"Look at my giant snowball mummy!"

"Stay near the house darling."

"Well done my angel!"

Harry struggled in Lily's arms to get to Aelita.

"Looks like he's rather fond of Aelita," laughed James. "Like they are two parts of a whole."

"'Lita!"

Aelita turned around and stared at a giant wolf. "Mummy! Daddy!"

She turned again and stared at two men in black.

"Aelita! Aelita!" Aelita watched as her mum was forced away. Flashes of light appeared and disappeared as James and Lily fought more men in black off.

"'Lita!"

Aelita ran after her as her mum was taken away in a car.

"Mummy!"

THe wolf walked over to her and Aelita wiped the tear of her face with her covers.

Outside

"What? You're still having nightmares?" asked Yumi in surprise as they walked to the edge of the grounds.

"Well yeah, they keep coming back now and then. And what's more, they're always the same. But don't worry Jeremy, I'm used to them," replied Aelita.

"No Aelita, it's not your nightmares I'm worried about!"

"I told you that it's no big deal! Yumi won't be far for the holidays and me and Harry are staying here to keep an eye on Xana, so there's no need to worry!"

"I'm not worried about Xana! I just don't like leaving you here all alone! I'm going to tell my dad I'm staying here!"

"She's not alone Jeremy!" Harry placed his hand on Jeremy's shoulders. "I'll keep an eye on her. It's a pity that Sissi had to go to see her mum earlier. I miss her already."

"No you're not! You should spend the holidays with your families. For me, it's…it's not the same thing…"

"Stop arguing," said Harry as he shook his head. "I have this feeling that if I tried to leave, Xana would find a way to stop me so I'm staying."

"Hm…" muttered Yumi as she watched Aelita.

"At holiday time our dad gets more stressed out than ever, which makes my mum hysterical. I think I'd rather stay here," said Ulrich.

"Yeah, me too! My sisters drive me nuts. Last year they locked me in the bathroom all night just because they thought it was funny!" exclaimed Odd.

"They did?" asked Yumi. "But…that's even worse than my kid brother! I thought they were older than you, Odd!"

"They are. And they're a lot bigger than me too, that's my problem…"

Everyone laughed.

"I think you need to teach them a lesson or two," sniggered Harry.

"Hey Ulrich, isn't that your dad's car over there?" asked Aelita as she pointed.

"Well the show must go on, see you soon everybody," muttered Ulrich quietly as he saw them.

"May the force be with you!" yelled Odd as he high fived Ulrich.

"See ya!" said Jeremy.

"It's not all that long," commented Yumi.

"Try and have some fun!"

"Don't let dad get to you!"

Another car pulled up as Ulrich walked out of the school.

"There's my father. Are you sure that you want to do this?"

"Go on now. I've got Kiwi and Harry to keep me company."

"Bye for now."

"Uh, speaking of Kiwi, don't feed him any cheese at all. It gives him gas. And that's more powerful than your energy fields!" exclaimed Odd dramatically as Jeremy walked away.

"Hahaha! Thanks for the tip!"

Ulrich

"I see you're still hanging around with that gang of good-for-nothings!" said Ulrich's dad as he drove away.

"And I see you forgot your happy pill again!"

"Ulrich!" warned his mum.

Jeremy

"Your friends seem really nice."

"Yep. They're my good buddies."

"That girl with the pink hair, is that Aelita, the one you're always talking about? She's very pretty! And I get the impression she likes you!"

Kadic

"Well, I'd better go. I promised mum that I'd help clean up," said Yumi as she pulled her bag on.

"See you Yumi."

"See you," Harry headed back into school.

"Are you sure that you don't want to spend the holidays with us?"

"No, I'm fine."

"If you need anything, you know my number."

"Have a nice holiday."

Aelita's dorm

The pink haired girl stroked Kiwi before picking up Mr Puck.

Flashback

"Oh he's so cute, I love him! What should I call him?" asked a young Aelita. Harry poked the elf before chewing on a stuffed dog.

"How about Mister Puck? It's the name of an elf!" suggested Franz.

"Do you like it?" asked Anthea.

"Oh yes, thank you, Mummy!" Aelita hugged her.

Flashback end

Aelita stroked the elf before looking down at the floor.

Jeremy

Jeremy's dad whistled as Jeremy looked thoughtful.

"You're very quiet. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Just think of something."

"Huh."

Ulrich

"You've disappointed me again, as usual Ulrich! I thought after the talk we had last month that you would try at least to make some kind of effort! Instead there's been no improvement at all! Plus, all those unexcused absences!" ranted Ulrich's dad. Ulrich laughed at a girl in another car. "And you find that amusing…!"

Aelita

Frowning, Aelita strode to the computer as it started playing an audio clip that she remembered Franz playing. A chat box opened.

