"Students of Cross Academy!" Kaien announced. "There will be a branch School of Cross Academy, built in an adjoining area of Cross Academy!" Yagari took over,
"It's called the "Night Class". Though it's been year since it's Dormitory was destroyed..." Whispers flew across the auditorium quickly.
"The Night Class is the one with all the smart people, right?" A girl asked.
"Yeah, I guess." Another girl answered. "...Somehow I only have a vague memory of them."
"REALLY!?" The female Class president from last year cried out in shock, a blush forming on her face. "Aidou-Kun's coming back!?"
"Shut up."
"I heard it from Yagari-san." Yori told her. "So I'm sure of it."
"Wah! What do I do!? I'm so happy!"
"But...It's a bit funny." Yori stated, looking at the people around her. "Only a few people, including us, remember the true identity of the Night Class.
X.X
"Once again, I thank all of you for coming here." Yuuki told the Vampires, blinking. "I think most of you are confused, since it's your first time in the dormitories and classrooms, so if you have any problems... Then count on me and Amaya as the Errand girls!" Yuuki shouted, holding up a fist determinedly. Amaya grinned, laughing slightly.
"Yeah! We'll help ya out!"
"THAT'S WRONG!" Hanabusa shouted, alarmed at Yuuki's choice of words. She sweatdropped and looked at him innocently.
"It's not wrong, is it? What are you saying?" Amaya covered her mouth to hold back her giggles as Hanabusa childishly scolded Yuuki.
"There's other things you can say! Like, "Take me as a role model" or "I'll lend an ear to your problems" you stupid Pureblood!" He gave Amaya an annoyed looking, hearing her laugh, and scratched his head repeatedly. "AHH! The prestige of the "Great Purebloods"~~~!" He screamed, ruffling his hair and making it into a mess. Amaya burst out into laughter, unable to hide it any longer.
"It's not wrong!" Yuuki argued. "We should all get along, right everyone?"
Silence... The only thing you could hear was Amaya's laughter and the chewing sounds of Aiko eating pocky.
"Or maybe not..." Yuuki sweatdropped.
"Get along, is it?" A man with orange hair asked, a hand to his chin in thought. "It's an honor, but..."
"We came because we heard that a Pureblood was having trouble." A girl, who also had orange hair-most likely his sister, said.
A girl with really short black hair and blue eyes stated, "My brother and I have different views. I came because I though it was wrong for the current situation to continue. I thought all Pureblood were fine with letting dangerous Vampires roam around attacking humans, so I'm glad I came." Amaya finally stopped laughing, Hanabusa's complaining ending.
Yuuki smiled at the Vampires. "I want to talk to each of you, one by one, next time. Thank you for coming." She told them and closed her eyes as she continued, "And I hope a day will come where we won't have to make such promises, but...I'm sure you all came here, acknowledging the treaty. But I'll confirm it again, just in case any of you forgot, please don't touch any of the humans in this school. If a time comes where one of you breaks this rule, then Amaya and I will be the ones to deal with it." Amaya tensed and glanced at the door and stated,
"Before the Hunter outside the door decides to blow your brains out." Hanabusa acted quickly, walking over and opening the door. He walked out and revealed that Zero was leaning against the wall, arms crossed. Yuuki and Amaya walked out, Amaya being the one to ask, "What's up?"
Silence.
Yuuki spoke up, "I know you want to tell us, "There's no point in this game of School." She stated.
"Vampires are just beasts in human form, after all. Isn't that right, Zero?" Amaya questioned, looking at him from the corner of her eyes. "We Vampire can't be trusted."
"Our views don't match, just like before, huh, Zero?" Yuuki asked him rhetorically. There was a silence and they all looked to see who the new arrival was. Amaya exclaimed,
"Maria!"
"You made it!" Yuuki cried out. Maria smile at them and placed her suit cases down.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I hesitated whether to come or not, but I wanted to make some friends..." She explained. She then glanced at Zero, who started to walk away. "Is Ichiru's brother working here as a prefect again?"
"No, it's not that simple." Amaya told her, bitterness forming in her mouth. "He's here as a Hunter who can take us down at any time. Lovely, huh?" Zero's words echoed in her head, the words he told her a year ago, the words she never forgot.
