Chapter 9
Liz smiled at that and nodded "So which way are the markets?"
Red chuckled and nodded to Dembe upfront to turn in the direction that the markets are located at. "Oh Lizzie you just have to try on some of the summer dresses that they have here...they would just look lovely on you."
Liz blushed remembering long ago when Red offered her to go on a trip with him and said that she would just look lovely in a summer dresses "Red I don't plan on buying anything I just like exploring the sights."
Red tsked her and said "Lizzie as long as we're together you will have everything that you desire and work for nothing...I will give you everything and expect nothing back."
Liz smiled at that "You don't have to."
Red chuckled and pulled his sunglasses over his eyes and put his fedora back on and said "But I want to sweetheart, and I won't take no for an answer."
Liz finally relented and lays her head on Red's shoulder, Red smiled at that and looked out the window. The car finally stops and Dembe comes around and opened Red's door; he turns around and holds out his hand to Lizzie "Sweetheart."
Liz smiles and takes his hand "You're sure you know where you're going, because I've never been here and I don't want to get mugged or have one of your enemies attack me," Looking down at her hand where she could still feel the pain.
Red pulled Liz close to him and kissed her head "Don't worry Lizzie, as long as you're with me no one will hurt you. Not my enemies or my people that work with me or just people that I know in general...not even the F.B.I. I will always protect you."
Liz thought that was sweet but also got mad because she could protect herself, she was an agent and knows how to fight and shoot as much as Red or any of his allies "Red I'm not completely helpless...I just don't like the thought of being in a foreign country and not knowing what to do."
Red chuckled at that "Oh sweetheart this little trip is for relaxation, you won't need to do anything...you have me for that."
Liz sighed this was not over yet but for now she went along with whatever Red had to say. The market was a busy place; up and down the streets they had benders selling clothes and jewelry to accessories and food.
Liz gasped at the sight "Red where do we even start."
Red chuckled and steered Lizzie to a bender that was not that busy that sold scarves and bracelets and earrings "Let's start here, they sell the most beautiful assortments, I know you'll just love them. I know for a fact that they come from the most luxurious places like Egypt and was worn by princesses and queens."
The sellers came up to Lizzie and started to talk in a foreign language, Liz turned to Red for help "There asking what you would like and recommending what colors would go best with you."
Liz turned to the woman and man seller "Whatever you think looks best on me," then turning to Red she said, "And something in winter colors as you said looks best on me and I like emeralds and sapphires."
Red spoke the language so beautifully and Liz was entranced, his deep voice sounded like nothing she had never heard before and she felt the vibration from here. The woman smiled at the both of them and turned to the man to get the scarves and she took care of the bracelets and a pair of earrings.
Red kissed Lizzie on the head and whispers "They say that we make a great couple and that you are so lovely they know just what to give you."
Liz blushed as the woman and man held up a silk blue and green scarf that went with her dress and wrapped it around her neck and handed her an emerald bracelet and earrings and said the price to Red who nodded and handed them the money and took Liz on a stroll down the streets "Right around the corner is the restaurant."
Liz smiled and waved at the children and parents of them, then followed Red to the building he was pointing at "This is a beautiful place Red."
Red smirked and opens the doors of the restaurant, and saw that it was right on the sea with a beautiful view of the open waters; he then talked to the owner "Best seat of the house."
The owner nodded "Of course Mr. Shawn and what a lovely wife you have."
Liz smiled at the fake last name as the owner lead them to an ocean view in a private room with only one other couple in the room. Liz gasped out and whispers "Oh Red..."
"Only the best for my Lizzie."
Red smiled and pulled the seat out for Liz and sat across from her, then turned to the waiter and ordered. When the waiter left, he took her hand in his and held it rubbing her scar "So Lizzie what would you like to know about me."
