A/N: I do not own Percy Jackson.
Annabeth shifted against Percy, pulling her sweater tighter against her as the wind blew through the city of New York.
She was pressed back against her fiancé, leaning against his chest as they sat on top of a building, in the midst of night.
He'd insisted that they go out, and soon enough, that turned out to be sitting on top of a building, watching the city below them.
"Annabeth?" Percy's breath tickled the skin at the back of her neck, and she was sure now it wasn't the weather making her shiver.
She turned to look at him. "Yeah, Seaweed Brain?"
He looked right at her. "What are you thankful for?"
A sigh left Annabeth's lips. It wasn't due to the question, it was more of relief. To have Percy right next to her, completely unharmed.
Safe.
"I'm thankful for many things."
He pulled her close, and buried his face in her hair. "Like what?"
She felt him start to play with her curls, that she'd purposely left down.
"Well," she said. "I'm thankful for Thalia and Luke for saving my life, years ago. I'm thankful for Camp Half-Blood for being my home for years, and accepting me. I'm thankful for all of my friends and family that I've made there. I'm thankful for Piper and Hazel, for being there for me whenever I've needed it."
She could feel his smile against her as she continued talking. "Go on."
Annabeth laughed, "Alright. I'm thankful for Chiron for encouraging me, and being my fatherly figure. I'm thankful for Nico and Reyna for saving all our lives. And for making the steal the flag games more interesting. For everyone that fought in the wars, for Bianca, Zoe, Silena and all the others who I'll never forget. For Jason and Frank and Leo, for being like my brothers."
He nudged her, "And?"
She turned to him, a glint in her eye. "Hmm..I don't know. That's it, I believe."
A smirk danced on his lips. "Really?"
She laughed, again. It was weird how Percy could do that. "Nope. I forgot someone."
"Did you, now?"
"I'm thankful for a certain son of Poseidon, who made my life unforgettable. I'm thankful for him for being my best friend, and bickering with me for all these years. For staying with me, and never forgetting me, no matter what. Helping me and standing beside me, despite the circumstances. For making my days brighter, and giving me a reason to look forward to waking up. For listening to my problems, and-"
He interrupted her by kissing her, and a rush spread through Annabeth like wildfire. It was passionate, and she poured all of her emotion into it. Her hands tangled in his raven black hair, and she felt his hands on the side of her face, as he kissed her with everything he had.
When they finally pulled away, both panting, Percy smiled. "And?"
"And," Annabeth breathed, resting her forehead against his. "For never letting me go."
A/N: Yeah, I'm alive. I just haven't had any time to update anything and I wrote a fic before Halloween (tells you how much I suck at putting my stories up) and I'll be posting that too! I'm trying to update and expect an update from Broken (maybe TWSH? Not sure.) before or on Thanksgiving! Keep smiling, xxx.