"Daddy?" she started to type. "Where are you? Expecting me on Lyoko? You're not on the network? Rats. It bugged."

She almost ran in excitement from the pink-tinted screen before running out the room. A few minutes later, Harry knocked on the door and walked in.

"Aelita?" Glancing at the screen, Harry started then looked back. "Oh no. Xana!"

Yumi's house

"Yumi, could you please give me a hand in here?" called Yumi's mum as Yumi looked for her phone.

"As soon as I've finished calling my friend!" Yumi called back.

"Your phone call can wait! I need you to help me right now, if now I'll never finish all the housework in time!" Yu,i's mum stood in the door.

"But Mum you've got a whole week to do it!"

"Yes, and as usual, your father's not going to lift a finger so a week may not be enough!"

"Huh? What did I do this time?" asked Yumi's dad as he looked up from his newspaper, not paying a blind bit of attention to the conversation.

"Ugh!"

Harry

Harry ran to the manhole before skidding to a halt. "Not you again! I thought you had a restraining order!"

"Did you kill him?" asked Dumbledore.

"Did I kill who?"

"Voldemort."

"Flight of death? Nope."

"Harry!" Hermione ran and hugged him. "Thank you for those books. They were very interesting and I managed to get my laptop and wireless to work. Thank you!"

"Let me go Hermione. I have something very important to do and I have no idea how long it's going to take."

Hermione reluctantly released him.

Lab

"There isn't much time," Aeltia read of the screen. "Not much time for what? Here are the coordinates. See you in a minute my dear."

Taking note of the coordinates, Aelita started up the delayed virtualisation before entering a scanner.

"Aeltia!" Harry read the conversation on the screen. "You idiot. I could have stopped you if it wasn't for that idiot Dumbledore."

Lyoko

Aelita looked at a glowing bubble. "What Is that? A simulation bubble?"

Running over, she poked her hand through the wall then pushed through.

She stared at the cottage. "How can this be?!"

Waling inside, she stared at the man at the piano. "Daddy?"

"Aelita…we've so much catching up to do, and there's so little time!" Franz hugged her.

"I thought you were stuck on the network! That you couldn't come back to Earth because of Xana." Aelita started to cry.

"Stuck? No, dear…when Xana destroyed Lyoko I managed to escape and I have to hide. I have information to give you. But first, I wanted so much to hold you in my arms! I had to create the simulation bubble."

"This is fanastic! It's just the same!"

"Yes. This would allow us to do anything my dear. Like spending an evening together."

Lyoko

Harry landed on his feet and immediately spotted William. The ninja promptly faded away. "What are you doing?"

Tracking the black clad boy, Harry watched as William walked through the edge of the simulation bubble.

"So what are you planning with Aelita?"

Yumi

"Aelita come on, pick up, will you?" Yumi paced around the room.

"HIYAAAA!" Hiroki jumped at Yumi.

"Hey! What're you doing in here?! Get out!" yelled a stunned Yumi.

"Calling Ulrich?"

"Mind your own business! Do I ask you about Milly Solovieff?"

"Grrrrr!"

"Harry won't pick up either," muttered Yumi as she tried Harry. "This is too much of a coincidence. Hello Jeremy?"

"…for how long of a time? …their phone batteries might be dead, that's all. Think you can go over there and check it out? Keep me posted, ok?" asked Jeremy as he listened to Yumi. "Uh, dad? I forgot my laptop back at the dorm. Can i?"

"I get the idea," said Jeremy's dad as he turned around. "Your laptop would't have pink hair by any chance? I can understand that. I was in love once too."

"You were? Who?"

"Your mother."

Ulrich

"Oh, this traffic's horrible!" moaned Ulrich's dad as he beeped the horn."Getting all tense won't get us there any faster, dear!"

"That you Jeremy?" asked Ulrich as he picked up the mobile. "You sure? Something must be up. It's not like Harry to let his phone die. I'll let him know and we'll meet you know where. Anything is more fun than this."

"Ulrich! Where are you going?" demanded his dad as Ulrich steeped out the car.

"To get fresh air and to stretch my legs. Besides, it's faster than this." He pulled out his phone as he ran. "Odd! Something's wrong. Meet us at the factory."

"Ok. I'll tell my parents,"

"Well? Are you flying today or not?" asked the guard.

"Hang on. Adele? Oh sorry Pauline. Do you think that you could tell mum that I missed my flight? What do you mean tell them myself? Ok, change of plan."

Kadic

"Aelita?" asked Yumi as she pushed the door open and read the message on the screen. ""Expecting you here on Lyoko"…?"

Simulation Bubble

"No, as long as Xana hasn't been defeated, I can't rematerialise myself. But you, however, should be able to free your young friend. What was his name again?" asked Franz.

