Stephenie POV
I watched as Renesmee used her power to make random objects pop into the room. Though I would never say it to her, I was hoping she would get the hang of it as soon as possible. The homesickness had only grown after the battle.
According to Edward, Aro and Caius had escaped. They had managed to find Marcus and the wives and had killed them, but Aro and Caius were still out there.
Knowing them, I predicted they would come back for the Cullens in a few centuries or so, after they had regained their army. Alice hadn't been able to see where they were, and she thought that they weren't planning where to go.
Almost all the visiting vampires had left, the exception the Denalis, who were just on their way out right now.
All of a sudden, Nessie gasped. "I can return people!" she exclaimed.
Carlisle, who had been observing her from the doorway, gasped too. "Don't do it," he said.
Too late.
"Oh!" said Nessie as a person came into the room. Too fast for me to see, whoever it was disappeared. I wondered who it was.
"I sent him back!" exclaimed Renesmee. "Did you see that?"
"That's great!" said Carlisle.
I felt a smile spread across my face. I was going home! Back to my own life!
All the Cullens gathered into the room, hearing Nessie's exclamation.
I felt tears of happiness in my eyes. I blinked them back and turned to hug Esme.
I said goodbye to all the Cullens. I was going to miss them, but I missed my normal life more. Living in a fantasy world was nice, but could also be dangerous.
After I was done, Renesmee said, "Bye, Stephenie," and wrinkled her nose as she concentrated. The room drowned out in a bright light that hurt my eyes. I quickly closed them before I was blinded.
I vaguely wondered if any time had passed in my world. I hoped not. It would be kind of hard to explain why I had been missing for almost two months now.
Suddenly, I landed on something soft. My bed. I had been getting into bed the day I had gone, so I hoped that it was a sign that time hadn't moved. I glanced at the clock near my bed and smiled. The date in the corner was the same, and hardly five minutes had passed.
I sighed and sat up, drinking in all the familiar objects. All of a sudden, inspiration struck. I got out of bed and searched the room for an empty box I had shoved under there a few weeks ago. I hoped Nessie's power was similar to Edward's, because I needed her to know I wanted her to transport this, just like Edward would know if someone specifically wanted him to read a certain thought.
I finished packing the box and stuck the note I had scribbled in there, then sealed it with tape. Then, I leaned back and hoped she would get it.