"Amaya, I... I only desired your blood, Amaya. I want it so much that it's unbearable. To the point that unless I drank from you until your life was in danger, I wouldn't be satisfied. Such a disgusting gluttonous greed."
Amaya's chest tightened at the thought and bit her lip.
X.X NEXT MORNING
"Morning, Yuuki!" Amaya greeted, her white uniform bringing out her features and dark skin. All the other Vampires started to greet the Kuran girl as she entered the room, also wearing the uniform. She looked like a female Kaname and the thought angered Amaya slightly, but she pushed her anger aside. She wasn't going to go on an all-out hating spree. She is not going to do what Zero did to Shizuka, to Kaname. If anything, she's going to keep trying to get over her grief for both Yuuki's and Hanabusa's sake.
"Good morning, Yuuki-Sama." A young vampire with brown hair greeted.
"Good morning," The girl from before with the black hair said, nodding her head at the girl.
"Morning." Rima told Yuuki. Aiko grinned, being an exception to the Night Class, considering she was friends with both Shiki and Rima, and Yuuki, Amaya, and Hanabusa. "How's it goin'?"
"Mornin'." Senri greeted boredly. Yuuki crossed her arms in front of her and honestly, Yuuki never thought in her whole human life that she would ever be wearing the Night Class uniform. She favored the black one, to be honest.
"Good Morning." She greeted, voice soft, but clear. "Please look after me today onward." Her voice had the command of a leader, but it wasn't overly demanding or cold. It was gentle and inviting.
They soon all had to go to class, Hanabusa staring intently at the two girls, Yuuki and Amaya.
He remembered their conversation the other day. Yuuki was looking out a window, with Amaya by her side like usual.
"I have to gather more comrades." Yuuki had told him. "And do as much as I can to bring down the number of endangered children like the one I met the other day." Amaya had glanced up at her and sighed, before looking at Hanabusa and telling him,
"She plans on heading after Kaname-Sempai once it's done." Hanabusa noticed the pained look in her eyes at Kaname's name and he had to admit, it hurt him too, but they were both trying their best to not hate the man with their entire being. If they did, it would destroy them inside and out.
"Kuran Yuuki, Aidou Amaya-" The Vampire teacher called out and Amaya let out an annoyed grunt, exclaiming as she stood,
"I'm not married to him yet! It's "Chouko"! Chou-Ko! Say it with me now, Chou-Ko. Chouko!" She moved her arms back and forth like Koda did in "Brother Bear". A small smile crept up onto his face.
"Kuran Yuuki, Chouko Amaya," The teacher was clearly annoyed with her antics, the rest of the class snickering at the red-head. ", and Aidou Hanabusa, please come with me. We have something we need to discuss." The two girls' stood up, Amaya being the slower one, and Hanabusa did the same, following the teacher towards the door and standing out in the hallway. The teacher stared down at them, his gray eyes staring into their soul-so it felt like. "It very hard to mention this but, neither of you two girls' are meeting the level needed for my classes just yet." Hanabusa groaned and face-palmed, exclaiming in an annoyed voice,
"I'm going to have to tutor you both all over again!" Amaya blinked and Yuuki stood up straighter, alarmed. Amaya quickly banged her fist on the window, again, breaking it and cutting her palm. She ignored all the shocked glances she gained and quickly dusted off the glasses before lifting herself up and leaning out the window, half of her body sticking outside.
"Hey, Zero, Kaito, what happened this time!?" She knew she was being informal with the honorifics, but this is an American who is speaking, less we forget. And a rather hard-headed one at it. "More trouble!?" Yuuki ran over and did the same as Amaya, but a little bit more gracefully.
"What happened!? Was there trouble again!?" Kaito glanced up at them, Zero barely turning his head.
"It's nothing." Kaito replied, eyebrow twitching slightly at the lack of honorifics. He snapped, "And don't speak as if you know me!"
"You tried to torture information out me and Hanabusa while I was injured! Damn straight I'm gonna talk as if I know ya!" Amaya fired back and huffed, crossing her arms on the window sill so she could be more comfortable. "And besides, we already heard it!" Yuuki got off the windowsill, saying,
"Excuse us, could I have a moment!?" She questioned the Night Class students loudly, but polite. The students stopped snickering and whispering, looking at the Kuran girl. Amaya let out a huff as she jumped down, relief filling through her at the feel of ground beneath her feet. Sure, she was only a few feet off the ground, but it still freaked her out slightly. "In town, there seems to be a group of our kind stirring up trouble. Will those of you who want to stop it, go with Amaya and myself?"
