hub, that's why we lost all trace of her! But the sonar is still down, guys. So going under right now is going to be a big risk!"

"Hm…I'll go!" volunteered Odd.

"Count me in!"

"Well what are we all waiting for?" asked Aelita.

Network

"There's a hub straight ahead," said Aelita.

"I read you. I'm entering the coordinates of where Yumi fired the torpedo. Harry's almost there."

Yumi

Yumi dodged the shots from a second Kongre. She got hit several times and was sent flying. The Kongre peered in through the window.

"It's all over…what's he waiting for?"

A torpedo hit the Kongre.

"Hey Yumi. You holding out on us?"

"Nice to hear your voice Harry. But that Kongre was waiting for something."

"Or someone." Harry and Yumi shared a look then watched as another Navskid arrived. "William. Is it me or does that Navskid look something like a whale. The Rorkal. Let's call it that."

William fired and Yumi flinched away. The Skid blocked the torpedo form hitting them.

"Well Yumi, thought you'd wander off without telling us where you were?" asked Aelita.

"It took you long enough to get here!"

"I have a feeling William is staring at me," said Harry as he took out another Kongre.

"I wouldn't mind a little fish soup! Guess I'd better cook it though, first!" called Odd as he took out a third Kongre. "Ulrich! Behind you!"

Ulrich tried to look behind him as William fired on him.

"Harry, could you give me a little help with William?" asked Ulrich.

"I don't see why not but someone will need to keep an eye on Yumi here."

Harry slipped up behind William and fired. William dodged as Harry and Ulrich separated. The possessed boy glowered out the window as he chased Ulrich. Harry changed direction.

"Big mistake, William! Fire!"

The Rorkal exploded.

"Mission accomplished, Jeremy!" called Ulrich as they returned to the Skid.

"Hey great job, now anchor yourselves to the Skid and head back in," said Jeremy. Everyone did that. "Ah, they're all coming home!"

"Not everybody. But one day, we'll bring you back, William," said Aelita to herself.

"Stop moping after William Aelita, that's my job," called Harry. "Strange though. He didn't go after me."

Yumi's house

Yumi walked into her room and gasped as she saw the pages of her diary.

"Yumi? I wanted to know just how sorry I am for what I did…" Hiroki hung his head as he stood in the doorway. Ulrich peered in the window.

"Thanks for bringing it back. You know, I understand now that what we have is more important than some old diary. I forgive you." Yumi hugged him.

"Are you in love or what?"

"Argh! Get outta here!"
