I've actually managed to write up a total of 6 chapters in 5 days. I feel like GOD. Just kidding. ;)
Anyways, we are very close to, well… Sentinel's revival and his betrayal. I know it's really hard to put this in my story, but I just have to. I said I was following DOTM so this putrid scene is also included in my story. Hopefully I won't fail at writing the scene. But anyways, this is the 77th chapter, so enjoy guys. :)
Even though we were all promised apartments, here in Chicago, no such thing has yet happened. We were all in the base and we couldn't move out of it. Nobody would let us.
As Nicole and I were going to go out of the base, Jazz crossed our path, even though we were just looking for him. "Hey Jazz," Nicole spoke up, "Can you take me and Mel around town?"
"No can do, ladies. Y'all s'pposed to stay 'ere and I've trainin' to do with them soldiers." He said, looking around, most probably searching for the correct soldiers to train with. "This place is complicated an' small."
"It's huge, Jazz." Nicole said.
"Ya, to your lil' eyes." He smirked and walked away, probably finding his training bay.
I turned to Nicole as both she and I saw soldiers guarding the exit, not letting anyone, without jurisdiction, in or out. "Nic, remember when Optimus said that the Autobots had a spaceship, what did he mean by that? Because they need their spaceship to go to the Moon." I asked her.
"Actually, I was out of the Main Room, I was trying to figure out where the hell the Main Room was." She turned her head to look around, but then looked back at me. Only now I realized that she wasn't in the Main Room while Mearing and Optimus were talking, sharing information and glaring at each other the entire time. "They do have a spaceship, it's the Xanthium."
Fortunately, I knew what the Xanthium was and was glad that I knewof it. "So, they'll go with that to the Moon." I concluded.
"Right." She said, looking around.
"Are you looking for something?"
"Like a TV and a couch? Yeah." She said.
"I don't think they have this here." I followed her as she started wandering around the base.
"They have to."
"Actually, they don't. This is a military base." I pointed out.
She stopped walking and shot me a sharp look. "Then we're just going to have to wait for the government to give us apartments, and god knows when will that happen." Irritation could be clearly heard in her voice as she started walking in the direction of our rooms. "I think I have some food in my room, wanna join me?" she climbed up the stairs as I followed suit.
"Actually, I ate already, but there's a kitchen downstairs if you're hungry." I said as we already entered her room.
"Nah, I'm in a mood for something else than '5 minute' meals." She sat on her bed and rummaged through the bags that were messily placed on the bed. Though, I did wonder how she knew about the '5 minute' meals.
She tossed me a sandwich as I caught it swiftly. I looked at her, trying to hand her back the sandwich and shaking my head. "Nic, I really can't-"
"You're not gonna let me eat by myself, are you?" She gave me a look which I couldn't say no to.
I rolled my eyes and unwrapped the aluminum foil. "Alright." I gave in as I took a deep breath. "So…"

Three hours later, Nicole and I could've wrote a book about all topics in life. Really. We were basically talking about anything that would pop out of our mind, be it funny, tragic or nothing of the sort.
But as the hours have passed, the night had fallen and Optimus and Ratchet had returned from their mission on the Moon.
Nicole and I got down from the second floor, headed into the Main Room. It was well lit and we noticed that all of the Autobots now, were situated on one corner of the Main Room and were just sitting there in their alts.
Nicole walked over to Bee as he put up his holoform and the two of them talked. I went over to Ironhide, standing by his side.
"How you doing, Hide? Tired?" I said, patting the warm fender.
"Just fine. As if these humans could ever tire me with their puny trainings." he snorted. I nodded, as if I was listening to him when I really wasn't, but he wasn't talking either. I leaned more over the fender, relaxing as I cast a look on a large metal standing platform. Also known as a Cybertronian bed, that is, berth.
I looked over to the huge berth behind the bay where all the Autobots rested, but were too proud to admit it.
I saw a dead robot on the berth.
My eyes widened as fear spread through me.
"Ack!" I screamed and jumped back. That thing was disgusting and it was huge and… dead!
A group of soldiers that were passing beside the bay saw me jumping away. I must have tripped myself somehow, because I felt like I was falling to the ground.
A pair of arms enveloped me as I squeezed my eyes shut.
I was no longer falling and I was safe in someone's arms, so I calmed myself. "Thanks Hide." I said as I put my hand on the person's arm and opened my eyes.
It wasn't Ironhide.
It was the soldier from before. The same one who had caught me when I had first tripped when Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Dino and Bee were making a rev battle.