"...Is that an order?" A boy with spiky teal hair questioned after a moment. Yuuki blinked, but wasn't surprised at the question.
"No."
"Last time I checked, Yuuki doesn't give orders. I mean, she gives punches and horribly bakes chocolate, but y'know." Amaya shrugged, remembering the Valentines day from last year at the Academy, when she tried to bake a bunch of chocolate and most of them turned out bad. Some of the students snickered and giggled at that, while others gave her looks.
"..." The teal haired vampire raised a hand slightly, stating, "Then I'm going." A girl with hair similar to Rima's stated,
"Me too." A pale blonde was next, exclaiming,
"Count me in!" Maria raised a pale hand,
"Me too." Aiko laughed like a maniac, her crazy personality kicking in.
"Absolutely, Yuuki! Why would I skip the chance to kick some Vampire ass?"
"I've known this all along, but," Rima began, looking at the brunette Kuran. ",you really don't have any charisma, do you?"
Yuuki laughed nervously and smiled embarrassed at the orange-haired girl. "Y-Yeah...Not really."
X.X
Basically, a Vampire was selling humans at auctions, typically young woman, for their blood.
Amaya was wearing her typical, "Vampires Rock" jacket and her black and red striped shirt, along with a black skirt and red and black leggings, accompanied by black leather boots. Yuuki was more formal, wearing a black, mid-thigh sleeveless dress with a blue trenchcoat.
Amaya and Yuuki hopped off the roof, Amaya exclaiming in a dramatic voice,
"Sorry, but I'm afraid that you just went out of business!" Oh, the hero that she was. Yuuki narrowed her eyes at the man as she stood up straight, glaring.
"We will not let you escape."
"Who the hell are you!?" The vampire, a man with dirty blonde hair tied in a rat-tail, demanded. He looked about thirty, but ages with Vampires can be deceiving. He held up a jar and made to throw it at them, but Yuuki whipped out Artemis and charged, the scythe being held to his throat. Amaya used her Aristocrat powers and made flames dance around the man's head, making sure he could not escape.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, mister." Amaya told him, glaring and narrowing her green eyes. Yuuki told the man in a dark voice, face scary,
"I said I would not let you escape." The girls' paused however when their was knives being pointed at their necks.
"Release my boyfriend." The curly dark haired girl demanded, purple eyes furious.
"You must be human..." Yuuki observed, eyes moving to look at the girl. "But aren't you one of the victims?" The Vampire man looked at the woman in alarm, exclaiming,
"Didn't I tell you to escape first!? If you get caught saying these words-" The curly haired girl cut him off.
"If you get caught, wouldn't it be worse!?" She demanded, tears pricking her eyes. "And also, didn't you say that you need me-!"
BANG
A gun shot rang out and Amaya's head turned quickly, catching sight of the silver haired, lilac eyes "Prefect".
"Zero!" She exclaimed in alarm and quickly whirled her head back to the Vampire, who was now dust. The human girl cried out in horror, watching her boyfriend turn to dust. Yuuki lowered her weapons as Amaya's flames disappeared.
"It would've been better if I tied him up..." Yuuki grumbled annoyed. "Then he wouldn't have shot him without hesitation." The two girls' and boy watched as the human girl fell to her knees, pawing at the remains of her boyfriend, sobbing. Amaya and Yuuki looked back at Zero, who stared at them. Amaya stared at him, taking in his appearance. A slight tugging at her heart made her frown.
'Even his skin tone hasn't changed...And the look in his eyes...' Zero commented towards them, Amaya thinking how much she missed his voice,
"You're both still the same, bearing those Naive thoughts about Vampires." He told them in his deep voice. Maria walked up, wearing a light purple dress and blue jean jacket.
