The Thing With Hajimes
Me: Guys! I came up with something cool to happen that isn't filler! I got out of my writer's block!
Keith: T.T for now
Me: it's going to be awesome!
Kellyn: this could end badly
Kate: pokelover0ash does not own anything but her OCs!
Karrie: let's do this!
Chapter 57: A Timely Adventure
Keith slowly came to his senses the next morning. His chocolate brown eyes looked around the room as he tried to remember where he was. The first thought in his head was Karrie. He looked over at the bed and frowned when he didn't see her on it. He moved to get up to use the bathroom when he realized that there was something on his lower leg. While frowning, Keith moved his blankets out of the way so he could see what was there.
Keith was surprised to find that Karrie somehow ended up moving from the bed to be sprawled out across the floor. Her arms were stretch out so that her hands could hold onto his one leg. Her legs were stretch out so that at least one of her toes were almost in Kellyn's mouth.
Speaking of Kellyn, how did he get off the bed? He was the injured one. Kellyn must have fallen off the bed and had taken Karrie down with him. Kellyn's fingers of one hand were intertwined with ones belonging to one of Kate's hands. Kate was sleeping surprisingly peacefully seeing as she had one of Karrie's calves across her face.
It probably was about the weirdest sleeping arrangement Keith had ever seen. Rebecca slowly opened the door and blinked a few times at what she saw. Keith forced a smile onto his face and shrugged, hoping she would understand that he had no idea how her daughter became attached to him at some point during the night.
"I'm surprised, she's normally up by now," Rebecca commented as she looked at Karrie. "Mostly because she has insomnia." Keith nodded. "It's also the first time I've seen her do that with anyone outside the family, or rather the family she is closest with." Keith blinked as he looked at Karrie. "Take good care of my daughter, please." Keith blushed and nodded. With that, Rebecca smiled and left. Keith smiled at the sleeping Karrie only to freeze when he felt someone's stares burning into his back. He looked back and it was Daniel. He tried to not look nervous.
"You should be leaving today." Daniel said. He looked exhausted, like he hadn't slept in at least a week. "Breakfast should be done soon. Get ready." Keith quickly nodded and Daniel left. Keith stared at his leg as he tried to figure out how to not disturb his sleeping girlfriend. Karrie's eyes shot open and her leg jerked as she tightened her grip on his leg. He looked over and he tried to not laugh. Kellyn had bit Karrie's toes as soon as he was conscious enough to be aware that they were in his mouth. Kate groaned as her face was squished. Karrie glared at Kellyn as she tried to kick him. Kellyn glared right back. Kellyn blew cold air and Keith could feel Karrie shiver.
Karrie, on instinct, moved quickly to get away from the cold air. This caused her to attach herself further onto Keith's leg unintentionally. Realizing that she didn't normally have something warm and hairy in her room, Karrie looked up. She blushed as soon as her blue-green eyes met Keith's brown eyes.
"Morning," Keith said with a smile. Kellyn was able to piece together what had happened and ended up getting vague idea of what the set up had looked like before he woke up. He roared in laughter, waking Kate up. Kate rubbed her eyes with one has as she propped herself up. Karrie let go of Keith and sat up, flinging a pillow at Kellyn as she did so. The pillow hit Kellyn square in the face, effectively stopping him from laughing. Kellyn went to retaliate, but Kate wiggled her hand out of his and put that hand in front of his chest to stop him.
"Don't bite my feet," Karrie said as she glared at her brother.
"Don't stick them in my mouth," Kellyn replied as he glared back.
"How did you two get on the floor?" Kate asked.
"Good question," Keith commented. "But I'm more curious to know why Kellyn is able to move so freely now." Kellyn and Karrie blinked as Kate glanced at Kellyn's leg and arm. Kellyn was moving both arms freely and he wasn't wincing from the bruising on his ribs. Seeing as none of them heard Kellyn cry out in pain when he fell of the bed (or somehow got of the bed), his leg probably wasn't bothering him anymore. "New superpower?"
"I didn't think Mom, Lyra, Yellow, and Kiwi were that good," Karrie replied and Kellyn shook his head.
"It could have been Dad," Kellyn said.
"But he never uses Ho-Oh's healing powers," Karrie commented.
"Is that why your father looked like he hadn't slept in at least a week?" Keith asked and everyone stared at him. "What? Both of your parents came in while you three were asleep. Thank goodness they didn't think I had anything to do with the sleeping arrangement."
