Cousins once removed
Jeremy's phone rang. He answered it reluctantly. "What is it now Odd?"
"Yumi and Aelita just said that they could wipe us out in foosball. We're going to teach them a lesson. Want to watch?" asked Odd. "Ask Harry that too."
"I'm working on the Navskid program. I can't."
"We'd thought you'd just like to see it. Not to play," explained Odd.
"Reinforcing the Skid is slightly more important than foosball. You don't want your next expedition to be the last," pointed out Jeremy.
"Always the optimist, aren't you?" asked Odd loudly and sarcasticly. "You could do with a little break. You work too hard."
Jeremy disconnected the call.
"I'm saying out of this," muttered Harry as Jeremy muttered to himself. There was a knock on the door.
"Now who's going to waste my time?" Delmas walked in, having heard the comment.
"Thanks for the warm welcome Belpois."
"Oh. Hello Mr Delmas."
"Don't mind him. He's just a little grumpy," said Harry quickly. "He got out the wrong side of the bed this morning.."
"I hope you'll be a little happier to see your cousin." Delmas moved to the side. "Come in."
"Hello Jeremy."
"Patrick? What are you doing here?" asked Jeremy in surprise as he saw the brown haired boy. Harry hacked into Jeremy's computer, saved the work and closed the program.
"I'm surprised your parents didn't tell you. He's been enrolled here. we thought we would put him with you until he gets a room of his own. A camping bed should do the trick."
"But sir..."
"Welcome to Kadic. Belpois, I'll leave you with... Belpois. It might be an idea to show him around."
"Nice to see you cuz. I caught you by surprise, didn't I? You're glad to see me, I hope."
"Yeah. Overjoyed. I have work to do. Don't you have your things to get or a form to fill?" asked a very grumpy Jeremy.
"I guess. Who's the pale black haired boy?"
"That's Harry. My best friend." The rest of the group ran in.
"Nice to meet you."
"Same."
"Did anyone tell you it's bad manners to hang up on people?" asked Odd as he saw Patrick. "Incredible! Einstein's made a handsomer clone of himself!"
"Very funny. This is my cousin Patrick. He's going to be a student here."
"And Jeremy doesn't like him. He's only been here a few minutes and I can tell that," added Harry.
"Hi, I'm Ulrich, Harry's brother. Another Belpois huh? You also nuts about square roots and all that?" asked Ulrich
"Oh no," replied Patrick. "I'm not as bright as Jeremy, that's for sure!"
"You think he's bright, do you?" asked Odd. "If you ask me, he wears kinda drab colours!"
"Well, I guess compared to what you wear, anything is kinda drab."
"Hey, this is a classy outfit based on Kung Fu Commando. Look at what Harry wears. A blue top and black trousers. That's plain."
Harry looked annoyed and like he was planning murder.
"I think it suits him. And I guess you're stuck at level seven. The costumes get worse after that."
"You two should get along. A couple of joystick junkies," added Ulrich before going into some detail.
"Right but can everyone get out? I'm trying to work here," interrupted Jeremy. "A report on the Vikings and their legendary ship. The Skidbladnir. It's important."
Everyone moved out of the room in some disappointment.
"Why don't you come with us?" asked Yumi to Patrick.
"That would be great. Thanks. They're really nice Jeremy."
"I can see what you're after. Just leave my friends alone."
"Is that family reunion typical?" asked Yumi.
"Meet you over there." Aelita doubled back. "I forgot my mobile."
Yumi shrugged.
"Why do you act like that with him?" asked Aelita.
"Because I know him. He tries to act super cool to make me look bad. Like at summer camp, Patrick would steal all my friends and act like I didn't exist."
"Maybe he didn't do it on purpose. He seems nice to me."
"He's doing it right now." Jeremy turned his back.
"Don't make excuses for being a sore loser and acting like a three year old baby," huffed Aelita. "Chill out and stop feeling sorry for yourself for not being like him."
"Are you done? I've already wasted enough time."
Aelita huffed and walked out.
Rec room
"What's taking Aelita so long anyway?" asked Odd. "I can't wait to teach you ladies a lesson."
"Like the one we're giving you now?" asked Yumi.
"You don't deserve the credit. It was Patrick's pass!"
"Yeah. If Jeremy wasn't stuck to his computer all day, he might be able to play like you," added Ulrich.
"I wouldn't be too hard on him. It's harder to be a whiz in maths that at foosball."
"It's incredible. Einstein treats you like dirt and you defend him. If he was my cousin, I'd ask for a divorce!" cried Odd. Herb listened in.
"Very interesting."
"Can we change the channel?" asked Nicholas. "This is the third episode of Love, Glory and Paella in a row!"
"Shut up. I'm in control."
Sissi glanced at them as she walked to the group.
"Have you seen Harry?"
"He's in his dorm. I'd be careful. Jeremy's in a mood," said Ulrich.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"Me? A three year old baby? I'm a loser but not a baby," grumbled Jeremy. There was a knock at the door.
"She does have a point," said Harry. "You acted a bit jealous."
Jeremy ignored him. "Who's there?"
