Well lads, I hope the previous chapter wasn't too confusing for you, as I said before, I will again explain it all, with more detail, just to be completely sure you all understood this.
Other than that, school has been going great for me, been getting A's, but I've been out of inspiration to write recently and I really hope that is going to change. It's affecting the updates of the story. They aren't frequent. I try to keep it at, at least, once a week, but it's not easy.
You can also try voicing the dialogues. Makes things far more interesting.
By the way, this chapter is inspired by an event that actually happened in real life.
'No.' I wrote.
"C'mon Mel, it's going to be fun! You just put the bug inside your-"
I shook my head lightly and tapped the paper in front of me. She read it again.
"It's just going to watch a movie!" Nicole pushed.
I took the pen and wrote on the paper, again. 'I can't talk. Won't meet with him. No movie.'
"He's not going to do anything. Ironhide will be there with you."
I shook my head again, 'If he is, D will be frightened. No point in going."
Nicole thought for a while. "Then I can have one of the twins, Jazz or Bee to come with you."
I looked at her like she was an idiot. Couldn't she understand basic English? I pointed with my finger at the paper. She read what I was pointing at.
"No." she voiced. "Come on, Mel. You only live once!"
I'm sure she meant it in a good way, but it wasn't the right moment to say it. I only shrugged, trying to hide my worries. "What's goin' on?" Jazz said, who was present in the room and surprised by the sudden silence, while the twins and Bee were outside making rev battles and Hide was monitoring all of us. Will, Sarah and Annabelle were upstairs, though I have no idea what they were doing.
"Nothing, just telling Mel some things." Nicole expertly lied.
"It don't look that way." Jazz said and sat next to me, putting my legs over his lap. "Is she botherin' yo'? I can make her go away." He smirked.
I chuckled silently and shook my head. I liked her being around. Much better than being lonely and alone. "See, Jazz? She loves me. So I won't leave her." She smiled.
"A'ight, yo' got me. I'll be around if yo' need me." He got up, gently putting my legs back to the position where they were and turned off the holoform, dissipating into millions of pieces. It's still fascinating and scary to me at the same time.
With Jazz out of the room, Nicole pushed again. "So, here's what I think." She sat next to me. "You go and meet with Dalton."
I shook my head.
"Yeah, I know you can't talk." She didn't want to be sad over it, it would only add fuel to fire, so she tried dismissing that fact. "So we, as in the 'Bots and you and me, should but a bug on you."
I shook my head, again.
"Not a real bug, but that little device." She motioned with her fingers, her thumb and index finger almost touching, indicating the size of the bug. "And that way I can hear what Dalton says and I can reply."
I shook my head, for the third time.
I took the pencil and paper and wrote, once more. 'You don't know how I would reply.'
She read it. "I can try."
'You will make shit go downhill. I don't want trouble with that guy anymore. I'm done.'
"But-"
Doesn't she know when to stop?
I threw the pencil and paper at her and she moved back.
"Sorry." She apologized. "We're not meeting with him, I guess."
Damn straight we're not.
"So what do you want to do? I was really hoping to spend the day spying on you and Dalton."
I wanted to tell her to shut up, but then again I had nothing to tell her with. The voice was dead. Fuck my life.
I found the TV remote and turned the TV on. I felt like I was getting dumber and dumber, every day by watching television.
"I have an idea what we could do today." Nicole suddenly said. I looked at her, expecting her to go on. "We could wash the cars. After all, it's a nice day outside."
I looked through the window. It was a nice day, indeed. The sun was shining and there were very few clouds in the sky.
I nodded and got up slowly. Nicole and I walked together outside coming up to Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Bumblebee, who noticed us quickly and stopped the revving battle.
"I won." Sunstreaker huffed.
"No, you didn't." Bumblebee used his voice and played Sunstreaker's game. I smiled.
"We have a surprise for you guys." Nicole said as all the cars went backwards and turned towards her. It was a little scary, but cool.
"What kind of surprise?" Sideswipe's deep voice sounded intrigued and hinted at dirty things.
"Oh well, just something every car needs every once in a while… I know Bee loves it… I know you guys love it. Besides, Mel and I have nothing to do, so it's a win-win situation." She played his game, her tone mimicking Sideswipe's suggestive one.