"Ah, sorry, but no one is escaping towards my direction. I take it you three are talking about something important?" Zero turned his head to look at Maria and said,
"It's nothing." Zero told her and walked passed Amaya, telling her, "If you are unhappy about the way I treat Vampires," He reached out and gripped the dark-skinned girl's wrist, causing her to gasp in surprise and alarm. ",are you still wearing that bracelet around your wrist?" He brought her wrist up to his neck, leaning in close to her face, causing her heart to pound and a light blush to spread across her cheeks. "Then use it to force me to submit to you." He lifted up his index finger off her wrist and pointed to his tattoo on his neck. "The magic to subdue should still be there now."
Amaya turned her head, grinding her teeth together and stating, "It wouldn't work on something other than Level E, Zero. You should know that!" She yanked her wrist away and held it close to her, her other hand on her arm. Zero cast the girl a sad glance, before turning and walking away. Maria looked at Yuuki and said,
"Long time no see... After we met, you found out that your brother has changed to someone a little different. Yuuki is unexpectedly, that Lord's younger sister."
X.X
Amaya slunk onto her bed, curling into a ball and pressing a green pillow into her face. The black silk fabric scrunched up from beneath her due to the movement and wrinkled slightly. Her lip trembled and she squeezed her eyes shut, the moment of Nagamichi's death and Hanabusa's horror filled face repeating in her mind endlessly.
"Why...Why did he do it?" She asked herself quietly, eyes watering as she opened them slowly. Her emerald green eyes were glazed over in thought, her tan skin paler than usual. "What was his plan...?" She swallowed back a chocked sob and quickly blinked the tears that were forming away; she would not grieve at a time like this, Yuuki needed her. Amaya sighed and her shoulders slumped, her side collapsing against the bed completely. She let out a bitter laugh as she turned on her back, spreading her arms and legs out, her legs dangling off the bed as she slid off of it. The second she reached the blue carpet, she burst into maniacal laughter, a crazy grin on her lips. She glanced down at the ground, asking no one, "Jasmine...when did things become so hectic?"
In times like these, she wished her blonde friend was still alive. But the fact that the dead can never come back to live, will never change.
Amaya felt her mouth dry greatly and her throat become parched. She attempted to swallow, but to no avail. It only made the pain worse.
And the fact that she was a Vampire, would never change either.
Amaya stood up and walked over to the desk where her blood tablets lay. She had quite a bit left, she noted, and eyed them disgustedly before sighing and opening it, plopping a few into her mouth and chewing them. She made a face at the taste and swallowed, making another disgusted face.
"Blegh-nasty!" She commented, wiping her mouth with her sleeve in the sad attempt to get rid of the taste. She then paused, tensing at the scent that filled the rather dark room. She made no movement to turn, merely asking, "What's up, Zero?" She kept her tone lighthearted, but there was the small tone of "Leave me alone" in that sentence that hung at the end.
"Ichijou-Sempai looks like he wants to say something to you." Amaya nodded slowly and popped at least five more blood tablets into her mouth, coughing slightly when she tried to swallow them. They didn't want to go down. She placed on hand over her mouth and the other against the desk to help her stand as she coughed, the tablets stuck in her throat. She chewed them, so she wasn't understanding what was going on. "Aidou?"
More coughing and Amaya felt something warm and sticky splatter against her hand. She froze and Zero tensed. No...Wasn't it only supposed to be Level E's? Amaya pulled her hand away from her mouth slightly and glanced down at it, and on her hand you could make out the small remnants of the Blood Tablets she chewed. Amaya swallowed and attempted to hide the view from Zero-who, unknown to her, saw it. He frowned deeply as Amaya commented in a joking tone,
"I really am an idiot, huh, Zero?" She flicked herself on the forehead slightly, laughing halfheartedly, "I did it again! I always seem to leave the door open! Heheh...I'm so stupid." Zero made to comment as he quietly stalked out of the room, the smell of blood filling his nostrils.
He left, passing Maria along the way. The lilac haired girl paused in the doorway and stated, "I'm sorry. It appears that you and Zero are unable to talk like you used too." Amaya felt a small, bitter smirk move its way onto her face.
"Unable to talk"? He told me to shoot him and then he said he couldn't get enough of my blood. Zero's as antisocial as they come, Maria-Chan." Maria smiled a small sad smile, eyes glinting with knowledge,
"You're using honorifics, Amaya. That means you're worried about something." She walked up to Amaya, who still hadn't turned and whispered in her ear, "Unless you're not worried and don't want Zero anymore..." She placed her index finger on her lips as continued, eyes fluttering closed halfway, "Then...I shall snatch him away."