"Well then, Belpois, got a little family company?" asked Jim. Jeremy turned away. "Oh, looks like you'd rather not talk about it. Happens to me sometimes too!"
"Good news. About time." Harry looked at the display as Sissi popped her head in.
Rec room
"Hello? Jeremy, is that you?" asked Aelita into the phone.
"Yes Aelita. I have to tell you something."
"If you're going to be as rude as..."
"The super scan picked up a replika," interrupted Jeremy. "Harry's leaving his clones to keep an eye on the update."
"What?"
"We'll meet you at the factory. Call the others."
"Now?"
"Yes now."
"Aelita!" called Odd. "Finally!"
"Little change of program."
"Xana?" asked Yumi. Patrick raised an eyebrow. Aelita nodded.
"Replika."
"Sorry, we have to go now. A little problem came up," said Ulrich as they left.
"Who are Xana and Replika, a couple of Greek friends?" asked Patrick in confusion.
"Uhh haha…right! And they make a wicked moussaka, but you gotta eat it while it's hot," lied Odd.
Herb followed.
"I can't keep it from you anymore! I'm not Ramone's brother…" said the actor.
"Change the channel, what are you waiting for?" Nicholas muttered to himself as he did so
"Incredible save by the goalie. The pressures on…still no score…" Nicholas stood up.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"Huh, they locked the door. Good thing the principal have me a copy of the key," said Patrick to himself.
"I'm Herb. I wanted to meet you." Patrick raised an eyebrow. "Do you and Jeremy hate each other?"
"We don't hate each other."
"There's no reason to lie. I know everything. I'm on the side of the good guys. Jeremy and his gang are up to no good. Together we can catch them."
"Jeremy?" asked Patrick in disbelief as he sat on the bed. "He doesn't do anything bad. Besides, he's always in front of his computer."
"What if the answer was in his computer?" Herb walked over to it and sat down. One of Harry's invisible clones locked the monitor as the computer continued to run.
Digital sea
"I'd thought you'd like to know. Herb is trying to hack your computer Jeremy," said Harry.
"That idiot," muttered Sissi. "Jeremy, do you want me to deal with him?"
"I think so. I'll devirtualise you when you get to the replika. Trio of sharks at ten o'clock."
The digital sea turned rea.
"Less than one for each of us?" asked Odd. "Piece of cake! And I'm the expert at desserts!"
"Navskids away!"
"The shield hasn't finished uploading yet!"
Harry rolled his eyes and started chasing the sharks.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
Herb managed to unfreeze the moniter. "Good security. That was hard to get past. And there's a program running that's blocking access to Jeremy's files."
"What you're doing is way out of line," complained Patrick.
"If Jeremy hasn't got anything to hide, we won't find anything." A picture of a shark appeared on the screen before Herb worked past it. "I think this is Harry's doing."
"It's still wrong. And Harry is a computer whiz. He could easily give Jeremy a copy of any program he created. He's Jeremy's friend."
"And I shut down the program."
Digital sea
The shields dropped and the engine cut off.
"Harry, could you tell your clones to get Herb off the computer?" asked Jeremy.
"Sure." Harry destroyed a Shark and he ganged up with Sissi.
"Navskids back to the skid."
"What's wrong?" asked Odd.
"I don't have a shield. Harry's run on an independent system so he'll be fine for now."
Everyone but Harry went after her as Aelita drifted away.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"I see her date of birth, her school files, national security number… It's like he forged all of her records."
"Wait! I'm sure that's Aelita's real ID file, he must've scanned them for the photo, he's got a crush on her, right?" asked Patrick.
"Yeah, and her health records? Did he scan those to get her eye colour?" asked Herb. The computer locked down. "What?"
"Sorry Herb, I can't let you look at Jeremy's things," said Harry.
"When did you get here?" asked Herb.
"None of your business."
"Someone's trying to access the system from a distance," said Herb as the computer opened and a file was accessed. "Deny."
Lab
"Access denied," muttered Jeremy. "The only way to deal with this bug is to get back to my room."
"Thanks a lot for leaving us alone to protect Aelita," said Yumi grumpily.
"There's a whole aquarium and they won't let us get through," added Ulrich. Harry destroyed another shark.
"As soon as the bug's fixed, I can bring the Skids in. I don't believe it. Activated tower in the desert. We're changing our plan. Bring Aelita back to Lyoko."
"You want us to turn a squadron of deadly Sharks into fish sticks, find the Skid and haul it back with our tiny little reactors?" asked Odd.
"That…pretty much sums it up," said Jeremy.
"Ok, we're on it, Einstein!"
"I'm activating a firewall in the system so you shouldn't have any trouble."
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"Jean-Pierre Delmas speaking."
"This is Mr Dunbar here. I'm calling to tell you that my son William still has the flu. The doctor advises more bed rest until returning to school."
"Right. Thank you."
The three listened to the clip.
"Hacking phones is a serious offence," said Herb gleefully. "You're through Jeremy Belpois."
Harry closed his eyes as Herb burned the data to a disk.
"I'm sure Jeremy has a perfectly good explanation," said Patrick as he pulled Herb away from the computer. Harry grabbed the disc and broke it. Smoke slipped out of a socket and went into Herb.