"Well, good thing is that we'll be able to go back today then," Kellyn replied with a shrug.
"I smell food," Karrie said and her stomach growled. Keith and Kate laughed.
"Alright, let's get changed and eat then," Kate said as she got up. "I think your cousins plus Isaac are in your room Kellyn." Kellyn got up so fast that Keith was almost convinced that he had teleportation powers. Kellyn was out the door in a heartbeat. "Karrie, come on, Keith needs his clothes. It will look weird if he doesn't return with his clothes." Karrie nodded before grabbing the clothes that she had worn the day they time traveled and so did Kate. The girls got changed in time to here Kellyn yell at his cousins.
"YOU TRASHED IT!" Kellyn yelled.
"Ten bucks that Gold was one of the ringleaders behind that one," Karrie said.
"Ray, stop betting on me!" Gold yelled as he knew she could hear them and that his cousin would be one to bet on something like that.
"He's good," Karrie mumbled as she handed Keith his clothes. Keith nodded and mumbled a thank you before kissing the top of her head and leaving to go to the bathroom. Karrie turned bright red. Kate left to go see the problem, only to find Kellyn's room trashed. The dresser was broken, clothes were everywhere, feathers were scattered everywhere, the mattress was leaned up against something for a slide, pillows were laying around the floor, and some books were on the floor. Garnet looked up at her with tired red eyes by the book case that held most of Kellyn's books and collectibles. It was as if he was apologizing to her that he had only been able to save that part of Kellyn's room. Garnet's hair was sticking up all over the place with at least one pillow feather sticking out of it. Gold sat on a nightstand, trying to cover up the fact that they had managed to knock over and break one of Kellyn's lamps. He didn't look much different from last night. Red's hair remained unchanged as well. Isaac pulled open a closet door to reveal that he had retreated to the protection of a closet for the night. Kenny popped up from a blanket pile with frizzy hair. He smiled at Kate before looking at Kellyn. Kenny then debated whether or not he should go back into hiding.
"What's all the racket about?" Crystal asked as she walked in, fully clothed in her normal outfit. Yellow was yawning and rubbing her eyes as she followed her blue haired friend. "Gold!"
"Why does everyone assume it's my fault?" Gold asked as he rolled his eyes.
"I wanted to have a pillow fight," Red said with a smile.
"And then there was big rough housing fight that Garnet and I tried to stop at first," Isaac added.
"I tried, I really did," Garnet mumbled.
"What happened here?" Lyra asked as she popped her head in.
"Not Gold," Karrie commented as she handed Keith ten bucks.
"I told you not to bet on me," Gold said as he rolled his eyes.
"Do any of you know how hard I worked to get all of that into pristine condition?" Kellyn asked. Red and Kenny both looked at Lyra and she glared at them.
"For the love of Arceus, my job is not to keep cleaning up after you guys make stupid decisions," Lyra said. "This is the last time." She put her hand out and a green energy orb glowed around her hand. Everything in Kellyn's room returned to its original state.
"Well, glad that's settled," Gold commented as he brushed himself off. "Let's eat!" Later they all ended up sitting around the dinner table, fully clothed, eating breakfast. Suddenly a loud noise sounded from above them.
"What's that?" Rhythmi asked and Daniel counted the number of Hajimes present.
"Well, not one of us, at least not one who is supposed to be here," Daniel replied.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence," Gold commented sarcastically. "Can't believe you had to double check to make sure we were all here." A grayish white energy started to penetrate the ceiling.
"Um, I think we should start moving downstairs," Lyra commented. Rebecca grabbed Kiwi and took the elevator with Isaac close behind while dragging Rhythmi with him. Everyone else headed to the stairs only to be caught up in the energy.
Kate looked around while trying to figure out where they were. They were on top of a tall stone watchtower and the scenery looked nothing like Summerland with exception of the smell of the sea faintly still in the air.
"Are we still in Summerland?" Yellow asked as she looked around.
"Where are we?" Gold asked.
"Something tells me that a better question would be WHEN are we?" Crystal asked as she saw aerodactyls flying through the sky.
"We didn't travel through space, but rather time," Lyra replied as her brown eyes narrowed.
"Great, I've always wanted to visit Summerland in the middle ages," Keith commented sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.
"Good news is that Mom, Kiwi, Isaac, and Rhythmi didn't get sucked up into this," Kellyn said.
"Yep, just us," Kenny added.
"We're so lucky," Garnet commented sarcastically. Lyra jumped off the tower and landed perfectly on her feet. Gold picked up Crystal and flew off.