Amaya finally turned her head and she locked eyes with the lilac eyed girl. She then noticed for the first time, that Maria's eyes weren't lilac like her hair...they were a startling Egyptian blue. Amaya's Emerald green eyes were narrowed and a frown adorned her face. Maria merely let out a small giggle and smiled at the ginger.
What happened then, what passed between them, no one but them would ever understand. But Amaya did know one thing...
She wasn't just quite ready to give Zero up yet. Maria giggled again and crossed her arms behind her back as she turned and walked gracefully out of the room. Amaya watched her leave and once she was out of sight, headed to the bathroom to wash the blood off of her hand. Once she was finished she wiped her hand on her shirt, drying it carelessly, and headed back into the room and paused when she saw two figures outside her window. She walked over and looked out it, a deep frown adorning her pretty features. She shook her head and opened it-or attempting to at least. She growled before punching the window, once again breaking it and slicing her hand, and jumped out it, going to find Aiko.
"I shall snatch him away." Maria's words echoed in her mind as she walked. She didn't understand why, exactly, but those words slightly bothered her. Not much, it stirred something in her uncomfortably.
"Why am I so bothered by all of this...?"" She asked her self, pausing in her walking. She furrowed her brows and sighed, "I don't love him anymore. I stopped not long after I moved in with Yuuki and Kaname, so why...?" She bit her lip, frowning.
"Amaya?" She jumped at the voice and her hands lit on fire in defense as she whirled around, facing the new comer. Her green eyes met with lilac and she broke out into a smile, the fire vanishing. "It's been quite a while since we've been together like this. A whole year and a half." The girl's voice was monotone, but it didn't bug Amaya in the slightest.
"AIKO!" Amaya cried as she tackled the brunette, nuzzling her face into the crook of her neck in happiness. "I missed you so much!"
The brunette laughed and wrapped her arms around her friend, exclaiming, "I missed you too, jeez!" Amaya pulled away, grinning and showing off her fangs,
"How've you been!?"
"Good. Became a model recently." Amaya's eyes widened at the blunt response.
"What!? Seriously!?"
"Yeah. Senri was caught messing with my hair and somehow, one way or another, I became a model. I apparently have the figure for it too." Aiko cracked a grin as Amaya laughed. "I've been sticking with and following Senri and Rima forever, it's a pain." She laughed and at that moment, the wind blew.
Amaya's eyes zoomed in on her neck and she quickly turned her head, looking away. Aiko frowned confused,
"Amaya?"
"You're not afraid of me?" Amaya questioned, confusion and guilt forming inside her. Aiko blinked, surprised at the question,
"What? What are you talking about me?" Next thing the brunette knew, she was pushed against a tree, her wrists pinned against it by Amaya's hands. "Amaya!?"
"I am a Vampire, Aiko." She told her in a soft voice. "Even I think you look delicious-an easy victim. You smell incredibly sweet. I might not be able to control myself..." Her lips hovered over Aiko's neck as she whispered, "...if I get hungry."
There was a small silence and laughter quickly rang out. Amaya recoiled back in surprise and stared at her human friend in shock.
"Aiko?" The brunette was grinning widely as she laughed and gave her friend a look, saying,
"You wouldn't do it even if you wanted too, Amaya. I know you better than that. And besides, you're my best friend, I could never be afraid of you." Amaya smiled at that and stated softly,
"Thank you..." Aiko laughed lightly and replied with,
"Your welcome, crazy woman!" They laughed and Amaya hated herself for the fact that she wanted it drink from her.
X.X
"Zero doesn't hate all Vampires, isn't that right?" Zero paused in his leading Maria to the Night Dorms. The girl had gotten lost and even after Zero threatened to shoot her, he was leading her back. "I believe you would have already killed Amaya and Yuuki, because they betrayed you. Even if they didn't do it on purpose, they give off humanistic vibes. Even if they aren't human..."
"Betray what?" Zero questioned, causing the girl to look up at him in surprise, "Not once did I think of it that way." Maria felt a small smile make its way onto her face,
"Is that so-" She broke out into coughs, her grip loosening slightly on her umbrella as she tumbled down to the ground. Zero quickly turned and caught her before she collapsed against the dirty ground. "I-I'm sorry...I'm useless during the day." She apologized, coughing again slightly. She glanced at him with tired eyes. "It's only because of Hio-Sama's blood that I have more energy at night..." SHe let out a small cough as Zero lifted her up bridal style. Her head leaned against his shoulder.