"You still didn't tell us what." Sunstreaker voiced.
"I think it's pretty obvious." Sideswipe hinted once more.
"A car wash, you dumbass." Nicole said, completely used to the way he was talking to her. Sunstreaker didn't want this kind of treatment, being called a dumbass, so he revved his engine to the rev limiter, resulting in flames going out of his exhausts. "Sorry." She apologized. She still knew better than to get on his bad side.
"Oh, a wash." Sideswipe dumbly answered.
"Since you are offering, we're accepting the offer." Sunny replied. "Sideswipe was doing wheelspins and managed to get dirt all over my paint." He slowly turned around 360 degrees in a circle and showed us his dirty side.
"That's ugly." Nicole said, as the grass and gunk slid from his side door as he stopped moving.
"Tell me about it." He snorted.
"Mel, you wait here, I'll get everything we need." Nicole jogged into the house quickly, most probably to get some sponges.
I looked in the direction of the town, hearing loud noises. I saw smoke leaving smokestacks from a black truck.
My black truck.
I smiled as he drove on the gravel, staying in his alternate form as he parked right in between Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. "For what reason are you filthy, Sunstreaker?"
"Sideswipe." he simply answered.
Ironhide stood silent as Nicole quickly came back. For some reason it took her no more than twenty seconds to get the sponges, soaps and hose.
"What are you doing?" Ironhide asked.
"Giving you guys a wash. I can do Bumblebee and Sideswipe." Nicole answered for me.
"Kinky." Sideswipe voiced deeply and suggestively, once more. I turned around to Ironhide as very suddenly, I heard a crash. I looked at Sides, the victim, as he earned a large dent and broken taillight to his alt. Bumblebee's front bumper was damaged as well, as Bee himself caused the damage on purpose. "The frag are you doing, Bumblebee?!" He turned to Bee.
"It's my femme you're suggesting here. Stop that." he got serious, as their alts were standing nose to nose.
Sideswipe's headlights blinked in a silent form of understanding and apology as he backed away slowly.
"It's okay Bee, you don't need to be so protective. It's Sideswipe. He's always in for jokes." She gently said as she neared his damaged bumper. She gracefully slid her hand over the damaged area. "Ratchet's going to have to buff this out."
"It was worth it." Bee's voice echoed through the cabin of the Camaro.
"You shouldn't get worked up so easily. It affects you and me both." She tried hugging the long hood of the Camaro. "I'll love you forever, you know that."
He moved closer, embracing her small touch. "It's all I ever need."
"Disgusting." Sunstreaker huffed, ruining their moment.
"Looks like you're skipping the washing, Sunny. I hope that muck rusts your paint." Nicole annoyed him as she moved away from Bee, walking towards me and passing me a sponge that was surprisingly filled with warm water.
"You little-" The irritated voice started, but was quickly cut off by the loudest possible roar of a big block V8 engine, as a last sign of warning of what was to come. If Sunstreaker dared hurt Nicole, Bumblebee would have killed him then and there. No doubt about it.
Nicole and I stood back as the two alt modes seemed to glare at each other.
A moment later, a V12 engine roared back at the Camaro, not backing down.
The V8 roared once more, willing to protect his loved at any cost, as the rear tires started spinning, burning out and making smoke.
As the V12 revved again, a small flame came from the exhausts. At this point, I understood that they were not fighting over Nicole. They were being territorial. And it would get serious if somebody didn't stop them now.
"Bee, stop it. He's clearly louder." Nicole said.
"I ain't gonna stop until I'm done…"
"It's not even about me, Bee, it's about proving yourself now, isn't it." She crossed her arms and looked at the center of Bee's hood, as if looking into his eyes.
I wanted to say something, to back her up, but she could do this on her own. And besides, I couldn't gawk a word if I wanted to.
"Sunstreaker is just tempting you. I told you to not get so worked up, just minutes ago. Come on, Bee." She went to his door, knocking slightly on the window. "Turn on your holoform. I can't kiss you if you're dirty." She smiled slightly.