"What are we doing?" Crystal asked.
"Going after the girl who can most likely bring us back to the correct time," Gold replied.
"Well, he has a point," Garnet commented as he held a weak Daniel on his back. "You owe me one." Daniel grunted in response. "Next time don't rush a recovery process so much."
"I don't need a lecture from one of the younger Protectors," Daniel complained.
"So, how are we getting down?" Keith asked as he looked at Karrie. She bit her lip as she looked down.
"Kenny," Karrie replied before jumping onto Kenny so that he couldn't get away. Red flew off with Yellow and Keith tried to not awkwardly hold on to Kenny so that the Hajime could fly off. Kellyn picked Kate up bridal style and floating down using his cold air powers. It was just in time: the tower was suddenly destroyed. A cloaked man hovered in the air, giving them a condescending look.
"So glad you were smart enough to move," the man said.
"Hey!" Garnet exclaimed as he hit an invisible wall. He began to float as a light encompassed Daniel. "Just my luck." The man's eyes narrowed.
"So Palkia's protector is here too," the man said. A very old woman came out of the forests while relying heavily on a walker. A very old man followed her while using a cane. "And Dialga. I've been expecting you, or rather we have." Two people emerged from the shadows, one emerged from the ground, one from the trees, and on from above.
"Garnet, let go of your uncle," the old woman said.
"But," Garnet replied, but as soon as he saw the seriousness in the elderly woman, he let go of Daniel and he floated away into a pink portal, disappearing from everyone's sight.
"Arceus needs to speak with him," the old woman explained. "Reckless boy also wouldn't be much help here."
"Don't get us wrong, we only want to challenge everyone to a fair fight," the second floating man said while the first smirked.
"So we'll offer a way out for whomever you don't want to get caught up in this battle," the first man said as a suspicious looking portal opened. "With the two of us around, you can't all escape without something terribly wrong happening to your time travelers." Red put down Yellow as Gold pushed Crystal over towards it. Karrie and Keith got off Kenny. Karrie looked at Keith.
"No, that thing looks sketchy, I'm not getting in it," Keith protested. The old man held out his hand and did something to the portal.
"There, slightly more safe," the old man said. "No need for distractions, do you want to hold any of them back because they're trying to protect you?" Crystal clenched her fists and Keith clenched his jaw. Yellow's hands began to glow as if she was going to try to prove a point. Kellyn walked over to the portal.
"I'm sorry," Kellyn said.
"Don't you dare! I can fight!" Kate protested. Kellyn looked away and dropped her into the portal. "KELLYN!" Keith looked at the ground briefly before going to the portal.
"I won't forgive any of you if a single one of you dies," Keith said before stepping into the portal. Crystal grabbed hold of Yellow's hand and dragged her to the portal.
"I'm not going to leave Red behind," Yellow said.
"Don't make him toss you into the darn thing," Crystal replied. "Face the facts, right now, the best thing we can do is get out of the way." Yellow took out her fishing pole using the energy she had been emitting from her hands. Red flinched, knowing full well what could happen next.
"Feisty, sure we can't play with either or them?" One of the people from the shadows asked with a twisted smile plastered on her face. The Hajimes looked at her with demonic eyes.
"You want to play?" Crystal asked. Gold clenched his fists, ready to kill any one of their opponents if they dared to lay a single finger on Crystal.
"How about we show them not to mess with the affairs of Protectors and Hunters?" The man from the trees asked before he sent out a group of ten shadow creatures to attack the two Tamers. Gold swore out loud and went to attack, but he didn't have to. Yellow's fishing rod began to move and soon four of the creatures were defeated. Crystal took down another four. The shadow creatures reformed to make a larger creature. Red pushed the two girls out of the way and into the portal as he took a powerful attack head on for them.
"RED!" Yellow screamed and Red had to use electricity to redirect the wire that belong to her fishing pole so that it wouldn't catch him. Gold caught the bait and tied the wire around Garnet.
"What are you doing?" Garnet asked. "I can fight, I've been training my whole life."
"This is a more serious fight, little brother," Gold replied.
"You're the youngest," Red added as he wrestled with the shadow creation. "Mom would never forgive us if you got hurt."
"Don't baby me," Garnet shouted as tears started to form in his eyes. He tried to move in the opposite direction of the tug of the wire, to escape being pulled in.