"Uh oh." Harry turned to the computer and rapidly typed. The computer locked itself. "That should keep them out for a while."
Herb advanced on them and attempted to throw Patrick out of the room. Harry grabbed his arm as his twin jumped on his back. "Get going Patrick."
Patrick ran out of the room.
Digital sea
Harry destroyed the last shark. "Let's go find Aelita."
Everyone dived.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"Patrick? You ok?" asked Jeremy as they ran into each other in the corridor.
"This guy Herb was snooping in your room. He went totally mental and kicked me out of the room. He's going to show Aeltia's ID to the principal. This is my entire fault. You didn't like me to start with. And does your roommate have a twin?"
"Long story. And I was the one who was acting like a total pig. No hard feelings?"
"No sweat."
"I don't have time to explain now but if we let Herb mess around with my computer, getting expelled would be the least of our problems. Can you help me?"
"Count on it."
They charged into the room.
Digital sea
The Skid continued to sink as a squid went after it. Aelita pressed buttons as it latched on.
"What was that?"
A drill came out from the squid and started to drill.
"Over there! I can see the Skid," said Odd before noticing the Squid. "What have we got now?! It looks like a monster from The Dentist Steel Massacre!"
"Yeah, except this one looks worse," said Yumi.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"Quit while you're ahead Xana. You can't beat me using that body."
Herb growled and slammed the clone into the wall. It disappeared. Growling, Herb turned back to the computer and hacked it.
Digital sea
"You were right. The mad dentist was better than this," said Odd.
"Get into formation." They did that as the power drained.
"What's going on?" asked Ulrich.
"No idea," said Yumi. "You got any ideas Harry?"
"Xana? Oh, more sharks."
One hit Ulrich.
"My deflector shield is almost gone. One more hit and it's all over."
"To think I'll never get to level eight of Kung-Fu Commando… Patrick's such a lucky guy," moaned Odd.
Harry's and Jeremy's Dorm
"He's blown a fuse, don't you think?" asked Patrick.
"Now there's an idea. If I cut the power, my computer will turn off. So will the access to the supercomputer!"
Jeremy ran out of the room like a person possessed before entering the boiler room and switching the power off.
"This is impossible," muttered Herb. He ran after Jeremy and attempted to attack him. Patrick tried to stop him but got knocked unconscious.
Digital sea
The Skid powered back up. "Jeremy did it. Jeremy? Jeremy?!"
"Nice to hear your voice again Aelita," said Ulrich. "Einstein strikes again."
"Ok, back to Lyoko. We've got a tower to deactivate," said Harry with a smile.
"Sounds like a plan," said Sissi. The squid continued to drill as Aelita reversed. Everyone hit it and it blew up.
"Next stop: Lyoko." Everyone connected back to the Skid.
Lyoko
They parked near to the tower.
"Ah! That's much better, I had virtual pins and needles in my legs!" exclaimed Odd as Harry ran into the tower, dodging the tarantulas. Aelita hit one as they ran towards it. Ulrich hit the remaining one in the snout as more approached. Yumi and Sissi had already devirtualised.

"I prefer fighting William. He doesn't try to devirtualise me."
Jeremy
Herb collapsed, letting go of Jeremy.
"Patrick!" He ran to where Patrick was lying. "Patrick! Hello?"
He picked up his phone. "Aelita, are you in the factory? Return to the past. Patrick's in bad shape."
He ended the call.
"Jeremy… you did it."
"Don't worry. You're going to be ok," reassured Jeremy.
"I'm glad we settled things." Patrick closed his eyes. "Between us."
"Patrick? Patrick!"
Lab
They ran into the lab and over to the computer. Harry quickly launched the return to the past. "Return to the past."
The familiar while light expanded.
Earlier
"Well, we can finally play foosball," said Odd.
"In a hurry to get crushed Odd?" asked Yumi with a smile.
"Odd's right. Let's all get to the rec room," said Jeremy, surprising everyone.
"You too? What about your program?" asked Aelita. "I mean, your report."
"It can wait, it's not every day that you can hang with your cousin," said Jeremy.
"You should give him a three point handicap," said Ulrich as they walked out the room.
"If Patrick plays on their team and we get stuck Jeremy, we'll be needing the handicap," said Odd.
"Your friends seem really nice Jeremy," said Patrick.
"They are, wait until you get to know them better." They walked out of the room.
"Think we can be friends? You and I have never really gotten along."
"Just kid's jealously. I'm over it. You've been here an hour and I feel like we're friends already."
"Sure," said Harry with a shrug. "You have this way."
"Belpois, I'm sorry but your parents have decided not to enrol you after all," said Delmas as he walked down the corridor. "The rather you'd attend a school closer to home."
"What a drag," complained Harry. "We were just getting to know each other."
"My sentiments exactly," said Patrick. "I guess we'll only get to hang out at family reunions. See you around then?"
He held his hand out.
"You still got time for a game of foosball?" asked Jeremy.
"Yeah!"
"Can you be on my team? I've been dying to whip Odd."
Harry laughed at that. "You sure about that Jeremy?"