"God, I'm so sorry." I got up and out of his arms. "I can be so clumsy sometimes." I smiled shyly as I got to Hide's hood.
"No worries, girl." He said, flashing me a grin. He looked around for a little. "You want to grab a cup of coffee sometime with me? I'm Alex, by the way." he winked as he extended his hand towards me.
I wanted to give him my hand so he could shake it, but I felt arms enveloping me around my waist, quite protectively, restricting me from shaking his hand. This time I knew who it was, no doubt about it. I could smell his fake perfume on the holoform's neck.
"Hey." I kissed his cheek. But he was unmoving, staring at the soldier like he was prey. "You alright?" I had to ask him again, because his stare looked like he was going to eat the soldier, already developing an instant hate towards him.
"Has anybody been giving you problems?" he said uninterestingly, hinting that the problem was 'Alex'.
"No, nobody." I said.
"Good." He said, still not letting me out of his reach. "Soldier," Ironhide looked at him. "Dismissed."
"Sir?" he didn't recognize Ironhide's holoform. And how would he? All of his attention was on me when he caught me and then suddenly, Ironhide snatched me from him. Neither of us saw him. But that didn't mean that I couldn't feel fear the second he started transforming. Such intense fear.
I heard transformation sound behind me and I wanted to move away, but Hide's holoform kept me in place. I didn't want to be near Ironhide while he was transforming. I thought I was completely cool with it, but my fear proved me wrong.
His transformation had stopped and the ground shook with a thundering footstep, making me get off my balance and almost fall, but his hold was keeping me in one place. My heart skipped a beat, from fear.
A small whimper escaped my throat, as I shut my eyes and bit my lips.
I didn't feel safe standing a mere foot away from him. My back was turned towards him and even though I always felt perfectly safe with him, now I wasn't. If he had miscalculated his step, I could've been dead.
"Do I have to repeat myself, worm?" His menacing voice said.
"N-no, sir." He saluted him and scurried away.
I could hear him transforming again into his truck mode, and could also hear him expelling air through his vents. "That ought to teach him." he proudly said, slowly releasing his hug from me. I shoved him away, before he got to retract his arms from me. I couldn't stand to be next to him. I stomped away from him.
The only thing in my mind now was, that I could have been dead. That he could have killed me. That at that moment, my life was in danger, even if he hadn't known it.
"Mel." He called for me, but I didn't dare go back to him. "Mel!" he yelled.
I could feel the soldiers' looks directed onto us as I ran away. I ran up to my room, trying not to trip on the stairs on the way up. I got in, already breathless, and slammed the door behind me. I turned my back on the door, leaning on it and fell to the ground.
Picking up my knees towards my chest, I felt the hot tears burning my eyes. I heard the knocks on the door. "Mel, open up."I knew it was Ironhide.
I ignored him. God, I was feeling so scared. The mere thought of Ironhide killing me just so he could scare off someone… it made me feel so horrible, so terrified of him…
"Open the door, Mel." He repeated.
I ignored him, my tears staining my clothes.
"I'm coming in." he said. I didn't know if he would slam through the door or do something else, but if he would go through the door, well… that wouldn't end well on either accounts.
But he didn't barge in. He appeared in front of me. "Go away." I said, my voice cracked, diverting my look.
"What happened back in the Main Room? Why did you run away from me?"
"Screw you." Was all that I could say. I didn't care if he would get angry with me. He should have known better than to act ignorantly.
"Why did you run away?" He patiently repeated.
"Go away." I turned my head away from him as he crouched in front of me.
"Tell me what's wrong." He put his hand on my knee.
I kicked him, my emotions burning with hate and just wanted him to go away. Of course, he couldn't feel the pain, I knew this. He was just a projected light, as Ratchet would say it. "Leave me alone!" I shrieked, getting up on my feet quickly. He followed suit.
"Not until you tell me what's wrong!" he said in a higher voice.
"Get. The fuck. Away from me." I glared at him. I was so filled with anger that I would have pounced on him. My hands formed in fists, my nails digging into my skin so much that it started to hurt.
"I'm not going anywhere." He glared at me, but his glare was not as intense as mine and was not filled with hate, like mine.
"This is my room and I want you out of it." I could almost growl at him. I couldn't believe that the love of my life could have killed me. Could have ended my life.
"Not a chance, Melissa." He said, his voice deep, declaring his stay. The pronunciation of my whole name already told me he had no intention of leaving until making things right.
And I was not in the cooperative mood.
I turned around quickly and opened the door. Ironhide was faster and shut it with his hand before I got away.
"Let me out!" I yelled at him, trying to shove him away.