"Then get going and make sure that what lies on the other side of that thing isn't a trap!" Gold shouted. "Don't think for a second that we don't respect your power and abilities, little man! We love you, which is why we can't let you get involved in this fight." Gold pushed Garnet off balance and Garnet helplessly got sucked into the portal. Kellyn glanced over at Karrie. She growled at him.
"Don't you dare even try to execute that thought," Karrie said as she bared her teeth at him.
"Oh the drama! What an interesting development!" The first man to appear said. "Great idea though, follow our advice and let the weakest ones go." He grinned like a psychopath before disappearing. Lyra swore loudly.
"A trap," Karrie commented before spitting on the ground.
"Give the little dragon ten points, bravo!" The woman who came from the shadows exclaimed before laughing and clapping.
"You really think that you'll win so easily?" Kenny asked.
"Win? No, they're foolish to think that they can win," Kellyn said as he looked at his opponents with dangerously cold eyes. "They don't stand a chance." Each one of them looked at their enemies with murderous intent. There was no way any of them were going to let the Hunters win this round.
~with Kate and the others~
"Kellyn? KELLYN!" Kate yelled with tears in her eyes as she looked around at her surroundings. He was nowhere to be found. She tore up some grass and threw it. "I can fight."
"Hey, what did the grass ever do to you?" Keith asked as he walked over to stand by her side.
"You came too?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, well, I wasn't going to ask them to throw me in that thing and I think out of us all, I'm the most useless," Keith replied. He didn't like being useless.
If only I could do more, then I could be relied on more in these circumstances. Keith thought as he clenched his fists. If only I knew how to use my powers better and more of what I can do...
Crystal landed on Keith, followed by Yellow.
"I'm going to kill those two, we were going to win!" Crystal exclaimed. Yellow had tears in her eyes as she waited for her bait to return. A light flickered in the sky and Garnet came out screaming. Garnet landed hard on the ground.
"Where's Red?" Yellow asked.
"Why are you here?" Kate asked.
"Stupid brothers, finally start to act like loving family members only to toss me out of a battle," Garnet mumbled as he sat up and undid Gold's tying job. He looked around. "Not Summerland in the time we were in for sure." He sniffed the air.
"Bring us back!" Kate yelled.
"Kate, I don't think he can do that," Keith replied gently.
"I have to help Kellyn! I need to go back!" Kate exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
"Red always does this to me," Yellow mumbled as she got up.
"Is this?" Garnet asked and Keith looked around. His eyes widened.
"Sinnoh," Keith replied. "I don't think we're too far from Jubilife City, if we're in the right time, that is." Crystal took out her pokegear.
"Hey professor, this might seem strange, but can you tell me what year, day, and time it is?" Crystal asked. Professor Oak responded by giving them the exact day, year, and time it was before they witnessed their first Hunter versus Protector battle in Almia. "Yeah, Gold dared me to do it, I'm sorry." With that, she hung up.
"Any ideas on how to get back to Almia?" Keith asked.
"Fly, sail, teleport," Yellow replied.
"You can fly us, right?" Kate asked as she looked at Garnet. "Maybe Lyra will come back there and be able to send us back."
"Do I look like I can carry everyone at once let alone one of you on such a long distance trip?" Garnet asked as he sweat dropped. "I unfortunately can't help you much about that."
"It's a long shot, but if we can find one of the trainers I know off who could help us get there quickly before we create temporal inconsistencies, then it's worth a shot," Crystal said before Kate could accidentally hurt anyone as she vented out her frustrations.
"Cute, they're trying to make plans," a pink haired blue eyed teenage girl said as she placed her hand on her hip. A team of eight pokemon showed up behind her, all with strange markings and all looking ready to kill without hesitation. The Hunter who had showed himself first earlier suddenly appeared.
"Oh ho ho, surprised are we?" The man asked and teenage boy came out of the side of a cliff/mountain/hill. The sandy brown headed boy grinned, looked thrilled to get to fight someone. Crystal, Yellow, Keith, Kate, and Garnet all put their back together as they stood as one, ready to defend themselves.
"Well, I knew that portal was sketchy," Keith commented as he put his fists up, ready to fight despite being almost completely sure that he didn't have any powers that he could use in a physical fight.
"We should have just listened to Red and Gold," Yellow commented.
"For once, Gold was right," Crystal replied in agreement and Garnet sighed.
"Yeah, you both should have, but that's behind us now," Garnet said. "Now we have to fight so that everyone stuck in the past has something to return to. Kate nodded.
"Let's win," Kate said.