"Of course you're weak during the day," Zero told her. ",especially with your Vampire senses." He started to walk again and Maria slowly opened her eyes, glancing up at Zero with a longing look in her eyes.
"It was the same...with Ichiru." A sad smile crossed her face, "He told me the same thing when we first met when he carried me back to rest. I...have been searching for Ichiru..." She placed a hand against Zero's chest, where his heart was. "I've finally found him. He's here, isn't he? Inside Zero's body? Together with Shizuka...Ichiru is in there." She glanced up at Zero, who a saddened look on his face at remembrance of his twin. "I understand."
X.X
Amaya glanced out the window and quickly ducked down, pressing herself against the floor when she saw who it was. She face-palmed at her idiocy.
"Why on earth did I hide? Seriously, I'm so stupid...It's just Maria and Zero. Jesus..." The girl sighed and sat up, banging her head against the wall. "Zero would've caught my scent anyway...I'm so stupid."
'Of all the things that I want...I can't even have-it's impossible to seize them with my fangs.' The ginger thought, clutching her dry throat. Since the incident earlier, she's been refusing the bloodtablets, not taking any of them. She didn't understand what was going on, nor did she like it. She mushroom sighed in depression,
"Hanabusa's going to kill me when he finds out I want not only his blood..." She let out an agonized wail and banged her head against the wall, annoyed with her bloodlust. She tucked her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them muttering, "There's parts of my heart that can't remain detached...The parts that Zero hold included." She sighed again. How was it she ended up in this love triangle that was originally supposed to be Yuuki's again? Another sigh, "Okay, Amaya, stop being so damn depressed. You can't help Yuuki if you keep on acting like this...' The girl stood up and decided to wander down the hallways for a while, only to bump into the man who was currently occupying her thoughts. "Zero!?" She exclaimed in surprise before swallowing. "Um...Right, I'm not sure if Yuuki has already or not, but, I want to apologize for our causing trouble the last few days. We let it get out of hand, but we promise that it won't happen again." Zero passed her, but paused at her last words, saying,
"In that case, try not to make promises you can't keep, Aidou." Amaya's head snapped over to him and growled, snapping,
"I'm not married yet, damn it! I'm still "Chouko"! Why do people always get that wrong, damn it!" Her face was growing red from fury. She wasn't married yet! Nor did she lose her innocence! Sure, she's engaged, but that doesn't mean she changed her last name!
"Don't let the Day Class become victims." Zero continued, smirking internally at her rant. "If you and Kuran can not win over the Night Class, end it now." Give her that message." Amaya forced herself to calm and stared at Zero intently, stating,
"If we end it now, things would become more relaxed-true that is. But if we give up now, there's no telling what would happen next. And...Z-Zero..." She stuttered slightly, unsure how to phrase the next few sentences. "I...I want...I want things to go back to how they were!" She blurted, face turning red from embarrassment.
Zero glanced at her, fighting down a smile, and stated bluntly, "You're acting strange." An arrow pierced Amaya's back and she let out a grunt as she lurched forward slightly. "You haven't drank blood in a while, right?" She straightened and yanked the arrow out of her back, burning it. She blinked at the question. "Come here." She gasped as a hand wrapped itself around her wrist and dragged her out of the building, into the forest.
BLOOPERS
Aiko laughed like a maniac, her crazy personality kicking in. "Absolutely, Yuuki! Why would I skip the chance to kiss some Vampire ass?" She paused in her laughter, every giving her amused and slightly disgusted looks. She blinked and glanced up at Senri, seeing his deeply annoyed expression. "I said the wrong line...didn't I?" Amaya blinked at her friend and nodded slowly.
"Yeah...you did."
"I think you horrified Senri with that statement." Yuuki deadpanned, pointing her index finger at the disturbed and annoyed mahogany haired boy.
"I didn't mean too, I meant to say kick, it-it just came out!" Aiko started to panic. "I screwed up big time, stop filming already, damn it!" She pointed threateningly at the cameraman, who screamed and quickly turned off the camera.