"It's your room, isn't it?" he irritated. "It's not good for your current state to stress-"
"Fuck you and your readings and state and all of this shit!" I threw my arms up, my blood boiling with anger and hate.
"Why these words, Mel?" he asked, and he was truly confused. Sure, I had never reacted like this, but his actions deserved these reactions.
"You are so stupid, Ironhide! You could have fucking killed me back there!" I flung my arm to the left, as if showing where he could have killed me. And on the left, the Main Room was there.
"I would have never done anything if not checking for your safety first." He defended himself.
"You liar!" I yelled as my throat was enduring the pain from the roars. "You just had to scare him away, didn't you?! You had to prove that you're the ALMIGHTY Ironhide, didn't you?! That everyone had to be afraid of you! Well, guess what, smartass! I'm afraid of you, too!" my voice cracked at the end as I almost chocked, my eyes filled with forming tears.
I shoved him away from me, finding the extra strength in the adrenaline, as I opened the door and ran to the end of the unexplored corridor. My ears started to buzz as I kept running, taking a turn to the right. I didn't know where I was going. I took another right turn and got to a couch. A goddamn couch. But I knew that this was a dead end, because the couch was surrounded by three walls.
I turned back around, only to find Ironhide towering over me. "Move!" I roared and threw myself at him.
He didn't bother dodging. He embraced me, as if I had jumped in to hug him.
We fell on his back and he had no retorts. I put my hands beside his arms and tried to push myself off with all I had, but I couldn't. He had an iron hold on me.
So I shrieked. I roared. I did whatever I could.
"Calm down." He said calmly.
"CALM DOWN?!" my throat was at the end of its functions, literally. It could give up any moment now. "You want me to fucking calm down?! Are you on fucking drugs, you imbecile?!" I was out of my goddamn mind. "Get away from m-!"
He put a hand over my mouth. "Be quiet, you're not the only one at the base."
I was fuming, about to explode, so pissed off that I could barely take it anymore. I threw a goddamn fit on him. I couldn't contain myself at all.
I threw my arms and legs all over him, trying to hurt him, to kick him, to punish him.
But I couldn't. I just couldn't do it.
My strength was leaving me, so quickly.
And in a matter of only seconds, I had been drained, empty. Empty of any and all feelings.
I was still in his hold, and as I had tried to get up, he wouldn't let me. I was surprised that none of the soldiers came to the rescue. In a way, I was also scared why they couldn't have heard my screams. Maybe he almost killed them, too.
He's not a Decepticon, Melissa.
My conscience scolded me. But I felt so tired.
"Let me… go." I breathed out, still struggling against him. But it was hopeless. He wouldn't let me go even if I had begged him to. And I would certainly not ever bring myself that low to beg him for something.
I had tried to breathe normally, I really did, but I ended up coughing, my throat hurting me bad.
But the pain my throat had couldn't be measured with the pain I was feeling. Feeling deep inside.
I felt so exhausted after this, so tired.
"Are you willing to-"
But as soon as I had heard this voice, a part of me was instantly fueled with irate. "Don't you dare speak to me."
"You didn't tell me what I did, that you thought was wrong." He continued as I tried to get back up from his chest. Of course, he wouldn't let me.
"Let me go and I'll tell you."
"Knowing you, you'd escape."
"Knowing you, you'd chase me down."
"Damn straight." He said, but had no intentions of letting me go. "Begin."
I huffed, "Begin?" I gave him a scrutinizing look. "I don't have to say anything to you!" I yelled back, my throat protesting.
"Fine, then we are just going to stay this way forever."
"And if I have to pee?" I raised an eyebrow.
"The holoform is not real. Nothing would happen to it." I smirked. "What?" he was confused. "Mel, I know that look, don't you dare scream again." Oh I was going to scream until my lungs get sore and throat gives up. "Melissa, don't-!"
"UNCLE WILL!" I roared. "Help me! Aahhh!" I shrieked the loudest I could. I really wanted him to help me. My voice was out. I broke it.
I didn't hear anything for a moment. But then I heard a large amount of footsteps.
I could see my uncle running towards me and a group of soldiers right behind him, holding their guns to their chests. He was readying his handgun, but then he saw what was going on.
"Ironhide, what the-?"
"It's nothing." He said, a little strained, but still holding me.
"Will, help me get away from him!" I yelled in my broken voice. "He almost killed me!"
"Hide?" Will said as he approached us and Ironhide had finally let go of me. "You can go, guys." Will said to the soldiers who were utterly confused. They went away. "What is going on here?"