"William. But you should know that. I believe Harry told you."

"You can forgive me for forgetting. I'm going to send a program to Jeremy via the supercomputer. How ids your fight against Xana progressing?"

"We're searching the netork on our virtual ship, the Skidbladnir.

"The Skidbladnir? What a funny name."

"You know that name. It's in the book of Viking legends you used to read to me."

"Yes, of course. How could I forget?"

Frowning, Aelita looked at Franz.

Kadic

Running onto the grounds, Jeremy yelled "Thanks Dad!"

"Hurry Jeremy, Aelita virtualised herself onto Lyoko!" Yum told Jeremy as they met up.

"What? But why did she do that?"

"Her father asked her to… And Harry followed her."

Simulation bubble

"Is there something wrong?"

"Why did you ask me to come to Lyoko?"

"Because I wanted to see you," Franz answered quickly. "It's been such a long time."

"It's dangerous. Xana could attack at any time."

"Not as long as I'm with you." Aelita frowned. "And Harry could take care of it."

"It's true, everything's here, nothing's missing, except for one little thing…" Aelita trailed off.

"Oh really? What's that?"

"My mother!"

"But…you remember, dear, your mother disappeared…"

"Yes, and I want to see her again more than anything else in the world, and you know that! You've always known! And since you're a perfectionist, you'd have recreated her here in the simulation bubble, THAT IS, unless you weren't really my father!"

"Aelita!"

"Stay away from me, Xana!" Aelita walked out the door to be driven back by William.

"Hello, Aelita!"

Lab

"Hm…what if it was Hopper who contacted Aelita?" asked Yumi.

"Xana's pulled this on us before. I don't think Hopper would risk this with his own daughter!" reminded Jeremy. "They're in the ice sector. In a simulation bubble?"

"In what?"

"A copy of the real world," explained Jeremy. "Remember the ghost channel Xana trapped you, Odd and Ulrich in? Like that. You're going in."

Bubble

"Oh, go away William," called a new voice. William chuckled as he turned to face Harry who was leaning against the door. "You should know better than to try to get Aelita on her own."

"I'm not after Aelita though that would be a bonus. Not now you're here."

"Talking to me again, are you?" Harry raised an eyebrow as he smiled at Aelita. "Good to see you're unharmed Aelita."

Aelita nodded and tried to slip out of the room again but the fake Franz caught her.

"Better give up, Aelita," suggested William. "You can't beat us."

Harry used William's distraction to throw two energy fields then grunted and fell to the ground.

"Aelita, go."

Aelita hesitated then half pulled half carried Harry out of the room. William grumbled as he recovered then turned his attention to the fake Franz.

"What are you waiting for? Get after them!"

The fake Franz ran out the door as he morphed into a giant wolf.

Lyoko

"Jeremy, I didn't land inside the bubble."

"I can't virtualise you directly inside it. You'll have to find a way in."

"Any ideas?"

"Nope but Xana's probably screening his guests."

"He even left a couple of bouncers." Pulling out her fans, Yumi deflected the tarantula's' shots.

Simulation bubble

Aelita glanced around as she reached the edge of the bubble. "Harry, you have to wake up."

She violently shook him.

"You should have left me." Harry's voice was faint. "I'm the one William wants. That's why every time I use my abilities, I get weaker. That's a pretty recent addition to the bubble though."

"Can you get us out of here?"

Harry opened his eyes a fraction. "I can get one of us out. Aelita, bury me next to the edge. Hopefully the cold will get to me before William. There has to be an escape clause. Xana doesn't want me dead after all."

Aelita hesitated.

"Do it. It won't take William long to find us. Those shots were as powerful as I could make them so he'll be down for a while."

She nodded and started to cover Harry with snow. Once he was completely covered, a gap formed and Aelita ran through as a wolf bounded over. The gap clicked shut.

Lyoko

"Good to see you again. How's your vacation?" asked Yumi as Ulrich and Odd ran over.

"Short. Good to be back though! Where are Aelita and Harry?"

"Somewhere inside that bubble thing…"

A gap appeared and Aeltia stumbled out. The gap closed.

"Aelita!" The three ran over to her, defeating monsters on the way. "Where's Harry?"

"He's still in there. With William." Aelita placed her hands against the bubble and started to use her creativity.

Simulation bubble

"Find him. He has to be around here." The wolf put its snout to the snow and started to sniff as William looked around. "You won't escape that easily Harry."

He studied the snowdrift thoughtfully as the wolf started to sniff around it in interest. "If I were you, I would try to get close to death…"

William knelt down and started to shift the snow aside. Eventually he uncovered Harry. He quickly scooped Harry up and ran back to the hut where he sat down and cradled him after covering him with a blanket. Harry stirred.