The holoform almost immediately showed up, standing in front of Nicole. She put her arms around Bee's neck, pulling him closer to her. Her hands caressed his back as the holoform leaned on the door of the Camaro. They stood there for a couple of moments, discussing something quietly.
"You can do that for me, okay?" I heard her say, but I didn't get what was he supposed to do. I also didn't bother, it was something between the two of them that was not supposed to be shared.
"I'll try."
"I'm serious here, Bumblebee. If it gets physical, I'll do something." she hinted at her gift. Her ability to form energy.
"Don't get yourself involved. This is just between me and him."
"It'll get between us if you don't start controlling yourself." She chided him. "Something is happening to you, Bee. I don't know what."
She was right, something was happening to him. To all of us.
As we all listened intently to their 'private' conversation. Suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind.
I would have squealed, had I had my voice working, but since it didn't respond to my brain's commands, I was silent and looked like a fish opening and closing its mouth, as if trying to say something.
That someone turned me around. I knew who that someone was. There was only one person who it could be. Gentle and caring on the inside, but rough and tough on the outside.
"How are you feeling? Ratchet will be coming over somewhere in the evening today. He has to go check up on Sam today."
Sam.
I haven't heard from him in a while. Nor from Mikaela or his current girlfriend, Carly.
I wonder if they're still together.
As I was facing him, I wrapped my arms around his waist as I kissed his neck. "I presume you're feeling well."
More than well.
I nodded as we snuggled together. "So… is that wash still on?" he mumbled.
I nodded again, remembering that I was carrying a wet sponge in my hand. I wanted to apologize for wetting his holoform's clothes, but no words were needed. He seemed to understand everything just from the look on my face.
"Don't worry, my holoform remains untouched. Though my alt is a little wet." He moved aside, only to show me water from the sponge dripping over the door of the truck. "You don't have to wash me. You should definitely go and lie down."
I've been lying down for the past year of my life.
I shook my head.
"Alright, have it your way." At this point, knowing that I couldn't talk back, he gave in. I smiled and slowly walked over to give him a hug. "I still think you should lie down."
I huffed, but said nothing, still enveloped in his arms.
"Mel, we doing this or what?" Nicole excitedly said as she moved away from Bee.
I nodded as I drew the sponge over the windows, the doors, the hood, the other windows… just washing. I didn't feel any excitement in this.
What seemed like half an hour had passed, I was exhausted. Sure, the door panels were pristine, the rims were squeaky clean and the hood was cleaned to perfection.
I opened the door of the passenger side, the one that was closer to me and sat into the seat. I sighed as I leaned on the backrest and closed my eyes. I could feel Ron's presence around me as I felt his hands touch mine. "I'll take you to the couch. You've had enough work for one day." he wanted to put his hands under my knees and back and pick me up.
I hesitated. "What's wrong?" Ironhide asked.
I told him to give me one minute, 'telling' him that with my index finger. I didn't want to feel like a handicap. I didn't want to be useless. I wanted to prove them that I could still move on my own.
Making a strong decision, I jumped up from the truck, like I never did before. The sudden strength returned to me.
I walked around normally, as if I was never sick before, but just for a couple of seconds. The feeling was amazing!
Suddenly, everything started to worsen.
I felt slight spinning in my head. In a matter of only seconds, it became completely unbearable as colorful dots appeared in my eyesight. My ears rang heavily and my knees were shaking. I wasn't standing straight, the head spinning was uncontrollable. I started going sideways, until I no longer felt control of my legs. My eyes shut down on their own and my ears went out completely.
I fell on the ground harshly. My left side burned with pain.
Everything went black.
You may have noticed it guys, as the chapters go on, the Autobots are 'losing' their fun side, their innocence, their youth. They become older and wiser, even the youngest of them. And they change.
And if you guys didn't know, the Camaro that is Bumblebee's alt mode has a V8 engine in it, while Sunny's alt mode, the Lambo Aventador has a V12, a far superior one. I'm not here to explain cylinders and horsepower to you, but for those who are not interested or who simply don't know as much in the world of cars, they should at least know this, so that it's easier to read later in the story. So V12 is superior to V8 (which means Sunny beat Bee)
And yes, Mel is getting worse by the minute.
Do you think this will be the end?