I got out of Hide's hold, hugging my uncle immediately. His hand looped around my back, keeping me against him. "We were in the Main Room and there was this soldier-" I quickly started to explain, holding him tightly.
"Did he do anything to you?" Will quickly asked.
"Who?"
"The soldier."
"No, he didn't do anything, that's not the point. Ironhide wanted to scare him off by transforming and when he did, he just came down to the ground so fast and hard that-"
"I thought there was a mild earthquake, Ironhide. You need to take that trigger-happy attitude of yours down a notch." Will said.
Ironhide shrugged. I continued with talking as both of them listened to me. "And I was so damn scared because his massive foot landed inches away from me, and he could have killed me Will!"
"I couldn't have. I calculated every move I made."
"And what if you had miscalculated, huh Ironhide?" I glared at him. "What if you were malfunctioning and didn't even know it? Then what? Then what would you do? And how would you explain to Will that… that…" I didn't even want to say it. I just wanted to get away.
"Hide, did you really scare the shit out of her?" my uncle's face turned rigid.
"I would never."
"But you did!" I said with my broken voice, as the water in my eyes welled up. "You did…" I dug my face into my uncle's neck.
"I think it's best if you leave her be, for now. We'll talk about this later." he said to Ironhide and then slowly walked away with me. "Let's get you to your room, Mel."
We walked along the corridors slowly and my uncle knew better than to ask me questions. Soon we came to my room and he walked me into it. "Do you want me to call Sarah? Maybe it'll help talking to her."
I shook my head. "No. Thanks Will."
He nodded, "I don't know what's with him, Mel. But Ironhide has his own way of showing people he cares. Maybe it's not in the gentle way, but in the protective one. He only wants the best for you, so don't forget that." he said, slowly closing the door behind him, leaving me to ponder on his words.
I was left alone in my room, just as I had wanted.
I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. The hot tears ran across the sides of my face, leaving cold trails.
I must have been staring here for quite a while, because the hate, anger and irate inside me had completely vanished. I just wondered, how and why would Ironhide do such a thing in my presence? Why would he have to shake the ground beneath him? Was he trying to prove something to the soldier? His normal form would have been enough to scare the shit out of anyone.
But knowing him and his trigger-happiness, he would always over-exaggerate and it would rarely end good. Why couldn't he have just transformed and be done with it? The soldier would get the message, he isn't stupid.
I heard a knock on the door. It could have been Will again.
I quickly sat up in my bed and wiped my cheeks. I fixed the cover that was over my legs and waist and calmed myself. "Come in."
The door opened and revealed a bulky figure. Only when the figure closed the door did I recognize it.
"What do you want?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"A thorough explanation without violent reactions."
"I don't owe you anything."
"Of course you don't." he said, sitting by my side. I repressed the urge to shove him away from me. "But I'd like to know what I did wrong and how can I correct it."
"You can't correct it. What's done is done." I turned my head away.
His finger found its way under my chin, turning my head toward him. "What's done can also be undone." He said with a smile.
"Not in this case, Ironhide." I turned my head away again, crossing my arms.
"Do you want to speak about this in my cab?"
I snorted and narrowed my eyes. "So that you could have your little song selection help you out? No."
"You need to be cooperative if you want to-"
"I need to be cooperative? Me? Excuse me, but I didn't go around putting people in danger."
"Just how did I put you in danger? By stomping on the ground?"
"You stomped mere inches away from me!"
"It was-"
"Don't you have any idea how scared I was?"
My throat was closing in on itself, hurting me on its own accord. My lungs could hold less air in them, and I was feeling so stressed out.
"Did I…frighten you?" his voice was blank, but filled with uneasiness at the same time.
"A lot." I breathed out, staring at a blank space before me.
"I was just trying to get that human away from you."
I was silent, just staring at nothing. "Why?"
"What?"
"Why did you have to scare him away?"
"To prove that I am far superior than he is."
I shook my head, blinking a few times to focus my eyes back to normal. "Did you somehow think you were worth less?" I looked at him in the eyes.
"Of course not, but he had to know who was the-"
"The one with bigger weapons, bigger size, greater experience?" I looked at him sadly. "Don't you already know that you have all that?"
He started to realize his mistake, I could see it on his face. "I was just…"
"But you were so blinded, Ironhide. You could only think for yourself. You completely forgot about me." Saying that had hurt me.
"I could never forget about you."
"But you did… You forgot I was in your arms when you stomped behind me. I felt like a bug. I felt worthless, meaningless." Another whimper escaped my aching throat.
