Author's Note: This chapter is for my friend Thuy :D

Bella POV

"Um, well, you see…" I started. "Imprinting is where wolves, like Seth, find, um, a person...who they will go to any lengths to protect. And, um, usually...the two end up getting married."

"WHAT?" roared Sahil. As he fumed, he seemed to grow...bigger? No, not bigger, just a few inches taller. But how was that possible? Seth whimpered away from him. Abruptly, Sahil's arms shot out around Seth's throat, even though Sahil hadn't moved an inch.

"That's his power," whispered Anika frantically. "He can stretch his arms and legs as much as he wants to. He hates to use it, but he does when he's mad. If we don't stop him, he'll kill Seth."

Now, Sahil held Seth, in wolf form, up in the air, so that Seth was left with his feet dangling and his claws scratching uselessly at Sahil's arms.

Alice, Esme, I and a few others tried to tug his arms out. He wouldn't let go, and now Seth was panting for breath. Seth was going to die if we didn't stop him.

Benjamin took a large boulder and smashed it against Sahil, using his power. It didn't hurt him, of course, but he was caught off-guard and let go. Seth coughed and ran into the forest, Leah following him. I hoped he would come back, once Sahil cooled down.

We were all silent for a while, until Sahil said, "I'm sorry. That was inappropriate for me to do. I was just worried about Anika's safety."

"Of course you were," said Esme. "Bella almost did the same when she found out that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee."

"Sahil," I said. "Seth's an amazing person. He wouldn't ever hurt Anika. In fact, Seth is the reason Jacob isn't dead right now."

I felt Jacob nudge his nose into my shoulder and smiled. I vaguely remembered how our friendship starter, though it was just a muddled human memory.

We continued practicing, but Seth and Leah didn't return. When it was early evening and we were about to leave, Alice gasped.

"What happened?" asked Stephenie.

"The entire future of the Volturi just disappeared," she said in a panicky voice. "My powers are going away!"

"No, they're not," said Stephenie. "Vampire's powers never go away. There must be a reasoning for this."

"Well, what is it?" said Alice, freaking out.

"Let's see…" said Stephenie. "You can see humans and vampires, but not wolves and hybrids. The only reasoning for that is that you've only been a human and a vampire. So...the only thing I can think of is that either the Volturi have some super-newborn who can block you out, or that they have acquired some other creature to aid them."

"What kind?" asked Alice.

"Well…" said Stephenie. "While writing the saga, I didn't really consider that. I know that there are vampires, hybrids, shape-shifters, and real werewolves. But real werewolves would rather die than work with vampires, so it can't be them. So I'm not sure."

"How about Edward and Carlisle make a quick stop at Italy, and Edward can read Aro's mind from outside the city border?" Esme said.

Alice nodded. "Yes, that's a good idea. I'll go call them," she said, and sprinted towards the house.

I was a bit sad that I would have to wait even longer to see Edward, but I was just as curious as Alice as to what was preventing her from seeing the Volturi.