"You found me."

"I did." William ran his fingers through Harry's hair. "Do not try to escape again."

"I didn't ask Aelita to drag me away," muttered Harry. "I take it that Xana is trying to implant a program to make me go to him."

William remained silent as he continued to stroke Harry's head.

"You're a big conversationalist, you know that?"

"Don't fight it."

"Can't really do much. Can't run, can't fight so I might as well stay here."

William sighed in contentment. "Finally you just accept this."

"It's more because I can't do anything else! And I still have hope. If the process doesn't complete, it won't be very effective and it will fade away. By the way, did Xana kill old Voldemort?"

Silence was all that waited for Harry before William spoke. "Yes."

The simulation bubble exploded.

Lyoko

"Nice timing Aelita!" Harry tried to stand but fell back to the ground. Yumi got devirtualised by a Blok. "I'd help you but I don't think I'm going anywhere fast."

Turning his head around, Harry searched for William who looked up before staring at Aelita.

"It doesn't matter; you lose no matter what Aelita."

"Not yet." Forming an energy field, Aelita sent it at William. The possessed boy forced her to the edge.

A small orange ball formed near Harry. Squinting at it, Harry thought he saw a figure in it as the ball grew. William glanced behind him as Odd and Ulrich approached.

"Manta! Attack!" He sent it towards the boys. Straining, Harry tried to stand again before glancing at the ball. His eyes winded as he recognised the figure.

"Me?" Placing his hand on the ball, Harry focused on breaking through the shell. Aelita tried to fly away but the Blok shot her

"You want to leave? Be my guest." Black smoke formed in his hand before he forced Aelita over the digital sea.

"Aelita! Come on! There has to be a way to break this thing!" The ball shattered and the data inside it shot into Harry whose exhaustion faded away in an instant.

"Aelita!"

"Better bring her in Jeremy," called Ulrich. "We can't reach her in time."

"I don't believe it."

Jumping to his feet, Harry ran straight for the two but too late. William threw Aelita down into the digital sea and a column of light shot up.

"Aelita! No!"

"This can't be happening. Not Aelita!" Jeremy moaned as Yumi walked in. "Yumi, Aelita's gone."

"Please uncle. Please bring her back," whispered Harry as he turned to William before jumping off the edge and waving his hand over the platted band on his wrist. Invisible wings shot out from his back. Landing on the digital sea, the ninja peered through. "Please get to her in time."

"This is really going to cost you," called Odd.

Ulrich charged William who dodged and looked down at the digital sea.

"It looks like he's waiting for something."

"Uncle..."

"Perhaps he's just waiting for Harry to get back up," suggested Yumi.

"Huh?"

"Einstein, something's happening," called Odd. Staring at the digital sea, William switched his gaze between Harry and the actual sea.

"I think I get the picture."

Smiling, Harry jumped up and spread his wings as a familiar pink ball rose from the digital sea.

"VICTORY! FIRE!"

Dodging the lasers, Harry fired back at the monsters, allowing Franz to place Aelita on the ground. Ulrich attacked William who dodged and started attacking. Harry took out a block while Odd took out a manta.

"Good to see you again Aelita!"

William devirtualised Ulrich then gazed at Harry and shook his head as he sent an energy wave at Odd who also devirtualised.

"Harry, get your game on!" Franz dived and William angrily devirtualised Aeltia.

"Ok, bring me in Einstein before William dear tries anything. He's already had a go at me."

"NOOO!"

Scanners

"You gave us a real scare princess," said Odd as the two rematerialsed.

"Well, at least no one is possessed and no one has been lost in the digital sea," said Harry with a grin. "That's a good day as far as I'm concerned."

"I still have no idea what's going on," complained Odd.

"Xana lured Aelita to Lyoko. I followed, William tried to subdue me by taking away my strength while in the bubble, Aelita escaped, she destroyed the bubble then got thrown into the digital sea. Franz rescued her and William tried to destroy him as usual," explained Harry as they walked to the school. "As long as uncle is still alive, Xana has one big threat to him."

Odd started handing out presents. Jeremy squashed a rubber duck.

"You're not opening yours?" asked Odd.

"No, in Japan, you never open a present in front of the person who gave it to you," explained Ulrich.

"A slinky. Really Odd?" asked Harry in bemusement.

"Yeah, you know you keep pinging back?"

"Aelita, you're coming home with me. My parents want to meet you."

"I don't want to bother them."

"It's no bother. They're the ones who insisted. What'choo thinking about?"

"About my father. When he saved me, even in his virtual form…I could feel his presence, like he was holding me in his arms…"

"Yeah, kinda reminds me what I felt when my mum hugged me." Harry's eyes gained a misty look. "I miss her."

Aelita hugged Harry. "You've still got me."