"I made you feel worthless?" Ironhide face was full of guilt. His blue eyes didn't shine anymore, once that I had looked at him. It was like he was going to rip out a piece of himself, to torture himself. "I have to go shoot myself. Primus, how could I let this happen…" his hand found its way onto his face as he shook his head.
He started to get up from my bed. I feared that he would really do it. "Stop." I told him.
He took another step towards the door. "Mel, I love you." He said, half turning his head around.
My lips trembled and eyes filled with water. My limbs felt so weak and I felt so sad. I feared that he would really go shoot himself. I couldn't let that happen and I didn't have the strenght to stop it.
"Come back." I whimpered and whispered. I just didn't know what to do anymore. My voice reminded me of Rose's from Titanic. "Come back." I felt my tears on my hands, which were resting on my things as I bent over. "Don't go. Don't do something-" I silently hiccupped. "That you'll regret."
He stopped in his tracks and turned around. I looked at me for a second, as I felt being scanned, but not in the literal way. He walked back towards me and sat on my bed. His hand fell near my leg, as my hand clung onto it. I realized, that I couldn't go without him. I loved him so much. Even thought we fought all the time.
He was silent as he sighed and looked me in the eyes. "Melissa, I am so sorry. I'm an ignorant fool." He moved his legs onto my bed as he was lying with me, turned towards me. He tucked his hands underneath my chin, wiping the oncoming tears effortlessly. "I can rarely help it. But seeing you in the arms of that human, I got filled with anger. I couldn't handle the thought of someone else holding you, beside me."
"Did you think he would… take me away?" I leaned into his touch, as my hand caressed the one that was caressing my cheek.
He sighed, as he knew he had to answer this. "For a moment, yes."
I couldn't believe he was actually being serious. "Ironhide, we have been together for 6 years, and counting." I said. "Do you really think something like this could take me away from you? I'd never leave you alone." The last statement had multiple meanings, which caused him to smile a little.
"This base is filled with males longing for the touch and attention of a female, Mel. I think you can understand my position."
"You're saying that as if I can't defend myself." I said as he embraced me in a strong hug.
I moved on top of him, lying on his chest as I always would. His left hand trailed to my head, caressing it as his other hand was around my waist. "I trained you well. I know you can defend yourself easily."
"Then why worry?" I said in a whisper.
"Because I love you." The words were so pleasant to hear that I almost forgave him. Almost. "Mel, I have to ask you something."
"Shoot."
"Are you still afraid?"
"I'm traumatized."
"Seriously now."
I didn't answer anything for a moment. Was I still afraid? Of his holoform, no, but of his real form… "I'm not afraid." I said, for perhaps I'll later embrace this statement. "But please, control your movements next time. When you're in your real form, I'm an insect compared to you and I'm just scared that you will somehow oversee me and I'd end up being a red spot on the floor."
"I'd never do such a thing to you. I promise to contain myself as much as I can, from now on.." he said, kissing my forehead once.
I raised my chin up. He wanted to say something, but I pressed my lips against his. "Yes, you're forgiven." I said with a small grin. His body relaxed underneath me. "I just hope something like this won't happen again, okay?" I said, giving him another kiss and tucking my head under his chin.
"It won't. I promise on my spark." He suddenly tensed.
"What's wrong?"
"Someone's coming."
"Hey Mel, I just want to tell you-" my head whipped to the unexpected visitor.
It was my uncle. Will.
"Hide?" he looked from him to me. "Mel?" he was visibly shocked. "Wha..?"
And then he passed out.
Ironhide and I stared at him. "What the actual frag did just happen?"
"I think my uncle found out about us and fainted."
He chuckled. "Let's help him." he said as I got off him. "So how do we revive him?"
"He's not dead, you bozo." I laughed as he picked him up and dragged him to the bed. "I know how to 'revive' him." I rolled my eyes as I repeated his funny remark.
Yeah. So that's what happened! Now, Will knows about Hide and Mel and things are bound to get interesting!
And I just have to start fights between Ironhide and Mel. The idea pops up and I just can't ignore it. And this is the outcome.
I also had to use the Arcee's quote 'What's done is done.' From Transformers: Prime. I love that series, but unfortunately, it's no longer available in my country to watch on YouTube so yeah… Fucking YouTube. But I did get to watch Predacons Rising last night and dear god… I almost cried at the end of the movie. I'm not going to say anything regarding the movie, as to not give away spoilers to those who haven't yet watched it, but I think there's another story in plan for me to write and it's going to be Arcee/Optimus Prime in TFP universe.
So how did you guys like this chapter?
